Rep. Mark Pocan unveils worst chart of all time on House floor

If the sequester isn’t to blame somehow for Rep. Mark Pocan’s pitiful floor chart, we don’t know what to think. Then again, it does have a sort of rustic charm. Twitter?

Obviously, it’s a chart depicting the nation’s income gap.

  • wsmith20

Dd he make that with crayon?

    • Jeremy

looks like it maybe Pelosi helped out.

      • TocksNedlog

    • BristolGOP Backup

That doesn’t look anything like a floor!

    • Brian H (wackobird)

C’mon………crayons are made by EVIL corporations. Therefore Pocan will not touch one. Just ask him about all the evil corporations do that he will not touch.

  • Tilini

Graph is not drawn to scale.

  • DavidKramer

Hey, have I told you yet? We grow our democrats really dumb here in Wisconsin. Sorry about that Senator we just sent, but Ron makes up for that lefty freak a little. He got Hillary all worked up at her hearing.

    • Brian H (wackobird)

Tammy is a PRIZE! Just ask her.

    • Clete Torres

David, they aren’t much brighter here in Hellinois. Just look at Turban Durbin and 0bama.

…and Emanuel, and Quinn, and Duckworth, and Davis, and Madigan, and Bustos, and…

      • DavidKramer

The last time I went to Shitcago I was pissed. Of course here in Wisconsin we are allowed to carry. I went to a mini mall to do some repair work on a franchise that I use to do work for, the place is covered in razor wire on the roof and the neighborhood is pretty much a warzone. I thought just great, I have to work at night while they are closed and of course I got to see a van pull up outside with the door open looking to steal my truck and trailer or just break in. I was lucky enough to have a security system in the truck so I was able to scare them off using the panic button. I would have much rather just walked out and asked them politely what they needed. I hate not being able to defend my property and myself. I will never go back to any sharthole where I am not allowed to carry again.

        • Clete Torres

Can’t blame you. I’m about 100 miles west of Shitcago, and while in a good, established neighborhood, I still have the good sense to make sure my family and property are protected.
Counting down the days to 9 June…

        • stevenally

Yes, but had you pulled a gun, you might either be dead or on trial facing 20 yrs. Just to play devils advocate.

          • DavidKramer

You are not getting the point, I said I will no longer be doing business in any jurisdiction that does not allow me self defense. Hey, I am sure the Democrats just love their cities becoming ghost towns, I hear Detroit is on an upswing….or something.

          • Clete Torres

It’s circling the bowl, but won’t go down, David.

      • John Thomas “Jack” Ward III

John, wasn’t that 106 miles? Great movie.

I’m west (actually northwest), they were southwest, leaving Stateville.

Mark Pocan: Making Wisconsinites look like slack jawed mouth breathers since…

      Well, since January.

Thank God they redrew my congressional district.

    • midwestconservative

Thank God I live in a State where Democrats have to hide their idiocy a little to get elected.

    • mapache

      The chart was union made

  • Markward

I knew libs were as mature as kindergarteners, I just didn’t expect to see that level of art on CSPAN.

  • Brian H (wackobird)

Pocan is a JOKE. Wisconsin is SO proud.

  • MurphTacular

Naturally, no one here actually wants to discuss the income gap, which has been steadily worsening for decades. But yeah, let’s focus on a guy who does a DIY graphic. B/c that’s CLEARLY a bigger issue. Sigh.

    • peteee363

can you explain the income gap? and exactly where in our constitution we are guaranteed exact income distribution? and how do you plan on fixing the so-called gap? making welfare queens and couch potatos get a job?

      • Brent LaBeau

Peteee and the rest of you, who responded to MorphTacular, You hurt my frontal cortex, how? I’ve been reading some liberal thoughts on line, then you guys hit me with common sense and logic, please warn me, I have a headache now.

      • stevenally

“making welfare queens and couch potatos get a job?”

        Why not?

    • Hank Scorpio

The income gap is as old as income. The only way to “fix it” is to make everyone poor. No thanks. I’ll just learn to live with the fact that someone might make more money than me.

    • lmfer

Is that the gap between the income I was making before the current POTUS and what I’m making now? I’m tired of telling Pocan his chart is backwards.

    • mike_in_kosovo

You’re right. Maybe we should discuss the Muslim sugar trade during the Crusades instead?

    • AMSilver

      Here’s your discussion:
Income ‘inequality’ is one of those shiny statistics that does more to create jealousy and class warfare than it does to accurately represent whether there are problems with our economy. Lots of things effect it – introduce 11-20 million 3rd world, low-skilled workers into the labor force and there’s suddenly a huge income gap, but not because there’s anything wrong with the compensation given to the people at the top. You’ve just introduced a lot of people on the bottom, so the gap gets bigger. High unemployment and people leaving the labor force widen the income gap, but the solution to those two problems isn’t to deprive the high earners (through taxation or other redistributive schemes) of the money they need to grow their businesses and hire more people. In fact, attempting to force ‘equality’ is going to make the situation worse, since any money taken in order to redistribute is no longer capable of building wealth, it will only result in more dollars chasing fewer products. A generation of young people who have opted for college degrees in areas like gender studies & the like is also going to widen the income gap because those who possess the aforementioned degrees will be unable to find a career in their field that will pay what one should expect from a post-graduate career. Are the rich to blame for the bad choices of the youth w/ regards to preparing for their future? Well, I’m okay with laying some blame on universities for offering these ridiculous majors, but that’s hardly the problem most people are thinking of when they start out about income inequality.

    • J.N. Ashby

Every person in America is in the 1% with respect to the rest of the world.
And I defer you to a Maggie Thatcher quote “The honorable gentleman here would rather the poor get poorer, so long as the rich don’t get richer.”

  • Bklynnygirl

Under Obama his rich friends are getting richer and the middleclass is getting poorer,
    just what he wants.
How’s the $85 billion the feds are giving Wall Street every month helping main street?
    It’s not.
Obama is so full of shitttt.

  • Frustrated Teacher

My liberal friend heard me talking about Acadia National Park in maine today and just HAD to stick in that it is being hurt by the sequester….I didn’t rise to the bait at lunch. He is delusional…

    • Jim Denney

Let me guess, they haven’t opened it up for summer swimming yet?

It looks like the opening sequence of “My Three Sons”.

CHEEP! CHEEP! CHEEP! Visual aids seems to be the only area D.C. prevaricators find to ‘self-sequester’ and cut spending. Our government prints money and then flushes it down the plumbing, throws it by the bushell basketfuls at the Mooselimb Bro’hood, stuffs their pockets with it, throws it in freezers (remember that?) light their cigars with it, funnel it to the GSA, throw parties for Obama’s Hollywood Rat Pack (<–Shhh!) and generally blows taxpayer dollars every which way from Sunday. Can't Pelosi or Dingy Harry gather up their pages and have them fan out, run their heels off and dig up an old overhead somewhere in that asylum?

  • Joe Wilger

You have to pass the chart to see what’s in it.
    N. Pelosi, 2010

I made a chart just like that one in 3rd grade.
