It sounds like Tom Morello’s unhinged rant against Paul Ryan — inspired by Ryan’s professed love of Rage Against the Machine — hasn’t dissuaded the vice presidential candidate from giving shout-outs to his favorite bands, or at least the first and last ones on his iPod playlist.

Is it possible to politicize such an innocuous comment? As another vice presidential candidate might have said, “You betcha!”

Fair point: wouldn’t Led Zeppelin be filed under “L” and not “Z”?

Has Ryan just lost the ZZ Top vote?

Is this a serious question? If this is the only thing that people can find wrong with Paul Ryans speech, then he is golden. It says a lot if they can only critique his taste in music.

Liberals are claiming it’s un-American to like AC-DC and Zeppelin???

    1) Since when do liberals think “un-American” is a bad thing?
    2) Who doesn’t like these bands?
    3) Are you trifling little trolls friggin’ serious???

Yes, they are. These are the same people who would completely change their fundamental stances on issues from 2000-2008 if they even found themselves in the super-icky position of holding the same view as President Bush.

My three favorite bands are all British. Who cares? They’ve got nothing on him, but they still have to grasp for something. It shows how out of touch and shallow the average democrat is. They have no idea what is really going on. Their biggest issue is the music he listens too.

Tom Morello hilariously made the statement that he did like he takes his music seriously. How dare Ryan listen to my music, “he is everything we were raging against”. If your music is too serious for a Republican to be allowed to like, why is it not too serious for ten-year-olds to play on plastic guitars in Guitar Hero? Yeah, let’s take that guy seriously.

Once again, The Aardvarks are left as roadkill on the shoulder of the Highway to Hell…

Yep, this comment is sure to rile up the same people that care if he wears boxers or briefs.

So funny to hear the self proclaimed voices of tolerance and equality in the music and movie industries admonish conservatives for liking their music…if you don’t think like I do, don’t play my music…I’m so glad they tell us that they are the ones supporting free speech and equality, otherwise I might think they are intolerant haters.

  • AMERICAN Kafir™(KAdams)

Funny though. Most non-American bands didn’t really achieve their top status until they came to America.

Look at ‘Pussy Riot’. They didn’t make headlines until they crashed an Orthodox Cathedral’s service over in Russia. I still won’t listen to their trash, though.

Most of my main favorite bands(the ones I listen to the most) are foreign, with the exception being Aerosmith and a couple others. So he likes AC/DC and Led Zeppelin. Of course libs will politicize his comment; they can’t leave anything from a conservative alone. IMO, he has excellent taste in music. ^^
