Truth hurts: Gosnell attorney fuming over Fox News ‘See No Evil’ special; Jurors to inform if viewed

Kermit Gosnell’s attorney is apparently taking  a page from Media Matters’ sick book. As Twitchy reported, Media Matters ran cover for abortionist Kermit Gosnell prior to the Fox News special even airing.  The Fox News special, “See No Evil: The Kermit Gosnell Story” ran on Friday night and was repeated on Sunday.

The truth was devastating.

Gosnell’s attorney had the utter gall to call it “outrageous” and “shameful.” Testimony and grand jury reports showing unfathomable atrocities? They are neither here nor there. What is “irresponsible” is exposing it, evidently. Hmm. Sounds like the soulless Will Saletan, who grossly admitted that he finds exposing infanticide worse than actual infanticide.

Of course, the attorney is arguably doing his distasteful job. However, it is quite telling that the Fox News special hit so hard.

Irresponsible journalism? You know what actually was irresponsible journalism? The media blackout at the start of the trial.

The jury continues to deliberate today, after asking several questions.

Judge Minehart has now instructed the jury to divulge if they saw the Fox News special.

And we still wait.

We continue to pray that justice will be served.

Twitchy will continue to monitor this story and update with further developments.

I have to believe if any jurors watched the FNC special they saw and heard much less than they saw and heard during the trial.

    • Clayton Grant

Exactly what I was thinking. Censors would never allow the true horror of the photos seen by the jury to be shown on national TV without pixelating the worst of it out.

    • CatHerder

Just another case of ‘the truth shall make ye fret’.

  • Elaine

Too bad lawyer is mad! The jury is always informed not to watch TV, read papers or discuss the case. So will this be used as an excuse now? Maybe the Judge did not sequester the jury since he figured no one would cover this story or he trusted them to comply with his orders.

    • Cy

Well, we all know how much the left likes to blame things on ‘sequester’…..

      • Michael

OMG, I laughed so hard at that!!!!

    • TugboatPhil

I can’t believe that the defense team would allow anyone on the jury who watches Fox News.

  • CatHerder

Looks like YouTube has taken down the video.

  • ToyZebra

Why would the jury need to watch or be swayed by a news show? They are having to sit there and listen to your atrocities every day.

  • colchak

Aren’t there ways to make sure that the jury doesn’t have access to outside news? I mean they are sequestered aren’t they? But like everyone else has already said, I doubt anything in the documentary would either be new to them or any more horrific than what they have already, and continue, to watch/listen to.

  • Matt

I am appalled that a news station would actually have the audacity to be so honest and upfront about the issues going on! I mean, what kind of insane journalism is that?!?! Journalism 101 Fox News, you have to avoid the truth completely and call “Racism and bigotry” on anyone who disagrees with you!

    • Gary Freeman

Yeah, how dare Fox News actually INFORM the people who watch their network.

  • Murphy Linn Spears

He is hinting at a mistrial

    • Gary Freeman

It won’t happen, because the special airing on Fox doesn’t raise any reasonable doubt. And it doesn’t leak anything that wasn’t already being reported by the reporters who actually showed up at the trial.

  • Jack Deth

Now Mr. McMahon is beginning to experience what a D.A. feels when a damning piece of evidence or testimony is tossed due to a “technicality”.

I don’t think it’s going to slow deliberation down much. Or open a window for a mistrial. Though it may increase Gosnell’s number of 1st Degree and Manslaughter charges.

  • TJ

Just wait until the Travon special on the national NBC not just MSNBC right before they jury selection to taint the whole jury pool. With daily recaps on every MSM channel evening news.

Are the jury not sequestrated in a hotel and not allowed to read anything that the court does not approve of or are they home for the weekend and under oath not to look but could by accident.

  • Right Wired

So he’s not mad at the child murderer, but the coverage of the child murderer. Ok.

He’s just grasping at straws. He knows defeat is near, and this is a pathetic attempt at getting something in place for the appeal process.

    • Stephen K

“When the facts are on your side, pound the facts. When the law is on your side, pound the law. When neither is on your side, pound the table.”

