No más: Rolling Stone’s cover star is ‘popular, promising student’ Dzhokhar Tsarnaev

Let’s hope Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar “Jahar” Tsarnaev’s “ja-harem” of young female followers saved up enough allowance to buy all the copies of the new Rolling Stone before the families of the Boston Marathon bombing victims see it on newsstands. Tsarnaev is the cover star, and the feature story, “Jahar’s World,” promises a bunch of revelations about the “popular, promising student.”

To its credit, Rolling Stone does admit that radical Islam turned Tsarnaev into a monster, but he’s a dreamy, misunderstood monster. You have to be seriously evil to earn this sort of cover treatment:

  • Stephen L. Hall

    Rolling Stone still exists?

    • CDUB

Wonder how those loosing limbs, loved ones, to the First Terrorist Attack on our country since 9/11, going completely unchecked by the Obama Regime feel?

    • Doug Williams

      Gonzo resurrected…thanks to this.

  • ogama843

Face in palms. Dear Lord, help us.

    • Stone Bryson

Don’t be too dour. Since Rolling Stone was one of the major players in the attempted deification of Barack Obama this is hardly surprising, or even noteworthy excepting its vile nature.

I’ll bet Dr. Hook is thinking, “why DID we sing that song?”

Boston Boyfriend: How the Liberal Left Fell in Love with a Convicted Terrorist

    • Maxx

Once again, we have a perfect example of today’s liberal mindset. A collective of malcontent finger-pointers where everything is everyone else’s fault. He became a murderer because his parents FAILED him?

It’s all become so pathetically predictable.

      • LinTaylor

Well, of course. Nobody’s ever to blame for their own actions, it’s society’s fault.

  • R.C.

lets place a pressure cooker on his head and let Boston play pinata.

  • SR5150

What did you expect from a liberal, anti-American rag?

  • Texan357

Unconscionable. Just when I thought Rolling Stone couldn’t sink any lower.

I know – that was naive of me.

  • bkeyser

This is what happens when liberals stop buying magazines; the publisher completely jumps the shark in the sole hope of attracting… liberals. This says as much about the state of the target audience (the American left) as it does about a struggling magazine.

    • dcnj

      well said.

    • Texan357

I hadn’t thought of that – that’s pretty insightful. So, dare I nurse a hope that Rolling Stone is going the way of Newsweek? I have $1 to waste…

  • Foxxman

Covers like this are precisely aren’t exactly why I stopped reading this rag. What’s behind covers like this makes me genuinely ill.

  • Texan357

I remember the “The Worst President In History?” Bush “dunce” cover. This was when Rolling Stone was sending me their magazine free, out of the blue. I never asked for it. But, since I don’t get the newspaper, it made nice kindling for that 1-2 months during which it’s sane to use a fireplace in Houston.

  • The Penguin

Stick with the articles and covers about music…dicks!

    • Ironhawk86

Dear Lord, NO. Music is the one thing they’re even more clueless about than politics.

  • Guest

Considering the tag line is: How a Popular, Promising Student was Failed by His Family, Fell Into Radical Islam and Became a Monster, I doubt it’s going to be flattering. I’m going to wait until I read the article before I make a judgement.

    • Stephen K

It’s Rolling Stone – by the end of the article they’ll be blaming it all on the Tea Party. Otherwise, the hipsters won’t buy their magazine any more.

      • GrindingMills

Don’t judge a book (or magazine) by its cover.

        • Jill

I was a reader for many years. Humanizing monsters and practicing moral relativism is their modus operandi.

    • napalm

So they’re blaming the family not him?

    • Jerry Camp

He ‘fell’ into Islam…does this sound like Rolling Stone is going to fry this guy? Or, does it sound like they plan to make this someone else’s fault, as they do with all of America’s enemies?

  • Shawn Smith

I see things like this, and I become more and more certain that Evan Sayet is right, the leftist philosophy forces them to inevitably side with evil over good and behaviors that lead to failure over those that lead to success. How else can you explain glowing, soft-focus articles about a bomber who maimed dozens and killed three (including an eight-year-old)?

  • objectivefactsmatter

  • objectivefactsmatter

Even though we now have a radical leftist POTUS, the Rolling Stone still thinks that it’s “counter culture” to invert every rational position. The Rolling Stone is not exactly like Pravda, but they serve the same agenda.

  • Richard Jefferies

You want to talk about some severe psychosis. The left froths rabidly about the NRA being terrorists in the wake of Sandy Hook, but Rolling Stone puts a picture of an actual terrorist bomber on the cover using the most appealing image possible. And then they try to distance him from Islam and Islam from “radical” Islam. How can anyone not be convinced about the mental disorder that is liberalism?

