‘This is the one’: Drudge editor’s CIA source raises key question about Benghazi bombshell

In May, Drudge editor Joseph Curl tweeted that a CIA source said there was still one more Obama scandalpalooza shoe to drop. “Yes, four shoes. Dead ambassador, tapped phones, IRS probes. Will it be worse? Can it be?!” he asked. After the Fox News/DOJ scandal broke, Curl’s source suggested the White House was still sitting on something explosive that had “top aides terrified.”

Would that be the fifth shoe? The sixth? With all these “phony” scandals, it’s hard to keep track.

On Thursday, CNN revealed that dozens of CIA operatives were on the ground in Benghazi during the Sept. 11 attack and suggested that the government is using intimidation to keep them quiet. On a late-night call, Curl’s CIA source said, “This is the one.”

Curl’s source asks a key question: What were all those agents doing in Libya?

According to CNN:

Speculation on Capitol Hill has included the possibility the U.S. agencies operating in Benghazi were secretly helping to move surface-to-air missiles out of Libya, through Turkey, and into the hands of Syrian rebels.

How many more shoes does #ImeldaObama have in his closet?

More from Curl’s CIA source:

Paging the Obama administration. We’re waiting.

It does make a difference.

I believe the President is the only one that can do that. He met with Leon Penetta and General Ham at about 5pm. The attack started at 3:45. Penetta announced that we could not send help because we don’t know what we would be sending our men into. I took that to mean we were going to stand down. The order must have come from Obama.

  • http://www.twitter.com/klejdys Klejdys

The joke is on people who think Obama is pulling the strings here. Do you suppose President Golf Game really cares about moving weapons to Syria? Of course, my fellow conservatives, in their rush to hate “O”, miss the power struggles going on behind the scenes. Understanding that the turf battles between fiefs in DC and representing the corrupt elite is the key to “how things really work”. Draining the swamp means exposing and defunding the (secret) organizations that perpetuate this behavior. That’s the only thing bureaucracies understand. Personally, I can’t trust the GOP to do that! They are spineless (see: Boehner, John – Mr. Wall Street handout. Mr. Weepy). At least the Dems stab you in the front.
Too often rah-rah conservatives, in their stupid efforts to demonize the people who pull back the curtain (Manning, Snowden), make their own efforts to pare back the state look foolish because this is where the true power lies. This is why liberals make fun of us. The CIA (NSA/FBI/DOD etc) is a massively corrupted, powerful organization that derives their power and influence from getting Congress to approve huge budgetary outlays (in secret!) to fund their often nefarious and evil activities under the guise of “protecting the citizens.” Both parties buy into this BS. They do what they want. To stop sh*t like this – cut the size and scope of the federal bureaucracy. ALL OF IT, INCLUDING DEFENSE. President Zero (like the President Zero before him) have much less to do with this BS than everyone thinks.

    • tjp77

There is corruption at all levels, but you’re a fool if you don’t think the chief executive sets the tone and moves that corrupt agenda forward. You can’t fix any of the problems you’ve mentioned so long as an infinitely corruptible and truly despicable man is at the head of the government.

As for Manning and Snowden, well, Manning is a pissant and attention whore who had no freaking idea what he was leaking, he was just doing it for the lulz. When it blew up in his face he assumed the posture of the noble whistleblower, but the simple fact is that he was in absolutely no position to assess the data he released, and therefore could not have had any understanding of the implications. He just did it because he could. Snowden is a slightly different story, but he lost all sympathy from me the minute he ran to the arms of the worlds worst dictators in the name of ‘civil liberties’ (??). He had the potential to be a noble figure if he had stayed to face the music like others before him have, but instead he turned out to be just another punk who wanted to ‘stick it to the man’. Without his NSA clearance he’d have been wearing a Che shirt and sleeping in an Occupy tent somewhere.

The CIA and NSA have problems to be sure, but they are not THE problem. The problem is Obama, and to a larger extent, the liberal culture of government as parent, priest and god which he represents. Taking him down is the only way to put a dent in that machine.

