Twitchy reported earlier today on Rep. Allen West’s ongoing recount battle in Florida, and tonight brought the discovery of a box of 304 ballots that hadn’t been read.

A point of distinction from a staffer: the ballots left in the office were never missing; they just weren’t read.

An attorney for Patrick Murphy doesn’t appear to be contesting the counting of the “new” ballots.

The count of overseas ballots doesn’t appear to be making much of a difference, though every vote should count.

St. Lucie County is supposed to file the certified election results by noon on Sunday. Twitchy will continue to monitor the situation for further developments.

Update:

The Palm Beach Post’s George Bennett is reporting that all early votes in the West-Murphy race will be recounted, starting tomorrow morning.

Bennett doesn’t offer much explanation into those 304 unread ballots; perhaps in tomorrow’s paper? Color us interested.

    Completely and totally FUBAR. SMH

  • Seewetoldu

Ya, we didn’t see them because I was sitting on them….

  • SwTk

Um, regardless, this is a precedent. RECOUNT ALL. Check the changed votes. Check the multiple vote counts. How can a man that claims to have “character” concede to a win with all these questions? Sorry, sounds like a lack of character to me. All we hear is “WE WON.” Would you really want the specter of cheating hanging over your head? I s’pose thats OK for them. I really hate this brave new world.

  • USshrugged

They are prob fake from the Murphy side. Only reason he wouldnt care. Theyve had plenty of time to *discover” more. Like Franken did.

    • Elaine

That could not happen if the first judge had ruled in West’s favor to LOCK and SECURE ALL ballots. What a joke our system has become. Who trusts the process at this point? NO ONE.

    • roipolloi

There is no reason to believe that they are fake. If Murphy doesn’t care it’s because they deserve to be counted.

  • Penmar

This alone should trigger a total recount, based on the fact that the officials obviously were incompetent, so who knows what else they did.

  • Grumpa Grumpus

Well. The GOP won’t do it.

The GOP doesn’t want West b/c he’ll do what’s right… not what will help The Progressive Cause.

Isn’t it time for all the like-minded people to band togther.

  • Lisa

Whether missing or uncounted…that’s ineptitude that we can’t afford in elections.

I found some in my car, all marked WEST. Where do I drop them off? Might take a day or two to get there from IL…

    BigEd left a comment
So Bobby Jindal is the GOP front runner for
POTUS in 2016. Uh, I don’t think he passes the criteria, silly Cons.
Bobby’s mother was pregnant w/ him for 6 months when they arrived to the
US from India. According to you wacky Cons rationale, a fetus is a
person. Hence, he was a person before he arrived in the USA. Therefore
he is not eligible to be the president of US. BWAHAHAHA!!!.

Then all those ‘anchor babies’ coming across the southern border are equally not citizens and hence they (and their families) can be deported…right?

Don’t be embarassed for wanting real answers. The people that ridicule you can’t explain to you how building 7 fell anymore than you can. Ridicule is one of Saul Alinsky’s tricks, rule nuber 5 I believe.

          • konservative1

Yea, damn, that building 7 has always bugged the hell out of me.

          • Back 4 More

Yea, me too. Seems a little peculiar that a building that wasn’t hit by anything goes straight down at free-fall speed into it’s own footprint. Until someone can explain that one to me they should probably consider keeping the ridicule and eye rolls to themselves.

          • mike_in_kosovo

Stop using non-sensical Truther terms like “free fall speed” and you’ll get a lot less ridicule and eye rolls.

As for “not hit by anything”, evidently you need to get info from better sources – even alternatereality .org acknowledges damage to the building. (that’s a joke on the loons over at alter-nut, btw).

“On about a third of the face to the center and to the bottom–approximately ten stories–about 25 percent of the depth of the building was scooped out,” Shyam Sunder, the lead investigator for the National Institute of Standards and Technology”

Try here: http://www.debunking911.com/WTC7.htm – plenty of evidence of the damage to the building.

          • Back 4 More

What exactly is non-sensical about saying free fall speed when it, in fact, fell at free fall speed? Not only did it fall at FREE FALL SPEED, it fell neatly into it’s own footprint. I don’t really care what Shyam Sunder or any other paid shill says about it. I’m not suggesting that I know exactly what happened, I’m just saying I don’t buy the official story. It’s all just a little too convenient for belief to me. You are certainly entitled to believe everything the government tells you if that’s what you want to do. The whole thing didn’t work out so well for the lead investigator of the attack a few months earlier on the USS Cole. He was killed on his first day of work at the Word Trade Center after quitting the FBI over what he swore was a cover up. You don’t ever wonder why not one executive happened to be at work that day? You don’t ever wonder how that building fell so neatly? We won’t ever know the truth anyway. People still don’t know the deal with JFK, Oswald or Ruby. You think I’m silly for questioning the government, and I think you’re silly for believing everything they tell you.

          • mike_in_kosovo

What exactly is non-sensical about saying free fall speed when it, in fact, fell at free fall speed?

Because it didn’t, in fact, fall at free-fall speed. If it had, the rubble wouldn’t have beaten it to the ground. But you go ahead with your bad Troofer self and believe everything that Alex Jones tells you instead of physics.

          • Back 4 More

I guess you happened to be sky diving next to it when it fell and beat it to the bottom. I’m not sure exactly what a truther is. If it means I would like to know the truth then, yea, I’m a truther I guess. I don’t share your blind faith that the most powerful people on the planet are 100% honest 100% of the time. Call it a character flaw, call it being a truther, call it whatever it is that sheep call people that have escaped the flock.

            Suuuuure, you’re not. *eye roll*

If it means I would like to know the truth then, yea, I’m a truther I guess.