  • Garth Haycock

Correction: popular, promising, terrorist Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.

    • Miss Clairee

They should make D. Tsarnaev sleep all night next to the extremeties (legs, arms, etc) that were forcefully torn from the victims’ bodies. He may not rethink radicalism, but he damn sure will have a lot of long-term nightmares!

      • Garth Haycock

Also, the body of his brother that he may have killed when he ran him over trying to get away from the authorities. It would be a nice reminder of his actions that day.

      • Deborah Hallsted

        I think that’s a brilliant idea.

      • algonquinmatt

how is it that ‘cruel and unusual’ punishment also seems to be the most fair and effective?

        • Bathing Suit Area

Effective at what? Making you sound as evil and bloodthirsty as those you wish to punish?

          • Grandma HeadInjury

Uh-oh, kids! We are getting ready to be lectured by a bro-choicer who is okay with dismembering 20 week old babies….

  • Guest

“The subversive Left has an unhealthy fascination with murderous subversive radicals? That’s a new one !”

  • TocksNedlog

    “Kyle Meadows @Kyle_Meadows
Anyone at @RollingStone who had input on the cover of their next issue should be ashamed of themselves. And then fired. Immediately.”
    — With all due respect, this silly tweeter needs to edjumacate hisself. Publisher Jann Wenner personally approved the cover, and he’s neither ashamed nor gonna fire himself.

  • stellatruman

I just sent an unpleasant email to Rolling Stone ( which bounced back ) They have been sending their rag to my daughter who is a recent college grad for several months , unpaid and unsolicited . I am furious since same daughter was impacted by the bombing as a student in Boston…it won’t end

  • CasualMeyhem

So how do I boycott a magazine I’ve never bought.?

    • stellatruman

That is a good question !

    • rinodino

That’s the problem with the right , you don’t know how to protest period

      • Heather_A

We’re usually working and taking care of our families and stuff…ain’t no one got time for that. I try to find a problem with it, but that damned paycheck and doing my job makes me forget.

      • tops116

Yeah, the Right goes being peaceful and dignified at protests, Why can’t they be like the Left and defecate on cars, threaten violence, destroy public property, rape people, and catch diseases found only in dogs? *cough*

        • Richard Jefferies

Loot Walmarts in the name of justice for Trayvon.

        • journogal

Not to mention destroy storefronts just because the recently outed CEO just happened to be named “George Zimmer,” which I guess is close enough for liberals.

          • Grandma HeadInjury

To be fair, spelling has never been the left’s strong point….

      • Grandma HeadInjury

That’s right. I say we rob stores and destroy private property. Then we’ll lie and claim it’s about justice for the Boston bombing victims even though it is just about getting free crap for ourselves. Then we’ll be protesting just like the left!

        Thanks for the tip, dino.

        • rinodino

You’re welcome! Glad to be of service, anytime!

          • Ironhawk86

Really wish I knew where you lived just so I could give your “home” the occupy treatment.

          • rinodino

Los Angeles Crenshaw , but that might be too scary with so many …. What’s the word I hear on twitchy a lot? “Savages”

      • ObamaFail

Why? Just because we don’t commit acts of vandalism and beat people in the head with hammers or rape women like you liberals do at your “protests” doesn’t mean we don’t know how to protest. We’re just not violent extremists like you gutter trash liberals are.

      • CasualMeyhem

I guess you will have to settle for relentless public mocking. Besides, I WANT the death of the Print MSM to be slow and painful, because it gives me great personal satisfaction.

    • Keith W

Check out a copy in a bookstore or library, note the advertisers and notify them that you will boycott their business as long as they purchase advertising in RS. Then suggest that your local library stop wasting tax dollars by subscribing since they glorify terrorism.

    • Joseph Hansell

Suggestion? Make a note of every advertiser in this issue and boycott them.

  • DV S1EOG

They run a story that forces a General to retire and now they make this guy look innocent? What is wrong with people?

  • Ironhawk86

If only we could get him to join a band named after a place then they’d hate him more than anyone. Carry On The Final Heat Of A Feeling

  • tops116

So, when will “Rolling Stones” be doing cover articles on those Dzhokar helped kill and maim?

    • ObamaFail

That would humanize the victims, and cause Dzhokhar to be cast in a bad light. Liberals don’t want terrorists victims to be a focus or to be seen as human.

  • Jill

Promising student? His many D’s and F’s prove that the Rolling Stone has some pretty low standards….

  • conservative2012

The thing is that Dzhokhar Tsarvaev could have been a promising student and actually made something of his life. Unfortunately he listened to the wrong people. Him and Trayvon Martin should be held up to kids as cautionary tales. Because sometimes you get a second chance to make it right. And sometimes there’s no second chance.

