Fro-mentum: Bill de Blasio campaign urges voters to #GoWithTheFro

For as much fun as the country has had coming up with headlines and campaign slogans featuring the name “Weiner,” it took a special effort for New York mayoral candidate Bill de Blasio to come up with something that could compete. How about #GoWithTheFro? Who doesn’t love his son Dante’s epic mane?

It’s not the first time a hairstyle has been part of a political campaign, but at least John “Silky Pony” Edwards was running on the strength of his own locks.

The New York Times found itself unwittingly stepping into controversial territory with its description of Dante’s afro as “oversize.”

    Fro envy.

And, apparently, nytimes.com is still down.

As someone who’s grown up in NYC, let me just tell you that we’re f***king sunk if this guy actually pulls off a win here. ANYONE currently running for mayor –including Wiener — would be a better choice than Bill DeBlasio.

He’s from the extreme far-left element in NYC politics that saw Giuliani as a borderline Nazi and spent the last two decades just aching to undo everything that he did for the city. If he gets in, we’re back to Abe Beame/David Dinkins style urban decay and crime. He will gleefully dismantle the NYPD, which is the only thing keeping us from Chicago/Detroit levels of violence, and one of the few things that Bloomberg could be counted on to do right. He’ll also jack up taxes and give the public sector unions free reign.

The really scary part is that if he manages to win the primary (which he may), he’s got a very good shot in the general election. No thank you.

If Bill deBlasio had a son, he would look like Barack Obama.

    What drivel.

Elect a Weiner or a Fro, either way you get a d&*k head in the mayors office.

Funny enough, I guess, but why does he want people to vote for his son?
