Sneering WaPo: Tweeting about Benghazi? You’re a rich man eating Chick-fil-A

Whoa. That can’t be true, can it? Yes, it is. This is the bilge offered up by The Washington Post’s Twitter feed this afternoon.

What a disgrace. As Twitchy reported, Eric Nordstrom choked up with emotion during his opening statement at today’s congressional Benghazi hearing saying, “It matters.” To the despicable Washington Post, it’s just cause for a shameful and sneering tweet.

Citizens with a moral compass are outraged and rightly so.

This Twitter user has a reminder for the shameless and shameful lapdogs over at the Washington Post.

Four Americans were murdered, Washington Post.

For shame, Washington Post. For shame.

  • lissa

I’m tweeting about Benghazi. Last time I looked, I wasn’t a man. (Check). Canadian, so no Chick-Fil-A here (Check). Rich? If only – wanna see my mortgage and my credit card bills? (Check)

    FAIL, WaPo.

    • therantinggeek

      LOL! Love it!

    • Dee

Yes, I also fit one of those descriptions — I love Chick-Fil-A. Other than that, I’m not an old white man or rich.

    • Clete Torres

These ‘journalsts’ are the compost in the Washington Post.

  • I M Free

that’s what happened when you don’t have substantive argument. CLASSIC journalism

    • trixiewoobeans

      Libs and Liberal “journalists”…Biggest.Phonies.In.Town.

  • no good deed

It can’t be real news. Just look at the people who are tweeting about it. Thank you for elucidating your editorial policy.

  • rhondas_view

What’s a “Washington Post?” At the most, irrelevant.

  • reaganFF

The WaPo just upgraded from being a douchecanoe to a douchebarge. Asshats.

    • TugboatPhil

I’d never heard either of these terms before, but do like them. I’m wondering how long before they are douchesupertankers.

    • AdoEdem

Only a few more hit pieces away from a douchefrigate upgrade!

  • KansasGirl

    “Who’s tweeting about Benghazi”?
    Certainly not the media. Pfffffft.

  • mickeyco

Every single time I think MSM can’t shock me any more- BANG. Insufferable, bigoted garbage.

  • daeghrefn

They really are Pravda, aren’t they?

    • AdoEdem

No, Pravda’s gone respectable. Doing the job “journalists” in this country won’t do.

  • ogama843

WHAT, AT THIS POINT, DOES IT MATTER WHO IS TWEETING ABOUT BENGHAZI!? Now see, this a moment where a statement like that is appropriate, Hillary.

  • RblDiver

    I think I know where they’re hiding their post…

  • GW

I’m sure it’s comforting to all other gov’t officials on foreign soil to learn that the WaPo is so concerned for their safety.

  • daeghrefn

Protect Hillary at all costs. Whoever runs against her in 2016 had better be prepared for a sh1tstorm such as will make the anti-Palin rabies seem like nothing. Assuming Hillary runs, of course.

    • therantinggeek

Never assume anything. Because, well… #obvious

      • daeghrefn

        Well, just hypothetically, of course.

    • BlahBlah

There was a bumper sticker back in 2008 – RUN HILLARY RUN

To be placed on the FRONT bumper.

  • tops116

    “Who’s tweeting about Benghazi”

Not Team Obama or the media. Let’s also not forget the four people Team Obama got killed… cause Team Obama and the media certainly did.

    “Rich, middle-aged men”

So, the people that watch or work at MSNBC, CNN and NPR. Who’d a thunk it?

    • AdoEdem

      Damn, beat me to it.

It’s also rich middle-aged white men whining about the fact that yes, people want some straight answers on Benghazi.

  • Murphy Linn Spears

    Quite revealing…

  • Randy W

Hillary already said it doesn’t matter, case closed.

  • radicallyalyssa

I’m a twenty year old, female conservative. The leftist turds that write that garbage clearly don’t understand the American people, which makes me PROUD to call myself a conservative.

    • therantinggeek

  • Marvin Nelson

WTF?? I am going to cancel my subscription immediately!! Oh, wait, I don’t read this rag. My bad. But if I had a subscription, I’d cancel it. Bunch of insensitive, self-serving, biased, leftwing HACKS. Wherever you got your journalism degree, you need to demand an immediate refund since you don’t even know the definition of “journalism.”

  • itekisan

Have you lost your fucking mind? HACKS. RT @washingtonpost Who’s tweeting about Benghazi? Rich, middle-aged men and Chick-fil-A lovers
    LilMissBourbonBroad (@LilMissRightie)

OMG best tweet ever. I laughed at this, because that’s the phrase I use when I just can’t believe the stupidity of these folks.

