Just in case you had any remaining delusions that the modern labor movement cares about its members’ jobs, note that the union top brass are all coming to President Obama’s big rally tomorrow in favor of “immigration reform.” Everyone will be on hand: Richard Trumka, the purple people beaters from the SEIU, everyone! What does Obama’s accelerated path to citizenship do for American union workers? Well, nothing — except maybe put them out of work in favor of lower wage non-union former-illegals. However, if you’re a labor mafia boss, amnesty means lots more people from whom to extort money.

Then again, maybe these endorsements are the best argument to turn people away from the idea of amnesty. Seriously, with friends like these, who needs enemies? If legalization meant dealing with union intimidation all the time, maybe fewer people would want it.

That’s it. If the SEIU, the AFL-CIO and the United Farm Workers are for it, I’m against it.

Illegal Immigration suppresses wages and employment. If they really were loyal to their members, Unions would be a foremost opponent to illegal immigration

    • Michael Johnson

They are against illegal immigration. (Unlike the corporations that benefit from cheap labor). That’s why the unions support immigration reform.

      • SideshowJon36

Still a detriment to their current membership. New low wage labor entering the work force would still suppress wages and employment. Although business would at least be forced to pay min. wage

But they’re for the shamnesty, which rewards the illegals already here. So they’re not really against illegal immigration if they think it is OK to reward it.

Naturally the unions will oppose and enough proficiency requirement. They know that purple that are linguistically isolated are easier to manipulate, control, and abuse. After all, criminal gangs have been taking advantage if this fact for decades.
Declining private sector union memberships and expansion if right-to-work have made union thugs even more desperate and more violent. Combined with democrats blocking every but of legislation to overturn the immunity given unions by SCOTUS and you have a very dangerous situation. Far more dangerous than any limited government or tea party group that Bummer is afraid of.

Undocumented Democrats soon to be documented

However, it will still be considered racist to desire to see those documents before they vote or get a driver’s license

If I shared the same last name as these arses, I’d change it quicker than Bill could define “sexual relations”.

It has always amazed me that Latinos don’t seem to realized that their stand on immigration is self defeating. I suppose when they are displaced by their fellows it will dawn but be too late. Ican only picture it as they are led drooling and cheering down the garden path by Bam.

How can the unions extort money from newly legal immigrants? Unless the Crooks & Rapists Union Local 666 is for real.
