Papa John’s Pizza can only hope that the inevitable boycott against the company for opposing Obamacare will go as well as the sales record-setting boycott against Chick-fil-A earlier this month.

Papa John’s CEO and founder John Schnatter, who held a fundraiser for Mitt Romney earlier this year, told shareholders in a conference call this week that implementing Obamacare would cost 11 to 14 cents per pizza, a cost that would be passed on to customers.

Customers — or should we say former customers — were anxious to promote their generosity, saying they’d happily pay the extra 15 cents if it would provide health coverage.

However, many will never get the chance to pitch in for health coverage, as they vow to boycott the chain.

How could the CEO be so cheap, when ordinary folk are eager to pitch in a few cents? Because the rich are evil, that’s why.

https://twitter.com/StewieGilchrist/status/233651076740575232

On Schnatter’s own @IAmPapaJohn Twitter account, things quickly turned ugly.

https://twitter.com/StopLyingUHacks/status/233722287805841409

On “The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer” on Thursday, CNN’s fact checker called the 14-cent price hike estimate “false” — but only after noting repeatedly that the chain did not provide sales figures or other financial data to CNN.

First Chick-fil-A and now Papa John’s: could it soon be possible in a moment of hunger to forget just whom to boycott and why?

  • SpaceRacer423

I guess Obama’s welfare army will take their food stamps elsewhere.

    • mgrafius

Can’t buy Papa John’s with food stamps silly. Not yet at least…

      • SpaceRacer423

        You cant?
huh, I’ve never tried. I use cash.
So this “protest/ boycott” doesnt really affect Papa John’s at all…..
at least not until Obama makes EBT our national currency.

Obamacare continuing to save lives, a price increase might save some sorry sap in the deep redneck south from eating himself to death, one less pizza, maybe one less heart attack

    • hwy505

Dave – you do understand that Pizza is not a junk food, and contains the major food groups? But then again – I’m from Brooklyn, Jewish, hold two degrees, and live in the deep south – what would I know?

      • http://twitter.com/thetugboatphil TugboatPhil

Craig, I doubt that he even understands that the full program hasn’t even kicked in yet. When the really big costs start to hit in 2014, he’ll be crying for more food stamps.

who knew they took EBT cards?

Funny how truth, no matter what it is, or how small must be stomped out, shut out and avoided by these people.

All these people live under the delusion that the nice doctors office they go to now will be the same for everyone. People will not be simply included in the current system; The current modern US system has been effectively downgraded to a failed early 20th century health delivery system.

What an absolute moronic idea. There are far better ways to reach these goals while maintaining great delivery.

    • http://twitter.com/sdp24 PH

Papa Murphy’s take & bake takes the EBT card but then they’d have to slave away at the oven for 12-14 minutes.

      • Jennifer Pilger McCoombe

Murphy’s pizza is gross and driving 30 minutes to pick one up then 30 minutes home then baking it myself heck I could make the whole pizza at home cheaper or get Papa Johns which comes already baked.

        • SpaceRacer423

          Hold on a sec.

          Little Caesars is a franchise.

You need to get to know the local guy who owns your LOCAL Little Caesars. He or she might be a great person.

Little Caesars Corp does a LOT for veterans, esp if they are wounded. They have even given a couple of them a franchise store for FREE–>http://franchise.littlecaesars.com/VeteransProgram/tabid/76/Default.aspx

So check who owns your local store.
You may well be boycotting a real American Hero.

          • https://twitter.com/AlessaRosewater Maria

My husband is a Purple Heart decorated veteran and he says he will never go to Little Caesars, since the corporation gets a certain amount of revenue from the privately owned stores. Even eating at Mom and Pop’s Little Caesars helps fund the Leftist corportation.

          • SpaceRacer423

Thank you to your husband for his service,
but I politely disagree with his position.

Im not willing to take money away from a local franchise owner I like and respect because of the politics of a Corp owner he has no control over.

Little Caesars Corp will never notice the loss,
but the local guy trying to make ends meet will be hit hard.

            Plus, I love crazy bread.

Obama must never have finished college. He doesn’t even know business and how to make it succeed. So, how can this supposed law graduate not know Business Math, Economics, etc? I mean…even life MUST have taught him how to succeed based on his “hard” life…right? Did he not work for a successful business and say – “hey…I want to be successful by working hard….one day.” Instead…his success is covered in lies and thuggish behavior. Why are his college transcripts sealed again? Is Barrack really his name or an alias? Does the real name have a criminal record???

$.14/pizza price increase is what the papa is sniveling about. In other words he blames his workers for any price increases ignoring other variables such as the expected rise in food products due to the drought or rising fuel prices. You see the pizza hut he lives in? It dwarfs the Whitehouse.

    • Matthew T. Costello

that is it in a nutshell. add a dime to everything u buy and see hopw it adds up esp w loss of more jobs due to companies trying to save more money….it will be a new depression

      • Ken Alan Draper

That’s like when they up the gas tax, it adds to the prices of everything several times over, buy a shirt, the farmer that raised the cotton, the trucker that took the cotton to the mill, the trucker that took the cotton cloth to the factory, the factory adds to the cost paying their light & heat bills, as well as for the electricity, the trucker who delivers the shirt to the regional Distribution center, & the trucker that delivers the shirt to the store. part of the cost of that shirt is the fuel tax times six or seven. not many people think about how much taxation adds to the costs of goods & services.

        • Steve Duncan

@twitter-25767077:disqus You pay it one way or the other. Without the taxes, other things, such as the hundreds of goods and services that are government subsidized, go up in price as well.

Just like everyone that thinks his healthcare plan is so wonderful do they realize that your car/truck, house and life insurance premium is gonna sky rocket, insurance companies are not gonna lose any money they will find a way to make up the difference and that will be to raise all other insurance.

          • bmwdude

Which is why we need to get insurance companies OUT OF THE HEALTH CARE BUSINESS and move to a single payer plan

          • http://www.facebook.com/nathan.hill.988711 Nathan Hill

Yes, so everyone can get the same substandard service, I have lived a long time under single payer, you get to come back several times for a malady that can be cured or taken care of in one visit, long lines for basic care, THE DOCTORS AND HOSPITALS WILL MAKE THEIR CAPITAL WITH VOLUME RATHER THAN WITH ACTUALLY CURING THE SICK.

      • Joy Bean Cox

So true. I posted an example of how the school lunch went up .25 cents. Not a lot, but by the end of the year, it will cost me an extra $90.

      • JPK1997

this tax will add a $.10 to $.15 on the COST side. Typically, retail (and if I’m not mistaken, this includes restaurants) will add around 50% margin to this… So final PRice to customer will potentially increase $.25 to $.30… not a big deal on a single item, but multiplied by every item in your shopping cart and you are looking at a major hit to the average consumers wallet.
I’m so happy that the libs are totally willing to volunteer my hard eared cash for their f’d up utopian nightmare. I’d rasther hasve none of it, but hey, I guess my votes don’t count.

        • nubwaxer

“Typically, retail (and if I’m not mistaken, this includes restaurants) will add around 50% margin.”
wtf? extra costs means they sneak in extra profits on top of the extra costs? seems their “margin” would be the same pre $.14/pizza as it would be after the increase. maybe you’re trying to say the pizza joint is running such an extremely low margin of profit ( 1%, 2%, which i doubt) that any increase will kill the business. will consumers willingly pay the price increase because they support employer provided healthcare or boycott Papa John’s to let the shareholders know that they resent their leader’s policy?

