Oprah apologizes for post-Zimmerman verdict tweets

Silly Oprah. Get with the program! Join in the Zimmerman acquittal Twitter circus … or face the wrath of your followers.

While the rest of the Twitterverse was melting down over the not-guilty verdict, Oprah was pimping “Wanda Sykes Presents Herlarious,” a comedy special that aired on OWN.

Despite Peela’s lack of civility, Oprah extended an apology for her oh-so-ghastly Twitter crime.

Hmm … no TV? Didn’t Oprah tell another Twitter user she was “watching with ya”? That little detail went unnoticed by Peela, who was too busy swooning over a tweet from OMG OPRAH!

Wow. Just wow. “Join the lynch mob or you aren’t black”? Some people need to take a LONG, HARD LOOK IN THE MIRROR.

Thank you! So true & you said it with tact – most appreciated. :o)
I don’t think George Zimmerman should killed it was horrible situation & people are acting as if he’s glad he killed someone. I don’t think that’s the case at all. The jury did what they felt was right – if they all went in the courtroom waiting to convict the man, he could never have a fair trial. They made the best desicion with the evidence (or lack thereof) that they had.

      • Guest

When Hannity asked Zimmerman if he would still follow and confront trayvon if the situation happened again and Zimmerman said “YES”

        • Gum Boocho

Follow & confront? Baloney. The evidence favors that TM abushed Zim when Zim was not trying to get near TM at all. Did you not follow the trial testimony at all?

Oprah spent how many years at Obama’s church?

The publicist running her Twitter account screwed up; but you can bet Oprah herself was ready to join the mob.

  • Jennifer

Oprah was the ultimate wolf in sheep’s clothing…

    • Jennifer

If not for Oprah, who would be President now? Yeah, it would be bad, but at least Hillary would be on her way out instead of potentially on her way in…

It wasn’t Oprah, it was all dead people that voted twice

        • tammy

That and the 4 Democrats who forged the paperwork to get Hillary and Obama on the ballet. They had to have the votes in Indiana to get on the ballet, but didn’t have them so the 4 sat down and forged them. The 2 women have pleaded guilty and are testifying against the men for felony vote tampering. Obama was not eligible to even run, Lots of fraud. Also Soros owned the voter machines that voted Obama when people voted Romney.

      • Marcy Cook

Yes but Oprah got f*cked by odumbo and mooochelle. They threw oprah’s ass out and never looked back. oprah never talks about them and left the country during the 2012 election so she would not be a part of this. Oprah also lost her viewership on her old show which is the real reason she bought her own station, which is also a failure. Her viewers saw something they did not like when she endorsed the big eared idiot. Oprah got a long, hard wooping and I think she learned her lesson.

        • Anne Faust

RIGHT ON NOW YOU SEE THROUGH HER

        • lilredhairedgirl

If she learned her lesson she wouldn’t be apologizing for not joining the lynch mob. AND she showed what sort of liar she really is by telling one person she’s watching tv and another she’s in a part of the world without tv. Talk about a politician!

          • J. M. Gandolfo

Um, I think it’s one of her “publicists” that runs her Twitter account, not her.

        • Joe

I think it is actually more simplistic than that. How can two malignant narcissists who both liken themselves to God Almighty exist in the limelight at the same time?

          • Susan Merrifield

            Right you are

        • Pamela

I agree with everything you say Marcy. I used to watch Oprah every day and admired her but when she got on the band wagon with BO and the criminals he runs with I lost all respect for her.

        • huluvaguy

Oprah ddn’t learn any lessons, she just got scorned and humiliated. White middle class house wives made Oprah into the star she rose to be, and so to thank them she cast all of her political sway behind a presidential candidate who brought nothing to the table as far as experience on the world stage, womens issues (until it was time for re-election) or love for the country, because he said he wanted to cause fundamental change to the country, and where I came from if you wanted to marry the one you loved you did’nt say how you were going to change them after the wedding night. So why did Oprah throw all of her money and star power behind a lackluster State Senator who had virtually no “Present” votes cast as Senator of New York and was only known to a cabal of gangster politicians in Chicago? He was Black…that was good enough for her.

          • Susan Merrifield

I love your remark about being married. Best analogy I’ve heard..

          • Joe

            much to our chagrin…

          • J. M. Gandolfo

“Black” should be put in quotation marks. And to these people “black” is more a state of mind, an attitude, than a matter of skin pigmentation (btw, how does being half-white make you “black”?) To them, the Clintons are “black”.

        • sherry

@marcy cook, i hope she had her eyes opened about obummer. she should never have jumped into bed with the potus and his wife backing them. the public is forgiving but not until she lost a lot of her followers. the obamas are toxic.

Lol. Yes, I know. Poor things. I mean, what else do they have, besides the gub’ment and cries of “racism” to fall back on. Maybe they think God is black, too. If this gives them comfort, I say God bless ’em. Don’t you? :-)

    • Marshall

Black was NEVER a colour (as you spell it) I spell it color! It is the absence of COLOR! Thought you might want to know the difference! Then maybe NOT!

      • Jessica

Ok cool next time I see a black person I’ll be sure to tell them their skin is absent of colour. I’m sure they’ll like that.

        • Andrew Markham

The correct term is pigmentation deficient.

