Alright, we're gonna talk about this shameful-ass SNAP vote next. #inners—
Christopher Hayes (@chrislhayes) September 20, 2013
As Twitchy reported earlier, photos of the real, live “faces of hunger” displayed on the House floor today weren’t enough to stop the House from passing its version of the Farm Bill, which would cut $40 billion from the food stamp program over the next 10 years. The bill would also place a three-month limit on able-bodied adults without dependents, unless they could demonstrate that they either worked part-time or were in a workfare or job-training program.
Yeah, how is it fair to expect people on food stamps to find jobs in this economy? P.S. Obama is doing a totally awesome job, by the way. That laser-like focus on jobs is really paying dividends.
MSNBC host Chris Hayes might not have been “physically enraged” by the vote (as he was by the Supreme Court striking down part of the Voting Rights Act), but he was driven to a case of righteous potty mouth.
If it’s any consolation, we go to bed tonight knowing that Hayes made Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz listen to The Coup before tonight’s show.
Speaking of thoroughly shameful sh*t, you remember The Coup, right?