          • JPK1997

A business typically operates at a certain margin… if cost goes up, they still try to maintain the same profit margin. They are likely not trying “sneaking in extra profit,” as you suggest.

        • sikntyrd

What all companies should do now is follow the lead of the utility companies. They clearly label every additional charge that the government had them add to the bill. • TLN

You are correct, the cost to the employer to cover their employees is going to be jacked up so high that neither the employee or employer will be able to afford it…amounts to extortion! If I want to keep my healthcare benefits it will cost me 40 percent more than I am paying now and for those who think it is free it is not. I pay a premium the only difference between those assess and me is I am willing to work for a living and not expect the government to take care of me!

      • Joel Macejak

It’s not about Healthcare at ALL – what it IS about is extortion !! Just give more money to the lib geniuses so they who know better can solve all of our problems – NOT !! REAL healthcare is when you make decisions based on what is best for you, with guidance from YOUR doctor(s) and within limits by COMPETING insurers !!! Nobody in their right mind WANTS the Federal government bureaucracy making THEIR healthcare decisions !!! Especially when compliance with the gov’ts “wishes” is ENFORCED by the IRS !!! Obamacare solves NOTHING – it just creates new problems over the still-unsolved old ones !!!

You know, there are thousands of charitable free clinics and emergency rooms that care for everyone that walks through their doors. You don’t need insurance to to get access to free or reduced health care.

          • https://twitter.com/AlessaRosewater Maria

I’m proof of that. I’ve gotten 30% reductions on all care I’ve needed.

          • Cyborg0012

I know. I hate the false equivalent that health insurance equals health care. It’s a flat out lie.

          • http://www.facebook.com/rod.kurth Rod Kurth

The “Affordable” Care act is a misnomer because it really does nothing to affect a change in the cost of producing health care. The real issue is that most individuals who have health insurance do little to reduce their costs. And you sighted one of the worst offenses: prescription drugs. Most who have insurance don’t care what the ACTUAL cost is — only what the co-payment is.

Some personal research in our local (Peoria IL) pharmacies should tremendous difference in prices between pharmacies. For a month’s worth of generic ritalin here are prices: CVS & Walgreens both over $100; Walmart $64; Krogers $55; but our local mom and pop pharmacy? $48.

Also, another aspect is that too many insured individuals don’t pay their co-payments or co-insurance. Our office very small private practice medical office has written off tens of thousands of dollars in 12 years of unpaid co-payments. This also adds to the high cost of health care.

I currently know that a local woman is suing her OBGYN because her baby was underweight and has on-going medical problems. She claims it was something that happened in delivery. Guess what? She’s a smoker and smoked while pregnant. Did she not read the warning label on her cigarettes? Yes, the physician will win the case, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t still costing us higher health care because so many stupid people sue doctors for inane reasons.

Anyway, my point is health insurance cost $1000 per month because we have horrible health habits — not because we have inferior health care. Decrease the demand the price goes down. Simple economics.

          • weRbroke

When people SETTLE for minimum wage jobs…for a lifetime, they missed the opportunity boat. I am sick of towing the folks that have self-inflicted stupid, and chose to limit their own potential success by making excuses NOT to pursue a REAL career.

          • https://twitter.com/AlessaRosewater Maria

Some people like me don’t qualify for insurance and therefore cannot get private insurance. But I still won’t go for Obamacare.

          • sikntyrd

My daughter doesn’t have health care either. She got a procedure done at the hospital emergency room when she almost died…and she makes payments to the hospital and doctors. They cut the cost for her to be able to afford it. So don’t tell me that we all need health care. I didn’t have health insurance before either and I did the same thing. You have to be responsible for yourself, your lifestyle, your decisions, and your future. The liberals should just grow up!!!

          • http://www.facebook.com/bruce.mcginn.7 Bruce McGinn

Walk into any emergency room in the nation and you will be seen. they cannot refuse to see you based on ability to pay…its against the law. You will be responsible for the bill but most hospitals have sliding scales based on income and will set up very reasonable payment plans. Once again a case of thinking someone else should be responsible for you.

          • https://twitter.com/AlessaRosewater Maria

You are correct. The hospital will work with you, giving you a reduction on the price if you’re uninsured and will work out a payment plan as you said. Been there, done that.

you, with guidance from YOUR doctor(s) and within limits by COMPETING
          insurers !!!”

You mean like we have now, where doctors are told by (if we are lucky) nurses that work at the insurers what they can and cannot do to treat their patients? When they are told what drugs they can and cannot prescribe based on which agreements the insurers have with big drug companies? When we pay nearly twice what many other western nations pay for the same and sometimes inferior care? THAT is preferable to you? Or are you just so naive that you don’t realize the state of US healthcare at the moment? I am not saying the ACA is the answer, but it gets a lot of reforms right that are desperately needed, but overshadowed by media coverage.

          • http://www.facebook.com/bruce.mcginn.7 Bruce McGinn

First and foremost i reject your notion that the insurance company can dictate what treatments you can get. They merely tell you what treatments are covered by the insurance plan you currently have. If you want a certain drug or treatment you can get it…you just might have to pay for it on your own. I also reject you assertion we’re twice as much for health care for inferior care. you provide no evidence. Whereas the premier of Canada came down here for treatment because he didnt want to wait 6 months for treatment in Canada. So immediate availability, newest methods, and best equipment is inferior? Pfft.

          • https://twitter.com/AlessaRosewater Maria

Obamacare will cost the consumer so much they’ll wish they had no healthcare. You don’t even know what you’re talking about.

So far all the healthcare I’ve needed has been met, and I have no insurance. There’s also already 30% discounts in effect for people who are uninsured. With OBC people will be paying more than they did without insurance.

          • sikntyrd

What is needed is the government to bug off private industry’s pay and benefits. The taxpayers have no say how much the government pays the employees – nor do they ask the taxpayers if they deserve a raise…they just do it. So how about hands off!!!

Nothing? Really? Do you actually know anything about ACA? Do you know about the requirements that providers spend a minimum percentage of your premiums on actual healthcare instead of executive bonuses? Or do you just eat up what the media spoon feeds you?

          • solidground

Do YOU know about national bankruptcy? Those are all wonderful mandated things that you mention, but they also are not sustainable. • Cyborg0012

I haven’t always had good health care, but what he says is true. The cost of goods and services will go higher on everything. Pretty soon people will have less in their pockets to provide for their family’s basic needs like food, clothing, and shelter. Also, fewer and fewer jobs will be available because employers just won’t be able to afford all the cost associated.

As I see it, supporters of Obamacare are truly greedy and selfish to want to snatch money away from hard working citizens for something they should pay for themselves. My husband and I do, so why don’t they?

@Blaine N Beckwith: I can’t remember the last time I had a job that provided healthcare. I live in an area that has very low income, and several neighboring towns drive as much as 50 miles one way to work in our city. Most of the jobs available are either part time or just small companies that don’t offer healthcare at all. I’ve only had healthcare for about 6 yrs out of my 30+ years of working. I do my best to stay healthy, (no, I don’t get state paid medical care) and try to prepare as best I can for my senior years. My point is, even though a healthcare plan would take a load off my mind, I’m TOTALLY against Obamacare. It’s bad policy no matter how you approach it and won’t be good for our country.

      • lainer51

Jealousy is such an ugly green!! Get a job with health care insurance like the rest of us have to do… may hate the job but we do what we need to do.

