‘Every voice counts’: Michelle Malkin wins Breitbart Award

The “suppressed narrative” is no myth. Just this month conservatives leveraged the power of social media to drag the mainstream media kicking and screaming into the Philadelphia courtroom where Kermit Gosnell is on trial. Twitchy founder and “just a blogger” Michelle Malkin was honored tonight with the Breitbart Award for her efforts in making narratives like those heard.

  • StatEco

Great Job Ms Malkin! You look gorgeous always.

  • cheongyei

    Right on, Michelle!!!

  • Bklynnygirl

    Congratulations Michelle!!!
    You deserve it.

  • http://extremesplash.wordpress.com/ Ben Bollman

I am truly glad this site exists and glad that Michelle had the courage and genius to start it, every day there is powerful and undeniable proof of the vileness that we conservatives are up against. It also illustrates the classiness and wit of our fellow conservatives and gives us common folk a voice.

    • capisce

      Hear hear!

      • Adela Wagner

Right on Ben. And also shows we can even disagree at times, and still be on the same side fighting the Good Fight.

  • no_more_deceit

    “just a blogger” yaaaaay

    • Frank Drebin

“Michelle Malkin is a champion in the pursuit of truth and accountability
who has tirelessly worked to expose corruption and waste in government.
She never hesitates to speak truth to power, debate issues that the
mainstream media and political insiders would prefer to sweep under the
rug, and empower citizens to join in her cause. Her work exemplifies
Andrew Breitbart’s fiery spirit and advances his legacy.”

Congrats to her on the well-deserved recognition.

  • Zorro

    BRAVA! BRAVA! Well done Michelle!!

  • J. Cox

Congratz MM…you deserve it.Thank you for standing up to the hypocrites from both sides and telling the truth. If only people would read, instead of parroting.

    • jpowerhouse

      MM 2016!

      • Harry A

one can only wish! ive grown quite tiresome of the seemingly endless supply of pundits and political commentators who have sprung up, especially fueled by social media, that won’t run for office! it would be nice if instead of just looking at washington from the outside some of them ran and actually changed it from the inside!

  • teamfrazzled

    Well deserved honor -congratulations!

  • bidentime

No one more deserving! Excellent Choice!

  • mickeyco

Best choice they could possibly have made. Go, girl!

  • JoeMyGodNYC

Second prize was TWO Breitbart awards.

    • Frank Smiles

      Spoken like an envious LOSER.

    • Hiraghm

Then Third prize would be a Nobel Peace Prize… coming up the rear in 4th would be a seat in the White House.

Congratulations Michelle! So well deserved. Andrew Breitbart himself is nodding his approval in heaven, I’m certain.

  • peteee363

congrats michelle, now you can take me to dinner to discuss the honor. ok, you won’t take me to dinner, but you can discuss the honor!

does Malkin still support interning Americans indefinitely without due process? she’s a 5a failure. the constitution should protect all US citizens 100% of the time. what was Malkin’s position on Obama’s unconstitutional droning of Abdulrahman al-Awlaki?

    • 3seven77

Why don’t you do some research and find out? You can search Twitchy or MichelleMalkin.com.

      • onegoodnathan

it was more rhetorical. if people on the left and right want to be situational w the application of the constitution then what’s the difference? they both ignore the guaranteed rights intended by the founders.

but I guess the entire city of Boston just cheered their 4a rights being squashed by the state so maybe the country is already too far gone.

        • http://twitter.com/bretzysdude bretzysdude

Translation: No, I’m not going to do the research.

          • onegoodnathan

dude, I’m well aware of where Malkin stands on the subjects I originally visited. she defends the US govt’s internment of Japanese American citizens in relocation camps during WW2, which is a violation of the 5th amendment of the constitution. she also has been critical of drone strikes authorized by the Obama admin–including the indiscriminate killing of American citizen Abdulrahman al-Awlaki, also a 5a violation. so which is it?

the bill of rights should apply to all American citizens all the time IMO

it’s too bad an acute individual like MM still is choosing to subsist in the played out right vs left paradigm. tyranny is on the march, so let’s rally for liberty.

          • http://twitter.com/bretzysdude bretzysdude

“dude, I’m well aware of where Malkin stands on the subjects I originally visited.:
That’s all I need to hear from you.
If you know, there’s no point in asking. All you’re doing is stirring up trouble.
            Goodbye, troll.

          • onegoodnathan

I commented to raise information to the numerous people who blindly follow neo-cons like Malkin thinking that they are pro constitution.

hey, but their has been some anti 1a overtures coming from the neo-cons the last few years, so maybe you’ll get your wish for a speech ban applied to that which is not agreeable to the majority.

          • http://twitter.com/bretzysdude bretzysdude

            You’re STILL whining?

    • Lex_351

Listen Alex Jones drone, the great Michelle Malkin laughs at you who can’t understand the difference between America’s foreign enemies and American citizens. How often do you wash that tin foil hat freak?

