President Obama warns against rushing to judgment in age of instant reporting, tweets

Did President Obama call out Twitter and Reddit during his statement tonight following the capture of Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev? We all know that he has criticized police in the past for “acting stupidly,” but law enforcement rightfully received nothing but praise tonight. But we all know by now that any time Obama is behind a podium, someone is in for a scolding.

That’s right; let’s not rush to judgment.

  • Mr. Grammar/SpellCkr

Obama is always rushing to judgment when his policies fail. It’s always the Republicans’ fault. The Republicans are blocking votes. The Republicans this, the Republicans that, blah, blah, blah.

  • poetslife

O is a marxist/muslim. That is my judgment. I did not rush. It is based on 6 years of research.

    • Red Pill

I challenge anyone to disprove even a single one of the Truth: statements here.

    • jpowerhouse

just like bin laden..coincidence? i think not

I dont think he is dead, I have seen photos of sadamm and others but not bin laden

        • jpowerhouse

yup. they are probably paling around now and discussing about madrasas. sick.

  • DeadBuffalo Blog

If I has a son that rushed to judgement, he’d look like Obama.

    • jpowerhouse

      I has conclusion.

  • DorothyGrissom

I would never “jump to conclusions” like saying the Boston bombing must be a “Tax Day Event,” (said Obama).

    • TugboatPhil

We can’t jump to a conclusion until all videos have been checked to find out which one to blame.

    • angeleyez

What did Obama say about the police and the Black professor ?
Is it time for another BEER SUMMIT ?

  • Mandy in SC

I had a hard time getting past the complete lack of emotion, almost robotic reading of his notes. It seemed almost as though he wasn’t happy with the outcome.

    • Osumashi Kinyobe

Of course he wasn’t happy. No liberal/leftist is. They wrap their political ideologies in with their egos so that when they are proven wrong, their precious egos cannot take the blow.

    • Blake Waymire

That’s because he wasn’t happy with the outcome. Progressives don’t believe Victims of Discrimination(tm) can do any wrong whatsoever, but his early remarks about a horrible right-winger likely doing this kind of put him in a place during which he couldn’t ignore that the bombing was wrong.

      • Brian Roastbeef

Yep. Barry’s media outright told us what outcome he wanted. David Sirota, Michael Fatarse Moore, etc toeing the line as always. He didn’t even necessarily want a right-winger – Loughner and Lanza weren’t – just somebody that he could twist to his own end. Instead it was exactly what he didn’t want: foreign Muslims highlighting how little he’s done to protect Americans and at a time when he’s hoping to ram amnesty down our throats.

I didn’t watch his remarks directly, can’t stand to listen to the creep, but I wouldn’t have been half-surprised if it were the angry Obama that threw a hissy fit after his gun grabbing was defeated in the Senate.

        • rennyangel2

Stop the new “immig” bill as we stopped the gun grab. 202-224/5-3121.

        • Blake Waymire

I did watch the remarks, though I regretted it afterwards. It wasn’t the angry Obama we saw after the gun grabbing defeat, but he wasn’t happy about it. In his initial remarks about Boston, I got the feeling that he didn’t actually care (maybe he was planning on golfing and those two bastards ruined it for him). I got the same feeling after last night’s remarks.

    • jpowerhouse

That’s because he wasn’t happy. he probably didn’t want the guy captured. such a sad day for him.

    • Garth Haycock

Let’s not kid ourselves. Dear Leader doesn’t give a damn about anyone other than himself. He’d throw his wife and daughters under the bus for political expediency. There’s no way he cares what happens to this terrorist.

    • ICOYAR

That is because he lost two voters for his third term

      • Orlando Cee

Sad thing is, if he goes for a third term, voters will be irrelevant.

    • rivers

I only heard the audio, so monotone, like a kid at a recital because his mom is making him be there.

    • rennyangel2

Yes, he ahd much more emotion about losing the gun vote than anything that happened in Boston.

    • Koker

He was just sad that he’s not allowed to comment on active cases.

      • BrendaStarr

Oh, he can comment alright. He just picks and chooses the ones that suit his agenda better. That’s all.

  • kim

so… okay to jump to conclusions when a Muslim is NOT involved….

