Tommy Lee, OneRepublic, John Rich slam Rolling Stone’s rock-star treatment of Tsarnaev; Jack Osbourne calls for boycott

David Draiman, lead vocalist of Disturbed, delivered an epic blue-on-blue smackdown to “ultra-liberal” Rolling Stone and the musician is far from alone in his disgust. Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee, pop band OneRepublic and country artist John Rich called out Rolling Stone’s sickening elevation of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev to rock-star status on the magazine’s latest cover.

Like MLB pitcher Brad Ziegler, Ozzy Osbourne’s son Jack is calling for a boycott of the magazine.

  • BlahBlah

I’m sure all of our good celebs will miraculously forget all about the boycott and outrage the second they are offered the next cover page. Carry on with the outrage.

    • nc

Yeah, right after they pacify readers with a girl in a skimpy bikini on the next cover.

    • Agnieszka Wilde

I would NEVER wanna be on that cover after having a killer on it!

      • Lewtheprof

I guess that kind of does sully their reputation (what’s left of it) in a rather irreparable way. I am still dismayed that it ever turned into the stupid leftist issue and lifestyle, cheerleader kind of rag it has turned into anyway. Conceptually speaking, why did it ever have to do that? What’s wrong with simply telling the stories of the people and their music? Just like MTV, in that it’s now about anything but the “music,” Rolling Stone is just barely about anything other than [pop] culture and lifestyle, and other kinds of political shit which belongs nowhere near a magazine with a name like theirs, IMO…

    • lainer51

I heard A. Baldwin is on the cover next week…

      • BlahBlah

        Hugging a gay dude?

        • tedlv

          Hugging Obama?

          • BlahBlah

I wonder if the wookie has a strap-on.

  • kssturgis62

I have never in my 51 years of living bought this magazine. I always thought of it as trash. To me it was always as bad as a Porn magazine. I never looked at it as something I wanted to read or have in my house. This just proves that over my lifetime why I never once wasted my money on it. These Leftists push this “Religion of Peace” idealism, and they got smacked.

    • Joe W.

I got ya’ beat, my friend. I’m almost 65 and I’ve never wasted my money on that rag either!!!

      • lainer51

I wash my floor with a rag, that is too good for this POS

    • John Bollen

As bad as a porn magazine?! What the hell kind of crack do you smoke?! So if you never bought this magazine, how do u know its “as bad as porn”? This all being said, I cant fathom why the hell they would put this psycho on the cover

      • Jeff Coil

Just because they didn’t “buy” it doesn’t mean they never “read” it. Ever hear of waiting rooms? Bookstands? Library’s?

        • John Bollen

So he thinks its terrible, and would never buy it. Yet he read it so much that he’s an expert on it “being as bad as porn”. Explain how that works for me.

          • kssturgis62

Read Above in my reply to Jeff, I never read it, I have never skimmed through it. I just look at the covers. Do a google search on the Covers, it is like a porn magazine.

        • kssturgis62

I have never read it. I have never skimmed through it. I don’t know what is in the magazine at any time. I just have looked at the Covers. The Covers were enough to say to me that is not something I want. I make no bones about that. I am not an “INSIDER” on this magazine. I admit that. yep when it comes to this magazine I am a headline reader. a picture to me is a thousand words.

      • Ironhawk86

You’re right. Porn should be insulted by being compared to drivel like RS.

    • milehisnk

I’d rather have the porn…at least then, you know what you’re getting.

      • Glenn R. Tankersley

Besides, porn magazines have good articles. Don’t we all read them, the articles that is?

        • Jeff Coil

          Porn mags have words?

          • Ironhawk86

Unfortunately yes. The result is about as pretty as a tax preparer office doing payday loans as a side business.

      • kssturgis62

        HAHAHAHAHAHAHA That is FUNNY !!!

    • Canadian in USA

I read Rolling Stone once in a doctor’s office. Believe me – you’re not missing much. I had this need to vomit after about two pages of reading Bush-bashing, Obama-loving articles – it was so “Obama sweet”, my teeth felt like they were rotting out of my mouth.

      • Glenn R. Tankersley

Why can one never find a “manzine” in a doctor’s office?

      • kssturgis62

I just love How I am a prude, or dancing is outlawed, or I smoke crack for saying it is like Porn. Does anyone look at the Covers of that magazine? What would have been said to me If I said they were satanic, or gruesome? Would I have been told that My God doesn’t exist. GEESH. These are the same people that will buy it the next time a Naked woman covering herself with her hands is on there.

    • Jeff McCabe

They used to have really good articles. pj o’rourke used to write for them. Of course this was 30 years ago or better.

      • Doreen Beisel

Stop reading it in the early 1990s

    • ⚔Christophuh⚔

Wow, is dancing outlawed in your hometown too?

      • kssturgis62

What is with this garbage. I never said it was banned, I just said I never bought it. I just said it looked like Porn, have you looked at the Covers of this magazine. I guess I am different. So what, I was taught to value myself and have morals. That is so different than what people are taught today. You look at the pictures on the cover of this magazine, and people will go back to buying the next time they put a Naked Woman on the cover. OOPS she covers parts with her hands. Grow Up.

        • Russty Fiedler

It kind of sucks that people feel the need to attack how you feel about the magazine, instead of giving their opinion of the story. I don’t necessarily agree with you, but I understand where you come from. I don’t even care about the politics and labels used to coin this guy, but it’s a little reprehensible that they would portray him in a glamorous fashion such as they use to promote musicians. Keep on giving your opinions, and don’t let these turds get you down.

        • John Bollen

$500 says you are the woman in that pic on your avatar, am I right?

          • kssturgis62

Yes I am the woman in my Pic on my Avatar. I am married to a true Gift from God, my husband in the Picture with me. What is your point? Are you now going to bash me for being a U of M Wolverine fan. If you are, I have season tickets, and proud of my wolverines. have at it.

