DAMN! another failure of all our “WMD Control” laws

  • annoyinglittletwerp

‘Conspiring’? He stopped ‘conspiring’ when the bombs exploded!

    • b_truit

Its the medias tweets your reading… Look at the actual criminal compliant. 2 charges: use of Weapon of mass destruction and malicious destruction. Media sucks.

      • annoyinglittletwerp

        That’s more like it. Thanks.

    • Neil Leininger

I was about to say the same thing. The US media does suck.

  • K-Dubya

Weapon of mass destruction?!?! I guess this means Bush was right about Iraq.

  • camnpat

Has he been read his Miranda Rights? I want Tsarnaev to pay for all the suffering he caused under all the weight of the law, but this guy is a citizen. Muslim extremist or just a nut, this guy had received citizenship. I am concerned of the precedent this may set when it comes to any citizen in the future, specially coupled with that crappy security bill our dear leader signed last year.

Granted, you still have those rights whether a person reads them to you or not, but it is more this aspect of making “exceptions” for certain people that is troubling. The law has to be consistent for all.

What do you guys and gals think?

What is the magic that a Miranda warning offers?

      • camnpat

Like I said, it is not about any “Miranda magic” . It’s about being consistent with the law for all people. You cannot make up the rule of law as you go.

Like it or not, the whole Miranda warning has been regular procedure with US citizens for the last 50 or so years.

Agreed. It’s troubling the number of people who seem to be ready to throw away someone’s rights because it feels good to do so – to exact some sort of revenge. How is this guy any different then the Unabomber, Eric Rudolph or Tim McVeigh? I’ve grown tired of listening to the same people advocate stripping this guy of his citizenship also scream about our 1st & 2nd Amendment rights being violated by this administration. These are the same people who don’t seem to have a problem with the lockdown of Boston & Watertown and the 4th Amendment rights being thrown out the window – because of ‘public safety’.
In my world, the BoR isn’t negotiable. It would appear that they are in most everyone else’s world – as long as they are kept ‘safe’ then the ends justifies the means. I think Ben Franklin had something to say on that one….

      • Gary Freeman

Dems are trying to take away our rights because of Adam Lanza. But now they care about Constitutional rights when it comes to defending a terrorist. They need to pass a new law that if someone commits an act of terror, they lose any rights the Constitution affords them.

  • michael s

    Where’s the word terrorism,

    • Gary Freeman

I guess because he turned out not to be a white right-wing extremist, they decided to not label him as what he truly is. I wouldn’t be surprised if they ended up labeling him a war hero before too long. They’d call him hero before they’d call him terrorist.

  • Bemani Dog

Bring him to federal court in Florida. We’ll make sure he fries.

  • radicallyalyssa

I don’t understand why it’s “conspiring,” and not “USING.” Why not pick a larger charge?

    • Gary Freeman

Because the Dems want there to be a very good chance that he can get off without facing jail time.

  • Mike Peterson

Charge and convict this piece of trash already. Quit wasting my tax dollars debating this whole thing and locking him up.
