Sen. John Cornyn calls charge of systematic voting discrimination ‘complete B.S.’

Florida might be the centerpiece of the Left’s effort to foment racial division in the United States, but Texas isn’t getting off easy. Attorney General Eric Holder this week singled out Texas for legal action to essentially reverse the Supreme Court’s striking down of parts of the Voting Rights Act, prompting “The Five” host Bob Beckel to suggest that Texas elections are routinely rigged by racist sheriffs.

Even a seemingly innocent movie review is fair game for trolling. When Texas Sen. John Cornyn tweeted tonight that the Jackie Robinson biopic “42” was a reminder of just how far the nation had progressed since the 1940s, Priorities USA co-founder Bill Burton made one giant leap.

The word “BS” from a sitting senator is shocking? Are you aware of the existence of a vice president named Joe Biden who says … things?

Efforts by the New Black Panthers to intimidate voters in Philadelphia should have been prosecuted a long time ago as well, but Holder has proved to be selective about whom he singles out for prosecution.

  • Clayton Grant

Bill Burton proves yet again that he is a dipchit.

    • MissDiane47

What else should we expect from a crybaby like Bill Burton …

    • Jeremy

He is an arrogant ass like his buddy Obama

These FLEEBAGGING LlBT@RDS will learn real quick that anyone in this day & age who doesn’t have a Photo ID is either trying to stay off the radar or is in trouble with the law & should NOT be voting anyway !!!! You need Photo ID today to cash a check, bring something back to the store, rent a car, & the most IRONIC of all, you need Photo ID to get into any government building !!!!

The FLEEBAGGERS aren’t worried about minorities right to vote, the FLEEBAGGERS are worried they will never be elected again because the one thing that Photo ID eliminates is VOTER FRAUD, without it FLEEBAGGERS will become extinct !!!!! This will be because before you can vote you have to prove who you are with Photo ID, I bet the 2008 & 2012 election would have turned out real different with Photo ID !!!! President BOBO would have NEVER won in 2008 0r 2012 if he didn’t get ILLLEGAL IMMIGRANT VOTES, dead peoples votes, criminals voting, etc. & the FLEEBAGGERS KNOW IT !!!!

This is why FLEEBAGGERS don’t want Photo ID, they just hide behind the voter surpession BS while the LEGAL voters vote are the one that get discounted because someone voted using voter fraud & canceled legal votes out, THAT RIGHT THERE IS VOTER SUPRESSION TO THE LEGAL VOTER !!!!!!!

  • Ben Bollman

Bill Burton spelled ‘Buffoon’ wrong in his profile.

  • missyree68

Democrats are the ones that are the cheaters at voting. What about the new black panthers carrying batons and not letting people in to vote that the attorney general to this day has done nothing about. if ever there were a time that was more threatening to people who were wanting and trying to vote, I have not heard of it, but that was against Republicans.

    • ObamaFail

Multiple cases have been reported of OBama supporters being charged with voter fraud. Let’s not forget that Obama only got on the ballot in 2008 through fraud. Two Dems were convicted earlier this year for it.

    • KhadijahMuhammad

The problem is not Black Panthers with batons. The problem is without Voter ID, Dim operatives can run vans through minority neighborhoods, take them to the polls, and swap them a free lunch for voting like they’re supposed to.

The best fix for this, actually, is not picture ID — it’s closing registration 30 days (or even one) prior to voting.

      • Billie Slash

Good points, and that’s what this is all about.

Holder and his minions are outraged that they can’t perpetrate voter fraud now. I’m no conspiracy theorist, but I honestly believe that Obama won in 2012 through voter fraud. This is just another straw-man argument, like racism in the GZ case, that has no basis in fact. And we Texans plan to fight it all the way.

        • KhadijahMuhammad

Well, I’m Texan too, and right there with ‘ya. I have full faith and confidence in Greg Abbott.

Personally, I’m not ready to believe that Dim voter fraud amounted to a 1.5% swing in ten different states, which is what it would have taken to put Romney in the White House. It’s certainly possible, though, since this sort of behavior has been going on for a couple of decades, and the Dims have gotten real good at it, I suspect.

Whenever a Dim starts screaming about Voter ID and discrimination, I simply point out two things:

          1) The SCOTUS has ruled that Voter ID is not discriminatory.

          2) What we call “Voter ID” is the law of the land in almost every other country in the world that holds elections. The international observers that came in 2012 expressed shock, referring to our voting laws as “almost an honor system.”

That quote, of course, was not heavily reported in the media. The international observers were supposed to notice how minorities were discriminated against, not to comment on our tradition of “open elections.”

          • Billie Slash

Agreed. And to your #2 point, did you realize that IL and DE have voter ID laws? Yep, Obama’s & Biden’s home states. But because they’re “blue”, they get a pass.

  • Angie

Bet that hypocrite “natthedem” didn’t clutch his pearls when Obama called Romney a “bullshitter” in that Rolling Stone interview.

