American firefighters join battle against devastating blaze in Quebec town

American firefighters joined their Canadian counterparts to fight the blaze that followed a train derailment and explosions in Lac-Mégantic, Quebec.

CBC News reports, “More than 100 firefighters, some as far away as Sherbrooke, Que., and the United States, were on the scene early Saturday morning to bring the flames under control.”

God bless firefighters.

I’m an American, and I’m not there, but thank you also, American firefighters, for going where the need is.

Country borders don’t matter when it comes to responding to tragedies like this.