      • http://www.twitter.com/klejdys Klejdys

How did it work out for JFK when he set the agenda to “scattering the CIA to the 4 winds?” (Mostly) unaccountable government workers in these organizations have the expertise and the patience to outlast admin appointees who are around for temporary time periods. Understand the process. It’s about protecting your turf, increasing your budget and aiding the powerful. (Like the CIA is around for YOUR benefit. LOL.) You, like most cons, are blinded by your hatred for Obama. He sucks, I get it. But he’s a symptom of the problem, just like Jorge W. BushAmnesty. See WHY things work. Just don’t repeat talking points from corrupt Conservatism, Inc.
You have no proof, just guesses as to why Snowden did what he did (My theory: he did because he was shocked at how easy and deep it was to access every piece of data on anyone. He was truly shocked that our tax dollars went to spy on our own people.). Now pause. Take off your Conservatism, Inc., glasses and ask yourself – would your opinion of Snowden change if he was an admitted Tea Partier who wanted to cut government spending by saying we are spending too much on programs to spy on our own people, and that it’s a violation of the 4th amendment of the Bill of Rights, which as a citizen he couldn’t standby and allow? Would Glenn Greenwald’s advocacy of his data releases change? (I reckon, no.) Finally, do you agree with Obama administration – the one you reference as so odious and corrupt and evil, by the way, that this guy should be charged w/ treason? Because when it comes to butting our nose into other countries’ business, there is no political parties and we’re all neocons now?

        • a9e

You’re speaking from an impossible perch. Top-down moralism about both parties, all agencies, Snowden and anyone like him. That’s fine, even righteous, but it’s not grounded in realism or practicality.

Our government is altered by us in precisely small, incremental ways. Those we elect are given extraordinary powers and our tacit assent to do exactly the things they do in the intervals between elections. It’s been going on since the beginning – pressing up against the limits of the language of the Constitution – and lawyers are good at finding loopholes inconsistencies that warrant “extra-constitutional” prerogative.

A revolution – a total-rewrite of the Constitution – would be required to address your “statement of the problem”. But any system we might devise, in which LIBERTY has any foothold at all, will eventually be abused by virtue of personal sin.

So I disagree with your outlook. Our system is greatly flawed, but our chief exec and his coterie and all their lackeys: are always at the core of the problem. The institutional bureaucrats that have government tenure – can only be sidelined by a president that wants to do so.

how did it work for Kennedy? Kennedy was taken out by the KGB using Oswald, a soviet sleeper agent in retaliation for the Blockade of Cuba that forced the soviets to remove their nuclear first strike weapons from Cuba. the same faction of the soviet government later tried to Launch a nuke attack on Hawaii in 1968 using a sub & starting a war between the U.S. & China thus eliminating the only capitalist country that could stand up to the U.S.S.R. & eliminating their chief rival for leadership of the communist world. Oswald WAS a soviet sleeper agent.

It then becomes whether you are AWARE that you should be hiding this or that thing. Being law-abiding is eventually not enough. Witness the IRS scandal; did any of those conservatively aligned nonprofits know they had something to hide, like the word “patriot” or the phrase “tea party?” They certainly believed they had nothing to hide. • GrindingMills

My prediction is that Benghazi was/is an ultra-confidential CIA operation and when it went bad, the administration (Obama, Hillary and the CIA) wasn’t prepared with a cover. Due to the possible classified element of this, I think the GOP has laid down their arms in the heavy investigation. Now I think you’re going to get a few CIA people leaking info out in a very slow drip, but I don’t think we’re ever going to get the full story for a long time. I think what may happen is that Hillary is going to get bludgeoned in 2016 and then I think in an effort to protect the democrat candidate, Obama might declassify some of the mission. I think that’s our only hope.

We must impeach! I call up my Rep’s and Sens’ office only to be treated poorly by staff assistant. We do not have a representative government. Wake up America! We are being attacked by our own government.

  • Harry Stolzy

I knew Hillary was lying when Rand Paul questioned her about weapons moving from Benghazi through Turkey and she said she would have to check on that. She had that deer in the headlights look.

  • Harry Stolzy

I knew Hillary was lying when Rand Paul questioned her about smuggling weapons through Turkey.

  • Noneya

This is an impeachable offense as I’m sure once the onion is pealed back many more mysteries including why CIA Director General Petraeus resigned suddenly comes to light. Who has the balls to shout it from the roof tops of the Capital?

    • right_on

There will be no impeachment, unless the GOP retains the House, retakes the Senate in 2014, and Boehner is replaced as Speaker of the House (second in succession.) I wouldn’t want Biden to escape impeachment, be sworn in as President, nor have the cry-baby to be in line to take over. Would you?

      • Finrod Felagund

Even if the GOP retook the Senate, Obama might be impeached but wouldn’t be convicted by the Senate (just like Clinton) since it takes 2/3rds of the Senate to convict. Remember that no Democrat in either the House or the Senate voted against Clinton even though he had clearly committed perjury.

        • POCCAS

Wrong. Clinton perjured himself about his personal life – something which at the end of the day was between himself, hillary and Monica. He shouldn’t have lied about it, but at the end of the day, it was his personal life, so the GOP was viewed as overreaching and self-righteous and they paid the price fall of 1998 when they lost 5 House seats (although still maintaining House majority).