    • jpowerhouse

i jumped to conclusions too but then I saw he was white without a beard and a turban screaming

  • Osumashi Kinyobe

President Douchebag finds himself discomfited whenever someone rails against his Islamic brethren. Perhaps its best to stick to unrealistic scenarios and speculation. You know, so as not offend the ever-offended not matter how many times they attack or kill others.

  • Red Pill

Who is it that is famous for saying that the Cambridge, MA police “acted stupidly”?

    • mike_in_kosovo

I know! I know! It’s George Bush, right?

I mean, everything *else* is his fault…. /sarc

  • Clayton Grant

” … we all know by now that any time Obama is behind a podium, someone is in for a scolding.”
    Ain’t that the truth?!?
Has the WH tweeted Obama’s remarks yet?

  • Howzah123
  • okiepastor

Obama was more emotional when his gun control efforts failed.

    • nc

    • Sue Ann Carey

Looked like he threw a temper tantrum that day! I didn’t get my way and now you will pay! He has got issues!

  • Red Pill

Anyone who does not know what the “Shahda” is, or what what it means to the Muslim world when a person recites the shahada in Arabic, should read this:

    Barack Hussein Obama took Shahada

In plain sight, but ignored by many.

Obamanut is nothing but a liar

    • jpowerhouse

and don’t forget who he pals around with. deep down he’s laughing inside.

Your regime questioned these muslim terrorist and you let him go, so it is your fault obamanut, all the blood shed is on you.

  • Jack Deth

But… But… But wasn’t it Obama’s bestest buddy, John King, who spent the better part of his airtime on CNN. Tweeting and reading tweets and revealing himself to be the biggest, highest paid hick dead on the air????!!!!

  • Allison Accardo

Does His Ineptitude realize that social media helped the investigation and it also helped keep people from getting killed/hurt?

    No? Oh.

  • Kevin

What he meant to say was: Now, I’ve spoken to my advisors, and this just doesn’t meet with any of our forecasted plans. We are in a position of having to load up the teleprompters before we were prepared. Please allow some additional time for us to figure out how to use this situation to our advantage. Until I figure out what conclusion you should jump to, please refrain from independent thought.

  • Marko

    President had a tough week.

    1. Gun confiscation lost in the Senate.
    2. Muslims bombed the Boston Marathon.
    3. The factory explosion was in a red state so he wasn’t invited to speak.
    4. Joe Scarborough still won’t come out of the closet as a liberal.
    5. Tiger Woods lost another major.
    6. MSNBC got smashed by Fox and even CNN in the ratings this week.

  • HARP2

Obama ….you`re an idiot. Oh…did I rush my judgment ?

No…it’s well known what an idiot he is!!!

  • Red Pill

Obama: Please don’t jump to conclusions about that time I repeated “Allahu Akbar” 4 times to a reporter from the New York Times…

Mr. Obama recalled the opening lines of the Arabic call to prayer, reciting them with a first-rate accent.

The “opening lines of the Arabic call to prayer” includes 4 repetitions of “Allahu Akbar”…

  • Marko

I have a friend at Beth Israel (what irony) Hospital who witnessed this episode with the captured suspect. President Obama’s hypnotist at the hospital. Repeat after me: I voted for Romney. I belong to the Tea Party. I have a poster of Ted Cruz in my room. I am not a Muslim. I watch Fox News. I listen to Rush Limbaugh.

  • Marcus Porcius

Remember how the Fort Hood was NOT terrorism ten seconds after it happened, just like the Times Square bomber?

Then when the guy shot up the Sikh temple it WAS terrorism ten seconds after it was over?

Good thing Obama never jumps to conclusions.

    • jpowerhouse

he thinks whenever it’s a white guy, right away it’s terrorism. makes me sick!

    • Seriously?

The night of the bombings, he didn’t say terrorism. Then the WH decided to call it terrorism. I bet he wishes he could go back and “uncall” it terrorism now.

      • michael s

just like now that its some white dudes its bombing suspects not terrorists.

  • Red Pill

Sister: “I don’t know what got into them”

Uncle: “He started telling me about that he’s in Islam.”

It’s clear what got into #Boston bombers.

  • radicallyalyssa

Just blame white people and backpedal when you’re wrong. Oh, and don’t jump to conclusions!

    • michael s

weren’t these white terrorists? oh i forgot the perps were dark skinned males ,right?