    • Love of Country

It’s totally overrated on its best day …. we’re music fans and can’t stand that magazine. It must be a communist thing! (no hyperbole)

      • 1SkepticalChick

Me, too. I picked through it several times years ago, was totally disappointed in the contents. Was thinking music, but got junk.

      • Ironhawk86

Correctomundo. The only people who should hate the magazine more than conservatives are people with halfway decent taste in music.

    • 1SkepticalChick

I’ve seen it, & flipped through it, but never bought it. Too much propaganda & goofy, screwball opinions. Trash, yes, but porn? I’ve never associated it that way.

      • kssturgis62

Like I said I am going by the Covers. I have never even picked it up to read it or flip through it. I can only go by the covers.

  • lazypadawan

RS had jumped the shark ages ago but this is a new low even for them.

  • Guest

Looky looky. All the lefty musicians that openly supported Obama are now suddenly flag waving Americans??

Yeah. Ok. Little late to the party my friends. IMHO.

    • Sam Geese

Guess what…no one cares about your “HO”, son.

      • JerPan

And no one cares about yours.

      • Lewtheprof

I certainly do, and I am certain many others (who read it and agreed) do too. Most of all, I am not a “no one” and I guess that makes your statement false and seemingly baseless, originating from nothing but your apparently worthless opinion.

    • John Bollen

Spare me the chest puffing righty routine. Waving flags isnt patriotism. This cover has nothing to do with patriotism. It has to do advertising psychosis. Psychosis, like what your GOP suffers from.

      • Ironhawk86

        And you’re a retard. So that’s that.

        • John Bollen

Wow you failed already. You ran straight to the name calling

          • Ironhawk86

That’s all an idiot like you deserves. You don’t like it, you can blow me.

    • fourthletter

Obama and the Democrats ARE Americans, Republicans do not own the flag.

      • Seabass120

Then perhaps they should show it instead of trampling on The Constitution.

      • Kenny Sims

Keep drinking that Cool Aid fourthletter

      • 1NonPermissive

Democrats and RS don’t either, but they’d both spit on it.

      • bb333

Obama is NOT An American in any sense of the word…..

        Democrats are Communists(and useful idiots)

      • milehisnk

You can be an American and a Democrat, but it does seem that it was the people who so vocally supported Obama who said things like “This is the first time I’ve been proud to say I’m an American.” Even with Obama in office, I’m proud to be an American because that moron doesn’t represent me in my eyes, even the Egyptians don’t think he represents the people of America. When the Egyptians who are protesting and rioting because of their president get it but we don’t…That says something.

        • Heather_A

If I could like this post AGAIN, I would.

          • Glenn R. Tankersley

Well, if we all like your post, we’ll have all liked the one you responded to twice!

      • Sandy Major

Obama is NOT an American, he a liar, a cheat and a thief, he is a traitor to the American people, he is murderer, he is muslim, he is the worst president in history, he is a very bad man and he has very big ears!

        • TShell

How about you educate yourselves a little before you spew this filth. Seriously. You want to talk about failed economic policy? It’s the Republicans’ heralded “Reaganomics” that have turned this country into complete crap economically.
I’m not even going to address the Obama comments. That’s just plain ignorance.
BTW, I have a Masters in American Studies, I’m a Democrat and I’ve never burned a flag, celebrated flag burning or lied about this country. Unlike 99% of you posting on here, I took time to educate myself about this country so I could create a truly informed opinion and not the absolute trash you hear on Fox News.
You all should be ashamed of yourselves. Go read a book already! And not some liberal bashing libel. Some real, historical books.

Oh and finally, this is about the Boston bomber, not Obama. So take your trite, outdated rhetoric and go to your ignorant conservative message boards where anybody actually gives a crap about what you have to say.

          • Ryan Whiteside

I have a masters in Business and I have probably read more books than you. It doesn’t change the fact that Obama isn’t an American. I was also able to discern an “education” from an indoctrination…which it seems, you were unable to do.

          • TShell

Read the requirements to become President. You have to be born in America. Do you really believe that he was able to trick the government into believing he was when he wasn’t?
And it seems as though you were indoctrinated by Fox News.

          • lainer51

Sure I believe it, just like you believe he was born here. Different strokes….

          • Glenn R. Tankersley

Well, if you’ve read at least one, that’s probably true!

          • LR

*yawn* 1/10 Way too obvious, especially throwing in the “I have a degree so I’m smart!!” line. Try harder next time.

          • Jeff Thimgan

            A) It is likely, though not entirely evident, that no one cares that you have a Masters in American Studies. Even if everyone did care, that alone does not make your opinion superior. Furthermore, I would be prone to take your assertion that you have a Masters as nothing more than the assumption that you are probably not the most educated person on the subject. A person with a Doctorates degree would likely be more educated than you were.

            B) Democrats are not the only people who read books or have informed opinions about this country.

            C) A person who believes that Reaganomics turned the economics of this country into “crap” on its own merits, is the kind of belief I would expect from a person who has a Masters in American Studies, not a Doctorates in Economics. Regardless, there are many conflicting opinions within circles of most educated people on what has caused the current state of economic climate we live in. The idea that Reaganomics most negatively influenced such climate is one theory, out of many, amongst numerous educated people. Thus, to state that Reaganomics plagues our economy as a fact belonging only to the opinions of those who are educated at a higher level, is over-reaching, if not somewhat disingenuous.

            D) There are always people who are more condescending then you. Such as; people who majored in logic :)

          • Ironhawk86

“American Studies” does sound like on of those nebulous humanities degrees that’s all touchy-feely and devoid of any hard facts or numbers.

          • TShell

            Finally, an educated burn…
            You’re a good man Jeff.

          • Kannibal Jones

            you wish

          • Norma Lucas

            AMEN TO THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!YOOO HOOO!

          • Goodyeargirl

oh yeah, I don’t give a crap about what you have to say either, It’s obvious you get your information from one source. And your liberal university degree in American studies only parrots back what your liberal professors wanted you to understand…… try looking outside of the “required’ curriculum for other sources…. I don’t expect you will change anything, but don’t make assumptions that those who dislike our current leader are uninformed… so take your “trite, outdated rhetoric and go to your ignorant” liberal message boards where someone might give a crap about what you have to say……. Nimrod………..

