Photos: Sing for Hope places 88 pianos around NYC for public use

The Sing for Hope pianos have returned to New York City. Starting today, 88 decorated pianos in parks and other public spaces will be available for public use.

Support for the Sing for Hope installation is provided by Chobani Yogurt.

Driven by the vision of “Art for All,” The Sing for Hope Pianos project selects artists from across the city to customize their own unique piano; thus creating an amazing public art installation across New York.  88 pianos, representing the 88 keys, will be placed throughout the 5 boroughs of New York City from June 1st-16th.

The pianos are customized by volunteer artists who donate their time to the project.

Photos of the pianos (and a couple of young pianists) are already making the rounds on Twitter.
