Jeb Bush tells Faith and Freedom audience that ‘immigrants are more fertile’

Speaking at a Faith and Freedom event in Washington, D.C., Senate immigration bill cheerleader Jeb Bush explained that the science is settled: “Immigrants are more fertile.” And apparently that’s why we should pass the amnesty bill.

We need to embrace “comprehensive immigration reform” because … fertility? Remember when Barbara Bush said, “We’ve had enough Bushes“?

Paging PolitiFact: Can we get a ruling on this one? No? Guess we’ll have to go to Matt Yglesias:

  • Richard J Sunkle

If this had been someone opposing amnesty they would be savagely attacked by democrats and RINOs alike.

  • freeinaz

Jeb your no “W”, and he wasn’t very good at the immigration issue either. How hard is it to just enforce the current laws? Maybe if that was actually done we wouldn’t have such an “immigration” problem!

    • Barbarian

Jeb is the personification of what is wrong with the GOP and the Bush family. Remember when Dubya and his minions were telling us we had no feelings?

  • Steve_J

If he doesn’t know the difference between immigrants and illegal aliens he’s not smart enough to be President.

  • sigh

Lib Yglesias defends Jeb. That’s all you need to know.

    • wwbdinct

Yea – all of sudden there all “Bush lovers” (no pun intended……)

  • Clete Torres

Man. The GOP/RINO contingent just can’t help stepping on its own tongue over the immigration issue, can they?

    My kingdom for a Conservative…

  • nc

This morning, the Today Show had a brief story about Hillary Clinton (showing but not mentioning her new, “freshened” look), in the context of her running in 2016. And guess who they showed as her possible GOP opponents? Christie (who appeared at an event WITH her!?), Ryan and Jeb Bush.

So I guess the field is set. Sigh.

    • linnilu

That’s the kind of field that will cause me to stay home.

      • beebop1952

That is what they are counting on.

    • wwbdinct

I didn’t see it but did she get the face lift and botox that I predicted she would get as soon as she stepped down from SOS? I’m sure the lipo on her thunder thighs and cankles will be next.

      • nc
        • wwbdinct

I would have thought she would have gone full out Pelosi! Looks like some Botox on the forehead and some work was done on her jowls. The eyes are in bad shape though. I guess they can’t do that much work all at once!

          • nc

All things considered, she didn’t take it too far, which is a mistake too many sadly make. And she ditched those God-awful glasses, too. So good for her on that score.

But all the “freshening” on the outside can’t freshen up the rot that’s on the inside.

          • wwbdinct

Totally agree with your last statement. Bill and Hill are the reason why I stopped voting (D) after the Lewinsky mess. I’m ashamed to admit that I believed her when she said it was a “vast right wing conspiracy”….. Oops, guess she lied! Took time for me to realize that it wasn’t the first time….

          • nc

I don’t feel guilty that I too used to be a dopey Dem. I couldn’t help it, I was born into it. But like you, Clinton was the last time they got my vote. I thank God for talk radio for opening my eyes.

    • Ben Bollman

Good, let the RINOs run against each other this time and split their votes while we promote an actual conservative.

      • nc

Agreed. We MUST be smarter this time around about who becomes our pick. The primary is everything.

        • Ben Bollman

Exactly, we can’t have 5 Tea Party/conservative candidates running against one moderate. The Tea Party has to get organized and put up one candidate we can all rally around.

  • Ronald

    He is right.

    • TocksNedlog

Your supporting data should prove most illuminating.

      • Ronald

Your countervailing data will be likewise.

  • froggy19510

Enough of the Bush family! Even Babs Bush said that there have been enough of them in office. Just go away. Please!

  • TonyMitch

If you meant to say they breed like rabbits. I get it. You should mention how third worlders view women as a piece of ass that just produce children and have sex as needed.
I am also tired of hearing politicians basically denounce U.S. citizens as lazy non-opportunistic, unintelligent twits. This constant barrage of praise for immigrants without distinquishing illegal from legal is unacceptable. We ahve plenty of U.S. citizens that can do the jobs illegals or any other immigrant can do. They just need the opportunity immigrants receive.
All you politicians are pathetic ass kissing traitors and whores for votes. Votes you will never receive.

    • Paladin

I’d LOVE to pick lettuce at $50.00 per hour. Where do I sign up?

  • Red Fred

Or…maybe they don’t have access to free birth control. Yet.

