Is the fix in? Trumka reportedly all smiles after White House labor union meeting about Obamacare; Updated

Labor leaders have been experiencing “what have we done” moments as the realization of the impact of Obamacare hits home. In July, the heads of three major U.S. labor unions wrote a letter to Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid expressing their concern that Obamacare “will destroy the very health and wellbeing of our members.”

In order to seek a “fix,” the White House hosted a meeting of labor leaders today:

We’ve discovered a new way to phrase lobbying for an Obamacare waiver: “Problem solving”:

Who was at the White House union head meeting? We don’t have the full list thanks to the transparency we’ve come to expect:

Wild speculation:

A final thought:

And now they’ll be offered a way around the law they lobbied hard to pass while everybody else is stuck with it.

Update:

Or will they? We’ll have to wait and see how the negotiations play out.

Here come the union carve-outs and double dipping.

  • cloey

WE JUST GOT OUR BILL FROM REGENCE OF WASHINGTON. OUR RATE INCREASED 63%. Higher deductible, less providers, less hospital coverage. To say we are angry is an understatement.

    • beebop1952

Maybe Trumka can help you Problem solve …

    • MNWoman

I was trying to explain to my ultra liberal best friend why Obamacare is a disaster.

I figured I would just point out the obvious examples of increasing premiums and deductibles along with the massive cutting of worker hours. She said that wasnt’ the government’s fault. I said if the government is placing so many mandates on insurance companies and demanding employers provide insurance, that is a negative impact of Obamacare.

She still believes it isn’t Obamacare but a result of insurance companies and businesses being greedy. Like they have the option to keep insurance rates the same and all employers can easily pay to provide insurance to their workers.

      • GaryTheBrave

Try this one. Ocare takes $1,377,000,000 from Medicare EVERY WEEK! That’s $700-billion over 10 years (520 weeks).

      • John Ledo

sounds to me like you need to find a new best friend

      • lainer51

You should find new friends… what an ignoramus!

      • E Quilibrate

Just lament to your friend, “I’m sorry but not even obamacare can
        fix stupid”.

      • Spiny Norman

Business, no matter how big or how small, are all sitting on huge piles of MONEY that ought belong to “the people”. The greedy bastards, they just want their employees to get sick and DIE!.

      Mine’s 114% higher from Regence.
      $500 MORE a month.
      Beyond words right now.

      • cloey

Condolences. We feel your pain. I feel powerless.

        • 0bamasnought

Had to help my Princess setup an Disqus account, she’s so NON political, but an extra $3100 in property tax, and now this.
That’s nearly $10k we’ll need to find this year.

Oh, wonderful. With Obamacare’s full implementation on the horizon, they are still “problem solving”. This should make everyone feel better about it.

  • MNWoman

So how do I go about getting an Obamacare waiver?

Do I need to find a union job? Get elected to congress?

  • IMPEACH_BOBO

YES President BOBO is trying to work out a sweetheart deal like he did for the members of Congress & all the other who will get waviers & not having to be part of the RAClST BOBOcare law !!! I wouldn’t count on BOBO to help you either Trumka, BOBOcare is done & so are you union fat cats !!! Congress is going to defund the RAClST BOBOcare because if everybody doesn’t pay into this RAClST law, NOBODY IS GOING TO PAY INTO IT, GET IT DIPSHT !!!!!!!!! Remember what is going on here people !!! Teachers, union workers, Congress, etc. will all get subsides, which in government speak for me & you will pay the difference for their healthcare on top of us paying for our own healthcare insurance, thats why it is going to be DEFUNDED !!!!!

Just think of this law as another form of BOBO’s failed attempt to get REDISTRIBUTION OF WEALTH that he could NOT get Congress to pass in 2009 !!! Then there is the RAClST part of the law too, who do you all think is going to pay for those 30 MILLION new FLEEBAGGER FREELOADERS ( mostly ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT INVADERS & minorities ) it will be up to whites to foot the bill of course !! It has already started, my health insurance has gone up 60% since 2010 & now I find out I will have limited choices in doctors too & the rate is going to go up another10% a week !!! Now I am a 40 year old white male, no health problems, don’t drink or smoke, & have never had to make a claim on my insurance, something is wrong with that people !! O Thats right I am paying already for the new FREELOADERS to this RAClST law, REDISTRIBUTION OF WEALTH, PLAIN & SIMPLE !!

  • WendyOh

There are no words to describe how angry I am that the unions got us unto this and now have the nerve to ask for an exemption. I’m self employed and purchase insurance privately through the Maryland Health Insurance plan. With premiums, deductibles, and Co pays, I’m out $14/k a year. And what do I get out of it? If pre-approved, I can get blood tests and diagnostic tests for free. That’s great until you realize that they don’t give adequate coverage for any illness that are found in the diagnosis! They will pay for a hospital visit for surgery but NOT the surgeon. WTF is that?!!

