‘It takes lies’: Lethal abortion injection likened to flu shot in new undercover video from Live Action

The abortion industry’s callous disregard for life is revealed yet again in the latest undercover video released by Live Action. “What is Human?” is the fifth video in Live Action’s “Inhuman: Undercover in America’s Abortion Industry” series.

As the group notes, “it takes lies to get a woman to abort her baby.”

And abortionist Dr. Carmen Landau of Southwest Women’s Options in Albuquerque, New Mexico, has no qualms about brazenly telling those lies to the women who pass through her clinic’s doors.

Abortion doctor Carmen Landau tells the investigator that the injection that will kill her baby is “like any shot, you know, like a flu shot, or a vaccine, really.” Contrary to a large body of evidence, she alleges that babies in the womb do not feel pain or anguish from a poisonous injection, claiming that “it’s not like you and I [sic] where when we get a flu shot, we’re kind of, ‘Ugh!’ – not – that – that – that experience of anxiety and suffering is not – it [the baby]‘s not capable of.”

Victimizing women, ending the lives of babies before they take their first breaths and serving up lies and deception. Watch:

The video also includes quotes from abortionist Leroy Carhart, the late-term abortionist who compared dead babies in the womb to “meat in a crockpot,” and undercover footage of a counselor at the New Mexico clinic who nonchalantly minimizes abortion. “Is it a baby?” the undercover investigator asks. The counselor’s answer boils down to, “That depends on what the definition of ‘is’ is.”

  • V the K

So, I hear liberals say, “Planned Parenthood isn’t really about abortion, it’s about women’s health.”

So, let’s imagine some Jeopardy answers.

“This organization is the largest provider of abortions in the United States.”

“This organization performs, on average, 1,000 abortions per day.”

“This organization has a political arm that strenuously resists any attempts to limit abortion.”

“This organization locates most of their clinics in minority neighborhoods.”

But lefties still claim its unfair to associate Planned Parenthood with abortion.

    • http://twitter.com/thetugboatphil TugboatPhil

Control the language and you control the people.

    • Bathing Suit Area

Just like we can’t associate the country’s most popular murder weapon, used for many murders daily, disproportionately used against minorities, with anything but super fun freedom times.

      • thetawake

Yet somehow you missed the statistics on how many lives are saved because of guns. Abortion doctors, radical islamic terrorists, serial killers..same same.

      • Lady 12

        Apples and oranges.

      • ObamaFail

And yet all shooters from the last few years are registered Democrats. But let’s not mention that, because that would paint them as violent people.

        • Ronald

Did any of these people have ‘democratic’ reasons for doing what they did? I’m interested to know if their held political views motivated them.

What’s sad about the graphic is that it seems to rail against the idea of classifying all right wing folks as potential killers, but then it does the same thing by saying people should be worried about liberals. The hypocrisy undermines the message.

One example of a right wing berserker was this guy who a few years ago went bankrupt, and when they came to take his home, he was ready with a home made tank. Blood and chaos.

          • Ronald

Hmm. So people of all kinds of ideologies are capable of madness? That’s fair-minded of you to point out. Thx.

      • Gary Norton

And just like the abortion industry, the anti-gun crazies need to resort to lies as well.

        • Jeremy

          yeah they operate the same.

      • Richard Jefferies

Used criminally by a disproportionate number of minorities too, oh, does that not factor into your talking points?

      • J.N. Ashby

Used against minorities BY other minorities….and I don’t see a call for the most popular shooting weapon, the hand gun, to be banned.

    • Stephanie Warren

I don’t understand how killing a baby is “women’s health”.

  • thetawake

Sick….so many so mentally corrupt…abortion is murder…who cares when life begins, life ends at abortion.

    • Bathing Suit Area

There are people who will die because nobody will give them a kidney. If you haven’t donated one, aren’t you just as much a murderer?

      • trixiewoobeans

So someone deliberately killed their kidney, and wants one from me????????????

        • Bathing Suit Area

No, through no fault of their own, some people’s kidneys don’t work. You could keep one of them alive, but apparently you haven’t because your convenience is more important than their lives.

          • trixiewoobeans

            Stay on topic B.S.

          • Bathing Suit Area

The topic being whether someone is obligated to let another use their body to stay alive…

          • trixiewoobeans

Are you for reals???? Who bankrolled the new swarm of trolls?

