#LynchMob: Dem. Rep. Lynch smacks down lying liar Douglas Shulman

And how!

Massachusetts Democrat Stephen Lynch pulled no punches this morning in his questioning of former IRS commissioner Douglas Shulman. Shulman twisted and squirmed, but Lynch only tightened his grip:

Bam!

Good. He should be. What the IRS did is criminal.

Citizens were enthralled — and grateful to Rep. Lynch for refusing to let Shulman off the hook:

Indeed. This is what oversight looks like. And it’s glorious to behold.

props to Lynch for going Boss on Shulman, echoing a weird yet nice feeling of respect

    • conservativechick

OOPS! You DO KNOW that Shulman, the Bush appointee, is a Democrat and donates to Democrats. How dare Bush be bi-partisan! hahaha It’s what you losers always say you want, right?

Republicans thirst for death. How can they forget the simple lessons about Democrats: reach across the aisle, they’ll break your arm; walk across the aisle, they’ll break your leg. Bush might as well have put a poison pill in place.

  • Clayton Grant

I could not turn away from the questioning and testimony. Shulman should be one of the first to be charged. He should NOT be the last.

  • CHHR

man, I missed it, had to take a call… is there a video, I want to add this one to my library as a first since obama took office… and to think honest oversight and real bipartisan effort can really happen… truly a moment to behold!

  • Steve

I wonder how many pounds in sweat Schulman lost!

  • Jennifer

I had written this on another thread, but did anyone see how indignant he got when questioned about his political affiliations? Ah, the irony! I understand that when the hearings resume he will be asked for hard copies of his Facebook posts.

  • grais

Cummings slammed him earlier for the same thing, albeit a bit more quietly. But he went on about it for a long time.
    Shulman is a Mess.

  • rinodino

Yep he did take that bush appointee to task

    • therantinggeek

What exactly are you trying to say here? Shulman may have been a Bush appointee, but he donated to the DNC back in 2004.

And visited the Obama White House 118 times in 102 weeks.

    • rivers

I remember Bush, he was President about five years ago, before any of this started. How dare he do something bi-partisan like appoint someone from across the aisle, an on the record DNC donor. He should have known that under the Obama administration this appointee would pull crap like this.Let’s impeach him.

      Squirrel!

what of it he should have been roasted.

Bwahahahaha — y’all are too stupid to even realize that Bush making an IRS appointment in a non-partisan manner (i.e., he didn’t care that Shulman was a Dem — even donating to Dem candidates during elections) to a BUREAUCRATIC job doesn’t erase the fact that this all happened — the unconstitutional targeting of American citizens on political speech grounds by the IRS — under Obama.

No wonder you morons support Obama — you literally can’t tell your *ss from a hole in the ground.

  • DizzyMissL

I wonder if any of these folks will come forward and talk once they realize the admin is not going to come to their rescue.

    • detroit19

I pray every night for an ‘honest’ man/woman to come forward and save their own skin.

The Democrats on the committee’s might be barking. It remains to be seen if they will bite (odds are against that).

Imagine the shock when the IRS is asked to audit a Democrat!

      • MyrmidoNOT

Better yet, imagine the shock when they have
to ‘audit’ THEIR union-rep who set-’em-up!?!
(Assuming the trial ends ‘favorably’…) 😉

I’m thinking there must have been some polling on the issue done since last week & the Dems are starting to realize they better get their act together & go after these putzes instead of protecting them. Seeing what the journalistos have been saying today, it looks like the marching orders are for Dems to “act outraged” about this (to please voters), let Kathryn Ruemmler & Lois Lerner take the fall, plus maybe put in some new policies everyone can ignore and then dismiss the scandal as “over.” The IRS has to get ready to enforce Obamacare, so the quicker they can wrap this up, the better.

      • pickle

No. Since Lynch lost the special election here in MA (he really was screwed over by the MA Dems since they are backing Markey), he’s free to speak his true mind. He’s an old fashioned Dem. Steel Worker who rose up the ranks. He’s one of the few that knows what it’s like to work for a living.

        • Angie

I stand corrected — he’s on of the Dems from the days when they loved this country too.

  • Flyoverman

I say this as a conservative and with respect. Lynch is the Democrat your grandparents voted for. We may have had dirferences on our approach to things, but they had integrity and they were patriots. They were nothing like most Democrats today.

    • twolaneflash

No, the Democrats of my grandparent’s day were hateful, racist bigots with leaders like KKK Grand Kleagle Robert Byrd. They were as dirty scum politicians as ever walked the earth.

  • Jaynie59

Oh, brother. Shulman is a Bush appointee. Of COURSE a Democrat would go after him even though Douglas Shulman also happens to BE A DEMOCRAT. The fact that he also happens to be a Democrat doesn’t matter. He was appointed by Bush so therefore it’s all the Republicans fault. And Shulman will retire with his big fat government pension and get a cushy job with some progressive outfit for being a good little patsy.

    • vetgal1970

Your statement mirrors my suspicions. I have been asking myself “Where is this representative’s outrage towards the CURRENT IRS commissioner Miller?”. Wasn’t it Miller who recently sat in front of congress and purposefully omitted the IG findings from his own testimony, even as they were planning the planted leak that occurred just days later? Where is the outrage for Lerner who is guilty of the same? Falling back on the “Nobody asked” excuse is appalling, their job is to REPORT things like this, whether they are asked or not.

We know what happens when baseball players ‘lie’ to congress, but what about political appointees and bureaucrats? Their lies are obvious, documented and continual, all on public record. So why are we still asking? CHARGE them and they will start telling what we want to know.

      • Jaynie59

Every pundit, blogger, and writer on the Right should point out that Shulman is a DEMOCRAT. But they won’t.
By the way, Lynch wants a Senate seat in Mass big time but he’s low on the Democrat machine rung. His grandstanding against a Bush appointee he knows won’t pay any price in progressive circles but will be the willing fall guy is probably Lynch’s way of kissing butt when Kerry’s seat comes up for re-election. Markey got Teddy’s.

Edited to add: I mixed up the Senate seats. Lizzie Warren won Teddy’s seat so that won’t come up for 6 years. Markey will win Kerry’s seat so it will be pretty much impossible for Lynch to get in unless one of them dies or resigns. Maybe he wants to run for governor or something.

Don’t get too excited about Democrats going strong after the IRS. They reason that they help Republicans blow it up, hang it on Shulman, then the lapdog media will go non-stop with the mantra that BUSH appointed SHULMAN. It’s all Bush’s fault, Republicans’ fault, and it will go downhill from there for taxpayers and conservatives.