          • antranchers

Makes more sense that white is the absence of pigmentation. You people are being silly. Time to watch your back and stay vigilant. These people are being incited to riot by Poverty Pimps that are taking race relations back to the dark ages. Watch Runaway Slave, and then get back with me. Best to keep to the facts and keep your children close.

          • $31046492

I like to call them Race Whores

          • Susan Merrifield

You are right. “White” people burn more easily in the sun because their skin does not contain as much pigmentation. The definition of the two words gives a lesson if you think about it. Black is all colours combined. White reflects the light of visible wavelengths. They complement each other on the color wheel. Our Heavenly Father made both and loves both. We should be complementing each other. Don’t look for trouble, and don’t judge all people by the actions of a few.

          • SCQuilter

A black male nurse worked on me at the VA hospital today. He was so gentle & did his job so professionally. There were 2 other helpers with him, I think student nurses. They were wonderful to me, a white woman. They saw me as a patient, not the color of my skin. I thank God for them.

          • J. M. Gandolfo

Sigh. Et tu, Susan? Within the context of a discussion on skin pigmentation (as in skin color), “white” (or “light”) skin would indeed indicate lack of skin pigmentation. However, within the context of a discussion on “COLOR” (an entirely separate subject, btw), white, as in “white light”, as in the “color spectrum” (which subject falls into the general heading of Physics, not Genetics), white represents the presence of all “colors”, Primary and Secondary, Additive and Subtractive. ALL of them. Light must be “split”, or refracted, in order to produce what we call the visible light spectrum (aka the “color spectrum”). These are the colors (the primary ones) that we see in a rainbow, which is “white light” that’s been refracted by the water particles still hanging suspended in the atmosphere (air) after a rainfall. In other words, “black” is the absolute ABSENCE of color. ANY color. At all. Like space, which, having no light, has no color, and is BLACK. Think of the term “black hole” and you may begin to get the idea. And if you’re still confused, you might ask your pastor, or prayer leader, or your bible study group about it. Or perhaps a church elder. No, on second thought, don’t do that. It will only confuse you more. Anyway, while this all may seem rather pedantic, sometimes it’s helpful to kind of “go back to the books” and “do our homework”, so to speak. Be blessed, and stay vigilant. Peace. :-)

          • J. M. Gandolfo

In the light spectrum, black is the ABSENCE of any/all color, and white is the PRESENCE of all colors. It’s physics. Do your homework, or at least google it.

          • J. M. Gandolfo

Yes, you’re correct. Within the context of skin pigmentation (as in skin color), “white” (or “light”) skin would indeed indicate lack of skin pigmentation. As you probably may already know (but simply forgot), the light spectrum must be “split”, or refracted, in order to produce what we call the visable light spectrum (aka the “color spectrum”). These are the colors (the primary ones) that we see in a rainbow, which is “white light” that’s been refracted by the water particles still suspended in the air after a rainfall. I know this all sounds rather pedantic, and I’m sure that you and others already knew this, but sometimes it’s helpful to kind of “go back to the books” and “do our homework”, so to speak. Now, let the bashing and the snarky sarcasm begin. :-)

          • J. M. Gandolfo

Well, actually, “blacks” have PLENTY of skin pigmentation (much to their everlasting chagrin). The term “pigmentation deficient” would more aptly apply to “whites” (as in “Caucasian, or “European”), and most certainly to albinos.

      • antranchers

“colour” is the way the English spell it. This is not incorrect.

        • deToqueville

          Taken from Norman French “couleur”.

      • lilredhairedgirl

The whole world doesn’t spell the way America does. Jessica seems to live in Australia where they spell color…colour.

      • texasmarinemo

I’m not sure that’s exactly correct. White or albino would be absent of color. I think black is the combination of all color. Just sayin’. . .

        • TexSizzle

White light contains all colors, and black pigment contains all colors. It’s weird, but that’s the way it works.

        • tammy

I had it in my head, that black was all colors, too.

      • deToqueville

It apparently is taking on the mantel of lacking in: logic, civility, honesty, intelligent rhetoric, self-examination, and the “higher” side of human nature. Their “true” colors are “shining” through.

      • Jill

So, the term that ‘people of color’ should no longer be used? Perhaps your time and talents would be better served by informing every individual and organization that they are propagating a lie.

Furthermore, why are you so bothered by spelling differences between Canadian/British and American standard English?

        • J. M. Gandolfo

The term “people of color” is what has always been used historically to describe blacks/Africans. In French the term “gens de coleur libre” was used to describe “free people of color”, or blacks/Africans who were NOT slaves, but in fact many of them OWNING slaves.

      • eddie333

In color theory, black is the saturation of all color, while white is the absence of color

        • J. M. Gandolfo

Um, you’ve have got that completely ASS BACKWARDS. You need to GOOGLE it. Look it up under “Light Spectrum”.

          • Infinite_Indeterminism

            Additive or subtractive colors ?

(Colored light – or pigments ?)

          • antranchers

I think the subject is skin pigmentation not light spectrum. Amazing arrogance! Google it. Hahaha

          • antranchers

I think the subject is skin pigmentation not light spectrum. Amazing arrogance! Google it. Hahaha

          • Medusa00

You both are correct. Now shake hands and say goodnight.

