And I heard you moved on
    From whispers on the street
A new notch in your belt
    Is all I’ll ever be
And now I see, now I see, now I see
    He was long gone
    When he met me
And I realize the joke is on me

    Heh.

We’ve got a naive young pup who is now in over his head. While the over-reaching gov spying on citizens needed to be disclosed, Snowden failed to realize that he would become a useful idiot to foreign leaders. The world is not going to be this happy utopian place because of him or anyone else. There are too many power grabbers out there. In addition, who were the wackos who felt that Snowden or others like him should get clearance and access to classified info? Hey, but gov can keep us safe, right? More like feeding us to the wolves.

As I’ve said before, I think the best punishment for Snowden would be for the US government to just forget about him. He’s already done all the harm he can (or will before we’d get him back), so let him live out the rest of his life in China or Russia or wherever. I don’t think he’d like how it turns out.

IOW, sometimes the worst punishment for an idiot is to let them have what they think they want.

      • wuzafan

so we should let obama have what he wants?

One bungle after another. First this guy evidently had access to way too much sensitive information without proper clearance. Then he exposes information – right or wrong – not here at home, but in unfriendly countries. We don’t seem to be able to get him back (cue plane full of reporters to Cuba), so what’s our President’s response to this fiasco? Eh, no big deal, we never cared about him anyway.

Isn’t this the Aesop definition of “sour grapes?”

    • okieeagle

Where did you hear that Snowden has exposed any information to foreign nations?

      • nc

Oh my bad. He must have gone to Russia for the borsch and blinis.

        I do know he shared them with two Newspapers (One being “The Guardian”); but I don’t know if he’s shared it with any other Government entities… Jawamax 8<{D}

He’s got my respect for getting thirty reporters on a sixteen hour flight to Cuba. Got to give props for that.

  • syvyn11

So to the Traitor-in-Chief, our national security is “No big deal”? I’m sure our enemies are glad to hear that.

    • ObamaFail

Once our enemies saw what Obama let happen in Benghazi and how hard his administration tried to cover it up after it happened, that’s when they realized the US isn’t anything worth worrying about anymore.

  • in_awe

He’s got more important fund raising to do and open borders to protect.

  • 8gary8

Seems that Snowden is NOT a threat, as first thought, to our national security. Occasionally, Obama has been known to be a subliminal, manipulator of the news. In short, the White House continues to engage in political strategizing in an attempt to hoodwink the public.

  • KayGee

Yes, do tell, what IS the “Edward Snowden situation”, Twitchy? Is he an American Hero???? or a Communist Traitor??? Should BHO hurry up and gitmo him, or would that be more of his infamous overreach? Should he let him go free? or would that be more of his infamous softness on the “enemies of America” he’s visiting? do tell!

    • NCRelite

the situation appears to be that when it comes to oppressive governments snowden’s crisis of conscience doesn’t extend to other countries

How do you know he ‘spilled his guts’.

  • Ronald Green

How do you know he ‘spilled his guts’? So far, all his gut spilling that we know of, he did right here. Honestly, he didn’t do anything more than verify that the US Gov. has been monitoring everybody’s electronic communications for quite some time and if ‘we’ had been paying attention ‘we’ would have known that. I’ve been knowing that for about 5 years now. The only ‘new’ part of that is how much the Obama administration has expanded it and added to the Patriot Act. Seems liberals don’t mind it so much when they can use it to spy on the rest of us. And before you accuse me of being some bleeding heart liberal too, I would suggest you look at my comment thread.
