See the math problems that set off this NY DJ’s anti-Common Core rant

By night he’s a DJ at Perfection Gentleman’s Club in Queens, New York and other venues. By day, he’s another dad struggling to help his daughter with her Common Core math homework.

The New York State Common Core math curriculum asks students to “Use math drawings to represent subtraction with up to two decompositions and relate drawings to a written method.” A clearly frustrated DJ Paul vented on Instagram:

NYS COMMON CORE MATHEMATICS CURRICULUM… WHY ARE THEY MAKING EASY MATH PROBLEMS MORE CONFUSING FOR KIDS THAN IT ALREADY IS! THEY NEED TO CHANGE IT BACK TO THE WAY WE USE TO DO IT BACK IN THE DAYS! THIS IS RETARDED! #nyselementaryschools #nys #newyorkstate #nysboardofeducation #boardofeducation #boardofed
