Not everything, but if you check recent history you will find that Bush left some very very serious problems in 2009. When you hear the term “recovery” that refers to recovering from an almost total financial meltdown. In October of 2008 President Bush (who I voted for) came on primetime TV to declare a state of economic emergency requiring the Treasury to partially nationalize the banks using $700 billion in taxpayer money. The DOW dropped 5000 points and we were losing 500,000 jobs month. I never saw anything like that in my lifetime. I don’t “blame” Bush per se, but I do think his reckless fiscal policy let us into deep trouble. So the fact is a lot of what we are going through goes back to Bush. That’s not destruction really, most of it is just normal politics.
On Obamacare, that was pretty much on the ballot in November. I like Obamacare I consider it an improvement over the old way not destruction. Just my opinion. I have not seen any results from the IRS hearing that are that disturbing. Benghazi is not a scandal in my book more like four more unfortunate casualties in this long long war on terror. Fast and Furious I understand was an ATF sting operation that went bad. I cut our law enforcement ATF and all some slack on that. That’s a tough dangerous job they have trying to fight those Mexican cartels. Closing GITMO turns out not to be so easy after all. Congress won’t have it, and I think Obama is starting to see how hard it is to find an alternative to GITMO. I’m glad we left Iraq, the exit strategy was to leave. I’m glad we Drone Killed that American citizen working with the enemy, and the spying on US Citizens is not exactly an Obama inventions. Right now things are better than they were in 2008-09 for that I am glad.

We do what we have to do then we figure out numbers. We take care of starving people, disasters, wars, the sick the elderly then we figure out how to get the numbers to fit. All the taxes you mentioned the poor paying are for state and local taxes, not federal (and it is not likely that most of the poor pay property taxes). Even if they paid $1 a month it would be fairer considering that they are getting most of the federal benefits.

Regarding the deficit, that’s a phony claim. The deficit is spending over revenue. The real measure is any reduction in the national debt (which is now at $16.805 TRILLION). The fact is Obama increased the national debt in his first term more than Bush did in two. Don’t assume that Bush doesn’t get blame for what he did, but Obama has added a new entitlement that will further burden all Americans for generations. Moreover, when Congressional Republicans propose cutting budgetary increases (NOT actual decreases to current budgets), Dems and the Left-wing cry that the cuts will kill people, etc., EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE NOT ACTUAL CUTS!

In other words, let’s say the 2014 proposed budget for department X is $10 billion more than 2013 current budget. Then it is proposed to bring it down to an $8 billion increase over 2013. The Left claims these are cuts when all they are are reductions in increases. It’s what is known as baseline budgeting. If the Dems and the Left-wing can’t even allow this, how are we going to get real cuts that we need in the face of national bankruptcy? Are we going to continue to borrow? Do you think China and Japan are going to loan money to us forever, especially when we don’t manage our budget? Where’s the extra money going to come from? If you say, “Let’s just print more money,” do you realize that that causes inflation and make the dollar worth even less?

In the first two months of 2009 we lost over a million jobs. 700.000 in February 2009 I think, In 2008 we lost around 2.3 million jobs. Now I see we are back gaining jobs again. I know unemployment is too high and people are still hurting. But I can also imagine what it would be like if we were still losing millions of jobs instead of gaining jobs again. I see auto sales up, home sales up. So it’s compared to what. Compared to wonderful or compared to how it was four five years ago.

The fact is we are exploring more and producing more domestic oil and gas than ever. We are importing less. Gasoline prices were about where they are now in 2005. Around $3.50. The highest spike ever in gasoline prices came in the summer of 2008 $4.12 a gallon. Gas prices have been a roller coaster for forty years now. But you say we have stopped exploration gas prices doubled, that’s just not correct. Like I said gas price were about like this in 2005 and in 2008 the price per barrel was almost $150 a barrel, now it’s around $100. Whoever is telling you that stuff or where ever you get that stuff, you need to find a more reliable source.

In late 2008 the GDP was all negative, we were losing millions of jobs, lost 500,000 in January 2009 alone, the DOW was down 5000 points, all the big financial firms were going belly up, the biggest banks were insolvent. Lehman Brothers and Merrill failed, the biggest insurance company AIG was bankrupt. In October of 2008 the President of the United States made a special primetime address to the Nation to declare what he called a ‘national economic emergency’ requiring the Treasury to nationalize the top financial firms using $700 Billion in borrowed money. At the time of the economic emergency we were also engaged in two long costly wars that seemed to have no end. To top it off we had taken ourselves from a very comfortable fiscal balance in 2000 with zero deficit and by late 2008 we had doubled the debt from $5 to $10 trillion. The FY2009 budget set in October of 2008 by the previous President projected an astounding $1.2 trillion dollar deficit. When the new President came in January 2009 that was sitting on his desk. An almost complete financial sector collapse, a $700 billion TARP bailout that needed to be administered, half a million jobs a month lost, the GDP totally tanking a $1.3T deficit and two very costly dangerous wars. I don’t know about you, but other that FDR, I don’t recall any new President facing such a crazy array of bad stuff happening.

You are not correct either on the War Powers Act being violated. Congress enforces that War Powers Act. It has to do with properly notifying Congress within 30 days of commencing action for their approval. Congress did not invoke any resolution declaring the War Powers Act that I know of.

Our kids will be driving flying cars and going to virtual schools things we can never imagine.