          • J. M. Gandolfo

How about if we shake hands and say “get stuffed”? :-)

      • Susan Merrifield

Black is not the absence of colour. It is the conglomerate of all colour. ( Black is the absorpbtion of all light of visible wavelengths). White is the opposite; the reflection of nearly all color of visible wavelengths. “Colour” is the old time way to spell “color”. I believe it comes from GB, not sure. I learned to spell it c-o-l-o-u-r from my mother who loved poetry. I think she thought it looked more poetic.

      • Joe Smoe

Color is spelled differently in other English speaking countries….dumb ass

      • J. M. Gandolfo

Yes, Marshall, in spite of the apparently uninformed opinions of your many detractors, you are, in fact, correct.

    • Rhoadie

      A sad state of mind

    • http://www.facebook.com/ Blarney Rose

Or the mindless…now the NAACP is pushing for a federal civil rights charge against Zimmerman! Trayvon Martin was as culpable in his death as the NAACP, et al, want you to believe was solely caused by George Zimmerman! Quit preaching to the choir, Trayvon Martin was no choirboy! He went looking for Zimmerman and acted like a punk from the hood when he smashed his fist in Zimmerman’s face! If Zimmerman had been out for blood, he would have had his gun drawn way before he was accosted by Trayvon Martin!

      • Jim

        True

        • rockybb

@blarneyrose:disqus according to the 911 call, Martin did NOT go looking for Zimmerman. Zimmerman was told NOT to pursue and he did anyhow. Those facts are clear but perhaps you haven’t heard the recording? The violation of civil right occurred when Mr. Zimmerman decided to take the law into his own hands and take the life of an unarmed person. Perhaps it would be enlightening for you and @41fde8f444c121ae97afaf7dad0ace1c:disqus to re-examine your own biases in this case, and what you consider “truth.” To be clear, UNARMED Trayvon Martin is dead because another ARMED man was afraid of him. There’s nothing just about today’s verdict. Mr. Zimmerman should have NEVER pursued Mr. Martin, much less pulled a gun a killed him.

          • Adela Wagner

Who told Zimmerman “DO NOT PURSUE”?

          • Justin Kaser

Since when did instructions from 911 become law? I don’t know if you realize this, but you have just as much right to take someone into custody and protect citizens as the police have. The police are driving around looking for people breaking the law. Zimmerman has the same constitutional rights as the cops have. I don’t think that Zimmerman would have followed Trayvon had he looked like the photos that the media showed. I’ll tell you what, if a young person with gold teeth, tattoos and a hoodie was lurking around your home, I wouldn’t use my guns to protect you or your liberal family. GOOD LUCK!

          • robcrawford2

“To be clear, UNARMED Trayvon Martin is dead because another ARMED man was afraid of him.”

No, because UNARMED Trayvon was using his fists to pound the life out of an ARMED man.

And, as are many “states of mind”, it’s becoming a mental disorder, like “liberalism”.

  • FFlintstone

Liberals are the ultimate ruthless mob. Join the mob or face our wrath. I can just imagine liberals with their torches and pitchforks trying to convict witches in Salem, MA. We know they’re guilty! Who needs evidence?

    • Diogenes

Sounds like a wild generalization. the ultimate witch hunter in American politics, joseph mccarthy, wasn’t liberal. Ironically, you made a robust accusation with no evidence that doesn’t confirm with modern facts.

      • ItsThatBriGuy

McCarthy was actually a Wisconsin LaFollette Progressive.

        • Jefferson Tester

@ThatGuy …In other words… A liberal. (LoL. Silly libs; always on the wrong side of history.)

          • Diogenes

I think you’re falling into false dichotomies. Plus, there’s no sense in speculating about history and generalizing about liberals and democrats, when the head prosecutor in the case is a Republican and Zimmerman is a registered Democrat. Lol

          • BigSky1970

West and O’Mara donated to more Democrats than Republicans, including to Judge Nelson’s campaign.

          • russ scott

progressives, at that time, had the same characteristics as today’s liberals.

funny how liberals, now, embrace that term “progressive” and apply it to everything that they believe is an “advancement.”

          • Diogenes

he was also a Republican, but I’m sure there’s another cop out tactic to dodge that.

          • russ scott

            nice try, failure.

          • russ scott

point to where I mentioned anything about him being a democrat?

            nice try, failure.

          • Jill

Who? Zimmerman? That seems about right, only if you ignore all of the evidence to the contrary.

          • Jefferson Tester

With the Dems largely calling for his guilt and the Repubs and conservatives defending him on the national stage, what do you want to bet he has a change of heart or at least party?

          • John Joiner

A progressive actually came up with the gas chamber as a humane way to deal with the ‘undesirables’ in society.

          • Diogenes

I think you committed a logical fallacy in that statement, but if it makes you feel better keep telling it to yourself. A person wishing to dispute that could claim that conservatives invented the guillotine. It’s a rather tangential attack on conservatives, don’t cha’ think?

          • Archie262

Actually John is right. Nevada conducted the first execution by gas in 1924 because they thought it more humane than the electric chair.

          • Hiraghm

Actually, progressives came up with the guillotine as a humane way to deal with heinous criminals rather than breaking them on the wheel as was traditional.

