Awesome: Gov. Perry talking ‘hunting and such’ with Willie from ‘Duck Dynasty’ [pic]

Gov. Rick Perry (R-Texas) took to Twitter today to post a photo with Willie Robertson from “Duck Dynasty.” They were chattering about “hunting and such” at the recent NRA convention.

As Twitchy reported, Sarah and Todd Palin also had a photo taken with Willie during the convention. Sarah Palin then said that their kids “finally think we are cool.”

No word yet from Gov. Perry’s kids, but Twitter sure loves it.

I’m surprised Obama didn’t try to finagle a photo with Willie. Oh wait, Obama doesn’t go to NRA events. Too bad.

    • Sally Smith

walterc, I wish every one, including you too, would leave Obama out of the comments. I do not hear him saying anything about your choice to be republican. But you better believe I will. I am leaving my comment about this subject and I am a democrat, I am not dissing any one.,Have fun with this and leave the President alone. And by the way I have a gun.

      • SpinMeNot

Is that gun comment a threat? seriously, Obama blames the right for everything and therefore is fair game.

Shall we perhaps leave the President alone in the same manner he left people alone in Benghazi or on board Extortion 17.

Welcome to the ranks of useful idiots, well done.

      • waltzingmtilda

Sally, your comment seems a bit silly to me. Obama has had plenty to say about Republicans. And if Walter wants to bring Obama into this thread on this Conservative site, really, who are you to give him a hard time about it?

      • Red Fred

Wish in one hand and spit in the other, and evaluate which one gets full fastest. Good on you for having a gun for protection, we ALL have firearms for protection. :)

      • walterc

I’m glad you have a gun, but question your logic for supporting a president that wants to take your gun away from you.

I have watched a couple of episodes of it, I thought the family was attempting to pander. It might be only me, being that I grew up on a dairy farm, hunted, trapped, etc. I like the show but it is like watching what goes on around me everyday, plus a little showbiz crud thrown in.

    • DurkaDurka

And that’s the point. Everything else on TV is homo-erotic communist dog crap.

      • DavidKramer

I was in the middle of writing an email to a client and got a ding, read you comment and cringed on the truth to your comment. HT, I am shutting down tomorrow and going Galt, I hope the best for the US but I can no longer deal with the crud here. If people ever decide to do ANYTHING, I will return but as of now, I am done. I hope for the best for everyone, but I see only problems in the future. I hope everyone has prepared for the inevitable.

          Seek help.

          • DavidKramer

Why, do you have some? Why not help yourself?

          • yourmamatoo

I’m not the one losing it.

          • GaryTheBrave

“Help” may be the name of a new drug. IDK. /sarc

    Happy Happy Happy

  • annoyinglittletwerp

Love Perry-but I’m a rare ‘creature’ in that I’m pro second amendment-but anti-hunting. The ‘DD’ guys sound like great people, but I’m not going to watch a show that revolves around hunting. *shrugs*

    • yourmamatoo

Do not eat any type of meat products then.
      Or fish .

    • Jeremy

anti hunting huh. I haven’t met anyone who wasn’t a big lib that was against hunting. You probably are a rarity just like you said.

    • Jarhead83

So you would rather nobody hunted, and let the populations of game animals explode out of control, and just let nature take its course with disease, starvation, auto accidents, etc. Yeah, that makes so much more sense than lawful, humane hunting practices…

    • Mellow Melon

hunting is healthier both for the environment and for the hunters. The hunters get to eat stuff that’s actually good for their bodies AND they protect the environment at the same time. you really think hunters are gonna want to ruin the habitats that their prey lives in or completely exterminate the very animal they’re trying to shoot?

    • HWarrior13

I’m not going to bash you for not being a fan of hunting…it’s a CHOICE. As long as you’re not trying to infringe on anyone else’s right to hunt, I don’t see the issue with your comment. I’m not a fan of hunting either.
That stated, I’ve seen many of the DD episodes and have yet to see them actually hunt* (*Legal disclaimer: I haven’t seen all of the episodes).
The show REALLY isn’t about hunting at all. It’s more about the “wacky antics” of the family (the episode of Willie taking his daughter prom dress shopping was priceless)

Give the show a try and you might change your mind.

  • Sally Smith

Duck Dynasty is one of the best shows on T.V. It is like being at home. I live in KY so I know rednecks when I see one. Hey, u guys have fun. Love your show Sally Smith

    • GaryTheBrave

It’s too scripted for a reality show. Yes, I know all reality shows are scripted. DD goes over the top.

  • Texyank

Ahh ! ! Living in Texas with a Great Governor, Great Senator, and Willie Robertson
Sarah, Todd, were here at the NRA convention last week. LOVE IT.
