John Cusack sees ominous parallels between Obama and Nixon

A lot of people have been comparing President Obama to former President Nixon lately, and it’s not just evil Republicans doing the comparing.

Bill Maher seems to be on the same wavelength:

So is Woody Harrelson.

We agree there are some similarities.

But wait. There is one crucial difference.

  • Rationalthinker

Leave it to Miller to =nail it!

  • Tugger – not quite dead yet

I personally could not care less what these a-holes think. They are the ones responsible for putting Obama in office.

    • Susan Emigh

      Truer words were never spoken!

    • Richard

    • Richard

      Two times.

    • ked5

guess the hope and change isn’t working for them.

    • Jeremy

damn right. They act all surprised now and many of us knew what Obama was all about years ago.

    • EastValleyConservative

Agreed but you have to remember that their reach to sheeple still has some power. We aren’t going convince them….

    • is4u2p

No they are not… Dennis Miller never backed Obama and I do not believe Cusack did either.

      • BoltUp

Cusack did support Oblahblah, but with a critical eye. This isn’t the first time he’s broken ranks, so at least he can be honest.

        • is4u2p

Maybe for election but, not for reelection. You can look it up, he has been making these comments since Last September and Dennis Miller was the best Critic during the election. Bill Maher is just useless.

          • AmericanFaith

            Who cares…

  • maria michole

Nixon seems to be a saint compared to what this president is doing…

    • BoltUp

Nixon conspired to cover up the deeds of others. Obummer owns both deeds and cover-ups…

  • John Alvarado

I can’t wait for the Obama Tapes and the enemies list. He probably has a lot of people he hates.

  • Starcutter

I agree with Tugger. Nixon’s domestic policy could be seen as to the left of Obama’s but his foreign policy mirrors Reagan’s. At least Republicans had the gall to call for Nixon to resign; Democrats and liberals simply point to George W. Bush or apologize for Obama’s actions, with few exceptions like John Cusack.

  • dotJenna

Obama reminds me more of Kujo.

  • Robby Gregg

cusack doesn’t like obama from what i can tell

  • Conrad2010

Obama talks out of the side of his mouth at times.
    Wonder why.

    • Spike Bement

That’s just how they talk in Kenya.

  • Humanremains

I see ominous parallels in the people behind all these puppets. Only Obama hides behind the media and his own falsified portrayal of himself. Lies and deceit hiding under government created fear of “terrorism” and propaganda, American media blackouts the truth. We are a country in love with sensationalism, exploitation, greed, entitlement, and narcissism. Obama is not the problem, it’s those who are hidden behind him who are. Those controlling him and controlling our country and her citizens.

    • Garth Haycock

But Obama is a willing participant and therefore, is as much of a problem as those behind the scenes.

      • Humanremains

True, but after Obama will be the next puppet. It matters not the political party or really what they run on these days. It only seems to matter how the public perceives them. Obama is a superhero to most, celebrity to others, they speak of his tight abdomen, what’s on his ipod, and how he says things like “trippin”, they think Obamacare means he cares. He’s hip, he’s cool, he’s “just like us”. Anyone who thinks differently is demonized. It doesn’t matter what happens behind the scenes or right out in the open, for that matter.

        • Humanremains

This is coming from someone who belongs to no political party or religion. I don’t want to seperate myself in any direction. I just observe and come to my own conclusions, and I conclude that Obama is a snake, but he is one of many on top of Medusa’s head.

          • John Smith

So who is Medusa Joshua Dodds?

          • John Thomas “Jack” Ward III

            Either BILLARY ROTTEN, VALERIE JARRETT, OR LOIS LAME LERNER… Just my guess… #RightWard Jawamax 8<{D}

    Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi.

  • ked5

just as thewon makes carter look competent, he makes nixon look like a boy scout.

  • nc

I’ve been hearing a whole lot of “Obama is really much more to the right than we thought” from libbies lately. I think it’s a sign that the scandals are piling up a little too high and they know he is going to have to take the fall at some point. Maybe not impeachment, but whatever form it takes, the CAUSE must not be “tainted” – even by Teh Won. Painting BHO as a closet right-winger kills two birds with one stone for them.

    • Chevypowered

Exactly. Liberal motto has always been. “If our guy/gal effs up it’s because they moved to far to the right.”

  • pinkelephant22

I hate the Nixon/Obama comparison because it’s not fair to Nixon.

  • Robert Jones

Yet they’ll still follow him to the bitter end. When it comes down to it ideological “progress” on the social front means more than Ofailures soft authoritarianism and police state.

  • Zathras11 @B5

To quote Bruce Willis, “Welcome to the party, pal!”

  • teamfrazzled

Liberals need to pretend it is the right in love with big, powerful government and thugs who think getting elected means they get to use the power of government to target their enemies and private citizens. Obama is what he’s always been-a leftwing extremist. This is what they do.

    • wbd

I’ve lived long enough to observe, whatever the liberals accuse
conservatives of, it is not the conservatives that are doing it, it is
the liberals. This is called ‘deflection,’ a.k.a., the blame game.
Obama is a master at it, and it is no wonder that his lemming servants
      do so likewise.

The truth is, liberals neither have the
intellectual capacity nor the morality to compete fairly. They must
spin, deflect, blame, lie, cheat, intimidate, marginalize, and when that
doesn’t work, use ad hominen attacks.

That is why, if we are to
save this country, we do everything we possibly can to bring down this
arrogant tyrant and the democrats who control the Senate. We also need
to rid ourselves (vote out) of the those Republicans who do not
represent nor stand for conservative values (those who constantly side
with the left and betray the people they represent).