  • FaithColeridge33

And they wonder why there profits last month declined about 80% last quarter. Or something like that, pardon me I can’t recall the actual figure. Yeah. Keep telling yourself WAPO is losing money because of the internets and not your reporting.

  • Clayton Grant

Wow … just wow. Caitlin Dewey at WaPo is using Demographics Pro to make this connection. They are saying the median income of Benghazi tweeters make $61K. That’s “rich”??
Here’s an excerpt from the article.
” The tweeters are also overwhelmingly white and married, according to Demographics Pro; they also like Chick-fil-A and Walmart β€” two brands most often associated with conservatives.”

    • BlahBlah

When I go to Target I’m usually in disguise.

      • Clayton Grant

        As …?

        • BlahBlah

Something that doesn’t attract attention here in NYC. A drag queen or a furry.

    • Squirrel!

$61K is rich to the majority of Obama voters.

      • mickeyco

Well, welfare & EBT cards can only pay out so much.

        • Squirrel!

Actually, if you take full advantage of the entitlements offered (Section 8, free lunch, pre-k, welfare, food stamps, etc), it’s $60k/ year. Damn shame isn’t it?

  • grais

Who doesn’t give a rat’s ass about 4 murdered Americans? The Washington Post.

    • therantinggeek

That and the numerous Leftists on the various discussion boards…

  • Erthwjim

They also seem to shop at Walmart but are dressed by Macy’s…. This seems a little odd… Also how do they even gather the info, because Twitter doesn’t really have information about likes and dislikes that I can tell.

  • $50224507

The WaPo hired lawyers to gain access to 24,000 pages of Sarah Palin’s e-mails just hoping to find who-knows-what, while 4 Americans died because of this administrations negligence elicit only snarky comments. I’d like to see 24,000 page of e-mails between Hillary and Susan McDougal.

  • Bemani Dog

    This is for Chris Stevens.

  • Marcy Cook

Who’s paying you WaPo? Made a deal with Bill and Hill?

    • MyrmidoNOT

      What!?! They get paid?!?
      Damn….for what?

      • AdoEdem

What else? Shilling for the WH. They probably bought all the propagandists in bulk.

        • MyrmidoNOT

          Good comment!
Prolly had them ‘delivered’ in a dumpster… πŸ˜‰

  • ceemack

After this tweet, I think they should change their logo from “WP” to “WTF”.

    • MyrmidoNOT

NoCanDo. That is already taken by “teh oone”…
      (Remember; Winning The Future?) πŸ˜‰

  • Markward

Score (negative) one for the “Real Journalists”

  • MyrmidoNOT

Well…they are half right…or is that half wit?

“The Libyan Ambassador and his three compatriots have no comment.”

  • gekkobear

So how rich are these ultra-rich people precisely that you’re reporting on?

    “a median income of $61,800”

    $61,800 = RICH…

Ok, now when we “tax the rich” we’ll get somewhere. Everyone making over $50,000 is clearly “rich” and should pay over 40% taxes…

Then the Government will have more money…

Defining “rich” down; and sadly defining journalism down quite a bit as well.

    • MyrmidoNOT

Defining LSM/NFM = idiots in training??
Although some may surmise…they have succeeded!!

  • mickeyco

I can’t imagine they had any conservative readers left, but, in case they did, they don’t now.

    • MyrmidoNOT

      And more importantly…they don’t care… πŸ˜‰

  • porgiefirefighter

Careful WaPo, you don’t want to sound biased..

    • MyrmidoNOT

      Some would say: “…sound unbiased…” πŸ˜‰

  • PChandler

They don’t even bother to dissimulate nowadays. How times change…

  • gracepmc

To the cowardly tweeter at WAPO — tweet that directly to Sean Smith’s mother.

  • BlahBlah

When did Kim Kardashian buy WaPo?

  • Karin_A

    Fucking disgraceful.

  • AdoEdem

    Let’s play a drinking game!

Every single time a leftist responds with:

    “But BOOOOOOOOOSH!”, take a drink.
Something mentioning “Faux News”, take 2 drinks.
“Only conservatives care about Benghazi!” take 3 drinks.
Something about “two illegal wars”, take 4 drinks.
“Brietbart is dead, you lost, get over it already”, finish the bottle.

Feel free to add to the list!