  • Brian Roastbeef

Hear that guys? Everybody stop assuming that these Chechen Muslims are Chechen Muslims. Stop assuming that somebody, likely Russia who have been fighting Chechen Muslims for years tipped America off on the danger of this Chechen Muslim. And especially don’t ask why one of these Chechen Muslims was arrested in 2009 and kept in this country instead of deported back to Chechnya, where a bunch of Chechen Muslims live.

Wait, did I accidentally say Chechen Muslim in there? Don’t rush to judgment that’s what I meant. Could have been anybody. Generic bitter-clinger. Venezuelan opposition leader. Junior Senator from Texas. Everybody relax, and keep openly gullible to whatever lies Barry has left in the wake of this.

  • RogueRose

Don’t jump to conclusions says the guy who blamed Benghazi on a youtube video..

    • Seriously?

      Oh wow. Excellent point!!

    • nc

    • neoface

that was a purposeful lie, not jumping conclusion. An insidious jerk that Obie!!!

  • Ntr

What, are they afraid of the internet at becoming better than they are at investigations? Beats the liberal MSM that has beating the ‘white, christian, right-winger, tea-partier’ propaganda. Crowdsourcing is relatively new online and it’s people are not going to stop just because a president in his second, final term says so.

The majority of people are naturally helpers and they’re going to help using the most of the tools at their disposal. In time, crowdsourcing like what we saw will be a useful and reliable tool in the near future. The government just gets all uptight when their being potentially outdone by decentralized groups of people who will do a better investigative job than they do. And that uptight-ness goes double so when we’re talking about power hungry Democratic politicians who want everything to revolve around the federal government. The private ‘market’, in time, is much better at everything anyways. And more trustworthy with our rights.

  • rivers

Are you effing kidding me, he actually said not to rush to judgement? Wow. You mean like he does, all the time, about anyone and everyone who displeases him?

    • ked5

well he is the emperor. he’s the only one allowed to rush to judgment because he wants all eyes focused on him. there have to be some perks to his substantial burdensome job /

  • CO2 Producer

Obama’s aloof manner of addressing the present conclusion of this atrocity provides no inspiration. His nonspecific but apparent insinuations instill no confidence. I see someone who isn’t talking to us but instead is talking at us.

    • nc

      So what else is new?

  • Jack Deth

But. But. But, if you can’t rush to judgement on the social media, where else can you?!!

    Oh, wait.

CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC, CBS, NPR, New York Times, Washington Post, L.A. Times, Chicago Tribune, Reuters, Associated Press and Gannett New Service…

  • rennyangel2

I notice bamster didn’t crticize CNN and MSNBC from naming “right wingers” or tea partiers as likely bombers immediately. The “news” names the right first because it knows that is the first thing people will hear and that is what they will remember.
Mr. zilch himself isn’t reticent about jumping to conclusions when he called Trayvon Martin “my son” or the MA police “stupid” when they arrested Dr. Gates.
The WH would like to control Twitchy, Twitters, the net, and esp. FOX News because they aren’t sycophants like the alphbets acting like lapdogs and waiting for the go ahead of the word from DC. Bork’m. Keep up the good work, right or wrong, as long as you are free and open.

  • Right Wired

“We don’t jump to conclusions and judge entire groups of people”

Like gun owners? Tea Party members?

    Oh ok.

  • Roto

7 minutes into the speech, he was talking about himself and taking credit for things he didn’t have a damn thing to do with….

    • theakinet

did the same thing at the memorial

  • Seriously?

It might just be me, but I don’t think “diversity” when I think of Boston. I didn’t realize it made Boston the “great city that it is”. NYC maybe, Boston? Yeah, nope.

What he did here was give the progs cover for attacking conservatives for racism and bigotry for saying the word Muslim.

  • Paul Citro

Another case of…………………….Do as I say, not as I do!! What a hypocrite

  • Richard Jefferies

It has to be embarrassing to the wanna be dictator that if it weren’t for social media and the help of thousands of dutiful citizens these two probably wouldn’t have been caught, at least not until they purported another act. How many tax dollars in expensive Homeland Security equipment at the Boston Marathon couldn’t stop a couple young men with a pressure cooker and some supplies from Home Depot?

  • TocksNedlog

First he loses on the gun-control thing, and now this? Our president sounds stressed; I think he needs to go on vacation. He hasn’t taken one yet this month, has he?

