#GetTheBlaze: Glenn Beck, others demand liberty-minded alternative to Al Jazeera America

Earlier this year, Glenn Beck revealed that he’d offered to buy the viewer-starved Current TV. Current turned him down because he was not “aligned” with its point of view. To be fair, Beck’s “point of view” includes knowing how to cultivate an audience, and Current clearly wanted nothing to do with that.

The network instead wound up selling itself to Al Jazeera, and today, cable and satellite providers began offering Al Jazeera America to 48 million Americans. That’s all well and good, but what about the millions of Americans who aren’t keen on blatant left-wing propaganda? They deserve a voice. And Beck and other liberty lovers want them to get it:

Get The Blaze

Tweeters are stepping up in droves to demand that providers add The Blaze to their lineups:

The Blaze means a lot to many people. Here’s why:

  • Rob

Excellent! When I called Comcast, the person I spoke with was a Blaze TV subscriber. Talk about pleasantly shocked!

  • $17227379

Beck is just worried AJA is crazier than him. He’s almost right.

    • Fire and Adjust!

Beck is rising, Oprah is falling………… and AJA will get its only viewership by stealing the pitiful few MSNBC still has left…….so who is the crazy one again?

    • ObamaFail

More like we’re going to have more jihadi sympathizers because of that left-wing fringe anti-American network.
Beck isn’t a extremist loving socialist. That’s why you liberals hate him. While the left-wing fringe was blaming the Oklahoma tornado a couple of months back on Republicans (like any man controls the weather), Beck was using his charity to get food and supplies to the people there. It shows which side is the side of action, and which side is the side that throws out names and pathetic accusations.

Someone has the sads because their propaganda masters are tumbling into the abyss. You go ahead dhimmi, and watch AJA,while the rest of us throw out the kool-aide stands.

      • $17227379

Don’t watch Beck, won’t watch AJA.

    • V the K

It just burns you leftists that Beck made $90M last year, and you guys have to suck on George Soros’s dry scaly reptilian teat.

      • $17227379

        Ew.

    • Elaine

HAHA Nice try. Beck’s been right about so many things now, it makes me understand all the attacks and vile rumors from the left. I WANT THE BLAZE so I don’t have to be a DishHead. AJA won’t get any viewers unless they are the Muslims trying to ruin our great country.

    • Jill

In other words, you don’t have a coherent response, right? Out of interest, what do you find so crazy? Was it his belief that the Muslim Brotherhood would turn out wrong? The NSA spying? The IRS targetting of the Tea Party?

If you think about the total amount of liberal-based networks that exist on your typical channel line-up, it seems nonsensical from a business model, to exclude one that would appeal to the other 50% of the electorate…..IOW, conservatives.

    Comcast…are you listening?

    • V the K

I quit Comcast six months ago. This is the first week I’ve come close to missing it.

Libertarian is definitely the new black. 😀 Hopefully The Blaze becomes popular enough so more conservative/libertarian views can saturate the TV world.

I thought proud firearms owners were the new black. it’s getting crowded on the dark side of the street.

To all DirecTV users, DirecTV added Al Jazeera to their channel lineup today, channel 358. They have no plans to carry TheBlaze, so I will be cancelling my service and going to Roku/Hulu/PlayOn for my TV. I am NOT going go give one penny to a network that funds terrorists. I have HAD it with vendors who want to push a left-wing agenda. So, goodbye DirecTV and good riddance!!

AJA: One day on the air, and it’s already been discredited.

  • SenatorBClaghorn

I dropped Comcast today and got Dish. After dropping off my equipment at the local Comcast service center, the rep asked if I was moving, I said “No”. She then asked if I was unhappy with Comcast’s service, I said “No”. She looked at me kind of funny, as if to ask, “So why are you quitting?” I then said that I no longer wanted to support NBC and MSNBC directly through their parent company, Comcast. I also said that because Comcast didn’t offer the Blaze, I decided to look elsewhere and Dish has the Blaze.

    • Zanshi

Comcast is insufferable in the Philadeplhia area.

  • Ken Alan Draper

I may watch a few minutes of Al Diarrhea just for laughs. propaganda can be so cheesey.

  • Sara Nichols

Trying to send emails to Comcast on the Get The Blaze site. No luck.

  • $9898556

These providers have been being asked for awhile now and they’re playing politics.

I’ve subscribed for years and cannot sing the networks praises enough.

Looks like Directv is aiding and abetting terrorists. I resent my money being scammed by Directv to pass on to the propaganda arm of Al-Qaeda.

You knew Current was going down the tubes when they hired Keith Uberdork to try to boost their ratings. Like that was going to make it happen.
But Keith is like one of those slashers in those cheesy horror films– he has this annoying habit of not staying dead and buried.
    He’s b-a-a-a-c-k — starting Monday on ESPN.
They must really be scared of the new Fox Sports One, to bring back the Big Kahuna to face a couple of “who’s-thats” in his time slot!
Tell your cable provider you don’t want ESPN. You watch too much sports anyway.

  • Damien Johnson

Why are we even still relying on cable? I abandoned tv for the most part quite a while ago, I don’t even miss it. Even my mom who’s in her 60s is sick of cable and wants to get rid of it.

Glenn Beck wants to reach the masses with his programming. Glenn was real mad about Romney being a bad candidate and Obama winning re-election. So the plan of both The Blaze and One America News is to take on Fox News.

However, a guy at The Blaze’s news site made a interesting comment, in the comment area ,that if The Blaze were just free to view and strictly online it might get a wide audience as well. However, the system costs 10 bucks a month to help pay for the running of the network. But One America News streams for free.

See right after Glenn started to make his push to get The Blaze on cable systems, around February, another conservative channel was in the works called One America News from Herring Broadcasting and The Washington Times. It debuted on July 4th. Glenn’s The Blaze started on September 12 of 2011.

So two outlets are trying to get on cable systems that are conservative. Both outlets are billing themselves as alternatives to not only Al Jazeera America but Fox News and CNN. They both see Fox News as being flawed, CNN as washed up and leftist along with MSNBC, and Al Jazeera America as anti-American. So both say it is time for a new news source.

One America has 24 hour news, but is in its soft launch phase so there is room for development and promises that it will add more shows and start a propaganda blitz when the hard launch begins. The Blaze has shows and streams Glenn’s radio program, but it is in need of more content and Glenn has made promises of wanting to go 24/7, which means basically be with programming at least 15 to 18 hours before they repeat overnight on the channel.

Ok, so it’s about getting into the mainstream, which admittedly tv still has a huge hold on.

Blaze or not. I refuse to get cable until it’s ala-carte. If they expect me to hand over $40-$100/mo I refuse to give it to a business model that pays Al Jazeera/MSNBC through my subscription costs.
Until then. No one gets my money.
