James Woods, Ken Wahl: ‘Silent no longer!’ Wahl: More ‘closeted’ conservatives will come out

From your lips, Mr. Wahl! What brought that comment on? The power of Twitter did.

Yep. Actor James Woods has jumped into Twitter with amazing guns blazing. Actors Nick Searcy and Adam Baldwin continue to kick arse on Twitter, as does Ken Wahl. Gary Sinise, Pro-life actress Patricia Heaton, Kevin Sorbo, Dean Cain and other celebrities are busting out of the Hollywood conservative closet.

James Woods and Ken Wahl offer further encouragement and pledge to remain fierce fighters for truth.

Amen.

Twitter users offer their admiration and respect.

Make it happen! In the meantime, keep using the power of Twitter.

As Twitchy reported, James Woods immediately noticed that power and argued it is the way to combat the “media chokehold perpetrated by Liberal press.”

Bingo, sir.

Double amen. Keep the truth coming, gentleman.

      Rob Lowe?

I’m not sure Rob Lowe is ‘out’ yet and since he is on a liberal show like Parks and Recreation it might not be the wisest thing to do.

It’s important to know how many are willing to come out for freedom and who they are willing to join with asap. Conservatives, Tea Party & Libertarians are not homogeneous–there are degrees. Will atheists align their politics with the religious and with all or only one religion etc etc. These are Qs we need to address. Dems are great organizers as is/was Obama. Time to find out how many of those who want freedom more than security are willing to show some tolerance personal beliefs beyond freedom. If we split up we have no chance of success. Let’s get serious. Where are our organizers?

    • Sproing

Excellent point as we have failed pretty badly since Reagan to put forward men with dynamic leadership qualities who can inspire a disparate group of Americans to work together.
The current cohort of baby boomer led uber-liberals have become experts at picking at the ever present scabs of social wounds that exist in any vibrant growing society and then using those same tactics to divide us as one nation and turn them against ourselves. Their policies, while sounding oh so caring, are nothing but an attempt to legislate and regulate into existence their version of a society of equals. This is nothing but an aberrant definition of our founding documents intent to afford an equal opportunity for each of our citizens to seek their own socially non-destructive vision of health and happiness.
I believe that in their miss-guided attempt to create an artificial Utopia they will end up destroying the best and greatest experiment ever attempted by mankind to create a democratic nation that creates majority rule with a strong defense of minority rights for all…not the reverse

  • Marvin Nelson

Hi guys. I am a conservative member of academia who has been active on Twitter for a while now. I told my wife the other day that I was ready to “come out of the closet” at my college to spread the word that conservatives do indeed live on campus. As far as I am concerned, I can always find a job doing something, so am no longer afraid of repercussions. Lock and load!!

    • Chase C.

      Enjoy.

    • http://twitter.com/thetugboatphil TugboatPhil

It’s a shame that you’d even have to do that in the world of “free and open debate,” but the left is all about forcing their views and silencing dissent. My dad, who died in the early 70s, was a Physics teacher at a small, state college. But his worldview was not that much different from those in non-science departments. Today I think there is a Grand Canyon of separation in similar peer groups.

I wish you well and know that you can win any true argument. The bad thing is, the left’s argument is pretty much just name calling.

      • Marvin Nelson

Thanks, Phil. I appreciate the support and will call on the strength of conservatives as I begin spreading the word on my campus

    • WhoMeToo

      DO IT!!!

    • Michael Anderson (WB)

My uncle has been out and proud for a while now, but he’s in Texas which is more free than most. Also Math and CS profs are supposed to be eccentric. A friend in biology paid the price many years ago, he came out as a doctoral student which put a big cramp on his career.
As an electrical engineer I’m expected to be a bit conservative in my work so politically it’s not as big of a deal.

    • MNWoman

When I was in college, I learned quite quickly that I wanted to remain academically “solvent” it was important to stay quiet. The funny thing is I wasn’t even as motivated as far as politics go as I am now. I was definitely more “right” leaning, but of course had a lot to learn. In my classes, it seemed to me the more they tried to tell me what to think (i.e. liberal politics) the more I began to question their teachings. The more they pushed liberalism, the more conservative I became.

I have always been pro-life, and none of the arguments I heard in college did anything to change my mind. While I remained mostly quiet on political issues, since my views were more right leaning, I remember talking to a classmate of mine about why I am against abortion. She wanted me to sign a pro-choice petition and I said no, and explained my reasons why. During the next class, she started talking about the petition, and how many people were against it. She said something about even one of the people in this class was against it. Of course, my liberal professor and many of my classmates joined in on the discussion about how important it is to keep fighting for abortion rights and educate people on the facts. I just sat there and didn’t say anything. I wish I would have, but at that point, I was thinking of my grade.

      • Marvin Nelson

Right now, we still live in a free country where everyone has the right to his/her own beliefs and opinions. As an educator, it is my responsibility to present my students with unbiased, nonpartisan, cold, hard FACTS so that they can make informed decisions. I do not have the right to tell them how to think, what to believe, or whom to vote for. I am very upset when a professor like yours tries to use intimidation to attempt to force students to believe or act in a certain way. From now on, when this happens at my college, I will respond to protect the rights of students and other faculty.

