Bo Snerdley: Remember Left's collective orgasm over pro-abortion filibuster?

You do remember all the buzz over Texas state Sen. Wendy Davis’ filibuster, don’t you? Rush Limbaugh’s official Obama criticizer does, and Bo Snerdley isn’t the only one sensing a different take from the media and other usual suspects.

Remember when Davis hijacked the state senate to ensure it would be legal in Texas to abort babies after the fifth month after conception? Here’s how the Huffington Post covered it, next to its headline about Cruz.

Wendy Davis became such an icon that women had her face made into nail art. Ted Cruz? He’s inspiring some, um, Photoshop projects.

https://twitter.com/DLoesch/status/382643196833976320

What do some of Davis’ fans in entertainment and the media think about Cruz and his principled stand?

Do you know any good comedians, Lizz Winstead? Auditions start … right now!

Wow, did he really only filibuster for an hour? Or is that just part of the “bit”?

Markos, aren’t you following Lizz Winstead? Cruz’s fake filibuster was over hours ago.

One point overlooked among all the Wendy Davis worship; though her “heroic” filibuster was a huge media success and publicity booster, the Gosnell-inspired abortion clinic safety mandates she stood nearly 11 hours to block passed anyway. And somewhere a baby laughs and laughs.

  • https://twitter.com/Captain_Cy_kun Cy

Oh, so she’s heroic because she stood up for 11 hours? Then they must all LOVE Rand Paul too, right?

    • http://twitter.com/thetugboatphil TugboatPhil ✓Vilified

And I think Rand did his before Wendy Late Term too.

      • ObamaFail

Wendy Late Term. That’s a good name for her.

        • Moejoe

Me too. But I still like Abortion Barbie…no offense to the REAL Barbie (who can stand a LOT longer than 11 hours).

          • https://twitter.com/Captain_Cy_kun Cy

Unless someone rips her legs off or the dog gets hold of her again.

          • trixiewoobeans

My son made airplanes out of Barbies, lol!

          • rssllue

I think you got the down vote because some confused individual thought you were referring to Wendy instead of Barbie. You must type a bit slower for the deranged people out there ya know, so they can, as the great thinker Piers has said, “try and keep up.” Personally, I think that dogs love to “hold” Barbie more than girls do!

          • Jazzee

oh love it abortion Barbie LOL

      • trixiewoobeans

He absolutely did. That’s when McCain didn’t show and had dinner with Obama instead, then called Rand a Whacko-bird. Good times.

I drove past you earlier this summer. Went from southwest Virginia to Benton, Ill to get a mower I bought on Ebay. It was when there was a rain cloud stuck over southern Illinois & Indiana for about a week.

          • Chris

Phil, I live like 30 minutes from there. That “week” was actually about a month.

          • http://twitter.com/thetugboatphil TugboatPhil ✓Mate

I made the trip straight out and straight back. It started raining in Louisville and pretty much stayed constant until I got back there. I lucked out in Benton long enough to load and secure the mower, and get back on the road.

Oh, and the trip was well worth it. Great mower for a steal of a price.

What are the odds in Vegas over Paul and Cruz? Will Cruz outdo Paul?

      Wendy Davis? Pffftttt!

  • Netmilsmom

Heroic effort? To run out a clock?
Cruz is trying to kill a bill that will kill America

  • ObamaFail

Liberals just can’t get enough pro-abortion talk. But boy, do they have nothing but hate for people who actually stand for issues that plague ALL Americans and not just a select few.

  • Billie Slash

So even if you advocate for baby butchering, its okay as long as you have the right shoes?? How completely, supremely, disgustingly morally void the public has become.

    • MNWoman

It boggles the mind, doesn’t it, how trying to protect the brutal murder of an innocent baby is somehow misogony.

And even more boggling is how they have been able to hi-jack the terms women’s health or reproductive health care to mean abortion rights.

      Pi$$es me off.

      • Ryan Johnson

To be fair, thanks to feminists, saying anything negative about one woman or a certain type of woman is somehow misogynistic, and somehow is insulting to all women.

        • Tyrconnell

          Except a conservative woman

          • Ryan Johnson

Oh yeah, true that, conservative women are fair game for misogyny. It’s just jealousy that the conservatives are prettier, more virtuous, and are smarter.

        • 3seven77

No. You’ve got it wrong. Only *certain* women achieve victim status. Like those incompetent females that can afford 3 years at an expensive law school but can’t afford $9 bucks for birth control pills.

          • Ryan Johnson

true, you’d think if birth control pills were that important, one would be able to budget properly for them.

      • Ryan Johnson

and what about the word “rights” even following the word “abortion”? I mean, damn. The kid sure as hell doesn’t have any rights.