“Truth” being whatever Alex Jones tells you, instead of actual physical evidence (like the photos of damage to the building that you said wasn’t hit by anything) and the laws of physics.

I don’t share your blind faith that the most powerful people on the planet are 100% honest 100% of the time.

I must have missed where I declared that ‘blind faith’ – can you point it out to me?

You’re one of those people. Repeat the statement and then give a reply in a seperate section kind of person. Cute. Not sure who Alex Jones is just like I’m not exactly sure what a truther is. I know it’s got something to do with thinking the official story of 9/11 is fishy, but I’m not sure if there’s some other meaning that I’m not aware of. Yea, the building was hit by enough debris to start a small fire. I don’t believe that made it fall neatly into it’s own footprint. You can believe what they tell you on TV instead of physics. I bet you’re a structural engineer too, right? Probably an architect and an advanced mathmatics professor also. You probably have an uncle in the CIA that told you all the secrets of the universe but made you swear not to tell anyone. Oh, if I could only get a handle on this whole gravity thing. It’s so damned complicated when you don’t jump out of airplanes. I’m gonna have to get out my slide rule to calculate the terminal velocity of a sky scraper. Better yet, I’ll just see what O’Reilly says about it. Damn it, now I’m gonna have to google Alex Jones. I’ve got to eat some breakfast. Comment away.

          • mike_in_kosovo

So, you’re one of those people stupid enough to believe the the gov’t killed 3000+ citizens as a pretext to start a war, but somehow wouldn’t prevent the Loose Screws crew and Alex Jones from exposing the conspiracy?
You’re living proof that you really CAN fool some of the people all of the time.

          • Back 4 More

Who the hell said anything about the government killing 3 thousand people to start a war? Is that what we’re talking about here? I haven’t gotten around to looking up Alex Jones yet. Well by all means, let’s hear *your* theory, since you’re such an expert. You’ve already said it wasn’t due to damage, above, and now we have the oh-so-faux outrage over the conspiracy angle, so let’s hear what it really was.

I haven’t gotten around to looking up Alex Jones yet. Let me get my breakfast and I’ll get right on that. I’m fairly certain if it’s someone who doesn’t agree with you then he just HAS to be wrong

The troll doth protest overmuch, methinks. “Own footprint at free-fall speeds”, “paid shill”…. do you believe in nano-thermite, too?

I see we’re sticking with that whole repeating a statement and replying in a seperate section thing. Yea, still cute. As I previously stated, I don’t have a theory or claim to know what happened. Never claimed to be an expert, that was you with your majestic tales of 2 decades of sky diving and infinate knowledge of physics. I just think there is some fishy stuff we’re not being told. I’m not trying to sway your opinion about anything. I don’t know you and couldn’t possibly care less what you think about anything. You’re just some guy that took it upon himself to leave a smart ass reply to a comment I made to someone else. I’ve got news for you Slick, just because you’ve convinced yourself that you’re smarter than everyone else and know exactly what happened doesn’t mean it’s really true. I don’t know if anyone has ever told you this, but it’s entirely possible that your brain doesn’t hold the magical key to the universe. I will have to admit ignorance on nano-thermite. I know what nano means and I have an idea of what thermite is but I don’t know the significance of combining those 2 words. I’m guessing my alleged oracle and your apparent nemesis, Alex Jones, will tell me when I find him. As I have finished my breakfast and my football game isn’t on for a little while, I will now begin the arduous task of finding Mr. Jones and discovering the significance of nano-thermite. This should be interesting.

Yes, we are – it makes for a more readable format than a wall’o’text.

As I previously stated, I don’t have a theory or claim to know what happened.

Really? You certainly didn’t have any problems claiming there was no damage to the building, above, or claiming it fell at freefall speed.

Never claimed to be an expert, that was you with your majestic tales of 2 decades of sky diving and infinate knowledge of physics.

I never claimed to be an expert – that’s your strawman. You certainly didn’t have a problem with claiming enough info/expertise to call a structural engineer a ‘paid shill’, though.

I don’t know you and couldn’t possibly care less what you think about anything. You’re just some guy that took it upon himself to leave a smart ass reply to a comment I made to someone else.

Yup – gave you good advice, too. Don’t spout off Truther shit and you don’t get eye-rolled at.

Never claimed *that*, either – planning on something *besides* strawmen at some point?

I will have to admit ignorance on nano-thermite. I know what nano means and I have an idea of what thermite is but I don’t know the significance of combining those 2 words. • mike_in_kosovo

Hey, Slick…you never *did* tell us what brought WTC 7 down, since it wasn’t the ‘small fires’ or the damage that you said never happened.

          • Back 4 More

Hey Slick, I never claimed I knew what brought it down, remember? Once again, that was you. See, I’m the one saying I don’t have the answers, you’re the one that accepts the official story and claims to know exactly what happened. Since you’ve got it all figured out I don’t really see what the issue is. You aren’t the first sheep to walk off a cliff, you won’t be the last.

          • mike_in_kosovo

For someone that doesn’t have any answers, you sure to have a lot to say about how it evidently *didn’t* happen. Without those answers, how are you so sure that the rest of us are being fooled, hm?

Don’t forget to give Alex those “three bags full”, Slick.

Allen West shows what Romney should have done, not consed and fight like a tiger to uncover the errors of the vote tally. As the system relies on voluntary community ballot workers (paid for their time), the degree of mischief is high (as none need a background check) and ulterior motives are easy to execute. The reason why Ballot reform is fought so vividly by Democrats is that it’s a huge portion of their vote. Asking for ID brings forth ID fraud, clearing the rolls of deceased only brings forth flimsy ligation by claims of Civil Right abuse.

Yes Obama won in 2012, so did JFK in 1960. If you can read between the lines on that last passage, well done.