    • Nadine Faber

That is the problem. People who are screaming at these fast food places like Papa Johns and others are just telling it like it is. When ever taxes go up, fees, prices on anything it gets passed to the consumer. I guess Obama and his corrupt buddies have convinced those who have no clue about how business works to know “We all pay” and that is not ok. Obama, Reid, Pelosi, Holder and all of them should be paying us back for the stupid stuff they have done and the waste of Solyndra and continued waste of our tax dollars instead of trying to bleed anyone who has a job or has some kind of income to pay for their stuff too. Now they are trying to get new Dem’s by making sure welfare clients register and vote for them so they can force people into a slave/robotic state. Now is the time to stop these guys and turn the US back to what the first settlers came here for “Freedom of religion, speech, pursuit of happiness, god given rights and choices that are in the best interest of themselves and their families. These idiots who are still falling at Obama’s feet won’t be so happy if he gets another 4 years.

    • Cyborg0012

My thoughts exactly. It’ll be all goods and services. That adds up quickly. Plus, few jobs will be offered. Obamacare supporters are greedy and spoiled.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Patrick-Henry/100002185330280 Patrick Henry

If the left wants to pay more for their pizza to give healthcare to parasites then let them pay more for everything. I want to be responsible for my own healthcare and will take care of needy people who are not parasites from my OWN pocket – so I kinda like the idea of charging liberals more for items to pay for THEIR stupid feel-good programs for the hordes of parasites willing to keep taking.

    • sikntyrd

That’s the “trickle down economics” that the experts talk about…but the Democrats have not learned that yet. At least, we know for sure that Obama doesn’t know it yet. The most that get hurt is not the politicians who still keep their wealth because they don’t buy Papa John’s…they go to those nice, sit-down Italian restaurants, they get to keep their pay and benefits and still get raises, they have their awesome money market accounts that they got from insider trading, they go around and dine on the taxpayer dime – yes that’s you and me!!! But who gets hurt? Us people…the ones you work and pay the social benefits given to the “poor” people.

      • nubwaxer

“That’s the “trickle down economics” that the experts”
excuse me, which experts? seems more like what the millionaire and billionaire snivelers try baffle the ignorant bigots that are the core of the right wing.

        • FGCU_James

Hayek, Friedman, Reagan. Start there friend.

And avoid Keynesian economics like the plague, as they are what lead us to our current mess.

          • sikntyrd

Reagan? So why was the economy during Reagan’s time so great? After a Democrat president fucked it up!!!

        • sikntyrd

Definitely NOT you!!! Obviously you don’t understand economics.

    • lainer51

      Good one…. self righteous twits..

  • hwy505

Amazing those that say that they will pay extra for healthcare – notice they say 11 – 14 cents. So if a pizza is 8.00, that would be roughly a 2% increase give or take a 1/4% – tell these same people that an additional 2% to everything you purchase (food, vehicles, etc) and pay for (utilities, tuition, etc) – and see what they say then!

  • NWFL Conservative

What these hard of thinking liberal fools will never comprehend, presumably because they lack the “think for yourself” gene, is that Obama Care will NOT provide better healthcare for Americans. Just look at two countries with socialize medicine, Canada and the UK and ask them what they think about it. People in Canada who live near the US border buy US Healthcare insurance because they want BETTER HEALTHCARE.

These fools will never comprehend that you can never get something for nothing. The 47% who don’t pay taxes will just sap more out of us who do so they can have “free” healthcare. There is no free lunch and there is no such thing as free healthcare.

    Piss off, stupid liberals

    • http://www.4wheeledlefty.com/ Blane Beckwith

If you actually think that the Obama health care plan is anything close to socialized medicine, then you really are an idiot. In a true socialized medicine scenario, for-profit companies (a.k.a. HMOs) would not even exist.

After the Obama health care plan comes into play, HMOs will still reap huge profits. In fact, their profits will greatly increase because more people will be enrolled in HMOs. There is no way any of them will lose any money. Their bottom lines will still be their God.

      • http://www.facebook.com/william.hatton.31 William Hatton

They all will loose money and go out of business. Then in marches the Government to take up the slack. The insurances Co. can not deny you coverage for a any reason. So you pay the tax penalty until you get sick, buy coverage get to a doctor get well and then drop the coverage. Same thing happened when National Flood ins was first offered. No one bought it until the river started rising. But the rules changed because the program was going bankrupt. How long do you think it will take for the Insurance Co. to go broke?

        • Steve Duncan

Quite a long time, considering their costs compared to their incomes. They have been increasing profits and premiums while decreasing coverage for at least the past decade. They will be fine. If you know ANYTHING AT ALL about politics, you would know Obamacare would not have passed it there was a real threat to insurance companies. You forget who wields the power in this country.

      • Emir Ramos

It’s funny, many of the conservitives who post here and get all their info on Fox news but claim to be independent thinkers would directly benefit from this healthcare bill. I guess these people would rather cling to their ideology rather than accept that this will help them along with their families. I think it’s histerical when these folks post their right winged propganda and then go vote against THEIR OWN INTERST! At least the rich that oppose this are doing it out of greed rather than stupidity.

        • Moejj

It’s even funnier the (cough)edjoomukkaded get their disinformation from CNN, ABC, NPR, but claim to have a brain. Go figure!

        • $22639970

Explain how I benefit from another huge tax increase…and learn to think before you misspell your Obamaganda.

          • Gere Lewis

I’ve read the Affordable Care Act. have you? Most people will not pay the tax at all. They will either be covered, subsidized, or qualify for a hardship exemption. Those that will be forced to buy or pay the tax, have an income that is MORE than sufficient to do BOTH and will only be required to pay one or the other.

          • $22639970

Your sir, are a damned liar. You haven’t read the act and you and I both know it. Go sell your Maobama pimping to someone stupid enough to believe it

          • Abigail

Um more than sufficient NOW, wait another five years. Then we’ll see how many families still have more than sufficient means to pay.

          • http://archive.is Shepherd

Who are you to say that their income is sufficient? Looter.

          • AMSilver

The Wall Street Journal has gone through the bill and reported that 75% of Obamacare will be paid for by the middle class. Tell me how paying for that on top of my own insurance benefits me?

          • $22639970

“I’ve read the Affordable Care Act. have you? ”
Sure, you have. Only welfare cheats who don’t have to work for a living have the time to wade through 2,500+ pages of legalspeak.

“Most people will not pay the tax at all. They will either be covered, subsidized, or qualify for a hardship exemption.”
Translation: People who work for a living will once again be on the hook for those on the tax funded food trough.

“Those that will be forced to buy or pay the tax, have an income that is MORE than sufficient to do BOTH and will only be required to pay one or the other.”
Who in the hell gives you the right to decide what other people can afford to pay in order to salve your arrogant, guilty conscience? Why don’t you put your OWN money where your thieving mouth is and stop blaming productive wage earners and business owners for your sloth and indolence?

          • Steve Duncan

“Explain how I benefit from another huge tax increase…and learn to think before you misspell your Obamaganda.”

There are as many sources saying it will be no tax increase at all, including the CBO, as saying it will be the largest tax increase ever. And they are all likely lying. Talk about being a mushroom.

          • $22639970

There was of course the member of the house (a Republican) who openly admitted that he was taking advantage of Obama Care to keep his adult daughter covered on his insurance, at the same time he was voting to repeal it. Can’t disagree with it too much, now can he?

          • http://archive.is Shepherd

Sure I can disagree. You see that member of house does not have principles. I do. I disagree with the concept and implementation of the ACA. See how that works?

        • http://www.facebook.com/people/Patrick-Henry/100002185330280 Patrick Henry

Yeah sort of like blacks who keep voting for Democrats – talk about voting against self-interest

        • https://twitter.com/AlessaRosewater Maria

          There’s no benefit to Obamacare.

