Hilarious: Oliver Willis screws up spelling in post mocking conservative stupidity

Conservatives are so dumb! That’s why Media Matters “propganadist” Oliver Willis is “less than complementary of the right.”

Willis quietly corrected his error, but Twitchy is forever.

We all make mistakes. But this time, it couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy.

So I guess Hooked on Phonics didn’t work for him? :)

    • TocksNedlog

      He got hooked on Ebonics.

It was the result of an FBI conspiracy to teach slang to all of the ghetto kids in order to keep them down.

      Nope, he’s Stuck on Stupid.

      Gnome sane?

  • radicallyalyssa

I really do enjoy moronic liberals. I’m 20 years old and know the difference between complimentary and complementary. My gosh.

just watch and see: his next course of action will be to talk about “haters.”

“..with goals that are antithetical of the American ideal”…

What is this guy smoking? Bloated nanny-state government, oppressive taxes, buying votes and slavery via social welfare, political lifers, scientific grants based on political ideology, the demonization of religion is the “American Ideal”?

Don’t you remember the winter at Valley Forge when General Washington told his troops that they’d have decent clothing and food if not for the King’s sequester.

      • Right Wired

Give me food stamps, or give me death!

        • tacticomp

Let’s give them the latter–so we can get rid of the moochers once and for all!

        • SorryJeffersonWeTried

          hmmm Sorry, out of paper…

      • ceemack

Those who would sacrifice a little liberty for a little security deserve food stamps, Section 8 housing and 20-minute 911 response times.

        • SorryJeffersonWeTried

hah many first responders wont even go into some of these citadels of hope n change

      • SorryJeffersonWeTried

I remember it was effin cold…

    • TocksNedlog

Well, it’s the American Socialist ideal. He just left out a word — probably wasn’t too sure how to spell it.

And he says he grew up during the era of conservative ascendance and watched it wreak havoc on the economy. Well I grew up during the Carter years and I watched as our country came roaring back from economic conditions even worse than those that Obama blamed Bush for. And that feat was performed by Pres. Ronald Reagan (god bless his soul). During the ’80’s the economy grew apace, unemployment fell, and we (as a nation) was respected by the international community.

Now our closest allies don’t trust us and this administration has shown that it has no spine and will be the first to offer the olive branch. It has conspired with terrorist organizations to successfully overthrow the government of another sovereign nation (Libya) and has engaged in illegal gun running activities with drug cartels, incidentally causing the death of American citizens. It uses terror attacks carried out by drones to assassinate American citizens overseas, and purposely denies calls for proper security for our Ambassador (whom is likewise killed on foreign soil). Then on top of that it is buried in a massive cover-up that is obvious.
      (Begin rant)
Our top leader helped to create the housing bubble crisis that exploded in 2009 and then promptly blamed everything on his predecessor who, by the way, tried on more than a dozen occasions to prevent the disaster that he saw coming. He has lied on his promises with the PPACA, health care has become more complicated, more expensive, you are not going to keep your plan or your doctor, and small business still cannot afford to extend coverage to their employees. Businesses are cutting jobs, and cutting hours, and cutting benefits to avoid this nightmare, and then they get blasted by the automatons who supported him. He passes outrageous regulations that strangle free enterprise, spends borrowed money like a madman, and then says we need to raise taxes (another broken campaign promise BTW). Then he takes 8 vacations on the tax payers dime in the last 5 months (now I can understand the security and transport but, damn; 8. And why can’t he use his own money?!)

He lied about his birth certificate, his SSN, his selective service registration card, and his citizenship. He stole an election through massive fraud (more and more confirmed reports keep pouring in).

Now the 2nd amendment is under attack, part of the 1st has been lost, the military can arrest and detain citizens without charges, the sanctity of marriage is about to be lost, and federal spending is out of control. School children can no longer tour the white house (but hey, parties for radical leftest are still OK), and you can’t buy a 32oz Big Gulp in NY! Our children are no longer safe while in school, hell they don’t even learn anymore but are indoctrinated, and the only answer our leaders come up with: empower the criminals even more! WTF!!!

Americans, why is this man STILL IN OFFICE???
      (End rant)

Yep, it was pure havoc in the 1980’s under conservative leadership. At least then I could at least leave my front door unlocked.

  • disqus_eric

    Spell check, aisle 7!

  • coreopsis has set in

    Homonyms! Its watts ford inner!

  • sigh

Uh, “morans” is not a spelling error. It’s a dig at Terry Moran and the person being called a moron (moran) at the same time. Been around for years on forums.

    • aegean1

I thought it was an inside joke, I just couldn’t remember who the Moran was.

  • sigh

Google: site:democraticunderground.com Quit spelling moron as moran

  • Barry Blough

I’m sure the liberal will come up with a “do we really need both words” approach to making use of either appropriate.

  • Pulchritudinous

Thanks for the geometry lesson Willis! 😀

A big juicy fat LOL! When I criticise otherz stupidity I is very carefull knot to make any typoes.

  • Maxx

AP is preparing to modify their stylebook as a result of this.

They’ll decide by 5 pm that “complementary” is proper because it’s less prejudiced to liberals who can’t spell at the same time they’re mocking others for spelling.

    Wait for it.

  • lainer51

awww– poor widdle Ollie – I think he is confused, I complement him, er, I mean compliment him all the time… during Joke Night at my house.

  • j p

Is something that is less than complementary a thing that they pay you to take?

  • jb

Life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness are goals of the American people and, as a subset, conservatives. What in the crazy are his ideals? This sounds just like Van Jones “redefinition” tripe.

  • Wag_a_Muffin (D)

I’m having a difficult time understanding. (And not because of the spelling error.) Is Willis asserting that if someone makes a mistake in punctuation or spelling that it is acceptable to be rude to them? Is this his premise? I will be polite and civil as long as no grammar rules are broken?

  • Adonis J. King

Grammar Nazi’s .. arghhhh.. deal with the issues and the intent of what is said… this shit makes all of you who participated in this meaningless debate look like idiots.

  • Lady 12

Is it possible that the spelling of Moran is a pun on the name of that Moran guy who beat his girlfriend?

    • Tyrconnell

Yeah, I was thinking Congressman Jim Moran, his son was the last Moran I heard about slapping around a woman…following in daddy’s footsteps.
But it’s the GOP that has a War On Women ™

      • Lady 12

Somebody should inform Oliver Willis that he completely missed the point.

I think he was just following the i before e except after a c rule.

I like how the guy with the “get a brain” sign autographed it

  • oneword

Who the hell is Oliver Willis?

  • Julius500

when I saw that picture, I thought the guy holding the sign was referring to the Morans in Va. Democrats revealed in a James O’Keefe video on voter fraud and slamming girlfriend’s face into a trash can.

Ignorance needlessly points out the error in others – but arrogant stupidity doesn’t acknowledge itself.

  • mdtljt

First off, tip o’ the hat to Jeff Medcalf’s apt description – rudderless hack. Second, having suffered in Alexandria, VA too long under Jim Moran’s “leadership” I thought the sign was spot-on!!!

  • Tom Anderson

I love it when progressives do that. The back an forth that ensues is hilarious, but it is even funnier when they finally call you a racist, bigot, misogynist or posing a straw man argument. A simple concept; if your going to be a condescending prick about someones spelling because you have no real intelligent argument to make, use spell check.