      • Sons Thunder

Abdulrahman al-Awlaki was an American citizen.

        • onegoodnathan

an american citizen murdered by the US govt simply bc of who his kin were, without due process–as declared a right per the constitution.

    • Hiraghm

You obviously don’t know the meaning of “due process”. If you believe your own sarcasm, then of course you oppose abortion, as I do, on equal protection basis?
Did you even bother to read “In Defense of Internment”?

      • onegoodnathan

? explanation of how I misapplied due process?

the right of every american citizen, if forced into a cage by the state, is to be informed of the charges for detainment and to be granted to the judicial process in a reasonable amount of time.

I dont even want to begin to understand your logic to conflate abortion into the discussion.

it wasnt sarcasm, it was a rhetorical question which is a literally device. Malkin, who is an excellent writer, uses it occasionally.

if people like Malkin and Bush via the BS patriot act want to crap on the 5a then what’s the difference with Obama’s 2a gun grab? either the rule of law is applied consistently or it isn’t applied at all.

I initially broached the topic bc it is almost never addressed in the corporate owned media, including fox, clear channel, and all the little neo-con subsidiaries like national review, DC, twitchy, etc..

but per usual on this site all I got was ad hominem and semantical replies–kinda like those evil leftist sites.

  • Maxx

As proud as I’m sure Michelle is for such a well-deserved award, the example she sets as a mother, to me, is what is most inspiring. Young women need to know being a strong conservative woman is a precious commodity in a time when being such is ridiculed by the opposition at every turn.

Conservative women rule and Michelle sets one hell of a barometer.

  • Ariadnea

    What a deserving recipient. Congratulations!

  • Adam Johnson

Andrew Breitbart was my hero, and I wished I could have met him. I can’t think of anybody better to win this year’s Breitbart award. Ms. Malkin has done more to make twitter interesting and to get the word out than anybody else.

  • jeff13trucker

  • Jake Wilde

Congratulations Michelle Malkin! You have been a highly respected voice in journalism for me over the last few years and it has been refreshing to see someone with such caution yet have the intellect to hit hard on key issues. My wife and I both give you high honors for all you do for the people of the U.S.

I have only recently become a fan of Michelle Malkin ( well in the last year ) I just learned that she grew upon my area. I just love her and grateful for what she brings to light

  • fivegreatkids

The Patrona deserves this award. Great job Michelle. Especially as an example of a great mom, wife, cousin and family member–the things that will really make this nation strong. You go sister! Stay safe.

  • John Thomas “Jack” Ward III

    Just a blogger, Columnist, Mother, Wife, and an all around “Good Egg”….I’d vote for her if she ran for President, but Sarah Palin would be better competition for her than Billary, or Nancy Pelousy… Jawamax 8<{D}

    • Hiraghm

It would signal a return to sane politics if it were Michelle Malkin on the Republican ticket running against Sarah Palin on the Democrat ticket. It would mean the political spectrum had shifted back to where it belongs.

In response to Tom Brokaw’s bailing out on Correspondent’s Dinner.
Tom, you don’t seem to understand, we see all media personalities (yes, “personality” describes you and your ilk better than journalists, reporters or media outlets because you no longer have an affinity or respect for this Country, the U.S. Constitution (whether you like to acknowledge, our Constitution also includes 1st and 2nd Amendment, latter being most important in order to have a Constitution), and the ability to be a voice for the voiceless – you no longer have curiousity, which has devastated all media (this includes you too Politico – Mike Allen, everytime you speak, your canines get longer. You’ve become drunk with the power of the most powerful. But you will fall as fast as you rose once they no longer need you. We The People have you to thank for one thing… we have educated ourselves to go in search of the truth, something the media knows nothing about. You’re nothing but a bunch of elitist snobs, who have totally dummied down and trashed real journalism, allowing you to become nothing but puppets for the mighty. Guess what, we don’t need you, the Tom Brokaws of the world, the WH so-called correspondents, the so-called hard news networks. Sad we have to go to international networks (thanks France24 – so far you’re one of the few left). So when the WH Correspondents Dinner comes along, We The People see everyone in the room (BOTH parties) as a lot of naked, bloated, drunken emperors. We watch you for comic relief, nothing else. Shame on all of you, as when Media is in lockstep with those in the highest Power, you’ve begun the workings of a Dictatorship – history has proven.

  • jenajosh e

Michelle, you are an inspiration to all. You’ve never backed down, never traded your ethics and character. You truly understand your power in speaking for the powerless, the essence of what journalism is supposed to be. The fraud-stream, anti-American media could learn so much from you. As you well know, when Media is lockstep with the powerful, Dictatorship is around the corner. Thanks for being the voice of the voice. & congrats on your well-earned Breitbart award. Couldn’t be bestowed on a better voice.
