Protesters show up at John Kerry’s house [pics]

Yesterday, protesters who oppose military intervention in Syria assembled outside Secretary of State John Kerry’s townhouse on Beacon Hill:

According to Twitter users, the protesters pounded on Kerry’s front door and windows. (Kerry wasn’t home. Perhaps he was on his boat?)

That’s right. The house apparently was not guarded.

We have nothing against people exercising their First Amendment rights, but there is a time and a place. If the protesters really did pound on Kerry’s doors and windows, that just isn’t right.

  • Maxx

I’m all for peaceful protesting but not outside the man’s front door. I’m no fan of Kerry but there are plenty of places to do this and get attention. Have we lost all civility these days? Taking over statehouses and offices and now shouting outside someone’s bedroom? He’s the Secretary of State, not the town meter reader. Show some respect for the position of office.

    Not cool.

    • Andy from Beaverton

I’m torn on this one. Love seeing Kerry get protested by the same anti-war nut-jobs that followed him 40 years ago. But I love seeing leftist get Tarazed too.

      • maggiespat

I like the caption: “Former Vietnam Vet”, like he’s no longer a Vietnam Vet (true, that – he gave the right away when the medals went over the fence)

        • E Quilibrate

And as to his convictions–We believe they weren’t even
          his medals, but someone else’s.

      • Nicholas

So if someone oppose a particular war or other military action that makes them, in your view an “anti war nut”? Are there any wars or military actions you think shouldn’t have taken place or that things may have gone better in the long run if they hadn’t taken place? Sometimes war is unavoidable, other times there have been wars and military actions that only made things worse. You must be one of those who thinks the US has never made a mistake or undertaken any ill advised military actions. I’ll call you a war mongering nut.

      • bonnieblue2A

If the protestors were lefties wouldn’t we see Code Pink there in their vagina costumes?

      • autdrew4real

Im with you here. I laughed at the idea of this guy getting a taste of his own loony medicine but when I got to the part about banging on the door & windows, it wasnt funny anymore. It reminded me of what the nuts did to that CEO when his kid was home alone early on in 09.

        • pen44

TDB, he was all for the Occutards….shoes on the other foot….you reap what you sow!!!

      • Pooface

We’re talking about a man who is supporting the US rape and pillaging of another Middle Easter Nation… “Civility?” you mean like the civility that drone warfare exercises? He’s making some bad choices. I’m sure that the missiles he’s has been and will be responsible for launching will make innocent women and children WISH there was simply a harmless mob of hippies knocking on his door.

      • April Moreno

You are hateful and have no respect !! He is the secretary of state, and I thought the biggest cheerleader for the war was McCain!!

        • Andy from Beaverton

Why should I show Kerry any respect? He holds an appointed position. He also has a long history of supporting the wrong people and the wrong positions.
Did you respect Haig, Schultz, Eagleburger and Rice?

The biggest cheerleader for war is Obama. He has made America far more hated around the world than any other president recently. How many other countries will he fire missiles into before his term is over?

    • CR

Eh, this is the lefties MO these days. They mobbed the governor’s mansion in NC regarding abortion, and didn’t they show up on someone’s lawn about immigration? Private property has no meaning to these people, in the little communist utopia in their heads, all property belongs to the government anyway.

I wonder if Kerry is going to perhaps guard his house a little better now… Perhaps with, even, dare we say it, ARMED guards.

      • Elaine

Many lefties are supporting President on this war action, even the hard core anti-war gang. These look more like a Muslim Brotherhood types.

    • Elaine

If that had been a Tea Party Group, the cops would have been there ASAP! There is such a huge difference in the amount of ‘rights’ allowed for certain people these days.

    • lainer51

agree — can’t stand the man nor his assinine policies but leave his family and private property out of it.

But it was okay for SEIU goons to trespass at a Citibank exec’s house, trample his lawn, and terrorize the teenage children inside the house, while the police did nothing? Gotta throw the bullschit flag on that post.

    • pen44

Kerry DOES NOT DESERVE ANY RESPECT….just ask the Vietnam Vets. He’s a traitor from Massachusetts. But what can we expect from the Royal Colony of Kennedy. Just because you Massholes keep electing him doesn’t mean we have to respect him!!

    • Joel A. Edge

I’d have to grudgingly agree with you. Maybe not so much because of the office, just out of common civility. The residence should be out of bounds.

    • T R Coletti

Give me a break, back in the day we’d break his windows and burn his house down….that’s what the Sons of Liberty did in Boston to the rich people trying to exploit them. Why are you so afraid and offended of non-violent civil disobedience? “Have we lost civility these days” what a joke. We’re killing people overseas and your upset people are knocking on someones door.

      • Purple Aki

Salute to you sir!!!! Well said

    • Purple Aki

Piss off man, the guy needs hanging from a tree by his neck.Civility you say? Like sending people off to war to die based on lies?

