Terribly sad news this morning: Former U.K. Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher has died following a stroke. She was 87 years old.

Twitter mourns.

    • George Murrey

I sometimes read the hateful post, they aren’t true to being journalist as much as they are to go against anybody that disagrees with them.

  • Spatial Awareness

    RIP Iron Lady.

  • CatHerder

    Rest in peace.

  • Tangchung

RIP Margaret….say hi to Ronnie in heaven.

Took the words right outta my mouth. RIP, Iron Lady.

    • GaryTheBrave

Ronald Reagan, Pope John Paul II, and Margaret Thatcher together again. Heaven is singing.

      • Matthew Locke

        Yes and surprisingly warm !

        • GaryTheBrave

What do you mean by that?

          • WORSEKarma

The BammieBot means they’re actually in Hell. BammieBots are such cute hateful little bigots, aren’t they?

          • GaryTheBrave

I was thinking that’s what he meant but I wanted to give him a fair chance to clarify.

        • Ben Bollman

yes, I’m sure God has given them their own private tropical island. Thanks for the warm fuzzy thoughts!

        • Garth Haycock

I doubt you thought of that all by yourself. Fess up – from whom did you steal that pithy comment?

  • Smilin Kevin Henry

Here come’s lucky! And by lucky, I mean a flood of hate from the left. Dare I check democraticunderground?

    • Jeffrey Olah

all you need to do is look at the breaking newsfeed on yahoo…disgusting

    • Spatial Awareness

Don’t do it. Don’t feed the monkeys.

    • trixiewoobeans

And most of it will be from “herd followers” who have barely a clue about her, just parroting what they hear their masters saying.

  • JoeMyGodNYC

How long until Twitchy posts its “outraged” recap of anonymous nobodies mocking Thatcher’s death?

    • TomJB

Don’t worry, Joe, your tweets will be passed over no matter how vitriolic you make them.

    • ozconservative

I’m shocked……liberals would mock someones death???? I mean they’re just soooo “tolerant”

    • JoeMyGodNYC

Heh. Twitchy’s predictable roundup of nobodies went up exactly ten minutes after my comment. Twitchy has a formula and they stick to it!

      • CO2 Producer

No human being is “nobody.” We are all equal signs.

        • Grumpa Grumpus

          Don’t mind him, C2P — he’s projecting again.

Just step away, before he manages to splatter you w/the pus erupting from his gangrenous personality.

Poor, sad, fellow. Apparently his only pleasure is in causing others discomfort… a very sad & wasted life.

      • trixiewoobeans

Don’t be so hard on yourself, Joe, I’m sure you’re somebody to somebody.

      • Jake_Was_Here

Is it Twitchy that’s the predictable one here, or is it the left? The reason the formula works is that leftists don’t have the common decency to shut up.

  • bo1921

She was a real leader, through and through. She had more guts and courage than virtually all of our present federal “leaders” in the WH and Congress – together. Rest in Peace, Mrs. Thatcher.

  • NRPax

Where there is discord, may we bring harmony. Where there is error, may we bring truth. Where there is doubt, may we bring faith. And where there is despair, may we bring hope.

    • Lisa Dean

Her words were always thought provoking.

      • NRPax

Ayup. I figured I’d post something different than her remarks about Socialism. -:-)

        • RichInIowa

Sound like it’s from the Anglican Liturgy.

          • NRPax

Apparently, it’s a paraphrasing of a quote from St. Francis.

  • Stone Bryson

There was no one else like her – a great mind, a great leader. May she rest in peace.

  • Lisa Dean

God Speed Mrs. Thatcher aka Iron Lady. You and Ronald Reagan were pure genius in your leadership and helped shape my political thought process. I wish all women in politics would take your staunch personality, non tolerant to BS and beautiful rapport as examples in how they should act today.

  • George Murrey

May Ms Thatcher rest in peace. A woman that dared to take on others to keep her country from going under. She will be missed by all.

  • annoyinglittletwerp

RIP Iron Lady. She was a tireless pursuer of freedom.

  • plumberskid

God rest your soul, Mrs. Thatcher. And here’s to a life well lived.

  • PatriotRG

1st time i ever vote was for Maggie – a true conservative. Not a rino drinking diet coke type like we have now in the u.s and the uk.

  • Right Wired

    Requiescat In Pace.

Thank you for helping to destroy the evils of communism. Enjoy the conversations with Mr. Reagan!

  • John Thomas “Jack” Ward III

    She was the “Iron Dame” of the British Empire, standing by her Conservative principles and standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Ronald Reagan against terrorism, Communism, Liberalism, and all the other evils in this world… Winston Churchill couldn’t have done it better! Jawamax 8<{D}

  • HARP2

Being powerful is like being a lady. If you have to tell people you are, you aren’t.

    Margaret Thatcher

  • Rev TJ Conwell

RIP Baroness Margaret Thatcher … can’t wait to hear @Barack Obama’s narcissistic statement, about himself, to honor her passing.

    • DebEast

Obama will probably post a picture of himself gazing at the British flag.

      • Rev TJ Conwell

You have no idea how much coffee I just spit onto my monitor when I read your comment. LOL!

  • RightThinking1

A remarkable, capable, woman. It would follow that the Left would despise her.

    RIP Mrs. Thatcher

  • Stephen L. Hall

Our prayers for the Iron Lady’s family on her passing.

  • JoeMyGodNYC

“Spending actually rose during Thatcher’s first seven years in office, as the New York Times reports and taxes took up a larger percentage as share of gross domestic
product. Indeed, even by the end of her time in office taxes were still a higher percentage of GDP than they were when she arrived.” I thought the teapeople were against all of that stuff?

  • trixiewoobeans

She was one of the last of “when the Grown-ups steered the world” eras… courageous, principled and strong… not the capricious, malevolent children we have now. While I didn’t always agree with her at the time (young and liberal, blush), I always admired her nonetheless.

  • Jack Deth

    Rest well, Lady Thatcher:

One of the two greatest friends and allies the US had in the 20th century.

  • HCGChica

    Rest in Peace, Mrs. Thatcher.

Thank you for being an inspiration to many women!

  • John

Thatcher, Reagan, and John Paul II — there is no measure to the gratitude the people of today and tomorrow shall owe them.

  • karasunomajyo

The world is lessened by her absence. Rest in peach Margaret Thatcher. I will forever be grateful to have had a role model of your caliber through my youth.