      • Billie Slash

Yes, the euphemisms are becoming more sinister.

    • Ryan Johnson

The public has become morally void, however it’s still worthy to note that Wendy Davis was attempting to defend something that the majority of America, pro-life and pro-choice alike, are against. Whereas pro-life people feel it’s wrong to kill a child period, even most pro-choice people draw the line and say it’s wrong to commit a late-term abortion.

Don’t worry lefties… Ted Cruz will actually finish his filibuster and not call it quits early only to have cronies rant and rave to finish the job.

  • tops116

They’re just upset that Cruz didn’t have to strap on a urine bag to do a filibuster.

By the way, don’t forget the liberal approach to the situation:
Arguing that women should be allowed to abort 21-week-old babies? Heroic.
Arguing to defund a law the vast majority of Americans oppose? Extremist.

    • ObamaFail

Here’s also how the left feels.
Two guys set off a bomb in Boston because of Islamic extremism. Not extremists.
Guy shoots up Fort Hood and says he did it for Allah. Work place violence.
A Republican stands up for the American people and expect them to get the same exemptions all of Obama’s buddies got? TERRORISM!!
      Shows how disgusting liberals are.

Doesn’t even matter to us Texans.

      • Texan357

This. This woman was a flash in the pan extended to 15 minutes by the hero-worship of idiots who never read the bill she opposed.

        • ObamaFail

They just knew she was pro-abortion. That’s all they wanted to know.

          • Texan357

Pro-unrestricted abortion. What gets me is that the Left is all about “doing something!@#!” – and often “for the kids#!%!” – when a tragedy comes to light. That they don’t see the Gosnell horrors as a tragedy is what is slowly convincing me that these people are not just uninformed, low-information voters (or just plain dumb), but that many are, in fact, evil.

          • ObamaFail

Libs are evil. Especially the ones wishing rape on the daughters of the Texas legislators who Davis filibustered against.

      • MNWoman

Please tell me there isn’t any real chance that she could win a state wide election, such as governor.

A few months ago when I asked another Texan, they gave me a very entertaining answer (essentially, she said it would never happen, but her/his answer was very, very descriptive)

I don’t know if anything has changed since then.

        • Vitiosum

As far as I can tell she has about as much chance of becoming the governor of Texas as box of rocks, although the box of rocks would have more votes.

        • Zane Henry

She’s going to be running against Greg Abbott, our extremely popular Attorney General. She’ll be hog feed IF she even wins the primary.

    • Paula Flechtner Martin

Word’s going around that Wendy Baby-killer Davis might run for govenor.

  • WhoDat

    Interesting thing between these two.

Davis filibustered to keep government out of healthcare.
Cruz is filibustering to keep government out of healthcare.

    • Joe W.

Davis filibustered to kill babies. Had nothing to do with “healthcare”, Zero.

    • ObamaFail

The fact is though, Davis was only fighting to keep government from restricting abortions. Big difference. Cruz is fighting to keep the healthcare industry from being destroyed just so Democrats can get socialized healthcare.

    • Penguin, first name The

      JUST ABORTION though. Not Healthcare.

      • ObamaFail

To liberals, abortion is healthcare, at least the only thing they care about.

      • WhoDat

In some cases, abortion is health care. When it’s needed in order to help the mother live.

        • ObamaFail

But that wasn’t what Wendy Davis was fighting for. She was fighting for unrestricted abortions for the pro-abortion crowd. She didn’t care about life of the mother or rape. She used those excuses, but no rape victim is going to need 9 months to know she doesn’t want her attackers baby.

        • Penguin, first name The

exception…not the rule. Provisions for that scenario. And…

        • Joe W.

False. There is no medical evidence to support your claim, idiot.

In some cases, actually in very few cases. How do you not get it?

    • Penguin, first name The

      Ahh…comment?

    • grais

Davis’ focus could not have been more narrow.
Cruz’s focus could not be more encompassing.

      • ObamaFail

Cruz hasn’t said anything about how wonderful abortion is, so that’s why WhoDat is upset that we didn’t praise Davis the way we are Cruz.

    • Penguin, first name The

This is like your job right? You can’t actually believe this rederick right?

      • Joe W.

Just the tampons in their floppy ears.

  • MNWoman

Tell you what, if anyone comes out with Ted Cruz nail art, I will totally go get my nails done.

And lets not forget Wendy Davis’ filibuster was months after Rand Paul introduced many Americans to the filibuster.

So if you want to say Cruz is trying to copy someone, Rand would be a better bet.