  • missyree68

Just feel it is a travesty and complete disrespect to do this to the families of loved ones lost. Thank you! Rolling Stone . . . can count on you to come through to be the most tasteless, pathetic excuse for journalism and photography. It is like you are spitting on the graves of the murdered by putting this mass murderer and that is what he is on the cover of your hideous excuse for a magazine.

  • tjp77

Hey look, I’m just happy they actually mentioned radical islam by name and called him a monster. Not that any of the teenage Jahar groupies are even going to read it, but still, baby steps.

    • Deborah Hallsted

You have a great point, but the unfortunate effect of putting a good pic of him on the cover does glamorize him. And to those to whom words mean nothing- only liberal regurgitated sound-bites penetrate; his looks are what they will concentrate on. After all, that’s what won the empty suit a presidency.

  • Paul

is anyone seriously surprised by this. the moss-covered stone is a communist rag. i wouldn’t wipe my arse with it for fear of catching the assclap.

    • Guest

      Protip: don’t google “assclap.”

      Don’t ask me how I know this….

  • Terry_Jim

” Now it’s all designed to blow our minds
But our minds won’t really be blown
Like the blow that’ll gitcha when you get your picture
On the cover of the Rollin’ Stone
(Rollin’ Stone…) Wanna see our pictures on the cover
(Stone…) Wanna buy five copies for our mothers…(Yeah)
(Stone…) Wanna see my smilin face
On the cover of the Rollin’ Stone”

  • John

Look, a terrorist in the making…oh wait, he’s already a made terrorist.

  • KansasGirl

Goodness, he’s right up there with O.

  • Kimberly Wedel

Funny how the same people that take pity on this “misunderstood” young man want George Zimmerman’s head on a platter.

    • Deborah Hallsted

      Excellent reasoning.

  • Dick Beninya

Fcuk Rolling Stone. I hope they melt down

  • Johnny Right

Why would anyone care to “understand” this turd anyway? Like reading about him is going to spur a moment where we actually connect and understand the guy who wishes he could kill more of our kids?

  • George Washington Mclintock

Gotta be fair to the liberal boneheads, they are giving it to Rolling Stone just as much we are. Most Boston residents are not on Team Twitchy, but they don’t appreciate love shown to the guy who bombed their city. Sign that all is not lost with this country, and might be enough to make Rolling Stone have to come out and admit they fucked up.

  • Lia Markham

And to think this was once a music magazine?

  • brewerandpatriot

Will Adam Lanza be named sexiest psycopath of the year?

  • exceller

I wonder how the limbless victims and surviving family members feel when they see this. Horrific and extremely bad taste.

  • Teena Breci

I would never buy rolling stone….but I would take unused copies to line the bottom of my bird cages. Seems like the perfect place for the birds to do their business.

  • Slugglife

Rolling stone sucks anyway. anything they can do to boost sales.

  • James Rose

Old hippies never die, they just smell that way.

    • Lowfibass

  • Slugglife

    Bill ayers must be proud

  • cscape

Dzokhar is actually the PERFECT choice for the Rolling Stone cover…… He is an admitted POT HEAD

    • Bathing Suit Area

Whoa! I thought being a terrorist was bad, but a pot head? Takes his villainy to a whole new level.

      • cscape

i didn’t say it was BAD…… i said it QUALIFIED him to be on their cover

  • Drinky McGee

The issue contains a story about him, so they put him on the cover. Kind of the way you’re doing a story about the cover, so you’ve plastered it all over your web site. Your hypocrisy is awe-inspiring.

  • Greg Toombs

Looks like a young Bomb Dylan.

  • LibLieExposer

One thing that photo of the bomber is missing, is a bullet hole between the eyes. Sorry the little maggot wasn’t put down when caught.

  • Sara Nichols

Rolling Stone is a un- American joke!!

  • Ass Mungler

I can’t believe they did this.

  • Bathing Suit Area

Real journalists know that you can tell how evil someone is by how they look. That’s why you always use creepy, unflattering photos of people you don’t like, and nicely lit and shot ones of people you do.

    • ObamaFail

You mean like how liberals always put halo’s or shots of Obama looking “godlike” to make him look better?

  • Grandma HeadInjury

I think the most recent picture of big brother Tamerlan should be on the cover…

  • Bathing Suit Area

Are you guys really popping your tops over the idea that looking good in a photo doesn’t automatically mean you’re a good guy?

Wearing a white hat doesn’t always signify being the good guy in the real world either, you know.

  • Deborah Hallsted

Now if they had put a pic of O on the cover, the article title might well apply.