  • TexSizzle

“…any time Obama is behind a podium …” You stand *on* a podium, and behind a *lectern*.

  • TocksNedlog

Right on, Mr. President. You tell ’em!
All of you conclusion jumpers should just chillax!
I mean, just look at the president himself — HE was raised in a Muslim country, but does he go around using remotely controlled ordinance to kill Americans? NO, he . . . oh, wait.

    • neoface

He kills Americans in a more insidious way, economically!!!!

  • Gallatin

Don’t lecture me about rushing to judgement Mr. baracky HUSSEIN obowmao youtube video libturd.

  • jojofido

“We don’t jump to conclusions and judge entire groups of people” (unless your gun owners, cause we know you’re just gonna go kill babies)~Backache Omoron

  • nc

For someone so critical of social media, he sure uses it to his own advantage, especially to win elections. Or is it only social media that YOU don’t approve of or can’t control, Mr. President, that you have a problem with?

  • rivers

Oh, so we shouldn’t assume they were upset about tax day like he speculated, according to Axelrod?

  • neoface

Do as I say, not as I do!!!! Obama’s motto? I’m certain he only said that because it turned out to be a Muslim terrorist, one of his own. A real sap!!!

    • ked5

it’s a liberal motto – and Obama is very far left of “liberal”

  • Brett McMicken

“In this age of instant reporting, tweets and blogs, there is a temptation to… jump to conclusions.”- #Obama
yeah, someone could have made a fool of themselves by blaming the whole marathon bombing on a youtube video

  • Brad Donald

Says the guy that sent axelrod out to imply it was the teaparty. My god.

    • nc

shhh…don’t tell michael s… will burst his little bubble.

  • TocksNedlog

So, are we allowed to discuss current events among ourselves, or will the disapproving finger-wag be followed by a visit from the FBI or Homeland Security?

    • nc

We better discuss this question while we still can.

  • Steve_J

By Obama’s standards did the Boston and Watertown police act stupidly?

    • Tim jones

I’d say they did, they were supposedly entering homes to find this kid and had every resource available trying to find the kid when in the end the terrorist was found by a citizen.

Hell, the only reason the Feds even published pics was because the public was sifting through the imagery themselves.

If everyone in Boston was armed – and every household had a gun there’d be no way for a terrorist to enter their home, instead of telling everyone to hide, they should have posse’d up like they would have a couple hundred years ago and everyone check their own property with their neighborhood posse.

I wouldn’t let anyone in my home to search for a terrorist, if he came here he’d be blown away in the yard..

  • AZWarrior

President Stompy Foot Pouty Lip is the one who jumps on anything he can in an emotional knee jerk reaction. Remember his statements on the Zimmerman case as one example?

    • Tim jones

If I had a son they’d look like little skittles.. And it’s a fellow Muslim do obammys that’s the terrorist again and I’m sure Michelle is getting dressed up to visit this one as well..

  • michael s

lets take a scorecard. who waited until definitive suspects were defined by law enforcement before speaking on those responsible? Pres Obama or most of you? Pres Obama 1 most of you 0. Who believed that this was Al Qaeda Pres Obama or Peter King? Pres Obama 1 Peter King 0 Who believed this was a dark skinned male? Pres Obama or most of you John King ? Pres Obama 1 most of you and John King 0 Who believed It was a Black male. Pres Obama or most of you? Pres Obama 1 most of you 0. Kepping score that’s Pres Obama correct on all counts ,most of you Peter King and john king 0. I could go on but its clear who showed logic.NUFF SAID.

    • ConservativeBen

    • Tim jones

You’re just another jihadist… Hopefully we will get to see you getting scraped off a street some day.

  • michael s

I love all the excuses deflection that is being done for the white terrorist known as dzhokhar tsarnaev. this is typical of any type of white terrorism. whether its jared loughner casey fury joseph stack now this want to be upset when Pres Obama said dont rush to judgement. you’re just mad because most of you did and were wrong.

    • Tim jones

Radical Muslim. Everyone knew it was a Muslim get the hell out of my country ya terrorist!

  • lainer51

We are only allowed to rush to judgment if it’s a white, conservative male to be questioned.

  • ked5

well – he would know. “I’ll stand with the muslims if the winds should shift in an ugly direction.” he told everyone what he would do – but the left just couldn’t believe his own words when he actually spoke the truth.
