Spin, baby, spin! Desperate progressives blame 'sequester spring' for dismal jobs report; Update: White House blames sequester

Hey, look, it’s another “unexpectedly” crappy jobs report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. How bad is it?

That’s some recovery!

Like a record, baby!

Out: Recovery summer. In: Sequester spring!

Never mind that even if the sequester was to blame, it’s Obama’s sequester. Spin! Spin until you’re dizzy!

Sequester, eh?

Update:

The White House is blaming sequestration too.

  • therantinggeek

Someone please stop this merry-go-round? I’m getting way too dizzy.

In all seriousness, however, I’m not surprised that the Left would try to spin this latest jobs report as the result of a “sequester”. PS – please stop quoting the U-3 unemployment numbers as “official.” The U-6 numbers tell a more compelling story.

    • http://twitter.com/thetugboatphil TugboatPhil

And isn’t it a good thing? Pelosi told us that for every $1 of government assistance paid out, the economy benefited by $1.78.

      • therantinggeek

Yeah, and that leads to my next question: How did she come up with those numbers? Fuzzy math?

        • Billie Slash

No, its Botox in the brain.

      • bb_959

Is that their own economy with the kickbacks included?

  • Scott Carroll

Horrible Jobocalypse numbers yet unemployment rate fell. With a few more months like this we’ll have that baby under 5%!

Newsflash to the media and all politicians: We’re not morons out here. Spinning the subject of unemployment won’t work. America continues to be unemployed because government refuses to get out of the way of the economy. 7,000 lost federal jobs doesn’t equal an almost 8 percent unemployment rate.

Are YOU really that stupid to think that we’re stupid enough to believe this?

    • Clayton Grant

C’mon JR, we both know that there are many, many people out there that will swallow this spin – hook, line and stinker.

      • http://twitter.com/thetugboatphil TugboatPhil

True. 51% of us ARE stupid enough to believe it. They’d also be the ones who could watch Obama eat a live baby on the steps of the Capitol and blame George Bush for it.

    • bb_959

Teflon ObaMao believes what he says. That’s scary.

  • sb36695

The economy has “progressively” gotten worse for this small business owner since Obama’s first election. I am no longer getting a paycheck. Borrowing money to give to Solyndra doesn’t help the economy, and I no longer see any way to pay the nation’s debt. I suggest you prepare for the collapse.

    • Clayton Grant

You’re right sb … people actually point to the record stock market highs to show the economy is improving without understanding that money is being sent there instead of being used to expand business’. The gov will not get out of the way until we elect better representatives.

      • sb36695

I believe this is what the government we have wants, and there seems to be enough “useful idiots” to let it happen. “Those who don’t know history are destined to repeat it.” And they won’t like it.

    • Samh09

I do believe Dinesh D’Souza warned us about hitting collapse in his movie 2016. Looks like his words are being echoed, echoed, echoed, echoed.

For anyone out there reading this and brings up that Dinesh D’Souza had an affair. He has already dealt with this issue. There was NO affair.

      • EastValleyConservative

Let’s pretend he did have one. It wouldn’t change the facts, plus that seems to be one of the prerequisites to becoming a Democratic politician. It’s only “bad” when others do it. In other words, Clinton-none of your business, (even though it occurred IN the White House. Anyone on the right? “that’s just very UN-Christian” as if they understand what Christianity is)

        • Samh09

I am not going to pretend he had one when he didn’t have one. You need to live in reality not what-if-ville, or in your case LIDSVILLE.

          • EastValleyConservative

Problem Sam? You seem a little cranky. Especially towards someone in agreement with you. ???

          • Samh09

Not cranky! Irritated, but not cranky. I’ve vquoted D’Souza before on here, and the “affair” issue always comes up. It’s hard to tell when someone is on your side on the internet especially since you cannot hear the tone in their voice. My mistake. I am giving you an apology.

    • V the K

By blaming the sequester, the Democrats are admitting that the economy is failing . Healthy economies do not depend on deficit-fueled Government spending.

      • EastValleyConservative

Unfortunately, they have managed to control the message and yes, even branding on this issue because too many people in this country are content to remain ignorant. The rest of us are suffering at the hands of a small majority of morons.

