Team Rubio’s Twitter feeds fall silent on immigration

Just a few months ago, you couldn’t get Team Rubio to shut about their amnesty bill. Here are just a few of Twitchy’s posts about their tweets:

Now, with the Gang of Eight bill falling out of favor (even Gov. Rick Perry now opposes it), things are different.

Rubio’s chief of staff Cesar Conda hasn’t tweeted anything on any subject for more than two weeks.

Rubio spokesman Alex Conant recently tweeted about Cuba, the U.N.the Washington Monument, media coverage of the George Zimmerman verdictthe disconnect between Twitter and reality in America, the debt limit, subway elevators, higher ed tax reform, and his problems with Comcast customer service (we feel his pain). He last tweeted about immigration nearly three weeks ago.

Sen. Rubio himself hasn’t tweeted about immigration since June 26.

Their silence speaks volumes.

Too little too late, We remember Senator Rubio, We will not forget your perfidy

    • badazoth

amen and will not forget heres hoping we can get colonel west to primary him

    • Republicanvet

I agree strongly. I liked Rubio. With his lapdog pandering on this abomination of a bill, it tells me clearly he would sell me down the river in a heartbeat if it helped him politically. I don’t need another McCain or Grahamnesty running for the WH.

      • Lidsamy

I don’t even know how Graham, or McCain for that matter even FEED themselves

        • GoSellCrazySomeplaceElse

          • Republicanvet

            Intravenous Ensure.

          • TugboatPhil

            Well, that Depends&copy.

          • Lidsamy

            good one!!

Marco saw the Iowa poll numbers. Can you say mistake? The Dems and RINO’s love that Rubio committed political suicide. He is done and is starting to realize it while McCain, Graham, Bush, and Dems just laugh as they destroyed a Tea Party favorite

  • Calvin

They’ve seen the latest poll numbers.

  • CommieJuice

We united behind Rubio and put him in office not long after nobody even knew who he was. Charlie Crist lied about not running as an Independent, he was held to account for that lie. Not all of us could vote for Rubio, but we donated time and money to helping him. Rubio was elected as a Tea Party Republican hitched to Conservatives. Now that he lied to us and cheated with Schumer, Durbin, McCain, and Graham, there is no more trusting him. Once a cheater, always a cheater. What other major issues would he play turncoat with if given the chance? He was a top pick to run in 2016. That still might happen, but I would never vote for him even if Obama somehow found a way to repeal the 22nd amendment and ran for a 3rd term. I can thank Rubio for many years to come for making me a more principled voter who never gets fooled twice.

  • FFlintstone

He shouldn’t be silent. He should be apologizing for supporting the Senate immigration bill.

  • CommieJuice

Cesar Conda blocked me after I pointed out his success record with candidates. Apparently the history of winners like Dole and Romney isn’t his favorite subject, but repeating his successes with President Dole and President Romney with a President Rubio (ole honest Rub) is going to happen through a successful amnesty bill that gives the chance to suspend the 11-13 year wait for citizenship which makes it possible to vote by 2016 or 2020. With 18-23% of Hispanics identifying themselves as Republicans, I am sure that 2-3 out of 10 new American scenario is going to be very successful in keeping Texas, Arizona, Oklahoma, and Louisiana as red states, just like it did in California with only 3 million new Americans back in 1986.

  • Otis OatMe

Did you need him to gloat Michelle?

  • Otis OatMe

ask Van Halen how often they promote shows they have already preformed. Ask NBC how often it runs ads about the shows they already aired. Why would Rubio gloat about the contentious bill he helped pass in the Senate? It’s rhetorical…I know why you hate Rubio.

  • Lady 12

I still remember when Rubio said, “There is only one Savior, and it’s not me.” I keep praying for Rubio to pull a U-turn on the immigration, but I’m really losing hope for that. :(

    • Republicanvet

I am not waiting or praying. He said clearly what he wanted, enforcement first, then blatantly ignored that and went along with what the left wanted, while flat-out lying to his supporters about what the bill contained. Politicians are snakes. Two-faced snakes do not deserve any support. I detest how Rubio has squandered any trust I may have had in him.

    • Lidsamy

he can Uturn on it but it won’t matter, he has lost conservative support

  • des111168

I can’t recall any other politician of my lifetime who so deliberately destroyed himself. I’m not talking about things like sex scandals, I’m talking about deliberately spitting in the face of the people that elected you.

  • neoface

The bill didn’t walk the talk!!!!

  • MikeRios

He sold out the American people. Who wants to hear from him? I sure don’t.

  • TugboatPhil

When he stood up with Chuck U. Schumer I knew he had gone to the dark side.

  • Steve_J

His national political career is going silent also.

  • Jerkjohnny

He’s another Mccain, another Romney, another failed candidate. Another ‘lesser of two evils’.

I will not vote for the ‘lesser evil’ ever again.

  • Ruth

I just got a fundraising letter from his campaign. Interestingly, it didn’t mention the immigration bill at all. The only nod to that subject was where the letter said people come to America from all over the world for freedom, not big government. Yes, we don’t have illegals on welfare, using hospital and school services at no cost to them. I got a prepaid return envelope which I’ll use to send a nice note informing them why they will never see a dime from me.

  • Marvin Nelson

Being on the cover of Slime Magazine is the final kiss of death for Marco. I am very disappointed in him; had high hopes that we’d found a conservative leader. Thank God for Ted Cruz!

  • Slugglife

Rubio let the progressives ruin his reputation. Glenn Beck warned him that he would be selling his sould to the devil if he wasnt vigilant.

    He was right. bye Marco.

  • freddy

    Loser of the century.

“Republican Savior”??? Rly? Yeah because squishy RINO moderates are SO successful in national elections! Isn’t that right Dole, McCain, Romney?… Who need Democrats when eRepubs are so good at destroying themselves?

There’s no way that the (R) party will EVER accept Sarah Palin OR Ted Cruz OR Rand Paul or the TEA partyers (other than as a scapegoat), she/we need to cut bait and winner take back the entire govt from radical leftists, and give it back to We The Taxpayers… TEA party is still a wide net no matter what the enemedia says: it is ALL colors-races-creeds-orientations of right-leaning libertarians & Indies, social conservative Rs, and Reagan Ds…

  • NotaLemming

His twitter account was dead for 24 days leading up to the Senate vote. I brought this to twitchys attention from day 20 through day 24. #Ignored

meeting with his Creator (unless he has already been dealt with … I
wonder if he met Him as Savior?, … or Judge …? It would have been

  • JamesV

Sorry, I gave up on the GOP years ago because they have weak candidates. Dem? Hell no…well, maybe once in the early 90s :p

  • Magnifico

Yo, Rube. You don’t need the conservative vote. Just ask President McCain or President Romney.
