The president has already returned to Washington, D.C., to monitor Hurricane Sandy from the White House, and now Vice President Biden has cancelled events in Ohio and Pennsylvania over the next three days, citing “an abundance of caution.”
Just in: Biden events tomorrow in Wooster and Gambier OH as well as Thursday Scranton event are now cancelled due to #Sandy.

MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell, though, has used her training as a “real journalist” to read between the lines. Internal polling showing a sure win for Obama in Pennsylvania must be the reason Biden has canceled his Scranton visit. If the state were still in play, would the campaign let a little Frankenstorm keep Biden off the stump?
Once again, leave it to the rest of us to ask the questions reporters used to ask.
@mitchellreports @JoeBiden I think SAFETY is the issue. Can you imagine someone getting hurt going to a rally? Doesn't pay! Stay indoors!

@mitchellreports if that was Ryan would you have tweeted that?

@mitchellreports You do realize this is a HURRICANE, don't you? It's called SAFETY FIRST! Think before you tweet next time. @JoeBiden

@mitchellreports @JoeBiden and tell me, can u see what PA will be like Thursday? Can you spell SANDY?
— Dee Walch (@DEEE999) October 29, 2012
Three letters: S-A-N-D-Y.
@mitchellreports @JoeBiden Umm…the fact Romney super PAC putting a 2 mil ad buy that OFA is countering tells you PA in play.
— TxSker (@TxSker) October 29, 2012
@mitchellreports Should we also assume Ohio also not in play? Little snarky are we?
— carol (@carolscho) October 29, 2012
@mitchellreports your rationale makes no sense. Then why was he going to PA in the first place? For a lark? O team panicked?
— CMM (@carolfoxlover) October 29, 2012
Mitchell might want to turn off MSNBC and switch over to ABC for the afternoon. It’s not the winds that have Pennsylvania suddenly leaning away from Obama.