    • MNWoman

Heck, I would go out and buy the same shoes he is wearing. It sounds like they are designed for old people (did you catch the reference to Senator Hatch). The shoes may be for men and old people, but I would still totally rock them 😉

  • ObamaFail

Let’s look at the 4 filibusters people remember most. One by Dems in 1964, one by Paul this year, one by Davis this year, and today’s filibuster by Cruz.
In 1964, Dems filibustered to prevent the Civil RIghts Act.
In 2013, Rand Paul filibustered to try to prevent Drones from being used on US soil
In 2013, Wendy Davis filibusters to make abortions have no restrictions.
In Sept. 2013, Ted Cruz filibusters to try to prevent Obamacare being funded to prevent anymore suffering for the American people.
Hmm, take a good look at those 4 filibusters. The Dems fought for the right to kill babies no matter how far into the pregnancy and to keep black people from getting equal rights. Hmm, which party is the “evil” party liberals?

    • Scott

Brillant comments Gary! We will overcome these ignorant fools that want to drive this country down the toilet!! We may have to take Mark Levin’s direction with the Constitutional Convention approach to rid this country of OSCAMACARE but we will do whatever we have to!!!!

Wendy Davis is complete JOKE!! She is supposed to announce next week if she has the testicular desire to get her ass handed to her by Greg Abbott for Gov of Texas!!

      • ObamaFail

She got some fame for her abortion filibuster, but the majority of Texans supported the legislation she was against. I hope she doesn’t run, because I don’t know if I have the stomach to hear, “She only lost because she’s a woman and fights for women’s rights!!”

        • Scott

On that point, it will be interesting to see if she does run and has to debate him in his wheel chair. He should paint his chair PINK just to piss her off!!

    • MNWoman

The problem is, these will all be described like this:

1964 Dems (who have now become the Republican party)…

2013 Rand Paul and his wacko bird posse…

2013 Wendy Davis filibusters to keep those misogonysic, women hating conservatives from denying women quality healthcare

2013 Ted Cruz filibusters to deny children and poor people healthcare

Facts be damned, something like this is how they will probably be remembered.

      • ObamaFail

You’re right, the lemmings will line up to fall for that crap.

  • MNWoman

So the left laughs and laughs at Cruz. What did they do when women started wearing tampon earings? Clearly that was a reason to take them serious, right?

    • ObamaFail

The goofiest thing Conservatives are likely to do from Cruz’s filibuster is get a craving for White Castle. In no way is that as ridiculous as them wearing tampon earrings or vagina costumes.

      • MNWoman

And lets not forget the entire gallery holding up wire coat hangers.

        • ObamaFail

What Cruz is doing is essential. No, we all know the damned law isn’t going away tomorrow. But the media is in full-on social engineering mode, lying with a shamelessness and audacity they reserve for Barry’s “accomplishments” and Mitt Romney’s cancer-causing juju abilities. Any resistance is reflexive GOP-resistance. Articles on how moms should be enlisted to help. Fiscal nightmares, skyrocketing premiums, and loss of full-time hours are not worth one phoneme. He’s putting it all out there, front and center, and the media can’t cover it up. He’s preparing us for the killing of the bill down the line and reminding people why it is a monstrosity. Wendy Davis seems the wrong heroine to back for this crowd. In New England, she’s somebody. In Texas, she’s a nobody. And that’s what really pisses ’em off about Cruz. The fact that he is there. The fact that, barring getting the big job in 2016(here’s hoping), he will(not could) be therefor decades to come. Remember, people of Texas. It’s not Cruz they are talking about. It’s you.

P.S Cruz has breezed past Davis’ time. Of course.

    • TexSizzle

Actually, Wendy Davis is a nobody in Texas as well, except in Austin and Fort Worth.

  • praymorenow1

I had no problem w/ her taking hours and hours to fight the Texas abortion law…..that was her right, and she did it well. I understood the left leaning media, that’s 99.9 percent of the media, fawning over her every move and word. Add to that she is an attractive blonde from Texas, and not, well, Janet Napolitano……..they loved it.
Now, we have Ted Cruz, who is busy taking the knives out of his back put there by his fellow Republicans………as he is speaking passionately about why Obamacare is a total disaster………and the fact the House would not have that majority w/o the public voices and votes against Obamare………and why the law is bad and wrong…..and he’s a toad to the press. He’s a spoiled brat. He’s just a whining Republican from Bush Country. He’s anti-American, anti-women, anti-old people, anti-apple pie, anti-babies, anti-everything.
No, he’s for something: for American freedom, privacy, good health care choices, and a law that some in Congress should read before they pass it, and a health law the Congress should be forced to be part of since they passed it!
    GO TED!

This is going to fail, but it proves a point. Someone, anyone, taking a stand to protect the American people is the right thing to do.

Obamacare is the law of the land and as it’s implemented…the horrible realization of what the left has created will hit them…and then the wailing and gnashing of teeth will be heard…into the far reaches of outer space.