          • Infinite_Indeterminism

Not quite – they had progressed to beheadings, but doing that consistently correct with a hand-held implement, is somewhat difficult. Which is why Dr Guillotine came up with a machine that would ensure a humane and efficient execution of the condemned people…

          • J. M. Gandolfo

Correct. But the French, ever on the lookout for an interesting “turn of a phrase” decided to make the name feminine by adding the “e” on to the end of the good Dr.’s name, and referred to the killing machine as “Madame Guillotine”. Cute, huh? Ah, the French.

          • Hiraghm

The wheel was in use up until the 19th century. There were “machines” for beheading long before the 18th century. And the French monarch specifically sought alternatives to the wheel for more human means of execution.

          • Infinite_Indeterminism

“Machines ” ? Possibly, but either not in use /not known in France, or too badly constructed to satisfy the conscience of Dr Guillotin (as I’ve been told his name is spelled).

As for the wheel, – again, perhaps. I’m not so sure when it comes to France, which is the country relevant in the case of the guillotine. Having in the meantime consulted the Wikipedia (and assuming that the article on the guillotine is accurate), yes, sometimes the wheel was used, sometimes hanging, and for nobility, beheadings, as I phrased it, “with a hand-held implement”.

Given that background, a change to an exclusive use of the guillotine would actually BE an improvement, if we assume that the death penalty would continue, anyway.

          • Katepatate

            Really humane.

          • J. M. Gandolfo

            Actually, it was.

          • Diogenes

I love how these claims only talk about progressive(s) without naming actual people. It’s a rather lame attack. Not to mention, it disregards those that disavow capital punishment across the board. Plus, your answer is a straw man that totally misses my point. You’re committing a genetic fallacy.

          • J. M. Gandolfo

Actually, it was a Frenchman by the name of “Guillotin” (without the “e’) who invented the “guillotine” in the 1700’s. I don’t know if he was a “progressive”, or not.

          • John Joiner

Just doing my best to remind people that ‘progressives’ of any party have been some of the most evil humans in existence.

            http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eugenics_in_the_United_States

          • Rhoadie

            True

          • Diogenes

if that was intended to be an objective statement, then God help us all. If the term progressive is something you apply to anything you deem evil, then you might be interested in another term http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scapegoat

          • John Joiner

There’s plenty of bad out there that is not of the ‘prog’ strain. ‘Prog’ is the term these people have given themselves because they believe they know better than those of us they deem ‘lessers’. Some examples include Woodrow Wilson, Margaret Sanger and their contemporary counterparts Barack Obama and Bill Ayers. Just to name a few.

          • J. M. Gandolfo

Margaret Sanger, founder of “Planned Parenthood”, and progenitor of the concept and practice of Eugenics, before lending her leadership to the rather well-known movement advocating the mass murder of babies in their mothers’ womb, was a staunch PROGRESSIVE.

          • John Joiner

She was more concerned with the babies of non-whites if you want to get specific about it.

          • J. M. Gandolfo

            Indeed.

          • Joe Smoe

I had a guy actually argue the FACT that Abe Lincoln was a democrat, some peoples children………He was such an ass about it as well, But I would bet money he knew every word to the top ten rap tunes on the radio, if some folks took time to learn some things about the world and history what a better discussion and debate we would have…………..

        • ImTheNana

He was a Republican when he was Senator.

          • ItsThatBriGuy

“Republican” and “Progressive” have, sadly, never been mutually exclusive. Particularly in Wisconsin.

          • Diogenes

It seems quite trivial to my point to debate definitions of modern political parties, yet someone can blindly speculate about the thoughts of colonial mobs to suit their fancy. It’s no wonder that the words “liberal” and “socialist” have become pejoratives in the lexicons of unthinking minds.

          • george Carlin

They are pejoratives to rational logical minds. Liberal and socialist are positive terms for the emotional mind. Our founding fathers were liberals but now they would be considered right wing extremists

          • Hiraghm

Just as “evil” and “horrific” have become pejoratives.

I’m quite sure the meaning of those is static regardless of who you ask; “liberal” and “socialist” aren’t too favored on this site, I’ve observed. if you think the same logic applies, then that’s really baffling.

          • Hiraghm

“liberals” as they define themselves today are horrific, and “socialists” have always been evil. Always. It’s an objective standard measurable by their belief system and behavior.

          • Lonnie G Hopson

First..you have a problem getting your point across, even to liberals, because you make no sense!

          • Guest

            Can you read?

          • Lonnie G Hopson

Read and usually comprehend, at least on a collegiate level. You still make no sense. Maybe I just cannot comprehend “libspeak!” Plus, I do not hide behind “guest” as my name!

          • Cliff Cabbage

Liberals, socialists, communists, Marxists, progressives, all the same thing.

        • Albert Schmitlap.

That was MANY yrs. ago. My parent were Dumbocrat until they retired and had time to discover what they weren’t being told. then they switched parties and ask for forgiveness. The DNC is NOT the one my parents voted for during McCarthy’s time,,,not ONE bit the same.

          • Katepatate

My parents and my whole family were Democrats. All of us have changed parties except for one brother and he is the angriest, most bitter man I know. Being a Democrat does that to you.

        • John B

History has also vindicated Joe McCarthy, as witnessed by the myriad of documents from the 1950’s and 1960’s that have been declassified. The US government was indeed infiltrated by commie sewer rats, as Joe McCarthy alleged way back when.

