Hey, Reince Priebus, know what’s really ‘horrific’? Ask Jamiel Shaw’s family

Earlier today, Business Insider reported that RNC chairman Reince Priebus called Mitt Romney’s self-deportation remarks “racist” and “horrific.”

BI was forced to issue a correction after it became clear that Priebus didn’t use the word “racist”; He said Romney’s talk of self-deportation “hurts us.”

Priebus has not distanced himself from his claim that “self-deportation” is a “horrific” term.

Here’s what’s really horrific: 17-year-old California high school student Jamiel Shaw was gunned down by an illegal immigrant. The results of open borders and sanctuary cities are horrific. There are crimes committed by gang members who are in this country illegally that are horrific.

Words and ideas that make the RNC chair uncomfortable? Not horrific.

Not from us, he doesn’t.

It’s also worth noting that the RNC press office confirmed the original Priebus quote when William Jacobson of Legal Insurrection reached out for comment.

So someone at the RNC thought “racist” was a spiffy term to describe “self-deportation.” And “horrific” is still just dandy.

Thanks again for the leadership, GOP.

  • CatHerder

    Onward, into the murk.

  • NeoKong

What is horrific is that our own Chairman would be out there denouncing the guy we just ran for the White House.
How long has he been secretly disgusted by Mitt Romney?

    • Garth Haycock

Romney is not a politician or a DC insider, so the Republican Party wants nothing to do with him. In other words, Priebus has always been disgusted with Romney.

      • fivegreatkids

You nailed that. Romney would have cleaned house and many of these guys would have been out looking for a job. They probably believed the left wing propaganda and thought he was a push over they could control.

      • FilnerGropey

I’m no Romney fan but I agree. The establishment disowned him after he dared to defy them and debate Obeyme.

  • tjcuzns

I remember when Ann Coulter remarked that if Romney lost the election the GOP should pack it in, dis-band. Well now that Prince is the head GOP wing nut isn’t it over due Ms Ann?

  • Cajun

As usual Dana Loesch has it nailed. Everyone on both sides seems to forget the CURRENT law, concerning “entering the border of the U.S. without documentation”. Has anyone thought about those things they call “laws”? Do we ignore parts and enforce parts just to be PC and get maybe 11 million votes for the DEMS? OH, hell, that’s what is going on!!!!!!!!!!

    • Zathras11 @B5

I’m ignoring the law that says we have a President…for just over 3 more years.

      • objectivefactsmatter

If only it would be more effective than it has been so far.

  • Candice

I am so close to changing my party to Independent. Because more and more, the Republican Party is disgusting me. Time to start a Conservative Party. Or something.

    • RblDiver

Indeed. At one point I was willing to stomach bad candidates in favor of avoiding worse ones. Now, I’m willing to say screw you to both parties and vote for someone who shares my values. If we lose, so be it, the long-run returns will hopefully be improved as our “betters” see that they aren’t so better anymore.

      • stillinthe60s

Came to same conclusion after voting for McShame and Mittens! Voting for liberal lights doesn’t solve our problems.

I am now a registered conservative in NY. I will still give to individual candidates that i like, but my days of giving to the party are over.

    • Richard Wayne

It would help the conservatives if Libertarians became a moderating force in the democrat party. Conservatives get moderated/betrayed by the establishment types. Liberals have no such influence. We can’t just hand over one entire party to the far left liberals (just look at their leadership compared to ours.)

    • objectivefactsmatter

I honestly have not investigated the tea party movement, but that is the way to do it. Keep your options open by registering with the best viable party and then use outside grass roots pressure to get the potential election winning party to recognize the values of the “new wing.”

That means Republican Party, even if you don’t like it.

    • Conservative First

Left the GOP after the 2012 election… My CA voter card now says “Unaffiliated”

      • plaingolf

Great. Maybe if a million more like minded people like you would leave the party we could bring it back to it’s original intention. Fiscal conservatism and that’s it. All of that other crap is just wedge issues inserted by religious hangers on and Democratic operatives.

  • Magnifico

So, if it’s horrific, then what sort of people would commit this horrific act? RAAAAAACCCCCCISTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Jake Wilde

The GOP is still lost in so many ways. They have no idea how to frame an argument when debating the left and they know so little about street level dynamics. This is the big government establishment within the GOP and I’d argue big government is not conservative in any way. I bet Priebus doesn’t like Libertarians either, he just courts them out of prudence.