        • AMSilver

So independent thinkers drop ideology (principle) like a hot coal whenever they see something that might benefit them? Except the rich are supposed to ignore things that might benefit them or else they are greedy. So the ‘not rich’ being greedy is smart and independent-minded and to be commended, but the ‘rich’ being greedy is the source of all that’s wrong with the world? It’s funny, all of the liberals who post here can’t think their way through a coherant argument.

      • Moejj

Forcing everyone to buy insurance…what is it then?

      • $22639970

        Economic ignorance speaks!

      • Gere Lewis

I agree with this completely, but God forbid this country actually do anything about corporate greed. Our government is owned by corporations and that is why nothing gets better.

        • AMSilver

Yep, corporate greed is evil. But the greedy poor are okay. The greedy politicians are just fine. The greedy college students are nearly sainted, and the greedy middle class is beyond reproach. Can you name me someone who isn’t greedy? (And by greedy, I’m using your definition, which is ‘interested in taking in more than they absolutely need to make ends meet’) I thought liberals hated the idea of government forcing morals on people. The government is supposed to exist to protect our rights, not to force us to be angels.

      • Ken Alan Draper

Obamacare is a stepping stone to socialised medicine, you still have government bureaucrats deciding which drugs, medical procedures, will be availiable. you will still have certain drugs, & procedures banned due to cost, still have the panel that will decide that you are to young, too old, too crippled to spend “public” healthcare funds to treat. people’s religious beliefs are already being trampled by Obamacare. it is an inhumane system through & through.

        • Steve Duncan

Other than the too young/too old thing, we have had that for decades here with private insurance.

          • AMSilver

Not at all true. With private insurance, there are times when the insurer refuses to *pay* for something, but you can always choose to pay for treatment on your own. Under Obamacare, doctors who refuse to follow the ‘best practices’ outlined by the panel will be fined or imprisoned. That means that even if you want to pay for treatment on your own, you won’t be able to because it won’t be available!

      • NWFL Conservative

Sorry, but anyone from Berzerk-ly immediately is starting out with negative credibility with me. Where do you get your facts from? Most of the people I know (living in a border state) go to CANADA to access healthcare not the other way around.

      • Ken Alan Draper

I live in Indiana 150 miles from the canadian boder, our doctors have a huge Canadian patient base. the average wait time in canada to see a doctor is 6 months, if your diagnosed with cancer you get painkillers & a pamphlet on suicide, need surgury for a herniated disk? 12 month wait in canada.

      • NWFL Conservative

And just how do they do that WITHOUT Canadian citizenship? I call BS.

    • Steve Duncan

“is that Obama Care will NOT provide better healthcare for Americans.
Just look at two countries with socialize medicine, Canada and the UK
and ask them what they think about it.”

NO. The FACTS are that both Canada and the UK pay FAR LESS per capita on healthcare than America does, and both have a longer life expectancy, despite leading eaqually (in the case of Canada) or even more (in the case of the UK) sedentary lifestyles. Talk about hard of thinking.

      • http://www.facebook.com/people/Patrick-Henry/100002185330280 Patrick Henry

Yeah and that’s why Canadians near the US border keep coming here for medical care – because they get their care alright – but MONTHS of waiting is involved. Hugo Chavez flew to CUBA for his medical care because he has ruined the medical system of Venezuela. I wonder where Obama will go for medical treatment once we are stuck with Obamacare…

      • https://twitter.com/AlessaRosewater Maria

Their taxes are much much higher.

  • JoeMyGod

Papa John’s JUST reported a record 22% increases in profits on a record quarterly increase in revenues. Their stock price has skyrocketed 27% in the last three months alone. Yeah, he’s REALLY hurting in the Obama economy. But all those millions are not enough if it means having to toss a few pennies at the feet of sick employees. Totally Romney material. Repulsive.

Profits are to be loathed? Why, that is perfect Obama material. You do realize, don’t you, that the price of everything will rise as a result of the ACA? Have fun with that when interest rates are allowed to rise, food prices soar due to droughts and energy policy, and the EPA’s version of Cap and Trade takes full effect…

    • dominigan

Did you fail math? 12-14 cents is PER PIZZA. Do you know how many pizzas they make a day? My son works there. My guess is that its HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS A DAY PER LOCATION. And this is in the pizza industry where margins are thin and competition is full bore. You also probably didn’t take any business classes either, otherwise you’d know that most of those profits get re-invested into the business to continue to grow it. It isn’t “repulsive”… it puts people to work creating and delivering a product that people want. You probably think jobs are evil too, right?

    • rickg62

Sure their profits may have soared. Did your feeble brain ever think of why? With this economy if people decide to take a night off from cooking going to a regular restaurant is becoming harder, if not impossible. Where people may have been used to going out and spending $30-$50 dollars, now $10-$15 on pizza is the alternative. Obviously you understand nothing about business or economics. They already offer insurance to full and part-time employees. The cost of this is going up, despite what Obama claims. Along with their costs, all of their suppliers will be in the same boat. All cost will go up. The suppliers customers are businesses like Papa Johns. The costs will be passed on. The costs have to come from someplace. They, as a corporation, have a responsibility to their shareholders and investors to have a return on their investment. Everything that you own or consume has a multitude of businesses involved in it all the way back to their raw materials. So, wake up, take your head out of the sand (I’m being polite) and learn a little about the world around you.

      • JoeMyGod

Scream all you want. The Affordable Care Act is constitutional per the Supreme Court and it’s here to stay. Nothing short of a repeal by constitutional amendment could change that and I presume you know how impossible that would be as a down vote by a mere 13 blue states would kill any attempt. The northeast states could practically do it all by themselves. The president will veto any defunding attempt, of course. And if you think Romney will be your savior, I suggest checking out today’s Fox News poll showing the president’s widening lead.(Almost ten points!) Even right-leaning sites are showing Obama with a commanding Electoral College lead just short of his 2008 landslide of 365-173. The only *remotely* glimmer of hope for the GOP at this points seems to be a convention revolution against the presumptive nominee, which would, I confess, be fascinating to witness.

        • $22639970

“The Affordable Care Act is constitutional per the Supreme Court and it’s here to stay.”
Well, that makes it alright then, just like Plessy vs Ferguson.

        • rickg62

Your ignorance is showing again. First, Obama is not guaranteed to win. Rasmussen shows Romney ahead by 4 points. The Fox News poll is among registered voters. Big difference between that and people who will vote. If you look inside the poll it’s a dead heat among those classified as “extremely interested” voters. Those are the ones most likely to be deciding the election. Now, if Romney wins, contrary to your belief, it does not take a constitutional amendment to overturn Obamacare just because the Court said it was constitutional a a tax. If the Republicans take the Senate along with the White House it can be overturned in Congress. Obamacare is not part of the Constitution.

        • Grumpa Grumpus

          Why yes.
SCOTUS also affirmed slavery via Dred Scott.

    • Gere Lewis

When the option is that or not having access to medical treatment at all? It’s not much of a choice is it?

      • Ken Alan Draper

where can you go in this country & not have access to healthcare? you go to the emergency room they are required by law to treat you whether you can pay or not, that’s part of what makes healthcare so expensive, the hospitals have to overcharge those who can pay to cover the expense of providing care to those who can’t. a fact the illegal immigrant community has used for years. I once nearly got my thumb cut off at work, I had to wait 4 hours in the ER to be seen because there were a lot of Illegals in line ahead of me getting treated for minor ailments (cold, flu, etc.) lucky for me that I wasn’t bleeding to badly.

