‘Deviant’: Weiner melts down on Rosh Hashana [video]; Update: Weiner mounts his defense

If Anthony Weiner doesn’t like people scrutinizing his behavior, measuring his character, and comparing his words with his creepy deeds, maybe he shouldn’t be, you know, running for public office again.

And among the many other social graces Anthony Weiner never learned: Learning not to talk with your mouth full.

Update:

Weiner’s come out swinging against all the haters:

(Note: Anthony Weiner is not the mayor. Of any city.)

It wasn’t his fault!

Heh.

Update:

Several tweeters who initially condemned Weiner’s actions are apologizing:

Perhaps Weiner, who still hasn’t shown true remorse after lying to the public, could take a lesson from them.

You gotta admit, that does take a special kind of chutzpah. Especially in an Orthodox neighborhood.

These people don’t drive cars on Saturdays, they walk to their synagogue for services, among many other restrictions they accept to elevate their lives. Women cover their arms in public. Does Weiner really think his behavior doesn’t matter to these people?

      • Clayton Grant

I think it’s obvious that he simply doesn’t care. In his mind, he is the victim.

        • nc

You’re right. How dare anyone infringe on his right to express himself?

      POWER…it’s a helluva drug.

    • Michelle

She paid close attention to the lessons she learned from Hillary’s example – never, ever let go of your man who can a) possibly acquire a Very Important Title and b) make you a known entity by virtue of being married to a loser. Weiner’s wife begged him to not resign from Congress in the wake of his first texting scandal – because she wanted to be married to a Member of Congress, not necessarily Tony Weiner. His wife is supporting his hopeless and losing bid to be mayor because she wants to be married to a Mayor, not Tony Wiener. ALL my money is on the minute he finally sees the light and call it quits on his political career, she’s OUTTA there.

      • Clete Torres

It would not surprise me at all if it shook out that way. In fact, I’d be surprised if it didn’t.

        • arttie

Yes I see, get rid of the little drip. It is annoying.

        • Michelle

It’s totally going down that way. Once he either ends his campaign or loses in the election, Huma is outta there within a year. She married him because he was a Congressman, that was clear when she begged him not to resign in the wake of his problem. She hung on in the wake of Scandal #2 because he was running for Mayor. With no Important Titles on the horizon for Weiner, she’ll be departing.

          • wwbdinct

Then she’ll be portrayed as “brave and courageous” for having the strength of character to leave the scum bag who did her so wrong which in turn would, of course, make her the perfect candidate for whatever office she desires to run for. You could write the liberal playbook years in advance before if ever even happens.

          • grais

I think her Muslim Brother/Sisterhood connections will be a bit more problematical for her than her ‘husband’ has been.

          • wwbdinct

I would have agreed with that if it were 10 years ago. These days? Nothing seems to be problematical for anyone with a (D) next to their name. What’s shocking to me is that Weiner is NOT ahead in the polls!

          • 1CatEye

Seem to remember Michelle Bachmann being excoriated for pointing out this woman and her little connections not too long ago. Seems Michelle was right.

          • Clete Torres

Weiner is SO arrogant, he make me SICK. Disgusting piece of trash. IMO!

  • http://www.IKnowbo.com/ Slam1263

That has to be a real blow to Weiner.
Kind of like a Rooster Punch.

  • Hiraghm

I repeat loudly and often…. if he’s a deviant… (and he is)… what is Barney Frank? Nobody got on Frank for his deviancy. Political correctness wouldn’t allow it… and look what PC got for us today.

    • Clete Torres

      Frank’s a deviant too. But it’s different – he’s a man-love deviant and that’s okay by today’s standard.

      Weiner…Frank… there’s a joke here, isn’t there?

      • nc

Herb Caen, the late, great columnist from the SF Chronicle, had a regular feature called “Namephreaks.” People whose names reflected their occupations or personalities. He never ran out of examples. Hilarious!

  • Clete Torres

He’s a complete ass, married to a Muslim Brotherhood family member, a serial sexter, and has been proven as all.

Yet, Jewish voters will STILL vote for this schmuck: my wife’s cousins in NYC just love this miscreant, and make all kinds of excuses for him.

    • grais

What kind of excuse can they possibly make for his addiction to sending pictures of his genitalia to strangers? Or for his utter lack of shame and embarrassment in doing so, and being caught doing so?

      • Clete Torres

I wish I had a reasonable answer for that. But I have never been given one that I could consider reasonable.

        • grais

Well, there isn’t a reasonable one. I just can’t imagine what they tell themselves. ‘At least he didn’t kill anyone.’ ?

          • Clete Torres

I get the general platitudes about how he’s such a good guy, despite “what the press is saying about him” (yes, they actually say that), and the older women all say that he looks like “a good Jewish boy, who we need in the city running it.” Bad grammar and all. I. Kid. You. Not.

I stopped listening after that, but it wouldn’t surprise me if they offered the ‘he didn’t kill anyone’ excuse.

          • grais

Do these older women understand that he’s been shaking his junk in shiksa’s faces all over the internet? That he’s likely still doing it? Do they know that his unit is married? If I were you, I’d show them the pictures and say, “There’s your good Jewish boy, right there.”

