Supreme tease: No DOMA, Prop 8 rulings; ‘Is SCOTUS just trolling us at this point?’

The SCOTUS tease continues.

Won’t anyone think of the bloggers?

Does the Supreme Court have a flair for the dramatic or is SCOTUS trolling? Some Twitter users suspect the latter.

Actually, this is kind of fun for us, too.

In case anyone needs a new plan for the next few days:

“We’ve decided to make as many decisions as Congress. See you in 3 years!”

  • Stephen K

I’m expecting a bunch of 6-3 decisions, with Roberts siding with the leftists and dragging Kennedy along with him.

    • GaryTheBrave

So you are saying that DOMA and Prop. 8 will be defeated. Why 6-3? Traditionally split decisions are 5-4. Why would this be different?

      • Stephen K

Because Roberts has thrown in with the left, and he’ll be able to strong-arm the one real swing vote on the court (Kennedy) into siding with him.

I’m not saying I’m happy about it, but that’s the way I see it.

I’m not sure if he has exactly ‘thrown in with the left’ so much as he tries to play politics and do things however stupidly to help the Republican Party like give the House power to defund Obamacare. I don’t agree with it at all because the point of the SCOTUS is to be removed from politics but it is a different situation than him all of a sudden being a leftist.

I’d say Roberts has some tax issues or phone calls he doesn’t want made public rather than shifting ideology.

          • http://extremesplash.wordpress.com/ Ben Bollman

I’d say he is just the typical establishment Republican putting politics above principles.

Wish my work week was only 2-3 days. Sounds like SCOTUS has adopted the EU work model.

But, but, but they are HAAAARD working gub’mint employees; of course they deserve some time off!! /sarc I remember there used to be a time when people who worked for the gub’mint didn’t get paid for it, and the only time they took off was to handle their businesses/farm back in their home states. WTF happened to those guys???

Kagan and Sotomayor are too busy giving Roberts a wedgie to get him to change his mind.

I would pay handsomely to watch this.

I just hope they come up with a way to make both sides of the issue of gay marriage happy or at the very least, content. Whether it be redefining marriage to mean more than just man or woman, but affirming that churches are allowed to refuse homosexual marriages, or not redefining marriage but changing the civil union system to give gay couples the exact same benefits as a married couple.

    • http://www.redstateeclectic.com AngelaTC

Liberals in general, and gay liberals in particular are just never, ever going to be happy people.

      • Damien Johnson

True. We’re here now because they weren’t happy with civil unions in the first place. And the BSA should never have changed their policy, because it wasn’t like they were going around asking kids if they were homosexual in the first place. But now that they did, you see how everybody was all “Allow gay leaders!”, still not happy with what BSA has already done.