      • Bill Gryan

Looking at the present condition of Kerry’s face, he’s going to need a lot more surgery and injections to appear “evolved.”

  • Stephen L. Hall

Stalking people at their homes is not free speech, it’s an act of intimidation. When done in crowds, it is akin to terrorism. There is never a justification for storming a man’s castle with torches and pitchforks. (Okay, short of creating a monster in his laboratory.)

    • http://amandakmelson.wordpress.com/ GreenEyedGal

Which is exactly what the Obama administration has done, I’d like to point out (created the monster in his laboratory).

I agree with you that this crowd should not have gone to his home and pounded on his door and windows. It just seems to me there’s some kind of karmic justice/irony or something that the monster these liberal progressives have encouraged and nurtured are using their own strategies against them.

    • 0bamasnought

I’m working on my own Code Pink Vajayjay costume right now.

Uhm, is there anyone out there with costume making experience?

When I asked the wife what “the little man in the boat” meant, she started throwing the crockery about, tossed my 8-track collection into the garage, rather that as a centerpiece of our formal living room as it should be, and then left for MY mother’s.

Even the dog is giving me a funny look now.

I agree with others that this is totally inappropriate, and the lack of security is appalling.

But, you know, Mr. Secretary, it really is true. What goes around comes around.

  • Republicanvet

Anybody seen throwing any medals over his fence?

  • Republicanvet

Yeah I see the incivility of protesting at someone’s house, but I think it couldn’t happen to a nicer leftist.
Kerry fomented a HUGE amount of protest against Vietnam, which resulted in many veterans suffering the brunt of that…to this day by some leftists, because he flat out lied about those veterans.
This kind of protesting has been going on for some time now by other rabid leftists. It should have been stopped some time ago. Leftists cheered those previous protests, and now they get to experience what they started.

    • 0bamasnought

      I am enjoying this. Immensely.
      The Left eating it’s own.

Protesting at politicians’ (or corporate executives’) homes victimizes the families that have nothing to do with policies. I don’t care for Secretary Lurch in the slightest, but there has to be a line that should not be crossed, or we might as well give in to the barbarians.

Herman Munster owns something like 9 houses. Perhaps security isn’t there because it’ll be vacant for months.

Yes, it is wrong to protest someone’s private residence. Do I give a shlt in THIS particular case? Hell no. After watching the left protest at Bush’s ranch for months on end, ambush Condi Rice & others w/fake blood on their hands, block military recruiting offices, carry “Kill Bush” signs, etc and all the while Kerry, Pelosi & others fed off that crap to paint Bush/Cheney/Condi as evil murderers … why would I?

Rather silly considering John Kerry has, well, how many homes?
The chance of John Kerry actually staying in that house are slim to none to once in a never while.
But, very cool protest pictures……a rather small crowd really.
My question is: what did John Kerry do to his face? It’s puffier than Joan Rivers.
100,000 people killed in Syria the last year. Syria has used chemical weapons before, allegedly….and our Obama govt. did, well, squat….. This has all the markings of Clinton’s missiles in the desert. To save face.
If you believe in the UN, as he said he did, if you believe in going to Congress, as he said he did, and if you believe the USA should not get involved in military action w/o massive proof and massive build up…this Syria ‘surgical’ strike nonsense is just that – nonsense.
But, he’ll likely lob something now…he has to. Or he will ‘look’ like he did a retreat…
Help Muslim Brotherhood take over another nation in Syria, or help Al Queda keep a country, do what Russia would like, or do what Israel suggests…..

  • grumpyhillbilly

The lack of security just shows Mr Teresa Heinz owns the abode in name only. Its rather too smallish Mr. Kerry these days. The neighbors are the ones who have to deal with the mess. But since they likely voted for the former senator, they are getting some new perks.

What did one horseface say to the other horseface?
“Why the long face, Mr. Secretary?”

  • John LaRosa

They should have gone to Rhode Island…where the horse-faced hypocrite parks his yacht to avoid MA state taxes.

    • Michelle

The good news is, the Massachusetts Republican Party (yes, they DO exist!) hounded Kerry so hard for his tax evasion and hypocrisy, that he finally agreed to pay all taxes to MA that he would have been responsible for had he docked it in MA.

That all went down when I was living in Boston and not even the Dems were impressed with his actions.

I also lived there when Romney left office as Gov and Barry’s Best Good Friend Gov. Patrick took over. A couple of the very first things Patrick did was a) Purchase $35k worth of new curtains (curtains!) for his office at the expense of the taxpayer; b) Upgraded the lease on the Governor’s car to a Cadillac at the expense of the taxpayer; c) Hire a personal assistant for his wife (who has NO official duties) at a salary of $75k/year at the expense of the taxpayer (a newly created position); and d) Start using helicopters to fly his (_)_) around the state instead of being driven in a car (MA is small, take less than 1.5 hours to get ANYWHERE in that state) at the expense of the taxpayer.