      • http://archive.is Shepherd

What are you talking about? Stop with the FUD. There are plenty of uninsured filling up the ER’s and clinics in my part of the country.

The difference between the right and left, the right act like adults and work out things for themselves, the left act like children and expect the right to pay for things for them. I pay for healthcare for my family. I work and pay my taxes. I don’t want to pay for anyone else and I certainly don’t want someone paying for me.

      • http://giantsgiantsgiants.blogspot.com/ David Malbuff

The liberal gimme-dis-gimme dat fo free crowd cannot do simple math. At 14 cents per pizza, times 5 million pizzas—- that is the ACTUAL estimated cost to fund what is in effect a Democrat Jobs Bill for Democrats…. $700,000 in revenues FROM ONE US BUSINESS. 150 chains/franchise corporations, food or non-food, $105 BILLION going to the Federal government BUREAUCRATS, who do not know anything about Doctors, Medicine, running hospitals (the VA DOH!), or running things with any kind of efficiency. It is a cash grab for Federal revenues…. ultimately it will fail because it is too big of a deal for the Federal government to implement and run with any kind of efficacy. It’s going to cost a lot more than 14 cents per pizza…..what is the COST PER PATIENT per PATIENT action in the system? Will it be as affordable as all those Green Jobs The “PResident” created at about $250,000 a pop? Enough is enough.

The supposed poor will DEMAND to be taken care of, and we will be vilified for having independent thought, and a drive to succeed. This all reminds me of atlas shrugged. In some ways I wish some mysterious man like John Galt would come here and take away all the rich ansd wealthy, and just like in the book and m0ovie tell the world he has finally gotten rid of the evil people in the world…..the rich and wealthy. It’s even worse than that. Obama’s ‘policies’, if he wins, will cause revolt from our side eventually. We will be driven to desparation, and the rat bastards are doing it on purpose to usher in a ‘socialist utopia’. In their feeble minds.

Paying is objective. “Fair share” is subjective.

      • rickg62

What do you consider “their fair share”? It’s nice to regurgitate talking points and slogans. Try answering a valid question.

        • http://KaterinaGasset.com CoachKaterina

There is no fair share because taxation is looting. It is taking from those who earned to give to those who don’t. If that keeps going on then no one will want to start businesses and no one will work. That is how that goes. It has happened over and over again in other countries.

          • http://gcgbrewing.com Andrew

Taxes pay for much more than just welfare and food stamps. Do you drive on roads? Those aren’t sponsored by FedEx or Coca-Cola. Do you enjoy freedoms provided by your military? yep, paid by tax dollars. Need I go on? Taxation is not looting. That is just ridiculous.

          • http://archive.is Shepherd

Actually, please go on. What is ridiculous is all of the crap that we pay taxes for. Provide for the national defense, fine. Everything else, feels like looting to me. Especially when we see what the ROI is for our tax dollars.

And we are not even getting national defense! What the Federal government is SUPPOSED to be doing they are willfully ignoring. It’s time we FIRE every last FEDERAL government employee all the way up to the President because none of them are doing the jobs they are supposed to be doing!

          • http://www.facebook.com/people/Patrick-Henry/100002185330280 Patrick Henry

So with your logic then people getting government handouts should not be able to use the roads, the public water system, electricity and anything else “built” by taxes right? If it is pay to use then half the country is SOL because they are NOT paying taxes

          • https://twitter.com/AlessaRosewater Maria

Sucks to be the non-tax payers then.

          • Cyborg0012

            Nicely played, sir.

          • Steve Duncan

@Katerina Taxation is looting? Wow talk about clueless. Where do you think your roads comes from? Your power lines? Police and fire coverage? Water from the sink? The facilities for all the imported goods you buy? It’s a shame all those people are taking from those who earned and giving to those who don’t, otherwise you’d be stuck living in a shack without electricity or plumbing while you worried when the next looter was going to come take your stuff.

          • http://archive.is Shepherd

The majority of services that you mentioned are paid for by local taxes. As a republican, I’m fine with fighting the tax battle locally. Once it gets to Washington, then it is looting.

Also, I would never be stuck in a shack without electricity or water or roads, well, because I’m a bit more resilient than that. You see, I don’t need the government for my generators or wells or my roads even. Especially don’t need the government for schools. Maybe for an army to defend the borders and me from looters. But I have the 2nd amendment for that. Wow, look how that works. The internet I am on, yep – I built that and have redundancy. So the list is very short for what *I* need the government for.

      • vphilly

“none of them pay their fair share of taxes” Prove this with facts, or it’s not true.

      • $22639970

They pay more than their so-called “fair share” because they hire people and have to listen to welfare cheats like you claim they owe you even more money for your doing nothing!

        • Steve Duncan

Actually, quite a few of them pay nothing at all through judicious use of tax shelters and questionable accounting, which does not fit anyone’s definition of “fair share”.

          • http://www.facebook.com/bruce.mcginn.7 Bruce McGinn

            Name them.
and then lets point out the generational welfare state who have never paid a dime in taxes yet get a place to live, food, and money.

          • http://www.facebook.com/people/Patrick-Henry/100002185330280 Patrick Henry

don’t forget they get cell phones too oh and many of them are able to afford flat screen TV and hummers too

          • $22639970

Bullshit! The only people using questionable accounting are the thugs for Pootie Tang’s regime, like Treasury Secretary Timmy Geithner. And my definition of “fair share” is the government and envy pimps like you leaving productive people the hell alone, so get a job and put your OWN money where your selfish mouth is.

      • http://archive.is Shepherd

Childish retort. “none of them” Do you mean GE or GM? I agree with those companies not having a voice, but they bought and sold Obama years ago.

lol… you know for being the ‘educated and enlightened’ crowd liberals sure are stupid… its called extrapolation geniuses.. Oo

guess I’ll have to order more PJ pizza to with my Chick-Fil-A…..liberals…what a bunch of freakin’ crybaby a$$es

  • jmz

These morons say they are happy to pay more money for someone elses healthcare, then they should have bought these people healthcare in the firstplace. These fools dont get that its not just Papa Johns cost will go up but EVERYONES cost will go up, for everything you do. go ahead moron libs and boycott PJ, your costs will still go up, and watch they will be the FIRST to cry as costs DO go up.

    • Moejj

That’s what you get when brainless sheeple swallow everything spewed at them from the LameStream Media. Scares me these buffons can vote.

  • Autiger

sorry ObamaZombies you werent buying pizza anyways they dont take EBT cards

  • Chris Smith

You all sound like a bunch of Liberal cry babies. First off, you have to work full time, at least in Indiana to be offered benefits. Do I see anything wrong with that, no. Or have we forgot that nothing in life is free. Oh wait, yes it is, at the expense of tax payer money. We need more uneducated and lazy people sucking on the Government tit. That’s really working out for us. Many small buisnesses are going have to lay people off because of Osamacare. I guess having benefits is better than having a job? The unemployment rate has more than doubled since Osama took office, but that’s ok. Osama is destroying the Country we once knew. Just wait until you have no more freedoms left, then you’ll be bitching and crying. Let the Liberal flaming begin. Yeah, I tell it, how it is. If that offends you, to damn bad. I’m not going to sit by and watch Osama destroy this country. While the hard working Americans work their asses off, to support the lazy.

    • Gere Lewis

You seem to be operating under some serious delusions. Most people that will be HELPED by the Affordable Care Act DO work full time. They pay their taxes, both income and property. These are people who, far from being uneducated, have college degrees. You see, you say “liberal” like it’s a bad thing. It must be terrible to be so incredibly selfish that you cannot see beyond your own nose. Liberals, in general, are in favor of paying higher taxes to fund social programs instead of letting fellow human beings die in the street. It’s corporate and tea bagger greed that feeds Fox news, which in turn, feeds selfish, greedy people like yourself into believing that you’re a good person.