          • Clete Torres

Had I not been in the mixed-company of family, I might have done so, or might not have:

I really don’t put much thought into what they do or think anymore, so much of it defies logic and rational thought. Rabid liberals, each and every one. I just get up and wander away to talk sports with those who haven’t totally gone over the edge yet.

          • Clete Torres

Sean Davis’s tweet is Weiner in a nutshell: “…a low-functioning narcissistic sociopath with no self-awareness.”

  • Joe W.

Anthony Weiner: The face of the liberal, Democrat party.

    • Merv99

If Weiner is the face of the Democratic party, why is he in fourth place in the polls?

Republican Mark Sanford, on the other hand, was elected to Congress, even after being forced to resign in disgrace as governor of South Carolina after running off to Argentina to be with his mistress, and later being arrested for trespassing at his ex-wife’s house.

      • Joe W.

And you are so dense you cannot comprehend sarcasm, nor do you realize that this thread has nothing whatsoever to do with Mark Sanford. Douche Nozzle.

        • Merv99

So, you don’t really believe Weiner is representative of the Democratic party? Sorry, my mistake.

          • Joe W.

Let us just say that he is sick and perverted…and he is a prominent democRAT…and leave it at that…..

      • 1CatEye

So, “he did it too” is your defense? Wow. My six-year-old knows better than that.

        • Merv99

Reading comprehension. My point was to compare two politicians who recently resigned because of scandal, and what their fates were when they ran again for public office.

Democrat Anthony Weiner is polling in the single digits, and destined to lose.

Republican Mark Sanford was elected to Congress.

    • therealguyfaux

Aren’t Weiner’s multiple public apologies proof that he knows that his behavior was deviant? Hasn’t he judged his own behavior to be deviant? So why is he taking this guy to task for saying something that he himself said previously?

Are we to believe that his apologies were insincere?

    • Tertullus

Mr. Jewish Voter had some good points. Weeny was stuck on ‘who are you to judge me?’ Umm, gee, last I checked, we are called voters. I’m sure Liberals quite prefer low-info voters, but our duty as citizens is to actually be informed and use our brain.

Weeny claims the guy took a run at him after he walked out the door. Not so fast there Weeny. You took your own shots and went back for more. Huge loss of focus. But a very good expose on his true “insincere” character.

So it appears I owe an apology to…Anthony Weiner. Guy talked smack about his wife.
    1:50 PM – 4 Sep 2013

Uh, no. One of the things Mr. Jewish Voter said was, “Think about your wife, think about your wife.”

I watched both versions, and how anyone could support Weiner for anything other than a nice long hospital stay is beyond me.

Thank You Mr. Jewish Voter! Shana Tova to you and your loved ones!

  • Right Wired

Weiner couldn’t become the mayor of McDonaldland at this point.

  • Violet Collura

In God’s world, everyone makes mistakes, and is entitled to a second chance., perfect example, Bill Clinton. I don’t see anyone attacking him in public. He’s been forgiven. He’s more popular now then when he was President., spoke at the Democratic National Convention, speaks at many Democratic functions and holds his head high. If the entire USA can forgive Clinton, then I think NYC can forgive Weiner, and not “cut off their nose to spite their face.
No one has yet, that I know of, attacked Spitzer for his indiscretions. Of all the candidates, Weiner is the best one for the job. Thompson says he’s going to raise teacher’s salaries, and save schools instead of closing them, but doesn’t say how or with what money., Lhota calls the PBA “mall cops”, disgraceful ., and DeBlasio says he is against “stop and frisk”, when not too long ago, he said he supported it., and most people had no idea his wife was African-American until his family joined him in his campaign ads. Weiner is tough, and he’s a fighter for the little guy. He has some great ideas like putting discipline back in the schools. It’s about time.
Giuliani was tough too, and what a great job he did.
Look back in history at some of the most influential politicians in this country., people like Thomas Jefferson, FDR, Grover Cleveland, JFK, and let’s not forget Clinton. Their moral standards left much to be desired, but they all got the job done.
The crime lies in not learning from your mistakes, not in making them.

    • Joel Mackey

you truly are an idiot, thanks for ruining this country.

I have been wondering how the Jewish community really felt about him. There are many very bright and creative jewish people in our society. Many I’ve seen have an excellent work ethic. I can’t believe the majority of Jewish New Yorkers are wanting to overlook this ongoing burlesque of a trainwreck..

  • Chrissy the Hyphenated

I did not hear one word from Weiner about “smack” directed at his wife. I heard a whole lot of “who are you to judge me, you’re not better than me, you can’t judge me, who are you to judge me.” IOW … the same level of concern he’s shown for his wife since day one.

  • JGSRELP

LOL @ all these posts. You guys act like you have nothing but saints across the aisle. Firstly, Picking on Weiner is the easiest thing ever. Sorta like picking on Alan West, Bachmann or Paul.

Secondly, clearly your mothers never taught you that people in glass houses shouldnt throw stones. I wonder what sort of spin the twitchy community will put on the next republican liar/cheater scandal. Probably blame those dare dems for it.

What a simple lot you are.

    • Kaya Hund

Last I checked, I wasn’t running for public office. Put yourself in the public eye, and you’re fair game — especially, like Mr. Weiner, if you deserve the ridicule and criticism.