      • ImTheNana

The difference being, in retrospect, after the Venona Intercepts and other information, it turns out McCarthy was correct in almost all of them.

        • arrow2010

        • Diogenes

Where in my statement did I say whether he was right or wrong? Even so, it’s subjective and depends on who you ask.

          Fool.

          • Elilla Shadowheart

Good thing that when it comes down to it there are facts and opinion. Opinions fall into that “subjective” category.

          • Goodyeargirl

Liberals always fall back on the “subjective”explanation when they don’t have a clue what they’re talking about…….. just sayin’

      • High_Tech

It wasn’t a witch hunt, because McCarthy was right all along. Communist subversion (a.k.a. liberalism) has done it’s damage.

This shows that you have been at the cool-aide too long, or you are just ignorant. McCarthy was right in all but one case. Which puts him way ahead of you.

        • Diogenes

Kool-Aid*. C’mon, I know you were saving up for that one, but it lost some steam…Also, maybe I spoke too soon when I brought up McCarthy. A better example of a crazed, polarized force is this comment board.

          • Lonnie G Hopson

you are a “better example of a crazed, polarized force” because you keep opening your mouth without engaging your brain.

          • Nancy

Then I suggest you take your ‘brilliant” self and leave. Most of us on here are doing what you are doing ‘expressing our opinion”. Your condescending attitude does not make you right, it only makes people not believe anything you say.

          • Katepatate

That is why you are here then?

          • plumberskid

I dunno. No one here seems “crazed” to me. It only stands to reason that this site seems “polarized”, as it is a conservative site supported by a (mostly) conservative bunch. What did you expect?

          • ObamaFail

I don’t know, the black people threatening to riot or “kill whiteys” seem pretty crazed to me. THe group of black guys who assaulted a white reporter last night who asked them what they felt about the verdict are crazed. No one forced them to do

          • mike_in_kosovo

As opposed to the sweetness and light of Dkos, Du or MM, I suppose.

What’s a “modern fact”? Is that another term for revisionist history?

Problem with that analogy is, McCarthy actually found “witches”.

        Mccarthy was not wrong .

I am still trying to figure out what you were trying to say. Your statement seems a trifle disjointed and pointless.

      • Albert Schmitlap.

Since when is the TRUTH a Generalization? Or do you live in a cave and is your ONLY news source the Big 4?

        • Diogenes

Sorry. I must be unaware of the great, absolute truth that says every evil in history was done by liberals, and that liberalism is synonymous with communism…

          • Jefferson Tester

Every evil? No. Admittedly, that would be false. However, I bet it could be proven that the base concepts behind the greatest evils could be most easily explained utilizing progressive liberal philosophies.

          • Diogenes

Show me the money and prove it then.

          • Jefferson Tester

Well, then let’s see. Give me three of the greatest evils (racial massacres, land grabs, etc.) and I’ll see if I can boil them down.

          • Diogenes

Show me the money and prove it then.

            Actually, yes, you are…

      • Albert Schmitlap.

McCarthy was right and history showed him to be even today. Wished we had people with HIS Character in congress now.

      • Duke Williams

He may not have been liberal……….but he was right !!!!

      • Jamie Huff

Amazingly ALL of the “witches” (communists) he hunted turned out to be real WITCHES! How about that? We need more Joe McCarthys now to purge all of the communists, socialists and traitors out of Washington today but that would gut most of Congress and the White House.

      • Tom Chipp

You call him a witch hunter, history has proven him right. Sharpton gets defamation convictions for his race baiting crap and he is a leader. Liberals are right on par with the Westboros but you are too damned blind to see it.

Records released after the fall of the Soviet Union showed McCarthy was right in his suspicions that the KGB had infiltrated the highest levels of the US government.

Once again, misinformed liberal narrative. The past 60+ years have seen a march toward communism, now calling themselves “progressives”. McCarthy had it right! And no, he was not a liberal, that’s why he had it right.

      • mike_in_kosovo

McCarthy is no more ‘modern fact’ than Salem.

They are the new Nazi brownshirts.

Margret Sanger was a progressive. Had a plan to reduce the number of Blacks, which she called undesirable Weeds, she was the idea behind Hitler’s Holocaust, found Planned Parenthood and thought that unfit children should still be put down at as late as 3 month after birth. Now, tell me how ANY person, progressive or not, could not only support that mental illness but fight to continue it. We saw it this last week in Austin, Texas…sad.

    • http://saberpoint.blogspot.com/ Stogie Chomper

I agree. Our liberal society, including academia and corporations, exert strong pressure to pay lip service to leftist dogmas and nostrums: any and all nonblack efforts to defend oneself from widespread black crime can only be borne of racism, being one of the chief examples.

Wait, all she did was tweet about a tv show and she gets this? Can’t you be free to not give a shit either way?

    • John

No. If you’re not with them, you’re against them.

Let me tell you a story.

In 1945, the Germans surrendered, and the Greece of my ancestors was freed. In 1946, the Greek Communists tried to take over the country and started a civil war. The Communists approached my family, who were mid-size landowners, and demanded their support.

They refused. In response, the Communists did two things: they burned down the family home, and they kidnapped two women. They held them hostage in the mountains for an entire year to try to coerce the family’s support. In the end my family did not give in, and luckily the women were eventually returned at the end of the civil war.