      • https://twitter.com/AlessaRosewater Maria

Aww name calling. How sweet of you. Teabaggers. Yes, we Tea Partiers teabag unfair practices and anything that is not right for our nation!

  • michael klahn

who believes that this is only about Papa John’s? add a few pennies on to everything you buy ,everything, this year.and then realize it will be next year and the next and so on forever.pretty soon it starts to add up to real money. not for the retailer ,but, for the consumer who ultimately pays all the taxes.

  • Ross Crampton

Here’s the problem…it’s not just Papa Johns that will increase their prices a bit. Everything you buy at the grocery store will be a little more….gas a little more…clothes a little more….it a’int just about pizza….it adds up!

    • dominigan

Also the problem is that the increase is NEVER what is predicted. Income taxes were initially 3-5%. Social Security was initially set at 2%. After several years, the healthcare costs will be much more than 12-14 cents/pizza. And what liberals don’t appreciate is that 12-14 cents per pizza is quite a bit considering the thin margins of pizza places!

  • http://www.facebook.com/chris.burr.5 Chris Burr

What a bunch of morons…..Yes it’s just 12-14 cents per pizza, but that’s one business…..If Obamacare is going to make their prices go up, so will other businesses……It’ll be 15 cents more for a toothbrush……20 cents more for a hairdryer…….10 cents more for hammer……30 cents more for pack of batteries……12 cents per pound for hamburger meat…….etc……….See where I’m going with this?…….Was it that hard to understand?……

    • crosshaironU

add all the farmers ,cheese maker, transportation etc mark up and some how I think .14 cent is just the tip of the ice burg

    • Jennifer Pilger McCoombe

Once those items go up then the pizza will go up in price again to keep up with the cost of the hamburger and other items they put on them. It is a no win situation with obamacare!

  • dzobels

It amazes me how many readers misunderstand a simple statement. The CEO is stating a fiscal fact – the estimated added cost to his business to meet the bureaucratic requirements of complying with the Affordable Care Act. There is no statement that Papa John’s doesn’t have health insurance now – just that it will cost more – yet some comments criticize a simple math statement and make into a moral judgement. I’m getting tired.

  • Howard Wolcott

Ok , let me get this straight . They are going to boycott PJ because they want PJ to pay into health care ? But if they boycott and sales go down , people get laid off right ? Now they have no job or health Insurance ? Mindless !!!!

    • JRT256

You got it! Leftists are mindless. At last they don’t possess critical thinking skills.

      • dominigan

You can lead a liberal to logic, but you can’t make him think!

        • https://twitter.com/AlessaRosewater Maria

So stealing that for my Facebook quotes. Giving you the cred.

    • Moejj

makes a lotta’ sense doesn’t it. But they won’t be able to afford to buy pizza, because most of’m will be out of a job when this crap gets rammed thru. Oh, you’ll have healthcare, but no car, no home, no food because you won’t have a job.

  • Ken H.

what isn’t clear to me – does Papa John’s currently provide health insurance for their employees? If so, then the additional cost is an additional burden. If they don’t provide health insurance and will be required to do so, then of course prices will have to go up. It just seems that the entire picture isn’t clear here…

    • Jennifer Pilger McCoombe

      yes they provide insurance

    • dominigan

I think its both. My son works at Papa John’s. Most workers are part time. Only full time (managers) and corporate get healthcare benefits. Obamacare will force them to cover more people, and the costs will go up for that coverage.

  • Michael Bowen Roberts

Personally i want my 4th amendments rights,my miranda rights inforced not envoked,my 14th amendment rights returned and protect the constitution by protecting it with temporary changes or Papa John you will be the last of a dying breed free successful men, vote for the best candidate not the party or here comes the crooks, vote for individuals not tickets pass the message do some research before that right is stripped from us as well the media is being controlled and we look to non american media to here the truth all this politsizing is goning on look at the public record, At the rate we are going sales are going to drop soon cause we won’t be able to afford a pizza delivered on the extra gas to go get outside of the shopping tripWAKE UP AMERICA!!!!!!!!

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Mark-Smego/100000213094347 Mark Smego

Does Papa John’s not carry insurance for their employees now? The only thing I’m hearing is the 11 to 14 cents is to pay for obamacare,(you know the 17,000 IRS agents and 159 new Gov’t agencies it takes the Government to run obamacare, for starters. You know it’ll expand and expand.) Why do liberals find it necessary to force everyone to do what THEY want.

    • $22639970

“Why do liberals find it necessary to force everyone to do what THEY want.” Because they’re too lazy and/or stupid to get a job and pay their own way like adults.

  • Diane Stephan

What is the power that this dope Obozo holds over you people? I really want to know? I have never seen such attacks on people who disagree with an Administration in past Presidencies. Very scarey.

  • religionandhistory

Obamacare will bankrupt or deplete all remaining capital every company forced to pay through the nose for inferior government imposed health care may still have . The unions squandered billions and the gov. is bailing out those who dumped huge chunks of payola into Dem. candidates campaigns.

  • Jennifer Pilger McCoombe

PapaJohns taste way better than little Ceasars and I wouldn’t pay 5 dollars for one of their pizzas but all you jerks who say you would pay more for a Papa Johns Pizza tell that to Ceasars. You know their CEO has millions as well.

  • SupportMcCarthyism

Obama’s worshipers will never proclaim him to be wrong on “anything”. America needs “Obama’care'” like we need Obama. Obama and his worshipers are just a cancer on society.

  • http://www.facebook.com/simeym1 Simey Mueller

So what 14 cents a pizza, if you can’t afford that, then you best not be eating out, I’m a Brit living in the USA and thought your FIRST AMMENDMENT was freedom of speech so there is nothing wrong with making the statement that they want to, Go PAPA JOHNS I’ll SUPPORT YOU ALL THE WAY, and probably spend more money for all the customers that you may be losing, after all for example Chick fil a didnt not lose out by all that happened with them don’t see you losing out either

    • no_limit_neckbeard

American liberals only believe in freedom of speech as long as everything you say agrees with them.

  • Donna W

Papa Johns is my dad’s favorite pizza place. Their thin-crust veggie pizzia is one of the few things that my mom can still eat now. See, Mom has ALS, and dad takes care of her – along with me & hospice (and he’s already seeing his premiums going up, copays going up, prescripts going up) …Seems fitting that Papa J’s is at the center of controversy now, since Obamacare will go after the elderly, and infirm too. I think Papa’s CEO was just trying to say that everything is going to go higher…but all the Left sees is ‘greed’. Prices aren’t going to go down if you’re a Dumbocrat – you’ll be stuck in the same boat as the rest of us. And sorry you voted for that man, as you watch your paddle break!

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Cathy-Hess/1039790085 Cathy Hess

Not sure what to do. I have sorta boycotted Papa Johns since March because they gave in to leftists fascists and pledge never to provides ads during Rush’s shows. Now it sounds like I need to support them again.

  • PBKRanger

I’ll go to Papa John’s if they’ll refund me my $0.14; I’ll give it to a charity that promotes life, not abortion.

i support papa jhons if we do not stop obama and his lies it will be more than 14cents when will people get it nothing is free .but for those who have worked all thier lives and now need a helping hand no problem or those who need some help for food but not the ones who just take like obama wants he is the biggest food stamp person ive ever seen he dose not no how to run an economy vote mitt to save america

People hear ‘free healthcare’ but fail to remember that nothin is free. Especially under Obama’s regime. Keep on Papa John’s.

