At last: OFA acknowledges something going on in Syria

Plenty of conservatives have been wondering when Organizing for Action, the “independent” group dedicated solely to advancing the agenda of President Barack Obama, would weigh in on the Syria crisis. After all, the president could really use some help selling the idea of a military strike on Syria to the American people.

The @barackobama account (run by OFA) still doesn’t have anything to say about airstrikes on Syria, but @OFA finally stepped up with the squishiest tweet of support possible.

And that stand is…

Oh, come on. Rep. Nancy Pelosi was able to make a stronger case for war to her 5-year-old grandson. That kid was ready to launch the missiles himself when “Mimi” was done with him.

How can you fight the enemy when you don’t know who the enemy is?

For the love of God, even non starry-eyed liberals are siding with conservatives on this issue.

You need to brush up on your Pogo my friend

Apparently even OFA has a price.

    • nc

      Nah, they’re just stuck. Flummoxed.

    • Republicanvet

No. They just haven;t figured the angle yet.

The blind leading the blind. The OFA does not need to know or do anything, the GOP leadership in the House and Senate is taking up the slack for Obama.

  • IceColdTroll

On a similar note — where are all the Occutards on this?!? Shouldn’t they be out pounding their drum circles for peace?

    • nc

I would say “cognitive dissonance,” but I’m not sure there’s enough “cognitive” there.

      • Richard Jefferies

Yes, I used to use cognitive dissonance incorrectly, because I assumed some people were cognitive of their hypocrisy. Turns out, many aren’t.

      • MarcusFenix

I’m more of the mind that they have conflicting opinions on purpose, just so they have something handy to whip out when the argument goes against them. If it’s goes one way, they bring out one argument. If things go the other way, they use their spare argument.

    • Stu Gotts

That comment just earned you an “up twinkles.”

    • Magnifico

      I miss the Occutards.

    OFA is on “attack watch.”

  • JR48

Probably the most flaccid tweet made so far re the Syrian situation. I wonder how long it took for them to sweat over and finally produce something that bland, so as to be able to say that they mentioned it, but took no risks so that it doesn’t bite them in the butt?

  • gman213

Hey Jonah Goldberg, OFA’s stand on Syria is as squishy as a month old banana.

It wasn’t that long ago. Only 39 years. Thanks, for that, by the way 😉

Fun fact. My Dad was a L.A. Sheriff SEB [SWAT] member at the time of that shoot-out. He was assigned to the Firestone Station and only about 2 blocks away when it started. LAPD put out their “11-99” [send the world!] and off he went. He was there. I watched the entire shoot-out live on our B&W Zenith TV when the channels started broadcasting it too, not knowing our Dad was there. LAPD et al. had fired about five thousand rounds, and the SLA fired approximately four thousand.

That’s my Pop there. This pic was in all the local newspapers [so now that pic is his ‘internet legacy’ which still cracks him up to this day]. Just 18 months back from Vietnam [2 tours Army Rangers]. He couldn’t find a decent paying job right away and with a family to feed he then went to LASO on the advice of a family friend. They hired him immediately — and then he went to SEB [SWAT]. He was only a few months on SEB when this incident occurred. Hard to believe he was only 26yo in that pic.

the bader-Meinhoff gang. I always thought that sounded like a bad 1970’s rock band.