  • CR

At this point, we really ought to just ask B0 for a list of the parts of Obamacare that ARE going to be enforced.

Actually, never mind… I can make that list:
    1. The parts that require you to buy insurance you don’t want that covers things you don’t want (but only if you are a non-union Republican or religious group that doesn’t want to pay for abortion)
    2. The taxes
    3. The parts that force redistribution of wealth from the young and healthy to the old and sick (because young people don’t have enough problems in B0’s economy)

  • Love of Country

President Obama: And so why are you guys here before me demanding that I allow Texas to secede?

Rick Perry and Ted Cruz (in unison): Well, if for no other reason, because you gave the most heinous and hypocritical and un-American special-interest carve-out the world had ever seen when you assured the Unions that they would get waivers from that evil bill that reeks of sulphur and manure if only they would spend 10’s of millions of dollars of their own money and countless man-hours selling your evil garbage that stunk on ice even before it was ever passed/forced on the American people. Neither one of us nor the great citizens of Texas want to be involved with a country that would think it is okay to do what you’re doing. To destroy the trust and prestige of The Office the way you have for personal gain is unconscionable and we want out!

    • 0bamasnought

Since when was it Texan to run?
      Stand and fight.

      • Love of Country

I hear ya and everything but we’re really not going anywhere. It’s more about circling the wagons while we still have wagons to circle with …. we shouldn’t have to go down with all the other states in the union who couldn’t figure things out in time before it was too late. Don’t Mess With Texas!

        • 0bamasnought

I understand, and I give the same talk to those in my state that want to split.
I’d rather wall off a city, like Seattle, to contain this disease, than break up a perfectly good state.

If they give unions a waiver from Obamacare, then union workers will be hated for decades.

    • Spiny Norman

Union leaders, like that old-school goon Trumka, think it will make everyone want to join the Unions (out of necessity, if it comes down to it – don’t matter to them either way, as long as you’re paying dues).

  • RedSoloCup

    Union scum don’t deserve SQUAT.

  • sanfordandsons

If Barry gives the unions a waiver, what are WE going to do? There needs to be more hell raising over this decision than ever before. We need to overturn these first-class A HOLES!!!

  • ObamaFail

Every person who lobbied for this monstrosity and helped get Obama re-elected so it would stay in place are wanting exemptions. Anyone who voted for Obama should be the first to sign up, with everyone else getting a year delay. Needless to say, if all liberals and Democrats were the first to have to sign up, it would be fully repealed before the year was up.

  • syvyn11

Here’s a hint Dick (or Richard- either or), Obama already lied to your face once. When someone does that one time, he’ll do it every time.

  • fishmonster

If Trumka isn’t talking Obama has broken another law because he has already handed them a concession. Unions must have No concessions re: ObamaCare, the congress and their staffs must pass up their special carve out and it must be rolled back to 2015 for ordinary American families and small businesses. If anybody shuts the government down it will be the pathetic coward who hides behind the Russians and lives in the White House. You know, the one who uses the NSA to spy on American citizens and the IRS to harass and intimidate different organizations while supporting Malik Obama and the Muslim Brotherhood in America and the Middle East.
You know who I am talking about, Dudes and Dudettes.

“Mr. President, Mr. McDonough… I’m Mr. Trumka. This is my Consigliere
Mr. Vitti and his assistant Mr. Baldassare. This is my security detail, Tommy the Tongue and Louie the Lip. Now, are we ganna deal on dis ting here or wat?”

  • Right Wired

Trumka probably got BO to fund that new club house he’s been wanting for the country club

  • EdwdLny

So, it really comes down to one question. Do union leaders spit, or, do they swallow.

  • AZWarrior

Hope this one is the long awaited “waiver too far”, that will prompt public outrage and pressure on Congress to act.

  • Paul

Trumka was seen leaving the Whitehouse wearing heels and a blue dress. He was disheveled and seemed to have spilled some Hidden Valley Ranch salad dressing on himself while having lunch with Barry Soetero.

Tumpka may well be a jerk but he’s Obama’s jerk and they’re in love.

  • jukin

The cACA bill was only about increasing taxes, regulations, and most importantly control of the citizens in the USA. Non-citizens (ie illegals) not so much.

  • Terry

check out the look on Obama Trumka faces in the pic for this link, they look like they just had sex, or are about to.

  • bulletgrip

Just another example that proves that Democrat corruption never ceases. Corruption is an important part of the liberal ideology.

Union members are dropping their memberships and disbanding.

Obama owes Trumpka and his minions since they very aggressively supported him and Obamacare.

    My prediction:

Unions will get concessions from Obama which will make union membership attractive again.

Trumpka and Obama will be able to continue to line their own pockets at the expense of the American taxpayer.