In the case of Benghazi, Americans were killed, an administration did absolutely to save them, and now as more and more details are uncovered, it turns out the administration is threatening witnesses and their families. Obviously, a much more threatening issue than a president simply getting a consensual bj from an intern. As a result, I think Dems will be in a huge corner. They will want to run away from the president or oppose him in every way they can to show they’re not aligned with this – a combination of horrible twisted corruption combined with incompetence.

  • right_on

Anyone waiting for John McCain to start defending his new bestie? He was and is, after all, all for intervention, and supplying arms to those poor under-armed jihadis…

  • Ipsophakto

What difference, at this point, does it make?
    That’s what SHE said.
All the difference in the world – for principles like integrity, leadership, honesty, honor, and the lives of those who were killed due to Hillary / Obama incompetence, cowardice, and political arse-covering.

The White House and Hillary are lie-hydrants.

Time to add a segment to “Hillary, The Movie” about Benghazi and re-release it.

  • right_on

I think who are skeptical will sooner or later rely on Occam’s Razor to get to the truth (reasoning that says the simplest answer is often correct.) The Obama distractions are designed purposely, to cover the truth.

Was Holder on the line also?

  • slhancock

There was a report that over 30 more people were inside the “consulate” that night. WHY? And, why that night? The SEALS who were there that night went over to protect ALL who were known to be in the building. Their actions saved the lives of those people, and we know nothing about what they were doing there at night. I doubt that they were living there. Wasn’t that large of a complex. Good question, really, this one is.

  • ArmsMerchant

Obama’s next defense: We had to lie to keep the op secret. Not a cover-up, just a cover story.

Nope. Will. Not Work. Fast and Furious was to do away with Americans owning weapons, and that was a deal they did with Mexico before O was anointed, Jan 2009.
The Administration had no business in Libya. Gadaffi was dead and gone.

Benghazi is a ‘phoney’ scandal, Barry?

    *phoney* scandal MY A$$!

It looks like the Corrupt Liar has been trying to keep a lid on info about all those CIA Agents who were on the ground in Benghazi on 9/11/12 …but alas for this enemy of Constitutional America, the truth is leaking out

I hope he and Killary have organised a hole to run to, because they are heading for DOOM, as each further wee packet of Benghazi truth drops into the Public arena

Since CNN are walking off the Obama Reservation and reporting this blockbuster news …. their ratings will rocket, so they may keep reporting the truth in order to STAY IN BIZNESS! … HA!

I wonder what the Corrupt One and Killary spoke about at their private WH lunch on Monday?

maybe Killary was asking if she can flee with him to asylum in Africa before the Benghazi SWORD of DAMOCELES falls across their CORRUPT LYING NECKS …

May the full and TERRIBLE TRUTH be UNCOVERED!

Remember that between 10 and 20 thousand MANPAD rockets were unaccounted for in Libya? Victoria Neuland, in a public statement released from State, denied Russia’s claim of U. S. arms trafficking in Syria, not once but several times. You see, they knew what we the American people didn’t know!

  • chewinmule

“State Department spokesperson Victoria Nuland said in a press conference August 25, 2011, that the U.S. wants to be certain the Libyan Transitional National Council, or TNC (the rebel entity that the U.S. and many other nations have
recognized as Libya’s legitimate government) is prepared to secure
    potentially missing weapons.

Military regimes such as Qaddafi’s buy all types of weapons systems
from the lowest bidder. While Qaddafi certainly had tanks and aircraft,
regimes like his also want smaller, more cost-efficient systems, such as
the MANPADS. Nuland addressed those, as well as the possibility of
missing nuclear or chemical components in Libya.

Nuland said rumors and press reports of wide varieties of weapons missing in Libya are “fear mongoring.”

“The main concern in Libya is MANPADS,” said Nuland. “We’ve been
working with the TNC . . . for a number of months. We’ve been working
with all of the neighbors on any MANPADS that might have been
proliferated or could be proliferated. The TNC wants to continue this
    work with us.”

Nuland said no one is sure how many MANPADS might be hidden in Libya.
Qaddafi was “good at hiding stuff,” she said. “That also goes for
stockpiles of weapons that the TNC has been uncovering around the
country and wants to get rid of as it finds it.”

Nuland said the U.S. has already contributed $3 million to help find
and destroy conventional weapons in post-Qaddafi Libya. The money is
also to train Libyans to remove and destroy weapons. “Those programs we
expect will accelerate as the TNC takes full control,” she said.”