          • Bathing Suit Area

            Very for reals!

Should we force a person, against their will, to go through with a serious medical process (such as carrying a pregnancy and giving birth, or donating a kidney), risking any complications, in order to save another person’s life?

          • 3seven77

So, they didn’t use their own “will” in deciding whether or not to have sex? You’re telling us that women are just a bunch of bubbleheaded bimbos whose “wills” are at the mercy of oh, I don’t know… the direction of the wind maybe??
And don’t even try to bring rape into this because the MAJORITY of abortions are sought by women who **decided** – Yes, DECIDED – of their own free “will” to have sex.

          • Bathing Suit Area

Deciding to have sex is not the same as deciding to give birth.

          • Dee M.

Well, it’s really quite elementary, my dear “bathing suit area.” If you don’t want to end up like a squished bug, don’t jump in front of a semi. If you don’t want to end up pregnant either don’t have sex or use birth control. And abortion is NOT birth control. It’s murder. Plain and simple…murder. .

          • Bathing Suit Area

People who look where they’re going can still get hit by trucks, and people who use birth control still sometimes have it fail. Sex is no more consent to pregnancy than walking down the street is consent to having an out of control truck mow you down.

          • 3seven77

So if you want to have sex and don’t want to get pregnant (because one causes the other) there is a very effective way to prevent it. It’s called an ovariohysterectomy.

      • ThatConfused1

A human child gestating is not the same as a kidney. You were a fetus once, are you saying it was morally imperative that your spine should have been snipped when you were still a fetus instead of being allowed to become an adult just to save the life of another human being?

        • Bathing Suit Area

A gestating foetus is much like a person who needs a kidney, though. Giving birth, much like donating a kidney, is a risky and selfless act, which should be commended. I’m very grateful that somebody did that for me (thanks, ma!), much as a recipient of a transplant would be grateful to a donor. But that doesn’t mean that I think we should ever force someone to go through with it if they’re not willing.

          • ThatConfused1

You are insane. You really don’t know where most organs are collected from or why the DMV asks if you’d want to be an organ donor when you renew your DL?

      • Guest

Unless you personally have dealt with ESRD (I have by the way), don’t make jokes or compare donating an organ to abortion. Also, have you been a participant in a domino kidney transplant or offered to be tested and donate to an unknown recipient? If not then be quiet.

        • Bathing Suit Area

I haven’t donated a kidney, but I’m not the one claiming that refusing to let someone else use your internal organs is murder.

        • Bathing Suit Area

I was comparing abortion to NOT donating an organ.

        • Ronald

You’ve missed the point of what BSA was saying. He’s talking about rights and I agree with him. The rights of the mother supersede the rights of the fetus.

          • ThatConfused1

So you should have no rights and not be here talking to us then if your mother’s rights supersedes yours?

          • Bathing Suit Area

Fortunately my mother chose to have me. CHOSE. Wasn’t forced.

          • Bretzysdude

Too bad it was the wrong choice.

          • ThatConfused1

Your mother made the choice to have unprotected sexual actions to conceive. But if you’re so pro-abortion then do the world a favor and become sterile that way no child is conceived with whatever partner of the opposite sex you have fun with since you seem to be so pro-abortion but might not be willing to keep it in the pants.

          • Ronald

That’s exactly right. I had no right to force my mother to carry me to term. That was her choice and her right.

          • ThatConfused1

Wrong. It was a choice of your two parents to conceive a child. The parent’s right over the child is not considered a natural right by any writings on the matter. It is considered a selfish act to butcher a future generation of the genes. Then again if you’re so pro abortion, guess the genetical meme will carry over and lead to your pro-abortion group’s eventual extinction by patience and time alone.

          • Ronald

Genes and memes are two different things. But I like that you are using Richard Dawkin’s ideas… that’s a good step.

          • ThatConfused1

Hardly two different things especially when memes of a culture can cultivate genetic outcomes and how genetic desired traits dictate cultural memes. A Progressive take on why humanity should be culled as you’re the useful idiot dancin along to such a plan ignorant of what would be in store for you. My family’s survived Stalin, Hitler and Mao, it’ll survive you morons.

