No radio or TV coverage of Pres Obama's fundraisers tonight. Just print member of press pool. Just like the Gridiron Dinner.— Mark Knoller (@markknoller) April 3, 2013
CBS News’ Mark Knoller was grumpy about the White House press pool being locked out of the annual Gridiron Dinner last month and wasn’t shy about letting the world know. The same rules go for tonight’s fundraisers in San Francisco: cameras and microphones aren’t allowed, but one “print pooler” is allowed in for transparency’s sake. What’s the chance that bartender/super-spy/national hero Scott Prouty will smuggle in a camcorder to keep things honest?
The Washington Post’s David Nakamura managed to get a National Enquirer-style shot from the press pool’s vantage point.
Reuters correspondent Jeff Mason has the inside scoop.
The evening’s entertainment for the neighborhood consisted of an impromptu brass band protesting the Keystone XL pipeline.
Occupy? God bless them for their spontaneity, as Nancy Pelosi would say.