  • Jeremy

WaPo covering Obama’s ass no surprise

    • MyrmidoNOT

Prolly “just looking” for his head.
      It’s “up there”…somewhere… πŸ˜‰

  • Ronald Green

I was just on the page and couldn’t find the post. Not satisfied with crap journalism, they show just how little intestinal fortitude they possess as well. an apology would have been better than running. Lame cowards.

    • Squirrel!

      … but Twitchy is forever!

  • Squirrel!

I’m not on Twitter at all but just finished watching nearly all of the day’s testimony on my phone (no cable). Lower middle class mother with a fam of 5 and boy, do I wish we could afford to eat out even if it were just the Chik Fil A menu! F off, WaPo!!

  • arrow2010

RULE 12: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions. (This is cruel, but very effective. Direct, personalized criticism and ridicule works.)

Resignation from all Obama and ObamaGovernment Now!

  • Maverick

‘Rich, Middle-aged Men and Chick-fil-A Lovers’ don’t tweet, they’re too busy working. That’s how they got rich.

  • v1cious

Typical ignorance of Twitchy. If you had actually read the post, you would see they were quoting from a poll:

“Thanks to Demographics Pro, a Twitter analysis firm, we have some vague idea of who’s tweeting the most: According to their report, #Benghazi tweeters are 58.3% male, with an average age of 52.6 years and a median income of $61,800 (β€œwithin the top 20 percent of overall Twitter distribution,” the report adds).

The tweeters are also overwhelmingly white and married, according to Demographics Pro; they also like Chick-fil-A and Walmart β€” two brands most often associated with conservatives.

Demographics Pro is run by Schmap, a private social data and consumer profiling firm, and describes itself as a marriage of Nielsen and Twitter.”

If you’re offended, then you obviously fit the demographic.

    • Dick Beninya

Wapo Cherry picked their own source, genius. Wapo deserves the derision. Now go back to fellating BO.

    • Zefal

The purpose behind wapo highlighting it is what the point is. Hey look America, the people most interested in this are of a certain demographic, so this means there’s no legitimacy to it.

      • v1cious

“The purpose behind wapo highlighting it is what the point is. Hey look America, the people most interested in this are of a certain demographic, so this means there’s no legitimacy to it.”

Uhh… because that’s how a poll works? If an exit poll said Obama’s demographic were young minorities, would you disagree? Of course you wouldn’t.

    • Mark81150

right.. because if you’re the supposed paper on all things politically righteous, you take a poll with the most stereotypical left wing memes.. and use it to say outright, only the political right,.. which we hate harr harr, cares about stupid things like a massive gubmint scandal.. and besides.. SHUT UP!.. our messiah needs his condom..

      You’re an idiot.

Not rich, never heard of chik a fill before the left tried to destroy a company just for being Christian.. and never made over 40,000 a year with my wife combined.. but these hate mongers at WaPo think it’s funny to mock the right, when Obama’s team of retards left Americans to die on foreign soil.. then colluded with them to cover it up…

It’s like a conservative news outlet, mocking the left over Watergate, then calling them “brie and Chablis delitants” because some poll they like fed that prejudice..

but never let the MSM’s cheap sleazy mocking of half the country for wanting truth, stop you from grabbing your shovel to dig that hole deeper..

who else does this cover up offend you jerk?

Veterans.. that this president and Shillary, decided that leaving our military and civilian personnel to die because it didn’t fit their narrative.. sends a chill down the spine of anyone who ever wore the uniform.. Not that they just happened to die in the line of duty.. but that ignorant negligence, and ass covering was more important than these lives..

They blocked any effort to send help, when it might have mattered you idiot..

So that characterization must fit you well..

I mean, they signed up to die anyway.. right?

      • v1cious

You’re all over the place, you can’t even grasp the concept that this was based on demographic analysis, which means it monitors the people posting in the hashtag. If you get upset, it’s your own fault.

  • Mark81150

Imagine had Nixon been a democrat..

Two shiny eyed up and coming journalists, would have ended up in the mailroom.. forever..

You can’t hide from being a paper completely mulishly loyal to the DNC anymore Wapo..It’s always been, savage the right, do damage control for the left.. and truth is something you only care about when it’s weaponized for the left in your pages..

    • v1cious

Oh please, you guys roasted Carter over the Iran hostage crisis. If you wanna help America, you can start by getting off the cross so we can use the wood.

  • lainer51

Who reads WaPo? Low information voters and true, dyed-in-the-wool idiots?

  • BodiazRising

Question for WaPo: When did 61k become “rich”?