          • Ironhawk86

Are we supposed to be impressed by the fact you pissed away your parents money on a “Look at me. I can parrot the moronic ramblings of marxist college professor who could never get a job in the private sector to save his life.” degree that isn’t worth the paper its printed on?

        • TShell

“We are all God’s children, made in His image and each and everyone of us has a chance to spend eternity in Heaven with God but we will never make it there with such a warped view of our brothers and sisters of this earth.”

You wrote that 3 days ago then turn around and libel the President. Doesn’t that seem a little hypocritical?

Because I can guarantee you, he’s a real american, he’s never murdered anyone, is definitely NOT the worst president in history and doesn’t seem bad to me! The only thing you were spot on about is his ears.

          I think you’re… oh yeah what’s that called…….. a racist!

          • TM

There goes the race card! Let’s just keep to the point. RS did something that, I believe, was wrong and in very poor taste. I do read, I am educated, I have formed my own opinion and it is no where close to your TShell. I am a coservative christian, I don’t burn flags, I love my country and the men and women who risk and give up their lives for our country, I also think Obama is a liar, a cheat, a “Chicago Politician” (if you don’t know what that means, look it up) and you can’t prove to me he is an American. I think he IS the WORST President we have EVER had…EVER! I think he is the biggest threat to this country right now! I can honestly tell you, I am not a racist…I don’t like Barrack Obama because he’s a bad president, not because he’s black. I would go so far as to say that he and his wife, and all their cronies (Rev. Jeremiah Wright), are racist and a disgrace to the office of the President. We are all entitled to our opinions…so let it roll. As far as fair reporting and news agencies…are you saying that MSNBC, CNN and the like are unbiased? If you answer yes, that just proves where you stand regardless of the truth. I personally voted for Allan Keyes, and have every time I could…my opinion.

          • TShell

Prove to me he isn’t American. Seriously. Because I believe since you have to be American to become President, and I’m pretty sure the federal government checked that one out. So it appears as thought he burden of proof is on you.
By the way, there is more to racism than just directly hating another race. Have you ever considered his race influences your beliefs on other issues? I guess you could maybe call it subconscious racism?
Can you please give me examples of why you think he is a “Chicago Politician” (and yes, I’m very familiar with the notion you are mentioning), why you think he is the worst President off them all and why he is a threat to America?
I’m genuinely interested to hear where your basis for that opinion is coming from.

As for bias, I’m fully aware MSNBC, CNN and all of them have bias. That’s why I get my news from BBC News as well as a variety of sources from around the world. Heck, I even listen to conservative talk radio. I value hearing the other side’s opinion. That’s the only way to have an informed opinion.
Please don’t stereotype me. I am not some liberal talking head who worships Obama. I’m an informed, critically-minded American. You have no idea what my political ideology is. However, it’s hard for me to value your opinion without any basis for it. So please, let’s hear it! Give me hard evidence!

          • shimauma

you must’ve missed all those folks in kenya being interviewed that say barry hussien was born there. Or missed that speech where his wife moochelle said he was from there.
Or missed that Harvard profile that says he was from there.
            Or when HE said it.

          • TShell

Are you serious? I just went and watched those. The one with him speaking is CLEARLY edited and fake. I even watched his lips say different things when things were dubbed over it.
Answer me this, are you, or are you not aware you have to be born in the United States to run for President?
Ok, so use logic for just one second (hard, I know). If the guy during a campaign speech says he’s from Kenya, do you really think he would still be allowed to run?
Let’s fast forward to him being in office. Don’t you think Congress would have passed a motion to remove him from office?
Oh yeah, they didn’t, because they know that stuff is fake.

Seriously. Just try thinking for a second.

          • Goodyeargirl

since you have to be American to become President, and I’m pretty sure the federal government checked that one out.

I’m not pretty sure, since the only candidate vetted was McCain….. and called to question as he was born on a military base in Puerto Rico……… (not that he was a stellar candidate either)

          • Goodyeargirl

            Alan Keyes is awesome!

          • shimauma

BOOM! race card comes out when libturdians have nothing viable for an argument. But they can’t get the attention and victimizing they crave from Huffpo, so they come to a conservative website to feel like their opinion matters.

          • Glenn R. Tankersley

It’s not libel if it’s true.

          • 1SkepticalChick

A Masters in American Studies, yet you play the race card which is not saying much about your education, but says a lot about how well your indoctrination took. “How about you educate yourselves a little before you spew this filth.” The race card is old, bent, limp, wornout, and meaningless.

          • Goodyeargirl

how can you guarantee something that Obama has NEVER proven himself…. since he claimed foreign student status for free educational funds………… just sayin’

        • TShell

Oh and since when is being Muslim a bad thing? Yes, bad things have happened to have been committed by Muslims, but Christians are equally (if not more) guilty. You know, the Crusades, the Spanish Inquisition, Westboro Baptist Church. Stuff like that.
It’s ignorant to think extremists of any religion reflect the opinion of the masses.
Most Muslims I know are kind, friendly and super amazing people.

          Remember, Muslim != Terrorist.
          That’s just racism folks.

          • Jennifer Hall

You are confusing the Roman Catholic church and its political maneuvers to maintain sovereignty with the work of the true Christian church, so no, Christians in general are not more guilty than Muslims in this regard. Muslim leaders were conquering and taking over some areas that do not belong to them. Especially Israel. That Westboro group is not really a Christian church. It is a family-owned lawyers’ group usurping a a church’s status. You might not know that other Baptist groups will not recognize them as a part of the Christian family (and Baptists work and pray with many other Christian churches). And since even this vile (WBC) group hasn’t even killed anyone, lumping them in with the RCC of over a thousand years ago and the terrorist Muslim of today shows how ignorant you are of the world around you. Even you said that “it’s ignorant to think extremists of any religion reflect the opinion of the masses” and yet you compare all of Christendom to Islamic terrorists? BTW – Racism is discrimination of someone’s ethnicity, not their religious beliefs. You’re wrong again on that point as well.