For they will realize that not only is this bill terrible, but that they are complete fools for thinking that it would be ‘better’.

Cruz isn’t even conducting a “filibuster” … the vote will go on whether he keeps blithering or not. Moron.

    • anjullyn

I’m sure you didn’t think that one up all by yourself. You shouldn’t plagiarize pejorative sentences written by a kos kid.

      • therantinggeek

Oh, I’m sure he thought it up, all right. Problem is, that “insult” can easily be outdone by a fifth-grader. :)

  • Trudy Hill

Speaking of that baby killer…what would happen if abortions could only be performed by guns? things that make you go hhmmmm?

  • stellatruman

Wendy Davis envy ? I don’t think so…Cruz is fighting for all Americans , even the ones too stupid to understand it. A little different than fighting for late term abortion. Morons like Joan Walsh and Amanda Marcotte make me ashamed to be the same gender

  • DiabloDawg

Wendy Davis? Never heard of him.

Her shoes were soaked in blood. His are clean.

maybe you should keep your vagina to yourself before you create a child? It’s all about making an innocent child pay for your own stupidity.

Better go get that “easy new ip” you boast about, son..

  • Ryan Johnson

You’re the host because you were specifically built to be the host. Pregnancy is not some punishment. Since you recognize it as YOUR body, then YOU should take the necessary precautions to not get pregnant. The baby is INSIDE your body. That is NOT your body, that is somebody else’s body, that is a HUMAN BEING.

  • $36562119

That’s right. I was built this way. Therefore, neither you, nor anyone else gets to tell me what to do with my body. And the last time I checked, abortion is legal.

    I know. Drives ya’ll crazy.

    You lose again.

  • Ryan Johnson

I don’t think you understand the point. You were designed to have children, which is why you don’t have the right to kill a child. Since you were designed to have children, you KNOW how it works, which is why you have no excuse to have an unwanted pregnancy. You know what else was once legal? Slavery. That didn’t make slavery ok, and neither is abortion. You have abortion “rights?” What about the rights of the kid?

The other point you do not understand is the child inside you is NOT your body. But hell, maybe people like you really don’t deserve to reproduce. At the end of the day, who really “loses?” A person who values human life, or a person who sees no issue with taking the life of the most defenseless?

Are you really going to sit there and say that you will not take precautions to not get pregnant? Are you going to sit there and justify going to an abortion clinic at 10, 20, 30 weeks pregnant?

  • $36562119

*Sigh* … No – I think it is you who does not understand the point.

The point is – to have an abortion or not is MY decision – one which YOU have no say in. The conversation ends there. I have no right to tell any woman what is an appropriate choice for her and neither do you, or anyone else (barring a health care professional). What part of this are you not getting? And to reiterate, abortion is in fact, legal.

As an aside, I LOVE how you’ve made all these sweeping assumptions about my stance on abortion. I could support it or not support it – that makes little difference. What I DO support is a woman’s right to make choices for her body and her life, with or without taking your opinion into consideration.

This is what you RWNJs forget. Your opinion is not required. As G.W Bush so eloquently stated, “I’m the decider.”

  • Ryan Johnson

I’m not right wing, I’m independent. I just believe in standing up for what is right. Irony, talk about making a sweeping assumption.

No, the conversation does NOT end there. Because there is another element to your decision to have an abortion; the child that is getting murdered. You have no right to suggest that having a baby is a “choice.” You have no right to devalue human life. You made it into this earth, why doesn’t your child get the same privileges as you, which you clearly don’t deserve? And to reiterate, slavery was once legal. Abortion is legal infanticide.

You are absolutely delusional and hypocritical, for the simple fact that you are alive and stating that it is just dandy for children to be killed.

I didn’t make sweeping assumptions. I asked you questions, which your amoral ass cannot answer and instead responded with personal attacks as if you were on some sort of imaginary moral highground where it’s ok to kill babies. I also support women making the right choices for their bodies-which is why I’m not against the MANY methods of preventing conception that are available. If you are still having abortions for any reason other than rape or danger of death in this day and age, you are an insidious murderer.

Now THAT’s the true end of discussion.

  • $36562119

“You have no right to suggest that having a baby is a “choice.” …

Oh, but I do. And it just so happens that the law happens to agree.

All your other blithering is just nonsense and not germaine to the conversation.

You would fail miserably in a formal debate. Just the facts man. You lose, yet again.

    Have a nice life.

  • Ryan Johnson

You’re the only nonsense person here, you tapeworm. You’re a drain on society. way to talk about “facts” you had no facts your damn self.

  • Ryan Johnson

All you did was cover your ears and go lalalala. It’d be funny if it weren’t so ridiculous. I’d say you should have a nice life as well, but I won’t since you don’t actually value life.
