Golfer Phil Mickelson wins British Open; will he pay 60 percent tax rate on winnings?

Professional golfer Phil Mickelson won the British Open, one of golf’s four major championships, for the first time Sunday. Given that he lives in California, some are speculating that his tax rate could exceed 60 percent.

Regardless of exactly what the number is, it looks like it will be outrageously high.

Punishing those who achieve is just the way the liberals who run California want it.

Obama needs it to pay for his ten car motorcades to the golf course.

Phil earned it, but Obama thinks it’s his.

Come on. It’s been a few weeks since the millions of dollars to Africa trip. He deserves another vacation because he had 2 press conferences in two weeks. One to campaign more for Obamacare and one to campaign for the race war. No questions at either one, since he was so exhausted! He and the “extended family” heading to the Vineyard again in a few weeks and we all know how expensive these exclusive destinations can be and someone has to pay?

I am happy for him as well.He is a great golfer and seems like a nice guy.

How much tax credit does he get if it all goes in to the Phil and Amy Mickelson Foundation. Does he still have to pay even if 100% of it goes to his 501c(3) charity foundation.

That depends on the size of the donation to the Obama Presidential Library fund.

Well, he has to be charged this else will Michelle and the kids get to their next vacation destination?

Even tapping into the one or two liberal genes that must be floating in my cerebrum SOMEWHERE, I still can’t fathom any scenario that justifies taking 60% of someone’s earnings.

That can’t be defined as anything but a punishment for success.

Why not just claim the several hundred dependents he’ll be supporting?

That winning putt. You didn’t sink that.

Still leaves him with a fairly decent day’s pay, but the fact that he’s an American Californian earning that pay in the UK means he will be double-taxed, or HIJACKED & ROBBED, TWICE. Just say YES to