Also, referring to anyone as a “constitutional attorney” shows what an ignorant hack Burton is — there is no such thing as a constitutional attorney. Many areas of law involve the constitution — such as criminal defense (4th, 5th, 6th & 8th amendment, for example); civil rights attorneys usually are dealing with the 14th (“civil rights) and 15th (right to vote) amendments — those 2 amendments are not the *entire* constitution so calling a civil rights attorney a “constitutional attorney” *is* BS. Furthermore, Coryn is a former TX Supreme Court judge and AG, which means he dealt with a wide array of legal matters both criminal and civil and not necessarily dealing with the US Constitution.

    • Billie Slash

I think Bill Burton sold washing machines at Sears before he joined Obama’s liars lair.

      • GaryTheBrave

Are you calling the salespeople at Sears liars? /sarc

      • SkyePuppy

I’m with Gary. No need to slander the Sears salespeople. Burton obviously came from that fine law partnership: Dewey, Cheatem, and Howe.

        • Billie Slash

          LOL! Good one!

      • Angie

Sears salesmen are smarter, friendly and have way more class than Burton. Used car salesman at some seedy fly-by-night lot is more Burton’s speed.

  • midwestconservative

So Bill Burton is a constitutionally illiterate constitutional attorney?

  • CHHR

First of all, Holder wouldn’t go out on this limb unless he’s already bought and paid for a judge… Judges in Texas are elected by the way. Remember, Jarrett, right after the 2012 election, said they had two judges waiting in the wings.

Second, follow the money. The Soros funded Tides Foundation is behind this move… The Advocacy Fund’s lobbying efforts showed a very low $10,332 in the first quarter of 2013 and then suddenly jumped to $2.1 Million in the second quarter on…”comprehensive immigration reform.”

What’s the best way to “providing a legal and fiscal home to those advocating for social change” and offer clients “quick mobilization and efficient management” to pursue their causes? Simple, erode the system that provides checks and balances… starting with open voting especially for elected justices in a state that has proven to be a thorn in your side.

Oh yea, they’re a 501(c)(4)… so the donor list is not disclosed… BUT all you have to do is look at their website to note the group is closely associated with the liberal Tides Foundation, sharing similar board members and the same addresses. They especially pushed for preventing changes to Social Security & authorization of the KeystoneXL pipeline.

Finally the thorny third: According to RNC sources frustrated with the race-based effort, paid RNC consultant Tom Hofeller ([email protected]) is spending RNC donations to develop race-based criteria to grab Texas and other states and place them back into federal receivership. The sources tell Tatler that nearly all of the members of the actual committee have been kept in the dark about this effort, and no mention is ever made in RNC fundraising efforts — for good reason, because GOP donors would be furious.

Hofeller, a long-time RNC consultant on redistricting, has devised ways to force several states back into federal receivership by amending the Voting Rights Act to grab states and force them to obtain Washington, D.C. approval. He is hopeful that Congressional Republicans will use his RNC-generated ideas to accomplish this goal.

  • ObamaFail

BS is a bad thing? But the libs wet themselves with excitement when Biden said, “This is a big f***ing deal!!”

  • Jeremy
  • KhadijahMuhammad

Preclearance is dead. That’s now the law of the land. Whether or not Texas practices discrimination in districting is irrelevant to the law.

  • freddy

It’s just a diversion t get illegals by the millions to the voting booth. It’s not good intentions it’s Alinsky tactics.

    • Adela Wagner

Agree. Even if you know you can’t WIN IT, delay, divert, cause chaos, wag the dog….Holder not in it to win anything except a delay in implementation. Wants
to hold it up so they can get through the 2014 elections w/no

  • Mark81150

    What’s Holder doing?

It’s two fold, punishing a red state for being red..

and trying to change the rules to enable more democrat voting fraud..

The democrats have made cheating in elections their first priority, in a close election, even low level fraud can tip it their way, and they know it.

  • Shawn Fifield

I can not see how ALL states are not required to get ok from the masters in Washington. either all states or no states, to assume voters are only screwed over are in “RED” southern states is stupid. Check out rural areas of blue states, I wonder if many there are disenfranchised?

  • richie449

It makes so much more sense to me today than when I was in college….why politicians and political pundits were tar and feathered in the 1700’s. OMG, a Senator said BS….if you were to ask our idiot VP he would say that is a really big f’ing deal….on camera with a hot mic.

  • Defend Liberty Philly Dude

David Hume noted our inherent moral standards when he observed that “the rules of our morality are not the conclusions of our reason”.

Liberals are so stupid. They make something as simple as getting an ID (which Texas will pay for and give the citizen for free) seem as complicated as the mathematical equation for travel to Titan,Saturn’s cloudy moon.Liberal Parasites don’t work or contribute to society. If anyone can waste a day or two at the DMV,liberals can.Get in Line Clown Ass Liberals.

VRA was passed to protect voting rights AGAINST Democrats, now used by Democrats for partisan gerrymandering