      It’s a lesson I have never forgotten.

You should see how mad some people get if Google doesn’t celebrate their favorite holiday hard enough.

      • Damien Johnson

It wasn’t the fact Google didn’t celebrate Easter as much as it was the fact they chose to celebrate something else that day when Easter would obviously be considered the higher priority. If Google had nothing that day there should not have been an issue. I feel Google should have just not had a doodle that day.

That anyone cares about Peela and Winfrey’s feelings about the Zimmerman trial shows just how pitiful we have become as a society.

  • dennislippy

It is apparent that many don’t care about the truth or the rights of anyone……Mr. Martin caused his own death by attacking someone who was not attacking him and his adversary was armed and forced to use the weapon……According to testimony from the star witness, Martin was at the rear gate of his fathers home and instead of going into the house, he pursued Zimmerman after Zimmerman stopped tailing him…..At that point, Martin became the pursuer and based on evidence and testimony attacked Zimmerman……Not a mark on Martin other than the bullet wound and Zimmerman beat to a pulp………SELF DEFENSE.

    • Cynthia Peters Bartosh

Well now, we have someone here with common sense. Great post.

    • dblply2k

Well said… but again…the race card always comes into play because a black kid died regardless of the facts/evidence presented.

    • kyrifles

“According to testimony from the star witness, Martin was at the rear
gate of his fathers home and instead of going into the house, he pursued
Zimmerman after Zimmerman stopped tailing him….”

And this was the star prosecution witness. It’s now clear why the defense lawyers freaked out (in the words of a CBS headline writer) when the prosecution tried to add a charge of child abuse. The defense was having serious difficulty trying to hold down the gales of laughter building up since the first day of the trial, when the prosecution started making the defense’s case with just about every prosecution witness called to the stand.

t’s evident Oprah has a more reasonable sense of priorities. She was no doubt watching what she was in preparation for an upcoming show, not glued obsessively to something which if of no real consequence to her. And even if it wasn’t for her show, the sentiment stands.

Not an Oprah fan, but not everyone knew the moment a verdict was reached and announced. Personally, been out taking care of “life” all day. Did check the headlines periodically to see if the verdict was in. The verdict apparently came in right after the last time I checked, so I didn’t know until my roommate later checked and found it had come in. So, oh dear, I was ignorant of the verdict and actually talked about other things until I found out there was a verdict.

  • Scott Murphy

  • Nanette

First there should have never been a trial.. at all. This was a horrible tragedy! I watched this hours after it happened..there is only a “racial out cry” for political reasons. Look at the black communities with all the crime and yet nothing is done. If this had been a black on black, a Hispanic on Hispanic or a white on white crime…ask yourself, would this had been in the news? Would that guy in the white house said a word. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are the raciest and why would they want to divide us? This was NOT about race at all..not a “child” getting skittles. This was about a guy who was watching his neighborhood after there had been many break- ins. This about someone that got out of his vehicle following someone that fit a description of who they were told to watch out for, This is about a man that called head quarters and was told to go back. This is about a young man who was going to make a point with a “white cracker”! So who took what into their “own hands”? Why didn’t he just go to his apartment? This was a tragedy, This is a fact. But WHY does those in our government have to stir up hatred?? God forgive all of those that have hate and prejudice in their hearts no matter what color our skin! I pray this hatred does not blind us to TRUTH!

  • pepjrp

Peela is so upset over the verdict and with Oprah, yet all that Zimmerman case goes right out the window in her mind and is happy as a clam, loves her life now that Oprah tweeted back.

It amazes me, the number of ignorant people thinking that Zimmerman should’ve been convicted. The justice system isn’t about color, it’s about what happened. All of you acting like arm-chair lawyers and you know nothing of due process.

In the eyes of the court:
A attacked B, B feared for his safety. B shot A. End of story.

In the eyes of the court, and under the LAW, a person is INNOCENT, until proven guilty. PERIOD. The burden of guilt is on The State, NOT Zimmerman. If the “victim” was white and 35, nobody would’ve cared, but thanks to Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson sticking their nose where it doesn’t belong, we now have a nation dividing issue. This case should have NEVER been tried.

Anyone who says differently is an idiot, and knows nothing of the legal process.

What part of corroborating evidence do you not understand?

        • Bathing Suit Area

Why you think that there is any.

  • TSE

Justice has been served. The State did NOT have a case. The Judge said that in the very beginning. The State’s case was manufactured and they had to invent evidence. All the police reports said Zimmerman’s statements were consistant with the facts of the case. CSI proved what Zimmerman reported and the prosecution did things that are NOT to be done, such as, gathering all of Martin’s family in a room with NO LAW OFFICERS PRESENT and TOLD THEM to say the screams on the tape were Martin’s after Martin’s OWN FATHER said the screams were NOT his son’s. Everybody is all up in arms about 1 black person being killed by someone that is not black, and yet, how many of you have heard about Johnathon Paul Foster, a young white boy that was kidnapped and murdered by a black woman in 2010? She tied him up with twine and burned him with a blow torch until he was dead and unrecognizable. This was ignored by the media. Or, Jacqueline Gardner. A Joe’s Crab Shack Waitress (white woman) that was killed by 3 young black men for her tip money. Again, ignored by the Liberal media. Funny how only black people dieing at the hands of another race is newsworthy. NEWSFLASH: Black people murder more black people than any other race.