          • TShell

I didn’t compare all of Christendom to Islamic terrorists. I simply pointed out that other religions have committed atrocities as well.
And by the way, I lumped them all together because of their ideologies, not their actions. So be careful not to put words in my mouth.
Also, thanks for the critique my use of the word racism. You’re right. Technically I didn’t use it correctly. However, I wasn’t aware that had anything at all to do with what anyone was talking about…

          • Jimmy

Hey Canadian guy here. The Spanish Inquisition and Crusades happened hundreds of years ago. And the point you’re arguing, Obama being born in the US is irrelevant. Fact is, he is the worst pres ever due to the fact that under his watch he’s accumulated more debt than all other prezes combined. You also stated in an earlier post that Obama is not a murderer. Tell that to the families of the people he ordered the drone strikes on. The collateral damage was huge. For a guy who claims to be so educated, you sure do sound like an idiot.

Also, the fact that muslims are doing all these bombings proves they are most terrorists. And that’s not racism, that’s fact.

          • TShell

Drone strikes for military tactical reasons that has collateral damage is not murder. Anyone here have a law degree?
Let me be clear, I’m not condoning the actions, I’m simply saying it’s not murder.

          • Glenn R. Tankersley

Islam is a religion, not a race, dimbulb.

          • Kannibal Jones

            pretty much

          • shimauma

LOLS!!! for someone with a “masters” diploma, you sure are having a hard time understanding that “muslim” isn’t a race, you jackazz, it’s a religion.

          • TShell

You are acting like a politician here. I’m asking you for CONCRETE evidence of your opinion and the only thing you’ve done is mock me and post a couple bogus youtube videos.
Quite frankly, I don’t give a crap if he’s born here or not. I’m sure there are plenty of people from other countries who would be amazing at President. That doesn’t really make an argument either way, besides maybe saying he’s a liar. But all politicians are liars, so again, that doesn’t really prove any point.
Stop the mocking. Stop the BS. Give me something real. If you can…

Oh and no piggybacking on the other guy’s drone strike comment, as you seem to just re-word other peoples’ arguments. I want to hear from YOU SHIMAUMA on why you think what you do.

Until then, you can mock me all you want, but my point that conservative Obama-haters only have empty rhetoric and ridiculous notions will remain true.

As for Jimmy and as for the drone stuff, are you really going to tell me that during GW Bush’s term when we went to war that the military didn’t kill ONE innocent civilian? Child please…

          • shimauma

“I’m asking you for CONCRETE evidence of your opinion” LOLS! not sure how I can give concrete evidence of an *opinion*, but it probably will be just as valid as your supposed “masters degree” making you less of a lefturdian babbler.

          • Goodyeargirl

Little Westboro Baptist Church……….. lol yep, they have caused mayhem all over America with their little placards….. lol hardly up to the national circulation of Rolling Stone….. Spanish Inquistion………… these are all tired, dated arguments
What about the murder on innocents at Waco, Ruby Ridge, etc……… government sanctioned murder……….

            I don’t believe Muslim is a race……

          • Ironhawk86

Wow. Sounds like there wasn’t much theology or history in your “American Studies” degree. If there were you might know what Islam actually teaches and who started the Crusades. And the guy who started Westboro, for all the historical relevance you idiotically ascribe to him, is a DEMOCRAT you ignorant turd.

        • Glenn R. Tankersley

Why don’t you say what you REALLY think? (wink, wink, nudge, nudge)

        • RangerJeff

“he is the worst president in history”

Well that’s great news for Buchanan isn’t it

        • Steve Allen

wow…it is interesting how people go from talking about how the Rolling Stone made a bad decision to politics? that is the worst topic transition I have ever seen and the content is the most idiotic rant I have ever seen. I think ALL politicians are full of crap and are liars and thieves. it really doesn’t matter if they are republican or democrat. let’s get back to the rolling stone here on how they put a murderer and terrorist on the cover.

      • truckee22

The repubs have more flags because we dont routinely burn ours.

      • shimauma

you must’ve missed all those folks in kenya being interviewed that say barry hussien was born there. Or missed that speech where his wife moochelle said he was from there. Or missed that Columbian University profile that says he was from there.

        • TShell

The fact that you called Michelle Obama “moochelle” twice tells me everything I need to know about you.

        • TShell

Oh and you still haven’t told me anything as to why he’s a bad President, bad for our country or anything except claim he’s not from America based on some crappily edited youtube videos.
Typical radical conservative. All talk but no real substance to your argument.
I’m outta here. I tried to have a real discussion on politics, but it’s evident I was thinking too highly of you.
          Good luck to you.

          • shimauma

TShell says, “WAAAAAAH. You mean ol conservatives won’t appreciate my opinion!!!”
You silly libturds are so far up barry hussien’s backside you only see daylight whenever he yawns.

          • TShell

            Thanks for proving my point.
            Good day.

            I said good day!

      • Fiala

Republicans may not own the flag but they don’t step on it or burn it either.

        • TShell

          Neither do Democrats.

          • Corey Dennison

Been paying attention to the “We love Trayvon riots?”

            Or maybe the OWS rallies?

      • Corey Dennison

Wrong…the left is only patriotic when they are in power.

      • Ironhawk86

Funny. They aren’t the ones paying into the system.

    • TocksNedlog

    • Robert Balis Lucarelli

lets not make this a left right issue

    • milehisnk

It’s never too late to be patriotic and stand up for what’s right and against what’s wrong.

  • Damien Johnson

I thought Rolling Stone was about MUSIC?

    • Maxwell

They are… the same way Music Television, or MTV, is.

      • Damien Johnson

I see. well I’ve never watched or read either. Well, there was that time spider-man had a show on MTV when I was a kid. After that ended I went back to not watching MTV.

