Howard Kurtz frets over Dana Perino interviewing former boss, George W. Bush

It’s telling what inspires journalists to finally take a critical look at the way they do business. Former President George W. Bush was the man of the hour today at the dedication of his presidential library, an event that should have been non-political and non-partisan. Fox News’ Dana Perino, who served as White House Press Secretary under Bush, was dispatched to cover the event. Are you concerned yet?

Good grief, indeed. This is what finally raises an eyebrow over the all-too-cozy relationship between politicians and the media?

  • Stephen K

At the dedication of George W. Bush’s presidential library, we got to watch –

Obama use the occasion to stump for his amnesty bill.
Bill Clinton use the occasion to bash George W. Bush.
Chuck Todd use the occasion to mock Bush and then whine about Twitter hate when called out on it.

And yet, Dana Perino interviewing her former boss for a fluff piece is the only thing Howie Kurtz and the rest of media tools find wrong.

    • Elaine

Who? I don’t even know who he is. Seriously, but I do know and love Dana, so thanks for the wonderful interview! 😉

Here Kurtz, deal with some Obama Truth:

…“It is this world, a world where cruise ships

throw away more food in a day than most residents of Port-au-Prince see in a

where white folks’ greed runs a world in need,

apartheid in one hemisphere, apathy in another

That’s the world! On which hope sits!”-Barack Obama

Fox should have sent Karl Rove along with Dana, and maybe all the double standard turds like Howie would have been stunned into silence for a couple of days. I wonder if Stephie-boy has ever interviewed Bill Clinton since he left office

  • Gloves Donahue, Jr.

Tiny D is not a journalist and does not pretend to be, unlike the Keebler elf on Good Morning America.

    • bo1921

I’d say he’d have to look up to the Keebler elf.

    • T.O.

Best ever slap down! And I adore the “photo”! I am a fan. lol

  • grais

Yeah, they should have sent Bob Beckel, or Heraldo, maybe.

  • Garth Haycock

    Hey Howie!

    Why aren’t you there?

  • kateorjane

Using Kurtz’s logic we would never have to endure another Obama interview. Almost all of the network “journalists” are such pandering suck-ups they would never be qualified to do a serious interview. Oops – we’ve already seen how they waste interview opportunities by throwing so much fluff at BO – we were all so concerned about his basketball final four pics.

  • bo1921

I bet she didn’t bow to President Bush like brian williams did to that phony in the WH when williams interviewed him. Too bad you’ve gotten old kurtz – I could use a yard boy around the property.

should CandyBar Crowley swoon over libs on her Sunday morning show?

  • ReeFungorio

Don’t let Howard Kurtz ever plan your wedding. I let him plan mine and it did not go well. When it came to objections during the vows I can’t even remember how many there were! It seemed doomed from the start when Howie hired a minister who displayed an absolute hatred towards my bride and me. The videographer ambushed everyone there and the photo album looks like a CIA file.

Should CNN position Howard Kurtz as an impartial journalism critic? That’s a more meaningful question.

  • “G”willekkers

Dana Perino? Really? This is who you choose to criticize? You are laughable and a poor excuse for a journalist, Kurtz! Hmmm… jealous much? She hosts a very popular TV program…. how about you?

  • Johnny_Layabout

In 2010, George Stephanopoulos interviewed ex-boss Bill Clinton for Good Morning America. I don’t recall Howard Kurtz getting upset over that. In 2017, 80% of TV media personalities will be former staffers of Clinton, Obama, and/or the DNC.

Geez, Howie, I don’t know? The dedication of a library for a former President is such a big and breaking news story! You might be on to something there! Let’s come to an agreement: when the pathetic liberal media can actually do their freaking jobs, and expose the filth of stories like the Benghazi coverup or the Gosnell murder trial, then maybe you try and make a point about the journalistic credibility of Dana P. interviewing her former boss for a puff piece. How about that, Howie? This takes pathetic to new heights…

  • Mike W

Ms. Perino is a lovely woman, leave her alone you morons.

  • kch50428

Does Howie fret over every interview with a ‘Rat-Pol Georgie Snuffleupagus does on ABC? Stuff it Howie.

  • Rich

W showed more class than Obama and Clinton combined.

  • JR48

It was a fluff piece on the day of the opening of the POTUS library. It wasn’t a serious interview.

Hey Howie, do you know the difference between old friends talking to each other and an interview done by a serious journalist?

  • J. Cox

Wow….way to make a 40 sec clip and take it out of context you twit. She said AFTER 9/11…but since fools like you can not grasp truth and honesty,go ahead and lie.Do yourself a favor though…make your absurd and foolish lies a little harder to debunk in less than 2 mins.

“there were no terrorist attacks during the Bush administration.”

Why would you say there hasn’t been any terrorist attacks during the Bush administration? Are you daft or a liar?

  • lainer51

  • gjsmith_62

    Those are your words.

  • gjsmith_62

But I quoted you. Why not defend what YOU said?

  • gjsmith_62

I quoted you, are you that friggin’ stupid? Or just a liar?
