Report: IRS flagged groups involved in ‘educating on the Constitution and Bill of Rights’

As Twitchy reported, the IRS’ apology for targeting conservative groups like the Tea Party Patriots for aggressive investigation just happened to emerge only days before an inspector general’s report is expected to be released, giving the results of a year-long investigation into the agency.

Portions of a draft of that report issued to Congressional aides have made it into the hands of the Associated Press and suggest an even bigger scandal. Not only were words like “tea party” and “patriot” flagged — the AP reports that agents were directed to flag groups “involved in limiting/expanding Government” and “educating on the Constitution and Bill of Rights.” That leaves public schools out, but really?

Obama? No, but somebody’s going under the bus for this one.

    The terrorists have won.

(not Al Qaeda, the Democrat Party)

    • http://www.twitter.com/blisstabitha Tabitha

Yep it’s looking that way & I do keep telling them they need to rebrand themselves as “the terrorist party”. Aligns with their values much better than ‘Democratic’

      • Ntr

Agreed. Although, given the Democratic party’s ‘triple-K’ history, targeting and terrorizing certain groups is in their blood.

Good grief! This is the Baractopus Administration. It’s tentacles are everywhere, picking your pockets, meddling in your healthcare, sidelining your religion, siccing the IRS on you, silencing the media, etc. etc.

Love “Baractopus!” Friggin’ hilarious if it wasn’t so true!

      Brainwashing your children…

    • Guest

I would say that Obama has brainwashed the media as if they are under some voodoo spell. Back in the day, this story would have made the press go nuts but they are under his spell…willingly!

One of the best things we can do for ourselves as a nation is toss the current tax code in favor of the Fair Tax and get rid of this power abusing agency. What kind of moronic people would tax the fruits of their own labor and thereby discourage both hard work and saving instead of using a consumption based tax anyway? Oh wait, if we did that it would mean the takers in society might not have a public stage as often to whine about those who earn more and means depriving power hungry politicians of a means to buy votes by encouraging people to covet that which belongs to their neighbor instead of encouraging them to go for it and earn it themselves.

  • bdwatcher

Take all these together: voter fraud, influence peddling, Constitutional violations, foreign influence, foreign doners, dereliction of duty, 1st amendment rights violations, now IRS and Benghazi is icing on the cake, All of these together show treason.

    • nc

Well, if you’ve gonna get all logical about it…

      • David

Facts simply confuse democrats and most of the so-called press.

  • Guest

Well now it makes perfect sense, since the IRS isn’t part of the Constitution.

  • peteee363

ok, dumb question, but when is the congress going to finally bring up articles of impeachement?

    • https://twitter.com/Captain_Cy_kun Cy

Never. You’re crazy if you think any of this is gonna stick to Obama, or anyone even close to him.

    • nc

      Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha…..what?

    • Infinite_Indeterminism

      Dumb question back:

Conviction in the Senate requires two-thirds majority. Do you think that’s likely ?

      • peteee363

after hearing about run away max, i think it might. not that i am looking forward to a president biden. but, are you suggesting the house not do it’s job, because of the pantywaists in the senate?

        • Infinite_Indeterminism

Their job is not to posture, but to do constructive things, like downsizing spending, making sure the various inspectors and auditors do THEIR job (and collecting evidence on those that don’t), making sure that only sensible laws pass the House, …

Sure, they could impeach – and lay the foundation for a worse circus than what the media made of the Clinton impeachment.

I should perhaps point out here, that impeachments and removals have no impact on any other legal procedures later – so from that angle, there is no reason why they MUST impeach. Certainly, the demolition of the republic must be stopped, but that’s a wider field than just stopping the fumbler-in-chief.

          • http://www.black-and-right.com/ IceColdTroll

Their job is to do what the Constitution and their oaths of office demand, it is not “posturing.”

          • Infinite_Indeterminism

With the current senate and what the media would do, it’s much closer to “posturing” than to anything effective…

Don’t confuse tactics with strategy – I’d like all the bastards put behind bars, but I realize that in the current situation, that’s not going to happen. So, I aim for useful steps in the right direction (such as getting Ted Cruz elected – if only we could clone him!).
(To dispel misunderstandings, I’m not claiming to have had a hand in getting him elected, but his election is an example of such steps I’m talking about…)

My prediction: Someone high up but totally expendable in the IRS gets the blame for this, is fired, maybe serves a year in a minimum security jail and the IRS goes on business as usual. I have no faith that an Obama government isn’t gonna do everything it can to shield the IRS from any serious repercussion.

    • CatHerder

You were going good until the jail part. Substitute ‘gets a lateral transfer to a better-paying position’.

      • https://twitter.com/Captain_Cy_kun Cy

Yeah the jail bit was probably too hopeful.

      • nc

Agreed, plus I’m not too sure about the “Someone high up” part either. More like a mid-level no-name that would be easier to scapegoat and forget.

    • Guest

People can get fired from their government job?

      • David

Only if they are caught molesting children while at work. Well, on second thought, maybe not.

      • Vennoye

Unfortunately for Obie, the wheels are coming off the bus pretty fast these days!!
BTW, went to a very leftist site and they are as angry over this as the right is…not that they targeted the right..that they abused their power to target anyone. They know they might be next–nobody likes the IRS.

His own party is bailing on him. He is a lame duck, so his shelf life is limited anyway. Between this and the Benghazi mess, I think they dens might take the driver in chief and sacrifice him to their dark God of liberal political expediency.

I can remember when everyone was freaked out by Nixon’s enemies list. Not so much now that Obama is actually taking action against his enemies. Sure could be bad luck if you got sideways with the IRS and they had to make a call on your healthcare.

God’s overdue Judgement is slowly being outpoured on this nation.
Unfortunately, God’s own people (those standing up for basic human rights and the Constitution) must be attacked and ridiculed first before that swift judgement comes.

To my fellow God-Fearing Americans, prepare yourselves. Both spiritually and in terms of munitions. Cause once it begins, it’s gonna be swift and deadly.

Hey LIVs, get it yet? Hello?

  • Paul C.

Gee Obama is so busy with his agenda that most of his administration is out of control.

It”s those darn low-level employees; or as George Will called them “underlings”. Obama is not responsible for any of the malfeasance. He is a saint. Just ask the so-called press.

    Obama on the Constitution…
Taken from his book and in his own words:
“Audacity of Hope” page 54 of 217 PDF Form:
Ultimately, though, I have to side with Justice Breyer’s view of the Constitution—that
it is not a static but rather a living document, and must be read in the context of an ever-changing world.
    ****FYI: Static means unchangeable****

  • David

Target me IRS axxwipes. I taught government and we spent much of the semester on the United States Constitution. After all, it is the law of the land (unless you are Obama and his band of court jesters).