      • 1NonPermissive

Yeah, twelve year olds having babies.

      • IBXNJ

MTV now stands for” Maternity Television”…

    • grais

I think it always had political content. Hunter S Thompson wrote for them in the ’70s.
IslamicTerrorist content seems to be brand new, though.

      • Damien Johnson

I just figured they usually put music at the front.

  • rm1evo

A big FU to Rolling Stone…..

  • © Sponge

And a ray of light peaks it’s way into the abyss of liberal darkness.

    • Sam Geese

“Liberal darkness”…now THAT’s hilarious. You check out what your boys have been up to the last 30+ years, dude? Save it, son.

      • Corey Dennison

If you’d been paying attention to the left since the early 20th century, you’d see that Sponge is on the money.

        • Sam Geese

I suggest you stick to the last 50 years or so. Since anything beyond that has little to do with the way things are now.

  • NRPax

I take comfort in finally seeing proof that folks on the left do have some limits.

    • TocksNedlog

Well, they do . . . in the sense of “Dude, you’re making us look like whack jobs; chill it!”

      • NRPax

Hey, it has to start somewhere.

      • Damien Johnson

Like how the UK Church of Satan made it clear they didn’t endorse the “Hail Satan” chants in Texas over abortion “Rights.”

        • NRPax

Were you about as stunned by that as I was?

          • Bathing Suit Area

The people “chanting” were treating Satan as a joke. Worshippers don’t like it when you mock their gods or whatever they consider him to be.

          • truckee22

It was so funny the way they tried to bring jars of feces and urine into the Capitol building. Hahaha, get it, it’s a joke.

          • wwbdinct

Says the worshipper who prays at the altar of Obama! We all know how much you hate seeing him mocked!

          • Corey Dennison

Damn…that’s some mighty impressive spin you got going there, son.

          • Damien Johnson

you better believe I was. If Satanists think you’re messed up, something MUST be wrong.

  • Stone Bryson

Really? Leftists? You might want to check your facts, folks. Tommy Lee has never to my knowledge been political, while neither of the Osbourne kids have demonstrated progressive tendencies. Don’t know much about One Republic, but I know for a FACT John Rich is a dyed-in-wool conservative.

When we blanket-judge we commit the same sin as progressives. It’s something we should really avoid – humble opinion, natch.

    • Stephen L. Hall

You’re right, I believe a lot of musicians are disgusted by the political partisanship that has overwhelmed the music business. It is one thing to advocate a cause, quite another for seemingly a whole industry to advocate a political party.

      • Stone Bryson

Very true. I would even wager that more of them are politically neutral and/or libertarian than hard-core progressive (rappers and Katy Perry notwithstanding). No hard facts on this, just judging from the lyrics many bands write.

    • fourthletter

Why would you not want to be part for progress?

      • Stone Bryson

LOL show me the ‘progress’ in being politically progressive and we can have a rational conversation. Go ahead – I’ll wait…

      • grais

        Define “progress”

      • Seabass120

        Progressivism = Totalitarianism

        • Bathing Suit Area

          Equals sign != actual argument

          • Bristel

Therefore your own argument is false. 😉 Sorry, troll, you lost by your own rules.

      • 1NonPermissive

Everyone disagrees on just what progress is, just because a group puts it in their name, doesn’t mean progress comes about.

      • WSPISFA

Ask a patient with cancer or a neurological disease how good “progressive” is…
…and “progressively Communist” is nothing to brag about…

      • Corey Dennison

There’s a difference between ‘progress’ and the left wing ideology called “Progressivism.”

        You should look it up.

      • Ironhawk86

Only a fascist thinks government theft is progress

    • Bemani Dog

Twitchy didn’t say anything about any of them being leftists except for Draiman, who admitted as much.

      • Stone Bryson

Was referring to the comments, not Twitchy’s post. Sorry for the confusion…

    • Dencal26

Tommy Lee was certainly an Obama supporter who bashed Romney often

      • Stone Bryson

K, I’ll give you Lee – I really had to dig to find some stuff, but yeah, it’s there. I did say, ‘to my knowledge’ in my post, after all. :-)

  • Michael K Smith

I always dreamed of being on the cover of The Rolling Stone…..Not anymore…speachless & disgusted…I agree…BOYCOTT BOYCOTT BOYCOTT

  • Sam Geese

So, none of ya actually READ the words under this kids picture, huh? Too busy with your righteous indignation, huh? It’s fine to put (and BE) heroin addicts and jerk-off music biz “people” on the cover…but a kid’s story is too far for ya, huh?
Might wanna rethink that #pathetic stuff next time y’all look in the mirror (or talk to your mother, Jack&Kelly).

    • Corey Dennison

How’s the air up there on your high-horse?

    • Ironhawk86

Maybe you and Jahar should just have buttsex and be done with it already.

  • Stacie VanDruff

Political or not, He is far from a rock star. He is a terrorist, and obviously Rolling Stone does not recognize this… Shame on you, Rolling Stone.

  • Bettyjane Gazzillo

Done with Rolling Stone!!!!!! Shame on you……Jane Roberts

  • Vernon Lyons

I’ve been an avid reader of Rolling Stone for many years and now with this pathetic plea of desperation for their need to stir up controversy….I’m done! All music artists need to stand up and say something regarding this S#!T!!!

  • eeddggy

Rolling Stone is as relevant as todays Rolling Stones.

    • 1NonPermissive

Old, wrinkly, and assuming room temperature, on the way to hell, soon.

    • IBXNJ

I remember in 1970 when they had Charles Manson on the cover…..

  • DWdrummer

Oh but RS will say something to the effect of, “While we here at RS understand the outcry of our decision of putting ZHERGGSBK JDIHDIHENS on the cover, we also have always been proud of our track record of fanning the flames of public discord, being on the front lines of political haughtiness, promoting our own agenda, and generally being an all out negative influence on anything that isn’t “fringe-worthy.” If you’re not on the fringe of society we don’t like your music, your politics or your face.” Signed,
Please see enclosed picture of staff with our collective heads up our asses.