    • Adela Wagner

He can TRY to court this one all he wants. I see right through him and all the RINO’s they’re prancing out. I keep track of voting records and I do my homework before I arrive at the polling station. I can’t see one thing so far that he has done for his party.
All I see are a LOT of missed opportunities this past year especially. The RNC and Boehner are co-opt’d, clueless, lazy and for “show”.

  • http://baldilocks-talking.blogspot.com/ Juliette Akinyi Ochieng

Young Jamiel Shaw was murdered by an illegal alien gang member while the former was standing in front of his own home. At the time, Shaw’s mother, a US Army soldier, was serving in Iraq. She had to come home to bury her son. #irony

    • ObamaFail

And yet the liberal media didn’t make a big deal out of it like they did with Trayvon Martin. The reason why is they are pushing a pro-illegal alien agenda because the Democrats want those extra voters. So they will help cover up the story of a black teen murdered by an illegal alien because they don’t want to expose the danger of legalizing millions of illegals.
But we also can’t ignore the women raped by illegals either.

When a 17-year-old boy named Trayvon is killed by a “white Hispanic” citizen, our Fearless Leader thinks we all need to do some “soul-searching”, but when a 17-year-old boy name Jamiel is killed by an illegal alien, said Fairless Leader, his administration, and most of the media become Sergeant Schulz. This double standard is what I call horrific.

    • RLEE

Not to mention Jamiel and his family seem like really good people so of course our leader has nothing to say

Jamiel wasn’t a thug, so that’s why the race-baiters don’t see any purpose in making a big deal out of his murder.

I gotta agree – self-deportation is “horrific” Case in point, an illegal alien killed a friend of mine 10 yrs ago, he “self-deported” back to Mexico to escape justice. My friend is still dead and his killer still remains free. Now THAT is horrific self-deportation.

Exactly where I am at, Michelle. I don’t label myself either.

I feel like the two party system has a large part to play in the decline of our country. I feel like there are a lot of republicans and democrats who have been coming to the same conclusion over the past 8 years.

So where are the Libertarians, our nation’s 3rd largest party? Why aren’t their reps on CNN, Fox, MSNBC etc. extolling their platform? The People are ready for them!

  • CACorey

NO ONE at the RNC cares for what Michelle Malkin or any of the other talk radio warriors, bloggers, commentators has to say about them. They’re taking over the debates, spending millions of dollars hiring facebook data experts and digital entrepreneurs, and spending millions more hiring people on a purely affirmative action basis to speak solely to minority voters. They’re doing these things because recent history shows it’s the only way for a national party to be nationally proficient against the Democratic Party that has successfully used such tools in two subsequent elections.

The aforementioned sideline warriors have called this all a waste of time. To which the RNC would correctly respond, YOU’RE a waste of our time. They couldn’t care less, and they shouldn’t care less, about conservative detractors. The party needs to grow and all growth prospects are in the non-white, not conservative (yet) demographics. They don’t have a problem with white voters, and they sure as hell don’t have one among conservative voters. They don’t even have a problem with independents right now. So forget the Malkins, Limbaughs, Levins, Ericksons, etc.. Win an election, then maybe they’ll listen.

    • http://twitter.com/thetugboatphil TugboatPhil

That sounds good on paper, but we’ve had Democrat Lite since GHW Bush. GW Bush talked a good campaign in 2000, but if you recall the days just before 9/11, he was about to go all out for an amnesty bill. He also spent like there was no tomorrow on much more than just the wars.

Given a choice between a Democrat and a “kind of” Democrat (someone who tells people what they want to hear and promises stuff) they’ll choose the Democrat every time. Even if we’d have gotten 70% of the Latino vote, it wouldn’t have bridged the gap between Romney and Obama.

The Republicans DO have a problem with white voters. Every time they run a country club wimp they alienate more white, working class voters. Those are the voters who put Reagan into office.

      • CACorey

And that sounds good, in theory, but G.W. Bush was not only a winner, but helped to redefine modern conservatism. A party that ignores its victories is a losing one, indeed.

And the MSNBC crowd, if they would deign to report on a story like this, would probably in all likelihood claim that Twitchy and Michelle and all those evil Righties are cynically trying to pit black versus brown– indisputable incontrovertible evidence of their racism!

As if it were a given that somehow black and brown are, or should be, joined at the hip on every issue, and should gang up on whitey.

Point out this unstated and unsupportable assumption, and YOU are going to be called “racist.”

But the new tactic, you see, is to tell THEM, every time, without fail, “I’m sorry, but your race card has been declined– you max’d it out a long time ago, and there are no overdrafts allowed any more. Please take your business elsewhere.”