  • Elaine

That TRUTH is so difficult to watch. No wonder liberals don’t want pro life advocates to SHOW IT! If it’s that bad to watch.. what does that tell you about the procedure? It’s killing a human baby, period! They have more compassion for a baby seal.

    • Catchance

They have more compassion for ANY animal… even a spider warrants more compassion than a human baby.

      • Bathing Suit Area

Name a liberal who has insisted you let a spider live inside your body. Name one.

        • Ryan Schneider.

There was an apartment complex out east, near Michigan, that had a bad cockroache problem. No matter how many time they sprayed, they would always spring up quickly, worse then before. The residents found out that one odd recluse that nobody ever saw had been refusing the orkin man access to his room on religious grounds, refusing to harm any creatures. He had actually been feeding the vermin, protecting them! Several families got together and refused to pay more rent unless he was evicted. He in turn called an ACLU lawyer, and threatened to sue the landlord on discrimination if evicted. So the families were evicted instead! Incidentally, several small children were getting roaches in their mouths daily, so it can be said that a liberal was requiring people to have bugs in their bodies!

          • Bathing Suit Area

That actually sounds like an interesting case. Link?

          • Ryan Schneider.

It was on an episode of Animal Planet’s “infested”. I forget the exact episode, they delt with roaches not then once.

          • Ryan Schneider.

            MORE then once.

          • Ronald

Wow. That man could just as easily been Buddhist as liberal. Highly doubtful that his political leanings were behind his decision making regarding bugs.

          • Ryan Schneider.

I was referring to the lawyer.

          • Ronald

Well, you know what they say about lawyers.

          • Ryan Schneider.

This nut should be locked in the same cell as Renfeld with a bowl of bugs so they could kill each other. Dracula can watch.,

        • ThatConfused1

You have a very weak grasp on logic, don’t you?

          • Bathing Suit Area

That’s what you’re asking for fetuses, and you claim that we’re treating spiders better.

          • Bretzysdude

            In PETA’s eyes, yes.

          • ThatConfused1

A human fetus is a child to be born, a spider is nothing more than another species that earns no empathy from me. My own species > other species. Sorry, but you should be left in the middle of the African wilderness and to deal with the wild life, especially the insects. My empathy only goes so far when dealing with clearly idiotic lots of the species.

    • Bathing Suit Area

Have you ever watched a heart bypass? It’s pretty gross and very unpleasant to watch. Guess we should ban them.

      • ThatConfused1

Triple Heart Bypass is rather neat and interesting, not gross, as it’s a process of saving a life. So I don’t know why you compare that to the act of killing life.

  • John Thomas “Jack” Ward III

    The biggest lie Abortionists tell is, “Your baby/fetus is like a disease…” THAT IS DISGUSTING, Telling any Lie, using any excuse/rationalization to kill the innocent unborn….I suggest we take a page from Glenn Beck, and create the HOTTEST HELL POSSIBLE for people like this! Including #Gosnell! #RightWard Jawamax 8<{D}

    • Michael Anderson

We don’t have to, hell is taken care of. We need to change the laws to protect the unborn. We need to provide an alternative to infanticide.

    • Bathing Suit Area

Nobody has ever said that, you’re just making things up.

      • AMSilver

So saying that a baby is a clump of tissue, just like a tumor is not saying your fetus is like a disease? ’cause I’ve heard that one before.

        • Squirrel!

Even in this post it says they said they will then remove the pregnancy. THAT statement really bothered me.

      • eick74

The abortion doctor compared the shot that kills the baby/fetus to a flu shot, it can be implied that the doctor was comparing the baby/fetus to the flu.

      • ObamaFail

BARACK OBAMA said that a baby is a punishment. And he would never punish his daughters with a baby. Abortionists have called them a “pre-existing condition”, and invaders. But abortionists care more about slaughter of innocent children then fact.

        • 3seven77

Remember that sad excuse for a human being, that woman that tweeted her abortion? Tweeted how she got rid of the “parasite”? Yeah, they compare babies to diseases.

          • Ryan Schneider.

Murder is much easier when you dehumanize the victim, or or yourself.

