Texas seems to have won the race to “secede” from the United States following President Obama’s reelection, with the state’s online petition surpassing the 25,000-signature threshold some time yesterday. At last count, 23 petitions asking for states to peacefully secede have popped up on the White House’s “We the People” website, but the story doesn’t end there.