  • $22639970

These dumbasses don’t realize that Mr. Schnatter is talking about ObamanationCare adding 14 or 15 cents to every single business product transaction in the U.S., raising costs to everyone for everything. It’s called “ripple effect”, boneheads!

  • Joe_in_Jersey

They obviously don’t know how franchises work. Unless you work for corporate, or a corporate-owned store, you’re not really a Papa John’s employee; you’re an employee of an LLC with franchise rights to use the name. Health coverage is up to the individual franchisee, not corporate. I’ve worked for 3 different Domino’s franchisees and only one provided health insurance; and even then you had to work a certain number of hours per week to get it.

    • pepjrp

Excellent post Joe as i was nearly going to say the same thing. And yes, they don’t know, but think they are all entitled to it.

  • Ken Alan Draper

10-14 cents sounds like chicken feed till you multiply it by the number of employees. then it becomes a huge number real quick. what good is giving everyone access to free healthcare if 3/4 of the medical procedures are banned by the government, anyone who doesn’t have another 20 years till retirement gets refused treatment, & cancer is seen as terminal even in it’s early stages & thus denied treatment? all which has happened in other countries that have socialised healthcare.

  • Sherrie Cain

The wealthy currently pay 70% of taxes, while nearly 50% of Americans ( many of whom, I’d bet, are the foul mouthed ones posting here) pay 0%. This IS unfair: to the rich. Ok let’s make themand yours tooss pay 90% of taxes. All the people who will no longer have to work for welfare don’t have a dog in this fight. Guess what! they’re getting tired of paying EVERYBODY’S share and they’re leaving. Where will you find someone to use and abuse then?

The garlic butter sauce that comes with every regular-crust pizza is great. Their garlic parmesan breadsticks are so addictive they should be classified as a controlled substance.

      • https://twitter.com/AlessaRosewater Maria

You said it! Personally, I love their regular breadsticks. The dough is so firm and when it’s hot it’s soooo good. Can eat a whole box!

  • Ken Alan Draper

    “sigh!” Will liberals never learn?

  • Mark_Reno_Hart

OK 2600 stores in the US alone and each store does 100 pizzas per day at .10 cents is 26,000.00 per day. But remember you have around 10 employees per store, so that’s 26 k (could be more or less) in the stores alone and the cost of health insurance is going to be high so it very well may take every penny of what is brought in to give them health insurance or he could just opt out and pay the fine. Now to hear the liberals talk you should bite the bullet and pay it yourself, but I would tell you ass hole liberals to just bite it too !!!

  • http://www.facebook.com/sjbrown50 Steve J. Brown

The BIG PICTURE is, all small business, not just Fast food establishments. It WILL be $ 0.14 on other things,as well, IE: the cost to ship the food(gas will increase)product prices will increase. The $0.14 will ADD UP. WOW! no wonder we are in this position OBAMA’s follower’s don’t even understand the Band Wagon they ALL jumped on!! let alone how to ADD!
    Shheeeeeesh.

  • Dirk Noel Theriault

I’ve read the comments up to this point. Most, angry, some whiny and a few downright vulgar…a characteristic exhibited by those frustrated because they cannot present a logical defense of their position. Please let me try to put this issue into its proper perspective! Virtually every employer in the nation will be affected by this healthcare mandate, so this is not just about pizza, it’s about every manufacturer, vendor, service provider and the cost of their materials. Starting to get the picture? The cost of everything goes up and is passed down to you, the consumer. Not a desirable scenario in an already inflated economy, or a healthy economy for that matter. Couple that with the mandated tax and the threat of jail time for those who don’t (or can’t) comply and fines for those who choose not to participate. Suddenly there is less food on your table, and you’re struggling to keep the lights turned on. Remember, the increased cost of living is passed down to everyone, including the poor! Do we need an affordable healthcare plan? Absolutely! BUT NOT THIS ONE!! It was ill conceived, hastily designed and is loaded with pork! Why do you suppose it was thrown together behind closed doors? Why did it have to be passed before we could see what was in it? While it has a couple of great features, (i.e.the exclusion of preexisting condition rules) there are simply not enough redeeming factors to make it an efficient program. It needs to be streamlined to be more cost effective. I believe individual states need a freer hand in the administration of any mandated healthcare plan.

  • Terry Clapp

No wonder there are so many unemployed out there. Papa John’s is required by law to notify shareholders and stakeholders of anything that would substantially affect the value of their products and hence the value of the shareholders stock. People are missing the point, he wasn’t doing this as a political commentary but as an update on something that would substantially add to the costs of the product.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Robert-Eagle/1603783368 Robert Eagle

What really gets me is someone starts a rumor and the liberals don’t bother to check facts they just run with what they have and the truth be damned! People need to start thinking for themselves and not rely on all the one sided media crap whether it is left sided or right sided. Media will print a story just to cause dissent and look at what it does. Folks, you need to realize that the media no longer reports news but provides entertainment articles to keep your mind off the problems at hand in the country! While you are worried about Papa John’s and a few cents, billions are being given away to greedy political cronies! Ask questions like how did Harry Reid become a millionare only after he became a politician! Why workers at Pelosi’s husband’s business don’t make at
    least minimum wages!

“First Chick-fil-A and now Papa John’s: could it soon be possible in a moment of hunger to forget just whom to boycott and why?”

That’s rich, considering a gold star, true blue conservative who listens
to the press releases of every “pro-family” organization would
    presently be boycotting:

Sears, JC Penney, Disney Starbucks, Amazon, Target, Ben and Jerry’s,
Home Depot and General Mills. Just off the top of my head. But I guess
when you have the memory of a guppy it takes all the mental energy you
can muster to remember the two boycotts leftists have going let alone
all the ones on your own side.

    • https://twitter.com/AlessaRosewater Maria

Yes, Lefties do have memories of guppies. But we Righties aren’t immature little sheep who boycott places that have their own opinions. We shop wherever places have good prices and good food! That is why most of us don’t support Obamacare and won’t eat Little Caesars. Too expensive and tastes like crap.

  • Dave T.

The administration does not like the truth. Fact is, Obamacare is going to pass on the tremendous cost to their customers, there is no choice in that. At least there is someone out there that has the courage to tell the truth about the negative impact that Obamacare will have on everyone. To hide this truth, Obama has created divisiveness and class warfare using the media. Reading some of the posts here, it is working on those who choose not to see the facts. CNN “fact checker” is an administrative tool used to deceive and further divide class. Educate yourself before you believe a “fact checker” by the media. It is easy to see why CNN has broken historic low ratings. Recommend a quick education on Obamacare from the CATO Institute:

  • jeffofnh

The great leftist lie and their version of trickle down economics. All those taxes, and fees are eventually passed on to the middle class and poor through the cost of products & services. Also, job loss due to cost of doing business. Make no doubt about it, IT WILL COST JOBS!

Look at the big picture people….government run healthcare=americans controlled by the government. States offer assistance to the uninsured and underinsured, you have government assistance policies in place meant to cripple the working man all to brainwash them into blindly following the men in power like lemmings. Every choice, every freedom we allow to be taken away in a notch in the belt for this nation to rear itself as a socialist society. We are allowed freedom of speech and the right to not accept everything that is being shoved down our throats. If someone does not agree with Obamacare or Same Sex Marriage that is their right under our constitution to be able to state that and not be bullied into accepting it! THAT IS CALLED FREEDOM! wake up and educate yourselves about what is going on in this country.