        • K-Gal

Abortionists DO NOT care more about slaughter than fact. What an ignorant statement. ABORTIONISTS ARE HERE TO PROVIDE AN OPTION TO WOMEN!! They are realists and are compassionate to the fact they understand that women seeking the abortions are not ready (for whatever reason, mentally, financially, emotionally, physically) to bring a life into the world. Bringing a baby that is NOT WANTED into the world…should be one of life’s greatest sins!

          • Dee M.

Oh, but that’s where you are wrong. Those babies ARE wanted, just not by their mothers!! Do you have any idea how many people are desperate to adopt a baby? If the mothers would be selfless instead of selfish, most of those babies would have good lives surrounded by people who love them.

          • K-Gal

Then why are all orphanages overflowing? The supply, FAR outnumbers the demand. More than 83,000 abortions were performed in New York City alone in 2010!! You honestly believe that there are 83,000 people in new york that are looking for babies no one else wants? Life isn’t a fair tale. This is the harsh reality.

There are TOO many babies and children waiting for someone to step in an give them a quality of life that includes love and support. In the mean time these parent-less children are just expected to wait in an inhumane twilight zone like little puppies in a shop window? You have to be sick to consider that a better outcome. Can you just imagine for one second being a young child and not understanding why you don’t have a family and are unconditionally loved too? This situation will affect that poor child their whole life, even if someone does step in and adopt. They will always wonder what was wrong with them that their mother abandoned them. This will stay with them a lifetime and they will likely require counseling.

          • Ryan Schneider.

I see “Population bomb” is high on your list of favorite books. I read it, for, as Tsun Sung taut in his “Art of War”: “know your enemy”. If you would like to know us better, I would recommend “Euginics and Other Evils.” Read it, and let us do battle as only controversialistscan!

Planned Parenthood and all of it’s supporters are racists. If libs can accuse us of racism just because we don’t kiss Obama’s feet as he screws us over, than I can label all pro-murder zealots racists because they see this Margaret Sanger as some kind of saint.

Follow the liberal progresssion – unless we repeal the Affordable Death Panel Act,
how much easier to convince a no judgements, morally corrupt society, that it’s kinder to give the 75 year old a “flu-shot like” injection instead of waking up with that bothersome hip every day. After all, at that age, they dont feel a thing.

And these are the same people holding candlelight vigils when murderous scum are to receive their injection. In that instance, the illogical argument is that we should not be the arbiters of who lives and dies.

You can appeal to a private insurance carrier. But you can’t appeal to a government death panel. Ask Katherine Sebelilus.

    • ObamaFail

I have an Aunt who used to be super-feminist, running around screaming about how abortion isn’t a bad thing and that it’s her right to do whatever she wants. After she got an abortion, she was never the same. She became an alcoholic and has been in rehab 5 times in the last 10 years. Although, not all pro-abortion zealots have a soul. Some of them get multiple abortions and don’t lose a wink of sleep about it.
I’m not saying abortion caused my aunt to drink. But once she had the abortion and realized what she had done to her first child, she instantly regretted it. That regret turned to guilt, and that guilt turned to alcoholism.

      • Bathing Suit Area

“I’m not saying abortion caused my aunt to drink. ”

Yes you are, that’s exactly what you spend the rest of the paragraph saying!

        • Ryan Schneider.

You’re right, he is trying too hard to sound unbiased. Impossibility on this case.

      • K-Gal

“Pro-abortion Zealots”? Really? Just because someone has an abortion (or multiples) doesn’t mean they don’t have a soul. What an uneducated and ignorant thing to say. I suppose we should still hang people who believe in witchcraft then as well.

Abortions affect everyone differently and no one ever forgets the experience. Abortion is simply a choice to women in need. We should celebrate the fact that women have a VOICE and a CHOICE in this matter. It’s THEIR life, not yours, only they know the best option for themselves. From past experience in my immediate family, alcoholics tend to be weaker individuals from the get go as they need alcohol to help them deal with life in general. Can you imagine how much she would have fallen apart if she was expected to keep the baby and the plethora of responsibilities that come with it. It would have been an utter shame for that baby to be raised in the home of an alcoholic.

        • Ryan Schneider.

I agree that more people need to be informed to make better choices. People need to be informed, for example, about TELEMOKOS, and what he might do if they anger his clients.

        • NRPax

If it’s THEIR life and THEIR choice and THEIR voice, why do we have to fund it? You want funding for someone’s private life, we get a voice in it. Don’t like it? Not my problem.