    • EastValleyConservative

You are correct. It’s by design, and the only thing that Progressives are disappointed in is that he hasn’t achieved total meltdown already. Utopia NOW! (the one in which the useful idiots believe their positions and stations in society will be maintained lavishly while the middle class pays out the nose to achieve “income equality”)

      • sb36695

They are destroying the middle class. You can’t have communism with a middle class. I’m ready for the collapse. My HOPE is that the “useful idiots” can somehow learn something from it. But I have my doubts.

        • EastValleyConservative

Unfortunately, they really won’t. Not the majority of them anyway. Keep in mind most of them have become dependent upon a controlled message because they won’t take the time to inform themselves. Nothing will change, they will be told to be angry at someone, just not those in power. As for those who have awakened, well, their vote has been easily replaced–through no voter id and amnesty.

  • aliwilcox

Obama and his Teflon Party will never accept responsibility for their failing policies.

  • capisce

The spin starts at the top.

The only thing we know for sure is that no way, no how can this continuation of employment stagnation be blamed or even tangentially connected to the man who has now been President for five years. He is blameless and as the media and his minions (redundant?) will tell you, powerless as he actually can never do anything to ward off anything bad because as always, “obstructionist Republicans”, “Bush!”, or “Reagan did the same thing”.

    Tee time!

  • R1486

Funny how dems are spinning the unemployment numbers yet repubs are spinning the payroll tax as the culprit. FYI house Repubs including Savior Rand Paul voted against extending payroll tax cuts.

    • Catchance

Nah… it’s not the payroll tax, and no one here is saying it is. It’s 4 years of Obama’s regressive Marxist policies plus ObamaCare forcing small businesses to shell out for insurance for full-time employees. If they pass a minimum wage of $9 it’s going to get even worse. Right now the U-6 unemployment numbers are around 14%, with low-skill people closer to 20%.

      • sb36695

I think that’s too many issues for a liberal mind!

        • R1486

You assume too much. You know there are other political affiliations besides far-right conservative and far-left liberal?

      • R1486

Well, I know it’s not the payroll tax, just pointing out what Republicans were saying. Twitchy posted a few stating it was because of payroll tax, one of them being druge report. Either way, anyone who works full-time should receive some kind of health insurance. Something has to happen though. Inflation has continued to rise while wages have stayed stagnant.

        • Catchance

I see your point… I just don’t believe that it’s everyone’s *right* to have health care insurance, especially if it’s someone else who is required to pay for it.

    • sb36695

Do you really believe it’s that simple? If so, don’t vote!

      • R1486

Of course I don’t think it’s that simple. I’m stating what others are saying, twitter posts that were reposted by twitchy. Again, you assume too much. There are other political affiliations besides far-right Conservative and far-left Liberal. Even Theodore Roosevelt who started as a Republican realized that far-right Conservative was just as bad as far-left Liberal.

We have been on this track since Obama took office. His policies have kept this country in recession longer than any previous period in history and with all the taxes, regulations and Obamacare there is no end in sight. His WH personifies the definition of insanity: doing the same thing over and over while expecting different results.

  • Neil Leininger

Signs the government has to big a stake in the economy. When $85B, not in actual cuts mind you, sends the economy spiraling into another recession. Even though it’s not really the sequester doing it.

Oh, Prudence… “Jim Kramer just LOST ALL CREDIBILITY..” He never had any credibility. He has been a leftist stooge for forever. He has made disastrous calls in the past. (Lehman?) He supports the farce that is Obama’s economic leadership… Do your wallet a favor and ignore CNBC and all financial journalists that have to find a rainbow no matter how bad the economy is…

    In other news:
The labor participation rate for March fell to 63.3 percent — a new 34 year low, according to numbers released today by the U.S. Department of Labor.

Dear twitchiers… please take note of the consequences of ‘chained cpi.’ This will allow our government to keep spending and the fed printing while pointing at ‘miraculous low inflation.’ (like their counter arguments to the money printing now that don’t factor in the old style of inflation, which would be much higher)

  • Stan

The WH puts out a lie and the MSM gets a memo on how to spin the lie. At first some of these pundits seemed credible, but now I don’t know how they can hold their heads up.Our leader who was supposed to have been a professor of law, is in charge of the largest and most complex economy in the world. He is like a kid in a candy store flying around wasting more money than any other president and no end in sight. And the latest idiotic speech gives us ways to tighten our budget and pay more and more taxes for him and his wife to keep up their lavish life style. Meanwhile he is in San Fran pandering to get Pelosi back and probably find ways to keep his job for at least another term. That’s in case he can’t bring the country down in this one.