  • RowdyRob

wake up and smell the bulls*t for honest politician is an oxymoron!both parties do all they can to stay in power only the rhetoric is different. We may be a federated republic in name only now.

  • Lucid_American

The fall of BHO will be magnificent when it finally occurs…Bill Maher and others like him are going to choke on the sh#t sandwich that is being served up by the left….enjoy every bite

    • R1486

Doubt it. Republicans are still defending everything Bush ever did so why would liberals act any differently? I’m sure all Republicans are glad to see that someone other than a Republican in office is messing things up. Takes the heat off of all the awful Republicans who have been put in the White House. Don’t worry though, you’ll have your crack at it again and you’ll be back in the spot light with another horrible President. Real quick, name me the last Republican who balanced the budget?

      • Lucid_American

I guess we could get into a pissing match about who is better for the economy and who is worse. Republicans (of old) liked business, energy and big military spends. Democrats (non blue dogs) like social programs and big government spends. In short, both parties are screwing and spending the country into oblivion. In the end what is the difference who is elected next. BHO has set the bar so high as the worst President and the bar so low as far as his executive/leadership abilities that just about anyone would be an improvement. .He won’t be remembered for anything good…other than being America’s first black President and that is the high mark for him and the country, Enough said…thanks for posting a reply! :-)

  • Rick Stones

The differences between Nixon and Obama are: 1. Obama’s depth of corruption and arrogant abuse if power is much deeper. And 2. Obama has none of Nixon’s foreign policy accomplishments. In fact, Obama has no accomplishments whatsoever.

    • ked5

he has plenty of accomplishments on his road to destroying this country. (destuction is his goal.)

  • Piper2

The power of the press Has Made their decision To be a lapdog And co-conspirators To an administration Who’s incompetence I would compare to Germany’s Gestapo.

  • NOBO
  • George Murrey

I’ve voted for Nixon, and for people to think that he is a parallel to this pres is way off the mark. At least Pres Nixon had enough dignity to resign, which he shouldn’t have. The dems dogs were way out of line, for a break in? This pres has killed wto border agents in the fast and furious program, and four killed in Benghazi, plus more scandals than his predessor. The Watergate incident, nobody died. Big difference, big difference!

    • grais

I agree except for one thing: saying “for a break in?” is akin to saying “for a blow job?” Nixon was never accused of involvement in the break-in.

The cover-ups are the impeachable offenses, not the break-ins and the blow jobs.

  • IrishColleen

Have always liked Cusack as an actor. I now admire who he is as well.

    • Kate

He may be a lib, but at least he’s consistent in his principles.

“John Cusack sees ominous parallels between Obama and Nixon”

Funny, I don’t ever “see” John Cusack anymore. For many years now.

    • Shane Falco

      “Con Air” reruns on cable?

      • GaryTheBrave

        That was Nick Cage.

        • Shane Falco

Yep – Cage was Poe and Cusack played Larkin.

  • DixieAngel_76

0b0zo makes Nixon look like a choirboy.

  • Trudy Hill

    that was fun

  • Bucky

do we really need the “Hollyweirdos”
    to state the obvious???

  • John (it true me am)

Obama is far worse than Nixon, and I can’t stand the opportunistic trashing of Nixon simply to have someone to compare Obama to by many of my fellow conservatives.. No one died under Nixon’s scandals. The man was brought low because of paranoia, not malice. Obama’s efforts are nothing but malice.

  • Randi Starr

Nixon didn’t sacrifice his own Ambassadors or spy on Civilians, his dirty work was party related.

    • GaryTheBrave

Nixon was raised a Quaker. I believe his upbringing taught him to stand by his friends when the chips are down, even if the friends made mistakes. The Dems and the press piled on so many other “crimes” to make it look bigger.

Essentially Nixon suffered from mission creep. The Dems back then did what Al Qaida (sic) did during the the GWB administration. They kept attacking forcing Nixon to continue to fight against the charges.

so the hollywierd are starting to open their glassy eyes…or are they just sobering up…

Maybe they were drunk off of the Obama Kool-Aid for the last 5 years?

It must be some strong stuff…

    Pick Your Scandal
Violating Americans’ privacy while failing to identify the terrorists among us
All can agree that the Obama administration is mired in myriads of scandals, but as yet no one can quite figure out what they all mean and where they will lead.

So far, we know that the administration’s story that IRS malfeasance was confined to a single regional office cannot be true. If it turns out that Washington IRS officials were communicating with the Obama administration about inordinate scrutiny of political opponents, then the scandal will reach Nixonian proportions.

The problem with the NSA monitoring is not just Obama’s hypocrisy of once decrying elements of the Patriot Act only to embrace them, or indeed expand upon them.

And of course the NSA disclosures do not appear in a vacuum, but amid a multitude of other scandals in which the administration’s initial explanations have proven deceptive. In other words, if even a few cases emerge in which those who by no stretch of the imagination could be suspected of terrorism were monitored, then the NSA disclosures will prove by far the most damaging of all the scandals.

  • NickGranite

Why do lefties act surprised when an all powerful government becomes evil. What did you think a tin pot marxist was going to do when the people revolted in the 2010 mid-term elections? Socialist governments don’t like to take no for an answer.

    • nc

True blue lefties love tin pot Marxists.

  • Mark James

Nixon? I see parallels with Hitler.

  • sodakhic

It’s funny. Libs have never heard of John Cusack.

  • Mark81150

John and Woody are both raving nutjobs, but on the left, so when they bash Obama from the left… It causes lefty’s to ponder the question rather than simply knee jerk defend him and smear the guy asking the question, as they do with us..

No enemies to the left it seems for liberals..

    Just the center and right..

Amazing graphic. Kudos to the artist/graphic designer.