        • Tigre57

This is a VERY common story. Most conservative students at most universities, keep silent so they can get through school. If they express ANY thought other than the “correct” one, they might as well write that class off, because they will probably fail. The professors are unfair, biased and drunk with the power of tenure. The students are discriminated against, graded unfairly by biased teachers, ridiculed in front of class, etc… And all done by the very people who claim to fight for the “little guy”, who claim to fight against “unfairness”.

    • Garth Haycock

Where do you teach? It would be good to know where some conservatives are out there in the world of academia when it’s time for my kids should they choose to go to college.

      • Marvin Nelson

I teach at a college near Atlanta. Where do you live?

        • Garth Haycock

I’m in Salt Lake, but I’d have no problem sending my kids to another state for a higher education. I’ve always been of the belief that it really doesn’t matter where one goes to school, so long as one gets a degree that is not worthless.

          • Marvin Nelson

I teach at Georgia Gwinnett College in Lawrenceville, northeast of Atlanta. We are a new college and are growing like a weed. Of course, we have our share of lib profs, but that’s just higher education.

    • palintologist

Anyone who could afford that kind of donation doesn’t need another dime from me.

It does indeed….it tells you how the libs in Hollywood have doubled down on the McCarthy tactics over the years.

McCarthyism, to a liberal, is only bad if a conservative is the protagonist.

    • HWarrior13

Only the more established actors can afford to speak out because your lot is so vindictive and only believe that liberals should be allowed free speech and freedom of religion.
Clearly a simple concept, and yet so difficult for you to understand, “arrow”.

    • ObamaFail

It’s only because Hollywood frowns upon people who don’t despise everything that makes America great. Many actors have to keep their mouth shut because the psycho libs running things won’t hire them if they sound too pro-American or pro-capitalism.

How nice it must be to get your way, but having to use scare tactics, threats, bullying, name calling, extortion, fear, leg-pulling, hood-winking and out right fuckedup behavior to get it.

Your probably in the same camp as that idiot Carey who thinks defacing monuments to great men is just dandy in trying to prove some obscure totally blunt “point”.

You are young, perhaps when you get some experience under your elastic waist yoga pants, you will realize that it’s not always about picking your battles, sometimes your battles pick you, and you can shrug off what others say or think about you, because suddenly you realize that’s not what is important. But you’re not there yet,or perhaps may never be.

#tcot = THE conservatives on twitter

  • Sproing

We can only hope the trend continues as Hollywood has been a major contributor to the continuing collapse of America’s core belief in itself and the growing divide that is tearing our social fabric apart. There are in all probability too many conservative or at least moderate actors in Hollywood for them all to be black-balled without serious consequences to their own industry.
The road down which the current liberal leadership is trying to force this country down has no good end as is becoming increasingly clear to anyone with the eyes to see, the ears to hear, and a mind that works in a rational real world way.
We are only doomed to repeat the history of prior great civilizations if we refuse to learn from the history of their failures.

  • Sproing

One additional comment. Does anyone find it hypocritical that Hollywood constantly produces product that displays businessmen, businesses, and corporate America as being essentially evil, corrupt, and anti-social while rewarding one trick ponies with monstrous pay-offs that would put the majority of the nations CEOs salaries to shame. they don’t even have to be capable of running multi-billion dollar business that employ thousands of people all over the world. All some Hollywood personalities have to do is look good in a bikini or a swim suit, have a well toned body, and be able to portray someone other then themselves. hard work but hardly the stuff on which nations are built.

    • stuckinIL4now

If you wanna talk hypocrisy–aren’t all the Hollywood studios (and most of the TV networks) just big liberal corporations anyway? So they have first-hand knowledge of the evil, corrupt and anti-social corporate America they’re portraying–their crapola movies are just long video selfies.

    • Damien Johnson

Because it’s about programming the people with “rich is bad, poor is noble.”… therefore the regular people, so influenced by the media, stay perpetually destitute and subservient to the very people that placed them in this victim state.

    • native son

Speaking of the Hollywood hypocritical; they talk about the evils of guns and violence, yet about 90% of all movies out in the theaters are infested with guns and brutal murder!

Especially since Fathers in general have taken a beating in our society. Yet, I refuse to give up. This Reality TV project is more important, and The Marine Corps taught me to never surrender.

May G-d bless you as well and thanks!

  • therealguyfaux

Pauline Kael, the film critic, with her famous quote “I don’t know anyone who voted for [Nixon]” is most instructive here. And no, she wasn’t puzzled as to how it happened– that’s the urban legend part of the story– her point was that there must be millions of people out there who voted for Nixon, but that she, in her circle of friends, was not likely to meet anyone who would say so if they had voted for him. It would have been most unlikely to begin with if she had had any friends who actually did vote for Nixon, but there you are, yet again.

Bring James Woods before a Congressional committee– make him “name names”– “You are not now, nor have you ever been, a Hollywood Leftie?” Then we’ll know whose projects to support!