    • 1NonPermissive

The mags a joke, legends in their own self important filth.

    • UtMadman

      Excellent take on them.

  • MaddMedic
  • This dude

Um…….there are a great many holes in the story that he was actually the bomber….

  • right_on

    (With apologies to Kansas)

“Once they rose above the noise and confusion

Just to get a glimpse beyond the illusion

They were soaring ever higher, but they flew too high

Though their eyes could see he was a bad man

Though their mind couldn’t think he was a mad man

They hear the voices when they’re screaming, they can hear them say

    Carry water for his treason,

For there’ll be justice when you are gone

Masquerading as a man with a reason

His charade is the event of the season

And he claims to be a wise man, it surely means that you don’t know

On a stormy sea of moving emotion

Tossed about like a ship on the ocean

You set a course for winds of fortune, now hear our voices say.”

Carry on for your own reasons
You deserve to fail for those reasons.

    • UtMadman

Whoa, was this song written about someone we know?

  • bb333

    Welcome to liberal HELL……

  • Gaetano

Surprised really. This magazine jumped the shark many years ago.

  • $8203344

Good for them. They should be offended… Lets see how his boycott works out. Rolling Stone shifted to a Liberal, Leftist rag in the 80’s. It slowly got worse but in the last 10 years its just been a Lib brainwashing for young people.

    • Krunchy

Rolling Stone was covering John Lennon and Yoko Ono talking against Vietnam and politics of the time within the first few issues. They’ve always been pretty political. Hell, Hunter S. Thompson was all over the magazine in the 1970’s, and lest we forget, Rolling Stone had a cover article covering Charles Manson in 1970. I would consider that they never did shift, but started out, and continue to skew, towards a leftist slant.

      • $8203344

Yeah, I’d agree with you. I’m of the age that I started reading RS in the 80’s, Thompson was still writing for them then on occasion. I just feel while they covered politics they weren’t as biased as they are now. I stopped subscribing in the early 90’s due to the slant. When I picked one up and started reading 5 yrs ago I was shocked, it was the Nation with music.

        • Doreen Beisel

So funny but in the 1980s I read Rolling Stone weekly and supported Greenpeace so sad both their agencies have been hijacked by Wingnut Marxists

          • $8203344

I remember big Greenpeace articles in RS back then. Frankly, even though I was actually into politics, I rarely read the political articles, and most kids and 20’s something’s don’t either.

  • Indynana

They forgot to photoshop a white hoodie onto him…..make him even more acceptable,

  • Appelso

I think these Hollywood / singers just say stupid stuff like this to get publicity. But, someone should tell them it is not worth selling their souls over. I personally could care less what any of them says or thinks.

  • Simone Lynch

O.K. all you disgusted musicians, celebrities, and the “like” – put your integrity, fame and money where you mouth is . . . are you disgusted with Rolling Stone just for “today” or is this REALLY a deal breaker?

  • Janet Silverstein

I would love to see the Boston born bands, old and still going, and their outcry? Come on Aerosmith, New Kids on the Block members, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, James Taylor. (maybe Neil Diamond, know he is a Brooklyn guy, but his song has been played at Fenway since the 90s), etc, etc.

    • Doug Williams

      And Tom Scholz & Boston

  • worldscam

Only people like Stevie Wonder read Rolling Stone. Blind people and idiots.

  • LinTaylor

I might not agree with a lot of the things current musicians say politically, but comparing them to that murdering jagoff is a slap in the face and they all need to tell Rolling Stone to throw itself off a cliff.

  • dave pilot

The best part of this is that It’s still a free country ? The Bill of Rights says that Rolling Stone can put whoever they want on the cover…..For that I am grateful ! I just wont buy it and that my friends is my right to choose !

  • reving19

    Rolling Stone doesn’t care.

  • Mary Collin

Not into politics but surely this is not a good thing to do. I agree with @mrJackO – put pic’s of the victims on the cover, not a bomber. #badtaste Rolling Stone.

  • Obama_dogeater

Rolling Stone is an irrelevant rag not fit for my dog’s turds.

  • James N Donna Thomas

Maybe some who are outraged here will now, finally begin to take a closer look at what passes for mainstream media in America.

  • TJ

One man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter and in a few years if not already someone who is a rebel against the “man” will have a stylized Tsar shirt that takes the place of their Che shirt and their Trayvon shirt.

    • RememberSekhmet

I need a barf bag just thinking about it

  • joanstevenson55

Don’t buy that magazine anyway…but think this is PATHETIC, to put his killer mug on the cover! Totally insensitive to those that lost their loved ones, and were maimed for life as a result!

  • Bathing Suit Area

Since when do we care what a bunch of celebrities think? Shut up and sing!

    • RememberSekhmet

They are commenting on what to them is a trade publication. They aren’t talking about the cover of Mad Magazine or the New York Post. Rolling Stone *is* an appropriate thing on which *musicians* can comment.

      • Corey Dennison

Don’t try explaining it to him…it will only hurt his little brain and he won’t learn anyway.

  • UtMadman

Good for these people for voicing their opinions. It’s time some of them see the reality of their liberal media, and the crazy positions and people they support.

  • jose

There is a divide in this country and its growing fast. Chose carefully the side u align with becuase they will be your comrades and who will have your back when it hits the fan and its hitting it now

  • Grandma HeadInjury
  • des111168

Now it’s all designed, to terrorize

but Boston won’t really be blownnnnn,

Like the blow that’ll getcha when I get my picture on the cover of the Rollin’ Stone!

  • billeeblue

Mag is just a rag. Hey, I’m a poet. But also disgusted with the photo. I went on their FB page and gave them a bit of hell. Everyone also needs to bog down their page and website.

  • RedSoloCup

The publishers of RS should be charged with enabling terrorism.

  • BeckoningCat

I’m now a bigger fan of One Republic and the Osbournes. Thank you for standing up to stupidity.

