‘I wanna scalp her’: Palin haters fall for obviously fake ‘Indian’ quotes, hurl nastygrams

New tone! Also, Sarah Palin said what now?

That’s right. It’s not The Onion. It’s the Free Wood Post, another satire site that’s fooled many a liberal with its spoofs of conservative politicians. Here’s a snippet of the over-the-top, screamingly obvious Thanksgiving satire:

Palin sat dumbfounded unaware of any controversy. The host went on to fill her in on the fact that many Native American tribes do not celebrate the holiday. In fact, it is a day of mourning for them. And those that do celebrate the day do so because it is a reminder that they survived mass murder, forced relocation, the theft of their land and many other injustices.

Palin’s response was astounding, “Thanksgiving is for real Americans not Indians. We founded this Christian nation. Why if it wasn’t for the God-fearing pilgrims, the natives would still be running around in loin cloths shooting at things with their arrows.”

No, doll. You are. The header on the Free Wood Post announces, “News that’s almost reliable.” And then there’s the disclaimer:

Snopes has also rated this one “false.”

But try convincing the lefty tolerance brigade that Palin said no such thing. Facts — and civility — ain’t easy when you’re frothing at the mouth.