For the people who actually follow Oprah she really is in a location where there are no T.V’s. If someone posts information about a show that’s on her network she’s just showing support for her business. Is she really watching the show? Of course not.

It’s unfortunate but she has become the victim of delayed information. We all know that if Oprah had access to the Zimmerman Verdict she would have tweeted something more comparable African American Cultural Perspectives.

    White Americans have tried to ignore constant accusations of being racist;
they have reached out to heal the past, for which THEY are not responsible.
    Then, as the same race baiting continues, finally coming from the White House;
millions simply shrug and turn their backs on Sharpton, Jackson and the Obamas.

George Z – you are welcome in my neck of the woods.

These people are turning me into a racist.

    • Michelle

Just had this exact conversation with someone. I’m not a racist, I honestly don’t see color…until those of color start whining about what victims they seem to think they are. You want to go through life pretending to be a victim based on the color of your skin? Then I will view you as a person who is racist and treat you accordingly.

Highlights from 20 Years (1973 to 1992) of Surveying Crime Victims https://www.ncjrs.gov/pdffiles1/bjs/144525.pdf
”…Blacks thus committed 7.5 TIMES more violent inter-racial crimes than whites even though the black population is only one-seventh the size of the white population. When these figures are adjusted on a per capita basis, they reveal an extraordinary disparity: Blacks are committing more than 50 TIMES the number of violent racial crimes of whites.”

        FBI’s crime figures for 2007 http://www.wnd.com/2012/03/trayvons-tweets-and-black-hate-crimes/
“Blacks committed 433,934 violent crimes against whites, EIGHT TIMES as many as the 55,685 that whites committed against blacks.”

Dozens of vicious assaults since Trayvon Martin slaying http://www.wnd.com/2012/05/wave-of-black-mobs-brutalizing-whites/

        • Diogenes

Those are rather meaningless figures. For one, how does a “violent racial crime” differ than a violent crime against a person of another race? Are they the same? Either way, a crime against a person of another race isn’t necessarily meditated by race. Since blacks are outnumbered by whites, it only follows that black on white crimes will occur at a higher rate.

  • patmich99

  • gregzotta

    The
black racialists did not listen to the facts of this case. They were stirred up
by the race-baiters and the manipulative media and their only concern was a
black ‘child” was killed, by a “white” Hispanic. Do you think they are
concerned with the multitude of black children that are being killed on a daily
basis in cities around the country, by black thugs? Trayvon Martin is dead because of the actions of Trayvon
Martin. This case should have never been brought based on the facts. It was brought
on by the Obama Regime race-baiters. George Zimmerman was doing his job as the
neighborhood watchman, when he was attacked by Trayvon Martin and had to shoot
him to keep from getting killed. What does have relevance is Zimmerman’s frame of mind when Trayvon continued
to bash Zimmerman’s head against the concrete. Zimmerman was in fear of his
life and believed Trayvon would kill him. Therefore, Zimmerman has/had the
    right to defend himself.

    • neoface

The reason they didn’t listen is because they already had their minds made up that Zimmerman murdered this poor innocent child. The prosecutor try that and the jury didn’t buy it because the evidence didn’t support that out come. See how Obama has divided the country? Obama gets involve in things that are none of his business, but hides from doing his real job. We all should petition to fire Obama.

  • David Hallman

How dare yo be happy just because Oprah tweeted you. Now go back and pull that head out of ass so your able to listen to the facts.

  • worldscam

I’m not the biggest fan of Oprah– but, um.. what exactly did she do wrong here? I’d say nothing.

    • EastValleyConservative

She didn’t toe the line! :)

    • neoface

She was suppose to be ranting like all the other idiot, and send a lynch mob after Zimmerman.

  • Rick Thomas

Stand your ground in Oakland, protect your property from the rioting

  • col

In my opinion which doesn’t mean much to anyone but me, I think any black person that is ranting about the Zimmerman verdict is a racist. If Zimmerman had been black and Trayvon had been white, that would have been OK with blacks. They would have been out celebrating instead of talking about lynching Zimmerman or about rioting. Talk about double standards! I noticed two members of the black panther’s outside the courthouse waiting to hear the verdict. One was holding up a piece of paper in one hand but the writing was too small to read and he had a bag of Skittles in his other hand. What was the point of the Skittles? That was the story about why Trayvon had gone to the convenience store but holding a bag of Skittles candy is just plain stupid. Anyone that believes the reason Trayvon went to the store was to get a bag of Skittles is daft, unless Skittles is a code word or marijuana.

    • neoface

Obviously Martin had the munchies after having the marijuana in his system. That kid is no angel!!!

    Twitter.

Where someone like Peela feels entitled to tell someone like Oprah what they should be doing and how they should feel.

Welcome to the new generation of self absorbed a**holes who all think they are celebrities because they have “followers” on Twitter.

They take selfies and pics of anything on Instagram and it is all about ME.

    ME. ME. ME.

Just this arrogant and entitled and obnoxious mindset.

    Yuck.

What is uglier than the verdict in the Zimmerman trial?

The verdict on the new, connected, social media generation.

Guilty of being obnoxious and self serving.

