Columnist Dick Polman denies Gosnell trial cover up, yet misstates charges

If you’ve followed Twitchy’s coverage of the Kermit Gosnell trial, you’re familiar with Bucks County Courier Times columnist J.D. Mullane and his tireless reporting on the trial. He also posted the photo of the rows of empty media seats in the courtroom. Don’t let that lead you to believe that there was any effort by the media to gloss over the story, says columnist Dick Polman.

As Mullane points out, though, in his attempt to debunk the myth that the liberal media “refused to cover the story because they supposedly didn’t want to publicize the dark side of abortion,” Polman mischaracterizes the actual charges in the case.

The right’s worst delusion is its belief that Gosnell — charged with four counts of killing fetuses during illegal late-term procedures — will be a boon to the national anti-abortion movement. [emphasis added]

No less than the New York Times and the Daily Beast also tried to report that Gosnell was on trial for the killing of “fetuses” which were born alive and had their spinal cords snipped. Gosnell also faces 24 counts of performing abortions past Pennsylvania’s 24-week gestational age limit and a murder charge in the death of a 41-year-old woman. But conservatives are the delusional ones?

Thank God for JD Mullane and his tireless work. If it wasn’t for him, it’s unlikely we would know what we know about Gosnell and the heinous acts he and his employees committed. Spin it any way you like, this is abortion and this is what abortion does.

I don’t like to use the word hero, but Mullane is a hero to me.

There is a significant difference if you read Mullane’s reports and some of the others. Mullane truly reports what would impact you if you were in the courtroom. Some of the others I’ve read have obviously tried to lessen the intensity of the the facts, the testimony, even focused more on defense arguments. It’s like one that made a big deal out the fact that the people who worked in the clinic, just couldn’t find any other jobs. As if that were an excuse or explanation (it probably was to the reporter).

Can. Not. Believe. They are still carrying the torch for their stupid agenda, and care more about discrediting the Right than seeing the horror that is in front of their faces. Disgusting.

    • Garth Haycock

      That’s the regressive way.

    • Osumashi Kinyobe

      That’ s pro-abortionists for you.

    • lainer51

Believe it! They lefty women still carry a torch for Bubba and he was impeached for “NOT having sexual relations with that woman”.
They have no morals or scruples, just an agenda.

  • Osumashi Kinyobe

The popular press will do anything to protect the abortion industry and Obama. Given that Gosnell is on trial for INFANTICIDES and killing a woman patient (post-fetus?), Polman’s remarks aren’t just wrong and stupid, they’re self-serving.

  • BAW

It’s just one of many examples of how they use the word “fetus” (as if that’s suppose to make people think of a glob cells or anything but a person) for any baby, unborn or born alive, that they claim it’s okay to kill.

  • rhondas_view

Dick is delusional. Murder is murder and a fool is a fool. Dick supports both. I’m pretty sure that males him a co-conspirator.

  • medicinewomantwo

We all know people who chose the wrong profession, he’s an example of this. I fired these people.

Obama and his cronies champion all this gay garbage, yet care less about the lives of the yet born.. Why does he remind me so much of Al Pacino in ” Devil’s Advocate ”? Well actually they do give thought to the yet born, the thought of these killings padding their pockets and funding campaigns. So many greedy coward evil hearts involved.. But I ain’t trippin’, cause in the end Christ still going to win! My son and I we’re discussing this issue and asked ourselves just how many of us have been ”counseled” into becoming murderers? #Gig’emNation

    “Dick Polman”

    It kinda writes itself.

My two beautiful children were born at 22 weeks and 6 days gestation 13 months ago. The day after they were born, both of them were able grasp the tip of my finger in their tiny hands. My son fought bravely for his life for 44 days before he passed away. My daughter is asleep in her mothers arms this moment. The use of the word fetus is intentionally meant to dehumanize the murder victims and render them less deserving of our love and protection. At 22 weeks, babies can live and breathe (with help) feel pain and experience the loving touch of a parent. My heart breaks for these babies whose sole encounter with life was terror and pain at the hands of Kermit Gosnell and his staff. In a just world, Kermit Gosnell would be sentenced to death by beheading, the same as his many victims.

Dick Polman is a contemptible coward. He cannot or will not look at those pictures and see the truth.

  • DavidKramer

Notice the inconsistency with the leftist argument. Use that article and instead of discussing Gosnell, discuss one of the shootings the lefties have been politicizing…….

Absolute silence will be heard when you say this to a lefty.

  • Jack

so we cant say Easter, Christmas, God, bible, and I guess now add “baby” to that list.
Happy friggin Mother’s day. (probably getting ready to pull the plug on that soon)