  • Angie

LIVs who think they are “liberal” based on the *surface* of 2 issues alone (abortion & SSM) are shocked to discover what they are *really* supporting. Maybe this will wake them up, but I doubt it — TPTB on the left will start screaming that the right wants women barefoot & pregnant & they’ll go back to supporting the lefty agenda.

Rolling Stone, You are some sick, rotten son of a BITCHES!

  • Cordstreet

Jack Osbourne, I’m way ahead of you. I’ve never bought a Rolling Stone magazine and I’ve been around longer than it has.

    • stuckinIL4now

      Ditto for me.

  • curry

fuck rolling stone ,,i bet i never buy another 1

Rolling Stone, You can kiss your asses good by.

  • Bill Joe

WTF…..I am from India and I find this appeasement BS disgusting.Same thing’s happening in my country as well ,Islamic jihadi terrorists being branded ‘innocent’ by crooked leftists(communists).PATHETIC.

  • Bruce Milnikel

What the hell is rolling stone thinking.I for one will never buy it again.Apologize for your blatant disregard for compasion and justice.your paper used to be entertaining but now is just another political rag! Shame on you.

  • el_polacko

good for these celebrities for speaking up against this disgusting cover. cvs has led the way and now every magazine seller should also refuse to put this issue on their stand.

  • Lisa Renee’ Jones

Only way to hit these jughugs is in their pockets!~!

  • T13

I just looked at past covers and their has been far worse people on it and no one got excited over it.

  • Jarrod A Smith

Absolutely terrible decision. Maybe they thought he had a cool look like the great Jim morrison!

  • FlatFoot

  • Jack Deth

I thought Rolling Stone sold out decades ago. Last century. When they went from a newspaper to a magazine format.

If I remember correctly. Joan Micklin Silver even wrote and directed a neat little film about it called ‘Between the Lines’.

  • HoneyTree EvilEye

Surprised these people are so upset over this. That’s Obama’s brethren. Don’t they realize he’s innocent until proven guilty like the Fort Hood shooter(sarcasm). And he was only joining the fight against the evil American capitalists who are war mongering in the lands of Islam and supporting the evil Israel(more sarcasm).

  • jtak101

Actually, this is good…when left unchained, liberals have a habit of taking their liberalism to mental illness status….that eventually get’s the attention of even the slow ones in society.

  • Not Anonymous

People, you know we are in some dire straights when Tommy Lee is the voice of reason.

  • Bob Colefall

This is like the Nobel Peace Prize being awarded to a terrorist like Yasser Arifat! Oh wait. That already happened.

  • ELC

Rolling Stone magazine must be losing it altogether if they think putting a terrorist on their cover will generate business. On the contrary it will do the total opposite. How sad when a magazine glorifies someone who goes out and kills innocent people and they think honoring this person with his picture on the cover makes sense?People should boycott this magazine…maybe losing subscribers would knock sense into them, but then again I think not.

    • TShell

Are you aware that Time magazine had Hitler on the cover?

      • John Thomas “Jack” Ward III

        “Man of the year”, 1939-the year he invaded Poland… Plus, they’ve had Vlad Lennin, Joseph Stalin, and Mao Tse-Tung on the cover… Luckily, I don’t read it too often… Jawamax 8<{D}

    • John Thomas “Jack” Ward III

      I don’t think their sales will recover, even if they put Justin Bieber on the cover next month! Jawamax 8<{D}

  • Heather_A

Street liberals v. Liberal elite. . .always fun to watch.

  • Daune Sutherland

Boston bombing was a false flag!!

    • Bristel

      No. Just no.

      Seek help dude… no really!

  • Jake Midkiff

I think I’ve bought copies in my life when Van Halen’s been on the cover and that’s been about it. Everything else I’ve seen from it has been ultra-liberal crap. No thanks.

  • ⚔Christophuh⚔

Dr Hook is rolling in his grave right now.

  • HealthyAmerican

I left this at the message boards at Rolling Stone:

I seem to be missing some back issues. When did the Adam
Lanza cover come out? Did Matt Tiabi write the cover article about how
the System in Connecticut failed him and he turned into a monster? Also I’m apparently missing the issue from a couple years
back with Nidal Hassan on the cover and the photo shoot of him on the
tanks at Fort Hood. Can you send that one to me? I want to read about
Reitman’s sympathies for a man who gunned down thirteen Americans while
in uniform. That cover must look FABULOUS by the
way. So yeah, if you could dig those up, maybe have the Boston Terrorist
autograph this copy for me, since you guys are no longer a magazine
about rock music and what drives musical culture, it seems like you got
time… Oh and if you happen to have that
old issue with the Virginia Tech Killer on the cover let me know, I
think I loaned it to my roommate and he moved out. Plus the Charles Manson cover. Classic. Really looking
forward to next month’s issue with Zimmerman on the cover…can’t wait
to hear Tiabbi tell us all about how he was misunderstood the whole

(Note: for those crying ‘foul’ about the use of Zimmerman, sometimes the most effective weapon is using their own against them…it’s the only way they’ll get the point).
    Keep on rockin’…

    • stuckinIL4now

It depends on which side RS wants to outrage–they could put Trayvon Martin on the cover …

  • Joe W…

I am a rock n roll fanatic and its part of my make up but I WILL NEVER BUY ROLLING STONE because of now 2 reasons…first and foremost this glorifying of terrorist and the 2nd is because of the band KISS….This mag has been and will be nothing better than something to wipe your ass with if you are out of TP!!!!

  • Batman

I wonder how musicians feel now that they have shared the front cover with a terrorist. I mean, what is Rolling Stone magazine saying about…them? What an insult. Who is the individual or group of individuals responsible for this decision at Rolling Stone? Let’s see if they have the balls to publicize that information.

  • Christopher Salazar

Well, at least they are not keeping quite. Someone has to police their own.

  • John Trapp

Just another example of how incredibly f*&ked up Democrats are today.