Has the RNC noticed the decline in donations from the ‘little people’? Oh wait, all Rove & Reince, Reese, Rience, Reese Peanut Butter Cup whatever his name is……., care about is the BIG donors.
I am Mexican American, 3rd generation, and support LEGAL IMMIGRATION…I oppose illegal immigration & yet understand we must deal w/ the MILLIONS OF ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS, & LEGAL AMERICAN CHILDREN ….and Blanket Amnesty is not the answer.
Moderate and Conservative, and even Liberal Democrats, will be rather surprised what will happen in 2013, 2014, 15, etc., when we essentially say ‘ come on over!’ to all of Mexico & Central America….all those silly ‘rules, and boundaries are gone!’
Lets just enforce existing immigration laws better & fully, acknowledge the US-Mexico border is a high crime zone, w/ a horrendous murder rate, and address that much better, and go forward w/ a logical step by step Amnesty-Immigration Plan – knowing fully the GOP WILL NOT GET 1% OF ANY CREDIT FOR AMNESTY. Not today, not tomorrow.
Does anyone who is pro-amnesty, give any credit to Ronald Reagan in that speech…no, they go directly to the GOP Hates Immigrants. Period.

Anyone that went to Tampa last August and walked away believing the RNC/GOP leadership were anything other than liars and thieves must have gone to Busch Gardens and not the convention. What time they weren’t breaking their own party’s rules, they were making them up, or changing them mid-breath.

For those members of the GOP offended by my remarks, don’t be mad at me, change your leadership. You can’t throw stones at the Dems with fake conservative leadership and fake constitutionalists who care no more about upholding their oaths of office and preserving our constitutional republic than the Dems. Talk is cheap.

What’s “horrific” is that the GOP leadership in Congress refuse to hold a hearing on “The Jamiel Shaw, Jr. Memorial Act.” H.R. 1888. http://blog.firecoalition.com

The NSA, DHS, etc… are spying on Americans, and Members of Congress express righteous indignation, yet refuse to require the FBI to track illegal alien crime, and refuse to withhold funding from sanctuary cities that won’t work with ICE to identify illegal alien criminals. That is what H.R. 1888 would change.

You want to help the Shaw Family? Help get a hearing on H.R. 1888. Download the information packet at the FIRE Coalition Blog above. I agree with Jamiel withdrawing his support for Gowdy’s bill, but I also believe there needs to be a hearing for “The Jamiel Shaw, Jr. Memorial Act of 2013.”

Ask your Congressman why the GOP leadership is blocking efforts to amend the Uniform Crime Reporting Act (UCR). Ask them why they are blocking the FBI from tracking and reporting illegal alien crime.

Why don’t we become what America was, the country that openly welcomed immigrants legally…the country of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island? Why don’t we open the “front door” of immigration wide? Doesn’t open immigration show we embrace competition without government intervention?

If the front door of legal immigration were opened, the most dangerous place to be would be the shores of the Rio Grande, where we would be TRAMPLED by illegals “self deporting” to run back around to the front door to come in legally.

And we’d be a step closer to being America again…..

Reince Priebus, Hispandering is an example of why people won’t donate to the RNC.

Dear RNC there is an election in about a year, and illegal aliens are not going to donate $$$$ to the RNC coffers or offer to help get out the vote for Republicans.

The stupid party’s learning curve is steep. Illegal aliens may be be the cheap labor that the U.S. Chamber of commerce lobby’s Republican’s for but the U.S. Chamber of commerce doesn’t get to vote in elections – U.S. citizens are the only people with the RIGHT to vote.

I won’t vote for one politician that is pushing -promoting amnesty not “1”.

I am really looking forward to Rubio and Ayotte being primaried in 2016. Obviously they think they are members of the Mexican government’s legislature not the United States of America.

Constitutional Freedom Party – It is not a Full fledged 3rd party, but it is going to become one. right now Candidates are being Vetted, they are being endorsed. They are Running as Republicans but we are trying.

This is the Page on Facebook : https://www.facebook.com/groups/CFP4US/

This is how to get a hold of them on Twitter : @CFP4US

Carolyn started this group. she has been working really hard. the Rest of us just joined in. Like I said it is not a Third Party, but we are vetting Candidates, sharing what we can do, and trying to make a difference.

But if given the choice, I will have to vote off ticket. For instance there is NO WAY in the state of Michigan, if Terry Lynn Land is the Republican Senate Nominee that I would ever vote for her. Stuck with the Liberal, Michigan wake up, I will vote off ticket.

I’m willing to suffer through four years of Hilary (2016-2020) if that’s what it takes to get a Constitutionally Patriotic party started.GOP brand has been shot.