  • col

Oprah pretends to be miss goody goody who loves all people but, she lets her guard down and shows her true colors every now and then. She is as much of a racist as the Obama’s.

  • http://www.marknelza.blogspot.com/ Mark Nel

Proof people like Oprah will sacrifice their right to independent thought just to keep their fans happy.

  • neoface

I like to hear the same outrage from these idiot on all the black on black killing that happens everyday in Chicago and other places. It was a tragic incident but Trayvon was also at fault not as the prosecutor try to portrait. Why aren’t you people more up set that the four Americans were killed in Benghazi because of Hillary and Obama’s negligence? Yes, let’s put Obama and Hillary on trial for negligent homicide. At least Zimmerman was found innocent after going through a trial, can’t say the same for Obama and Hillary!!!! I’m actually more pissed out Benghazi, where is the justice for the four Americans who were murdered????

    • foramerica

I’ll tell you why they are not upset over Benghazi. I wrote a comment about it on another article and the left went nuts. They don’t believe Hillary did anything wrong. They think both Hillary and Obama are innocent of any wrongdoing. Their view is that republicans are making a big deal out of nothing. In other words, they have swallowed the media’s lies hook, line, and sinker. Watching the Zimmerman trial, how could anyone come away with a guilty verdict? What I mean is Zimmerman may or may not be guilty. But the way it works is that the prosecution has to prove that he is guilty beyond the shadow of a doubt. That did not happen. Instead everyone they brought up seemed to botch the whole case. A juror must go by what they see presented in the court room, not by the demonstrations outside. To anyone watching the trial, the prosecution did not prove beyond the shadow of a doubt that Zimmerman was guilty. But those who make their living through racism have to keep this alive. The problem for them in this case, however, is that Zimmerman wasn’t white.

  • John Andrews

Peela’s self description: Magical lesbian and Consigliere of 3rd shift twitter. I got a bad bitch in my home.
    lol…. Soooo self important

  • Al Garcia

The liberals are out for blood tonight especially the black liberals. They’ve been like a lynch mob for a year now and now that the jury has spoken their outraged that it didn’t go their delusional way. If they had their way Zimmerman would have been lynched long ago because he dared to defend himself against a teenage thug. These people are worse then the KKK . Reverse discrimination at it’s finest. Zimmerman was found NOT GUILTY after a lengthy trial by a jury . Deal with it like civilized people and quit lowering yourself to the gutter level. People like the Waylon asshole need to show some intelligence instead of making him and his race look like fools.

“historic moment for black people” What are they going to finally deal with their violent culture? Imagine if Martin didn’t have gangsters as role models? Maybe he’d have stuck out his hand to Zim and shook his hand and said “Hi! I’m Trayvon, I’m moving in here today!” Instead of seeing that moment in time as a call to a beat down. No, its not a historical moment for blacks. Its just more of the same denial.

  • Karmacomesaround

It was the WHITE people who made OPRAH what she is today.

  • cantonst

Hey OW…how about taking care of some of Chicago’s black on black crime…what are you doing about that? Everything doesn’t have to be about making Oprah more powerful and wealthy!

  • Albert Schmitlap.

According to these morons on the left it OK for young black to do whatever they want to whomever they want as long as there is a Political spin on it. Oprah has made a LOT of mistakes and was always forgiven…god know why…but she should know better then to stick her nose into something this volatile. But then again, we have a president that did it first….so.
A class action suit should be filed on ALL that participated in this Lynch Mod, all the way to day ONE…POTUS included. But then we have NO lawyers in this country that still stand for justice…only making money. I can dream can’t I?

  • Robert M

You are who you hang with!!! This sort of thing has nothing to do with justice and everything to do with the growing black racism movement in this country!

  • Michael Price

It is a sad case for sure but the evidence spoke and the jurors made their verdict (like it or not) based on that evidence not the spin that the media and Civil Rights leaders tried to put on the case. I pray for the Martin family that they will find peace and use this tragedy to educate other young adults. One more thing. Trayvon was not a “child”, they are always trying to portray this individual like a 6yo. walking around with a bag of skittles and a soft drink when in fact it was a young “man” who chose a certain path and that path had a tragic end. This young man was a typical modern young adult and did what I believe most of us would have at that age however with people that carry weapons in neighborhood watch groups or just people that carry weapons (legally or not), children (of ALL AGES) need to be made aware of the dangers of confronting strangers and being out late at night.

Then, Oprah tweets back an apology.

Suddenly, the GZ verdict doesn’t mean squat anymore, because this person is beside herself because Oprah tweeted her personally.

lol, she’s forgotten all about Trayvon already… never takes long with low info people.

  • DanMR

I am having a very difficult time with everyone who feels Martin got a raw deal. If Zimmerman would of been Black this would of been a small blog hidden somewhere in the bottom of the last page, But since the media chose to take this story and sensationalize it now a large percentage of the Black population of this country is up in arms and many places, especially Florida, are gearing up for widespread riots. Something is so very wrong with this country at the this time in history and I, sadly, blame Obama for a large part of it. A sitting President knows better than to make the statements about these events like he has. At least you would hope and think he does. But with this President, he feels nothing is off limits and we all crave his wonderful words of wisdom since he is so much brighter than all of us. I am just saying prayers this country will stay peaceful over this verdict.

    • Proud2bfromtheUSA