Patrick was called out on ALL of it with a very loud, “Who the F do you think you are?” He reimbursed the state (supposedly) for the $35K new curtains. He dismissed his wife’s personal assistant. He promised to reimburse the taxpayers (supposedly) for the difference in cost between leasing a Town Car and the Cadillac he decided he needed. And he “cut down” on the use of an official helicopter to fly his (_)_) around the state.

Those Massachusetts Dems and their sense of entitlement, do as I say, not as I do attitude is REALLY somethin’ else.

      • JGoolsby

Having lived in Massachusetts and have family there, I can vouch for what you say. The “Democrats” in that state have a colossal sense of entitlement and sadly the Moonbats in that state have the majority and keep feeding their egos and sense of entitlement.

Case in point: Joe Biden. The Left considers him a foreign policy expert because he was on a Senate committee dealing with foreign policy. Only in these sense of a paycheck. Are you going to try and compare a bureaucrat to a soldier? Go ahead.

  • maggiespat

You might want to rephrase that to a servant of the people of the USA, who greatly thank him for his service!

What is it with you and Cinderella? A little envy going on there? Mommy didn’t buy you a dress for the prom? Let it go. You can’t be a hater forever.

  • Thomas, Snarkmaster General

Let’s see… you mocked Tammy Bruce in a different thread and said you were better than I was because, in your words, “I’m sane.”

    Pot. Kettle. Black, jackleg.

Did you say the same thing to the countless folks who cried that Romney was too rich to be President?

You may not have been paying attention, but I found it amusing when McCain ran for office and the left cried that he’s too rich and out-of-touch. They did they same when Romney ran for office – too rich and out-of-touch. And I recalled that when Kerry ran for office, a man with a higher net worth than McCain or Romney, the left said his wealth didn’t matter. Hilarious hypocrisy!

tops116 wasn’t expressing jealousy, he was making a joke of that fact that each time there’s a volatile situation in the world, Kerry really is on his yacht..

  • Michelle

I just remembered another Hilarious Hypocrisy from the left. When Kerry ran for office, the left made a Really Big Deal of the fact that Kerry served in Vietnam and Bush had not. The left screamed loud and proud that being a war vet made him more qualified to run this country. (Never mind the fact that his 3 Purple Hearts were for minor boo-boos that didn’t take him out of action, and that he CHOSE to come home and leave his brothers behind when he took advantage of the rule a person can request to go home after 3 Purple Hearts.) The left INSISTED Kerry’s Vietnam experience was a BFD.

And then McCain ran for office, and a Really Big Deal was made of his Vietnam service and experience (which absolutely trumps Kerry’s) and the left cried that military experience didn’t matter as a President (because then their guy would look weak for not serving a single day, and his VP took five draft deferments.) And here’s the kicker – Kerry got three boo-boos and asked to go home. McCain was a POW for years, and the North Vietnamese offered to release him because of who his father was, McCain turned it down, saying he would not go home without the other prisoners. He remained a POW for another few years.

So the left is just really hilarious. When Their Guy was the war vet with a couple of boo-boos who begged to come home, He’s a hero and a Really Big Deal. But when the Other Guy is the BIGGER hero who REFUSED to leave his brothers behind, the left said it didn’t matter.

And the left even made fun of his permanent shoulder disabilities that were the result of years of torture.

    You people are effin’ insane.

  • Thomas, Snarkmaster General

Nah. Conservatives don’t envy the rich. That’s the Left’s MO.

“You don’t win because you get to point a finger. Grow up.” Do you say that to the countless folks who (to this day) blame Bush for everything?

  • Thomas, Snarkmaster General

No. I win because Leftists like you are cowardly and stupid.

  • nc

Wow, tell that to people who work in hospitals, or police/fire stations.

Not to mentions millions of other honest hard working Americans whose jobs don’t stop just because of a date on a calendar.

  • pen44

Tocks, I happen to be working on Labor Day…I’m a nurse in a hospital ER. I see a lot of losers on holidays….ALL OF THEM.

  • pen44

Thank you for your service to your country, Joel!!

  • pen44

Joel, Justin sounds like a career student living in his old room, talking tough while hiding behind his computer screen. The wimp most likely wouldn’t make it through basic training.

  • Joel A. Edge

    I’m guessing you’re right.

  • TocksNedlog

You were, of course, replying to Justin Case, not me.

  • TocksNedlog

Yep. My mom was a hospital nurse; she did the same thing.

  • nc

Of course, Tocks. Sorry if I caused any confusion.

Looks like the mods finally booted the wormy troll outtahere!