    • Ryan Schneider.

Except for sociopaths like Gossnell, who remind me of Herman Midget and his murder factory.

    • Ryan Schneider.

      Mudget, I mean.

  • Steve_J

The abortionists definition of a flu shot is a bit different than mine.

    • ObamaFail

Their definition of life is different from mine.

    • Bathing Suit Area

Funny that these groups trying to expose how horrible abortionists are never give full quotes with context right away.

Perhaps they were just giving examples of injections that everyone has likely had and is familiar with?

      • K-Gal

EXACTLY!! They are trying to put the pregnant woman at ease in a very difficult and emotional time. They are relating the sensation of the needle to something she can relate to. Abortion medical professionals are trained and educated. They have a very difficult (and controversial- according to all theses Zealots on here) job that most of us could not handle day to day. Give them a break, they are people too and are there to provide answers and support to women in a very difficult time. No one gets pregnant just to experience an abortion. But thankfully there are options for those that can not facilitate a baby, financially or emotionally.

        • Ryan Schneider.

I agree that many are human, and struggle to dehumanize some, while overhumanizing others, rather then treat them all as equals, as they deserve, for better or worse. But Gossnell proves that some are scociopaths that use desperate women to get their sadistic jollies off. Gossnell is a homicidal maniac who can be a villan and smile.

saline is just salt and water. Anybody can drink that, some people even enjoy salty water. What is the point you are trying to make and what does saline have in common with the drug they use to stop a heart?

      • http://whatandever.blogspot.com/ Osumashi Kinyobe

I don’t know anyone who would willingly drink heavily salted water.

And, yes, over-salinisation can kill you. These solutions used to kill children this way scald them. Look it up.

    • Ryan Schneider.

A better comparison would be to go swimming in the dead sea and then drink the water. These babies basically die of a massive sodium overdose, including ruptured kidneys and massive thirst.

      • http://whatandever.blogspot.com/ Osumashi Kinyobe

And yet it’s touted as a “flu shot”.

As I said, have these guys drink a saline solution themselves.

  • K-Gal

Victimizing women?!? Come on! I’m pretty sure ANY woman going in to an abortion clinic is clear what the outcome would be. Nobody goes to ask about prenatal vitamins or midwife references. The women are not being “Victimized” this is being “Over-dramatized” Not everyone is in a position to welcome an unplanned pregnancy into the world. Let’s be grateful that in this day and age Women at least have a CHOICE.

    • NRPax

There are ways to prevent unplanned pregnancy. Not having sex is known to be the most effective one.

      • K-Gal

WOW, you realize it’s 2013 right? This comment would have more value back in the 1950’s. Today’s generation has a totally different view on sexual relations than the generation before them. You can’t stop the sexual nature of our culture…you can only EDUCATE and provide people with OPTIONS in the event they do make a mistake or a lapse in judgement. (I won’t even touch on the necessity that pro choice offers in rape cases or where women are forced to become broodmares for whatever reason- usually religion)

        • Ryan Schneider.

As Doctor Who once said, “Progress is a rather slippery word, it can mean almost anything you want it to.” Progress once had a fairly fixed definition, before the modern habit of muddling words became a national hobby. It meant something like this: that which keeps the best of what was, and the best of what is, and the best of what will be, combines them, then discards the worst in all. Figuring out what is best, and worst requires a little more introspection and hard thinking then a blanket statement: “…that was, like, totally the ’50s and totally ancient history.”, and similar dismissals.

        • NRPax

*snicker* Of course. Your generation is the one that discovered recreational sex. I forgot.

You can’t stop the sexual nature of our culture.

So women are helpless little creatures and can’t help getting pregnant accidentally? Noted.
And your “broodmare” remark was even more adorable. I guess when women don’t make choices you approve of, it’s wrong.

Come on! I’m pretty sure ANY woman going in to an abortion clinic is clear what the outcome would be.

Then what is your response to the women who go through this and then deal with guilt and psychological issues not unlike PTSD? Were they just “not clear enough”?

  • OLLPOH # UnBanHana!!!!!!!

Something wrong with this picture, don’t you all think?

    • Bathing Suit Area

I’m pretty sure there’s no law requiring you to let any of those creatures live inside your body.