  • Chuck L

Rolling Stone has every right to put whomever they want on their cover, and we have every right not to buy it!

  • feduppianoman

I’m assuming on the cover of the next issue we are going to see, “Jugdish the hunky heart eating syrian rebel”?

  • greatgrandmasue

Just wait for a copycat to be their next cover photo then sue the hell out of these damn worthless, vile pinheads.

  • Guest

What a bunch of MORONS. RS is one of THE BEST magazines for hard hitting journalism. The brought down McCrystal for Gods sake.

  • JerPan

These people are absolute MORONS. Rolling Stone is one of THE BEST hard hitting journalistic magazines. They brought down McCrystal for Gods sake.

    • Corey Dennison

You would’ve been better off keeping this post anonymous as “Guest” below.

It’s a damn music magazine, ffs.

      • JerPan

Not anymore you stupid moron. It’s obvious you don’t read it. It is above your mental capacity.

        • Secede

How old are you- 12 ?

          • JerPan

If I was, I would still be 7 years older than you.

          • Secede

So you are saying you are not 12 yet ?

        • John Thomas “Jack” Ward III

The last issue of RS I bought was Billy Joel on the cover (February 1982?) , which included his mantra, “Don’t take any $#!+ form anyone!”
          Never again, Rolling Stone…. Jawamax 8<{D}

  • Mick_Pearson

I hope I never see Charlie Manson on the cover.

    • Canadian in USA

Please don’t give them any ideas. 😛

  • RangerJeff

At first glance I thought that was Jim Morrison or something, couldn’t believe my eyes when I look again. Bad move, Rolling Stone. Though I will say it’s kinda nice to see the left and right coming together in condemning this 😛

  • Mike in Virginia

A true liberal magazine would celebrate one who hates the United States so what’s the big deal?

  • Shawn Lainson

after 24 years, I cancelled my subscription

  • Indynana

If obammy had a son he would look and act like this !

  • John Sprankle

maybe all of the musicians should refuse to be on the cover or even in the magazine from now on!

  • Gregg Smitherman

Bad publicity still sells magazines. Think about it. In an age where the internet is taking over and print advertising will be no longer, they are attempting to save their asses so they don’t have to file for bankruptcy. Bad publicity is all free publicity, right?

  • Danny Wheeler

Man… way to get negative press, Rolling Stone.

  • AmericanMom

Rolling Stone is an outdated magazine clearly grabbing at whatever it can to bring relevance back to it. They chose a suicidal vehicle and I hope it wrecks them.

  • Frustrated Teacher

Rolling Stone…from rolling towards obscurity to rolling into the trash can.

  • cronos w. spoiler

Someone at Rolling Stone either was High or used Poor judgement putting this Piece of Shit on it`s cover.Have never read Rolling Stone or bought one after seeing this I now know Why!!!!!!!!!.

  • Maliheh Banoo

this is one topic i can agree with conservatives on ,we should not be advertizing terrorist on the rolling stone.

    • HWarrior13

If you are reasonable about this issue, I just bet you could find more than “one topic” you can agree with Conservatives on.
I’m a Libertarian and find common ground with both sides all the time…and

I get a lot of hateful comments also, mostly from the left I’m afraid to report.

Though i’m outraged it’s nothing new with them, they once had Charles Manson on the cover during his original trial.

  • Izzy Brandon

And Charles Manson on the cover in 1970 was so much better>?

    • Rocky Racoon

Who supported the Charles Manson cover? There was huge outrage over that cover as well when it came out.

  • TXKracker

The rs magazine only good for lining the bird cage, cat litter box, or a just maybe if in the woods and not TP available or in reach to wipe your arse.

They did it because they could- short memory-forgiving sheep well quickly buy the next one… how else well they know what to think – they probably think that this well boost their subscriptions – publicity even bad is priceless to them – what victims- outta sight outta mind-

A lot of this rage is contingent on the belief that Rolling Stones was a respectable publication to begin with. It hasn’t been that for many, many years. Frequently, it ignores objective pursuits of facts on social issues; instead turning to the most drug-fried celebs it can find that know nothing except what their communist lowlife connections (mis)inform them, then publish their vulgarity-laden opinions as if it were expert advice.

This means RS has been a hotbed of know-nothing guttersnipes for at least a decade, if not longer. Glamorizing Tsarnaev may have just been their jump the shark moment. The point at which their self-indulgent stupidity finally reached a point that they’ve finally lost the respect of anyone who isn’t completely fried on drugs.

A disgrace to artists and the people that lost life and limb that terrible day

I’ve always hated Rolling Stone Magazine. I read it once 25 years ago and then wrapped fish with it.

  • Schratboy

Rockstar moral icon bullshit. They piss themselves because a fucking ragmag puts a picture on the cover but sit quietly in their own feces while all matters of corruption, war and killing are played out in the name of “democracy and fighting terrorism.”

  • David Malbuff

Rolling Stone has not been a respectable magazine since the 1980s. It is a trashy glamour rag now with no conscience at all, social or otherwise. In 1969, Rolling Stone put Charles Manson on the cover– with a warning that he was “The Most Dangerous Man Alive.” The cover photo was taken in prison; it was in black and white, and it was ugly. Putting him on the cover was a risk, but it was a risk taken in good conscience. This “glamour bad boy” shot of the Boston thug has nothing in common with it. That was cutting-edge journalism, this is sick pandering.

FINALLY! There IS a smitten of hope left in the entertainment industry! I’m glad these people spoke up and expressed what most of us peasants out here in happy land feel.

  • Pharmokan

publish the most seductive looking picture you can find of him, not when he has a fricken laser beam pointed at his head by swat when hes coming out of the boat

  • Liberalism is Nonsense

Certainly, there’s no material difference between today’s liberals and the socialists, marxists, and communists of yore.

  • Glenn R. Tankersley

Poor Fabian! He’s always getting trashed. Granted, he wasn’t that good a rock singer, but still…

And why do they keep Blacks corraled in the innercities with a substandard education system?