  • MefromtheOC .

From the “Affordable Healthcare Act” ** Page 58 and 59: The government will have real-time access to an individual’s bank account and will have the authority to make electronic fund transfers from those accounts.

Everyone spews bullshit ideals but when its time to pay the check you two faced S-O-B’s don’t mind standing at my counter pissing and moaning over the cost you volunteered to pay but expected someone else to foot.

  • Tony Sterrett

    Hoax
Why wouldn’t they just get a major company exemption?

Good point.Pappa Johns is either too big to fail or to competent to not fail as many of the loons who attack PJ’s or Chik-Fil-A are finding out.

I love Papa Johns Pizza & I think Obama is a useless game show host. if he wants me to have health ins then he can pay for it, otherwise–I’M GOOD-leave me alone

  • http://www.facebook.com/buddude2469 John Harbert

All of you people don’t realize that 15 to 20 cents per pizza and 15 to 20 cents on everything else you buy adds up to a lot of money….I hope you can pay your bills when it is implemented. I like the idea of everyone having healthcare, but I do not like Obama or his plan! You people evidently cannot see what Barrack is doing to this country. I am not a very political person, but even the blind can see what he is up to.

Sometimes the truth hurts. Obamacare will be one of the worst things for the United States once people see just how much everything is going to cost after 2013 when all of the really bad things were purposely timed to start. Conveniently after the election so more people will not know what it was all about.
Congress needs to investigate the eligibility or lack of it for Mr.
Obama. There is more evidence that he is not eligible than we have seen
    for him
    being eligible.

The people of the United States deserve the truth !!!

  • Rich Lavino

I’m sure Papa John’s offers a full benefit package to their full time employees. That’s number one. Number two, why is it greed when you want to keep your money but not greed when you want more of it from others?

  • http://www.facebook.com/toddntina.brown Todd Brown

lol it is not the 11 cents on a pizza that pays for health care it is the rise in the cost of everything we buy!! you all cant really be this stupid! also I think it is silly for most of you to imply that no one that works for Papa Johns is offered healthcare those are just dumb statements

  • http://pennyrobinsonfanclub.net/ Penny Robinson Fan Club

Well Papa John is my preferred provider of pepperoni anyway -among the chains – so they’re definitely on the top of my list now! Got no Little Caesar’s around me any more . . anybody know what kind of political baggage Dominoes might carry?

    • https://twitter.com/AlessaRosewater Maria

I think Dominoes stays out of it. lol

Nice to see how the Party of Tolerance and Respect speaks to those who disagree with them. Honest to God, have you all actually read some of those messages up there???? It’s like some lurid slasher movie or something.

  • John Greggory Kemp

Boycott Papa John’s, More pizza for me!!!

  • Bill Hope

    Seriously I love how it’s
always class warfare with the Libs….Yeah 14 cents a pie doesn’t seem
like a lot at first and it looks like Papa John’s is just being
corporate fat cats but how about we put it in perspective. How would
you like to have to pay 14 cents extra on EVERYTHING you buy? The whole
point is this it’s not just Papa John’s but everything else will go up
because ALL businesses will have to pass on those cost to the consumers. It’s how business has to be run but seeing that Obama and most of his Liberal flunkies have sucked on the Gov’t teet so long they know nothing about how the real world works.

  • jennfire

15 Cents here, there and everywhere, and soon that 15Cents becomes $15.00 and continues to double over and over as every business raises their prices too. It isn’t only Papa Johns, it is every kind of food in your grocery, you gas, your Doctor, your RX, and on and on. If it was on 15 Cents, everyone would be going for it. LOOK at the big picture, folks.

  • Tree Rat

To Rachel Caine: Just remember, the pizza is not the ONLY thing you will be paying more for. EVERYTHING will be going up. Hope you enjoy the rise in prices. Because the only thing that likely WON’T go up is our paycheck. Of course, Washington won’t care because THEY WON’T BE ON OUR HEALTHCARE PLAN. They will be on the “pampered plan”, and of course, WE get to pay for THEIR plan, too !

I don’t agree with Obamas health care it’s not making it any easier for people to get health insurance if you couldn’t afford it before what makes you think that ppl can afford it now? They have not dropped the premiums for health care but, if you don’t get it you will be taxed. Ok how is that fair or helping the AMERICAN people some people live week to week what are they suppose to do not pay there mortgage so they can have health insurance while living in a box. Come on now people honestly have you read the health care plan thoroughly no where does it say we will go by your income to base your premium for health care. Just for myself and my husband our premium is over 600 a month how many of you can honestly afford that a month? What about your parents that can’t afford it or your siblings. All his health care plan is doing is MAKING all AMERICANS get something whether they can afford it or not or be taxed or fined. Sure don’t buy food for your family or pay your power bill, Obama healthcare plan is so much better to spend that money on. I’m sure you would rather sweat and live in the dark than not have health insurance.

  • https://twitter.com/AlessaRosewater Maria

Those idiots don’t realize that if Papa John paid for his employees’ insurance out of his own money not only would that be a bad business practice, but illegal (it could be construed as a bribe). Anyone who’s taken a course in business knows this. Of course most of the people who spoke above against Papa John’s have most likely never been to college or if they have, didn’t pay attention. Yes, Papa John’s employees do have insurance (they can opt-in), but Obamacare is going to override any small business’ healthcare.
Obamacare is VERY EXPENSIVE and doesn’t cover hardly anything. I have used Obamacare PCIP before and it cost me $400 for one procedure that without insurance would have cost me $135. It also costs $200 per month per person using it whether they need it that month or not. So, at the end of the month I was owing OBC PCIP $600 plus the $10 charge at the doctor, rather than the $135 I would have normally paid. I will gladly pay the 1% Obamacare tax and opt out of his insurance. It will be cheaper.
And lastly, on the whole issue of how much stuff Papa John has in his house and cars and all. Who cares? HE WORKED HIS ASS OFF to acquire what wealth he has. This is a free country (for now unless OB gets re-elected) and he deserves what he’s earned. STOP being jealous and try to better yourself. Maybe you’ll have wealth too. Oops…maybe not since Obama is killing the job market.. Blame him. He built that.

  • spin43

Most of the Obumer supporters are not working so they have time to write about their false prophet.

  • linda

I’ll be eating more Papa Johns now.

  • carmijok

So if everyone boycotts businesses that pass their costs on to consumers because of this insidious TAX being foist upon us by Obamacare, then I guess all businesses will go down the tubes and Obama will have what he’s wanted all along…total dependence on government. Only who’s going to be paying into the government?

  • nubwaxer

John Mackey (Whole Foods) and now “Papa” John Schattner (Papa John’s Pizza) are two of the leaders of the sniveling billionaires club.

  • sox83cubs84

  • spooky2626

Papa John’s is a business so they could make MONEY and put people to WORK.

  • spooky2626

Papa John’s will make money and the buyer of the pizza is helping out the economy out when he or she bites into a good pizza

  • John W. Kerr

I just love reading the tasteless, classless, gutteral low life retorts of the marxist liberals. It goes a long way to remove any doubt concerning their HATE based miserable excuses for an existence!

People who do not understand the difference between 14 CENTS and 14 PERCENT should also not be allowed the use the computer without their parents consent.

  • bmwdude

So, providing health care coverage for 30 Million Americans is going to add 1% to the cost of food. I’m down with that. Only a greedy asshole wouldn’t be.

  • Buffynoel

Some don’t get it! Obamacare is NOT People Health Care! GO Papa John’s! Our family support’s you!