    • K-Gal

Yes, there is EVERYTHING wrong with this picture. This is a completely unfair comparison! You’d have to be ignorant to buy into this. Animals don’t have to worry about rape and finding money to support a baby. They don’t have jobs that will be lost or dreams of schools that never be fulfilled, or lives that will be shattered. NOT to mention the silly little fact that all the animals here made the ENDANGERED species list…and trust me…HUMANS will never be on the endangered species list. We are overpopulated as it is and there are millions of orphanages and child care facilities that are brimming with children that are not wanted. This picture is the stupidest “Pro life” propaganda I have seen yet on this page.

      • Ryan Schneider.

It is rather dumb. Animals that eat their young are not spiritually culpable for blind instinct. Humans alone are capable of the unique sensations of supreme guilt, or malicious indifference, of penitence and forgiveness of the most grievous cimes, or pursuit of the most unforgiving vengeance to the ends of the earth, hatred undying, or love eternal, to be saints or devils, and all the shades of mediocrity in between. Indeed, no beast can be compared to the wonder that is a human.

  • savarulz

Makes me sick, as my wife and I are not able to conceive, due to health issues, they just murder babies like it’s nothing. The bible says you reap what you sow.

    • K-Gal

Have you considered rescuing (some prefer the term adopting) a baby that was birthed from a mother that did not want the child? For every abortion, there are also hundreds of women who “discard live babies” because they are not ready for parenthood themselves? I think it’s crueler to abandon a life after birth than to make a realist decision about something that doesn’t exist in life yet. If you are truly “pro-life” and in a position of wanting children, but can’t have them….I’m sure you will take it upon yourself and raise a child that was “saved” from abortion. Talk about a double standard. Pro lifers don’t want abortions but what the hell does society do with all the poor little souls who are not wanted? That is the real shame in this issue.

      • Ryan Schneider.

What did he say that implies that he would not adopt??? He was simply being focused and pithy (unlike me ) about the main topic.

  • Viiit

    Abortion is nobody’s business.
It is not “conservative” to have government in woman’s womb.
Additionally this article is ugly propaganda, they are showing pictures of fully formed fetus, but the truth is that overwhelming majority of abortions are of 7-8 week old fetuses smaller than 1/4 inch.
Only an idiot or hypocrite cannot see the difference between a born breathing baby and a barely differentiated clot of cells.

Stop harping on abortion so that we can get support for more important things:
Balanced budged, strong national defense, clear posture towards Islamic encroachment on our freedoms, border security, and other issues of national importance. Keep your moral judgments for your self, don’t enforce your morality on others, and don’t let anyone else impose theirs on you.

    • trixiewoobeans

It’s my business when I have to pay for it!

    • http://whatandever.blogspot.com/ Osumashi Kinyobe

You’re forcing your opinions on me by posting here. Hmmm….

Just kidding. I’m an adult who can reason, offer opinions and parse through total pig crap, like your post.

      • K-Gal

You are being ridiculous (or ignorant) if you think Viiit is forcing his opinion on you or others. It is his OPINION and he is allowed to make it, just like you are. This is an open forum and all views are welcome. You being closed minded and writing his article off as “pig crap” shows your uneducated or closed mined…maybe both. I happen to think your comments are a load of crap, but as a mature adult, I take what you say, try to understand where you are coming from (I’m assuming you are religious as well, which goes hand in hand with the closed minded comment) but I value what YOU believe is your opinion on here. No one is posting “pig crap”, they are just different views, thus the point of a forum. I feel sorry for the world you live in that you feel you need to judge others.

        • Ryan Schneider.

Primal issues are a bit hard to not get emotional over. I would love to break the jaw of the doctor who insisted my mom terminate me. I’d probably break my fist on his metal endo skeleton, however.

    • K-Gal

I agree with your comment, there are so many more profound and practical issues that this pales in comparison. Abortion is a personal choice for a woman and options exist to help her best deal with it as she sees fit….END OF STORY. Lets move on to world peace…..

      • NRPax

I’d prefer not to sacrifice children for world peace even if it was obtainable in real life.

    • Ryan Schneider.

Those who are unwilling to draw a line in the sand on the most primal of moral issues, will likely end up with a line drawn across their throats by those who draw no lines anywhere.