McMahon’s table must be nearly pounded to firewood by now.

  • DavidKramer

Still waiting for the directed verdict, maybe this is the excuse the judge is looking for.

  • John Thomas “Jack” Ward III

    Being optimistic for a conviction (at least) I smell a mistrial attempt by the defense… But I don’t think they’ll find a partial Jury for a second trial….Jawamax 8<{D}

  • Judy B

Guess I’m in the minority, Gosnell should be drawn & quartered, but I’m not sure the jury will find him guilty. Criminals are no longer held responsible for their crimes…OJ, Casey Anthony, & many more.

  • stillinthe60s

Think MSM will be covering Fox’s Gosnell program potentially affecting trial without specifically disclosing what was in the special that could cause a mistrial if juror saw it. Fox focus not abort doc by MSM?

  • seek456

What I honestly don’t understand is that the left is not absolutely horrified that

women were treated worse than animals in this “clinic” that was raking in a fortune and the squalor and horrific conditions of the clinic aren’t making “caring” democrats scream!

I just don’t understand. So you shut your eyes to aborting a fetus that could leave in the loving arms of an adopted parent. No! Let’s kill the little sucker! How dare anyone question the legitimacy of abortion! There is a huge disconnect when people of all political leanings aren’t demanding better conditions for women.

But, and I can’t even put my feelings into words on hearing about one woman who is so very upset that the feet of the fetus she aborted were identified. Now, do I care about the woman who is suddenly outraged? Not a whit! Do I care that any dead body was treated with such disrespect – damn rights I do! Am I concerned about the verdict taking so long? Damn rights! It would have taken me all of 2 seconds to say – “evil – must be put away forever”. 2 seconds!

  • MissDiane47

It’s a good thing that I watched the show when I did; It’s been dumped by YouTube already.

  • golftilidrop

It appears the shyster representing Gonsnell is just as vile, immoral, and evil as the child murderer.

  • BAW

I don’t know who is on the jury but after weeks of hearing testimony that J. D Mullane said “would change you” I bet the last thing they would do (when they got away from it all for a while) was watch anything about Gosnell. I’m sure they were instructed, at the start, not to discuss the trial with anyone and I bet that’s easy (they had to look at all of it, they’ve had to think about it and now have to discuss it more than any decent person would choose to).

  • mapache

That poor jury had to sit through exhibit photos and graphic descriptions…hardly think they want to hear another word. They will all need therapy when this is over.

  • notenoughtime

When you have respect for human life. you don’t have to worry about how you will be portrayed by the truth-based media. You reap what you sow!

  • Red Fred

What a bunch of BS, journalists report on arrests and give accounts of the situation all the time, no different here. I guess Gosnell’s atty must be fearing a LOSE.

  • reaganFF

You know, I’ve never before felt called to pray for a jury to find truth and justice. But boy, have I been praying for this jury this week.

  • DB

“abortion act violations” is the softest term I have ever had the misfortune to hear the murder of numerous newborn children described. Hideous inhumanity a mere “violation”.

  • Bill Board

Who cares how Gosnell or his lawyer feel? Neither of them have experienced the pain those babies must have felt.

  • Jeremy

“The Truth to a liberal is like sunlight to a vampire”.

  • Sheldon Cooper

The IQ of this jury is already evident after taking 4+ days already.

    • GaryTheBrave

There are over 200 charges against Gosnell and they have to decide each one. That’s why it’s taking so long.

  • Michael

everyone here KNOWS that Obama has a hand written pardon, for Gosnell, in his top desk drawer, all it needs is a signature, the date is already filled in: Jan 19, 2016

  • CHHR

Question, how can a special be “designed to sway the jury” when in fact that same jury just sat through some of the most gruesome testimony ever? If they were swayed, then they should never have been selected to begin with, they had no heart for justice when out and out murder is committed…. abortion is an argument that has no place in this trial… while a worthy debate to have, this trial is all about infanticide and the disgusting, heartless, soulless, evil glee he derives by keeping souvenirs of the actual PEOPLE he mutilated and stored in jars.
