Protesters from the Fair Immigration Reform Movement interrupted a House Subcommittee on Immigration hearing on asylum fraud today with chants of “Citizenship now! Families Together!”
Politico reports that a “new, more aggressive campaign kicks off Tuesday, when these [immigration rights] groups say they will begin confronting Republican lawmakers at public appearances, congressional hearings and events back in home districts.”
Amy Grenier, an organizer and research assistant at the Immigration Policy Center, live-tweeted the hearing, summarizing comments by House Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.).
