Washington Post digital editor demonstrates power of pressure cooker

Viewers last night agreed that they really didn’t need to see CNN demonstrate how to put together a “cheap and deadly” pressure cooker bomb just like those used in Boston. Tonight, Washington Post digital foreign editor Anup Kaphle did something even more transgressive: he live-tweeted instructions on how to use a pressure cooker to cook.

“Dark-skinned” potatoes? Can CNN confirm this step?

Hungry readers in Massachusetts can bookmark this post for when Williams-Sonoma decides it’s safe to stock pressure cookers again.

Jake Tapper, are you still happy about moving to CNN? If your contract has an escape clause, press the eject button now!

Thanks so much WaPo! This is totally newsworthy and so relevant to the most pressing issues of today.

House report on Hillary’s Benghazi debacle… not news.
    Gosnell case…. not news.
Record high unemployment rates among young people and minorities… not news.
Gov trying to ruin the Internet with oppressive taxes… not news
    Obamacare crumbling… not news.

Teaching people how to cook in a Pressure Cooker because a bomber happened to use a pressure cooker to make a bomb is so totally the best thing for the press to be spending their time doing in this country!!

    • Zanshi

Well, it’s better than CNN’s report about how to make a bomb using a pressure cooker, at least. “Behold! The PROPER way to use a pressure cooker!”

      • Kevin Krom

Nobody really NEEDS a pressure cooker, though. I am disgusted at the cavalier way in which this guy uses such a dangerous weapon for sheer personal gratification. Perhaps he’s compensating for something?

  • John (it true me am)

Next Up: Hard hitting coverage on heating up leftovers in the microwave.

is this sarcastic, because i cant tell….i really hope this is being sarcastic lol

surely we wont be made that someone showing that a pressure cooker can be used to *gasp* cook, and that perhaps williams and sonama had no need to take them off the shelves?

or if were made that he’s talking about cooking, surely its comparable to michelle teling us about the latest cookies she makes or dana loesch keeping us updated on her paleo meals….most of his tweets are work related, doesnt mean there cant be a fun “entertaining” ones.

Secret smuggled spice?! I don’t trust this guy!
    ; )

I think Wal-Mart and K-Mart are in a bombing conspiracy against America. I was in both stores last night and they have shelves lined with pressure-cookers!! Somebody needs to check that out before it gets out of hand!!!! Wonder if Sherlock Napolitano has an app for that?

    • ajdecarlo

Just wait until Homeland Security starts stockpiling millions of pressure cookers for “self defense”.

      • JustLikeAnimals

Yeah, I expect a request for purchase any day now from DHS for 7,000 pressure cookers with hollow-point lid latches.

I prefer broiling Lamb in the Oven, at about 550 degrees. Jawamax 8<{D} But at least he didn't blow anything up (like his dinner, XD LOL)

    That was….riveting.