  • V the K

One thing conservatives, liberals, and moderates can agree on is that we all hate the Republican Party, and the Bush Family is the main reason.

    • Zach Smith

Almost as much as we hate the Democratic Party.

  • T. de Haan

The simple truth of the matter is, the less children YOU have, the more immigrants will come to your country. So I suggest have more children!!

    • Zach Smith

Who’s going to pay to raise them? Should we all just quit our jobs and go on welfare?

  • RblDiver

From Braveheart: “If we cannot drive them out, we’ll breed them out.” Is this what Jeb was implying?

  • PeriMedic

When will Republicans stop being doormats? They got the Civil Rights Act passed, and then most Blacks started voting Democrat. Give the illegals a free pass to enfranchisement, and the majority will vote Democrat. They are working for their own extinction.

  • Eddie Lutz

So make sure you use protection.

  • Richo

But his daddy was wearing pink socks! Can’t we squee about that some more?

  • Chip

Pretty sure “nativist” would be more fertile too if someone else were paying for the food….

  • Jack Deth

Why is Jeb, the lamely well intentioned buffoon allowed anywhere near a microphone?

The media is going to latch onto that soundbite as a club and beat him with it over the weekend. Not that he doesn’t deserve it.

    • operanerd1986

I actually sort of hope that happens, if it means that he will lose any chance of getting the Republican presidential nomination in 2016.

      • Ben Bollman

I’m with you, we need to get rid of these fake conservatives.

  • Squirrel!

Good! Maybe this dumb comment will deter the RNC from him being their guy in 2016.

  • capisce

Those fertility rates will drop when their future party bestows the “reproductive rights” and unfettered access to ”women’s health services” that is denied them in their country of origin’s war on women.

  • linnicy

He is right. The only ppl having babies are Muslims. Look around. they have lots of kids and they are ALL PREGNANT. And, they let their kids scream in the stores. Yikes. And they are all Dems…
Jeb Bush needs to go away, not credible.

    • Wigglesworth

The more babies you have the bigger SNAP allotment you get.

      2 in the household = $367

      5 in the household = $793

  • ChelieinTX

Jeb should not make that face.

  • Texan357

Not really; they just breed indiscriminately. Like bacteria.

    • Red Fred

Don’t breed ’em if you can’t feed ’em.

  • notenoughtime

His comments open up a can of worms regarding our laws on abortion, the eroding of family and values and all the collateral damage that we can point to politicians who lead the charge along with pop culture pundits. Please no more Bush’s; no more Clinton’s; no more RINO’s. We have an illegal immigration problem and the solution is simple – close the border; enforce our laws; and fix the current immigration laws that help the best and brightest come here and not those who start out by breaking our laws.

  • digitalPimple

Going to watch NatGeo to view the more fertile peoples of the world.

  • digitalPimple

Gotta love the DC class try and frame the argument to “immigration”. It has nothing to do with immigration. It’s about illegal immigration and people who decided to just help themselves and couldn’t be bothered like everyone else before them.

  • Rich

I don’t know about being more fertile but when I go to Walmart they seem to have about a 3 month gestation period. Climb the fence, have the kid here and get the free ticket to stay.

  • TocksNedlog

Yglesias is correct; Jeb meant “higher fertility rate”.
Unfortunately, that isn’t what he said; even more unfortunately, he probably doesn’t realize that what he said means something different.

  • beebop1952

    okay. So. Smarter brother? Really?

  • Wigglesworth

If someone at Heritage said that they would be called racist.

  • ELC

Jeb should crawl back into the hole he creeped out of. Please, we know stupidity is a high quality coming out of the Bush family…we don’t need anymore in politics. If he loves immigrants so much, he and his family should put a few to work. In other words do us all a favor Jeb and keep your opinions to yourself.

  • annoyinglittletwerp

Using that logic-my immgrant grandfather should’ve sired a bunch of kids, while my US born in-laws should’ve had only one child-or none. My father was the older of TWO-while my husband is the oldest of FIVE. STFU, Jeb!

  • Zach Smith

Virtually everything he said there is demonstrably incorrect. Why is our political class so stupid?

  • NixTyranny

So, is “immigrants are more fertile” just Jeb Bush-speak for Senhor Testiculo-envy?

  • Ronald Green

    Yep, we’ve had enough Bushes.

  • Zach Smith

I don’t think aliens are any more fertile than Americans, but someone really should teach them where babies come from.
